OUCH: Joy(less) Reid forced to apologize after she was caught denouncing Biden on hot mic

It’s hard not to gloat when a host from “the televised mental institution known as MSNBC” is caught blasting Biden when she thought her microphone was turned off.

That’s exactly what happened to Joy Reid recently.

Dave Rubin plays a clip of Reid accidentally spilling her true thoughts about the president.

“Over the weekend, President Biden said he's ready to take action if Congress is serious about solving the border issue,” Reed began before airing a clip of Biden announcing that he would “shut down the border right now and fix it quickly” if only Congress would “get it done.”

However, Reid evidently assumed that her mic was turned off during the Biden clip because viewers can clearly hear her mumble “starting another f***ing war” in the background.

“Did Joy Reid just say the quiet part out loud?” laughs Dave, adding that he loves it when these “pre-programmed robots who are just paid by the machine to spout nonsense” start “breaking down.”

After a commercial break, Reid came back on and apologized for her comment.

“So, I just want to apologize very quickly. I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who is listening to my behind the scenes chatter. I deeply, deeply apologize for that,” she said.

Dave is wholly unimpressed with Reid’s phony apology.

“Think how reverse that is from what I do here,” he says, admitting that he speaks his mind truthfully regardless of whether or not people love him or hate him for it.

“Do you think when we throw to a clip that I'm turning to [the producers] and being like, ‘Here's how I really feel about that’? It's such profound, evil BS.”

LISTEN: Hot mic catches Joy Reid drop F-bomb while Biden is speaking: 'Starting another f***ing war'

MSNBC host Joy Reid unwittingly dropped an F-bomb on a hot mic on the Monday edition of her show.

During a segment titled, "Republicans take credit for stuff they voted against," Reid slammed Republicans for opposing a bill that supposedly would help the border crisis. Biden has used that opposition as a pretext to claim that Republicans are not serious about fixing the crisis, telling supporters in South Carolina over the weekend that he would take immediate action on the border only if Congress passes that bill.

While producers played a clip of Biden speaking, Reid's mic was turned on.

"Starting another f***ing war," Reid said before the mic was turned off.

— (@)

It's not immediately clear what or who Reid was referring to, though it's unlikely the comment was related to the battle over the immigration bill.

Rather, the big topic of discussion in Washington on Monday was the drone attack that killed three American soldiers over the weekend. U.S. officials say Iran-backed militants were responsible for the attack, and Biden is facing growing pressure to retaliate. Biden, indeed, has promised to respond, presumably with military action.

It would make sense that Reid was referring to Biden's vow and the growing pressure for him to take military action against Iran, which risks drawing the U.S. into a bigger conflict in the Middle East.

Progressive Democrats, of course, are already critical of how Biden has helped Israel in its war against Hamas.

Reid acknowledged her hot-mic moment at the end of the show. She offered viewers an apology but no explanation.

"Before we go, I just want to apologize very quickly," she said. "I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know, we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my 'behind-the-scenes' chatter. I deeply, deeply apologize for that."

'Like JFK?' Journalists on hot mic reportedly laugh, joke about Trump assassination

A pair of journalists on a hot mic reportedly laughed and joked about former President Donald Trump getting assassinated, Mediate reported.

What are the details?

The verbal exchange took place Tuesday morning as the journalists waited for Trump's appearance at the Washington, D.C., Circuit Court of Appeals on the issue of presidential immunity, the outlet noted.

News cameras were set up between the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia and the E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Courthouse in anticipation of Trump’s arrival for the hearing, Mediaite said.

A live video feed captured a chat between two journalists regarding the difficulty of getting a good shot of Trump from their vantage point, the outlet noted, adding that the journalists began delving into "gallows humor" with references to assassinated President John F. Kennedy and a convertible vehicle.

Mediaite reported that the first journalist on the hot-mic audio said, "You know what the worst part is? Even if he has his window open and he’s hanging out of it, he will be on the other side of the street."

Here's what followed:

Journalist 2: I mean, if he’s driving we’ve got a good shot!
Journalist 1: Yeah, if he’s driving with the front window open?
Journalist 2: Yeah, or if it’s a convertible?
Journalist 1: Yeah.
Journalist 2: Yeah.
Journalist 1: I wasn’t thinking about that.
Journalist 2: Yeah. Like if he just pulls up like –
Journalist 1: Like JFK? Like a JFK ...
Journalist 2: (laughs)
Journalist 1: Maybe someone, just like they told JFK: "You know what you should do? You should take a convertible. It’s so nice out."

How are folks reacting?

A number of commenters on social media weren't happy with the journalists:

  • "Sounds like someone needs a visit from the Secret Service," one commenter wrote.
  • "Evil horrible humans," another user said.
  • "There is a lot of hate going on," another commenter noted.
  • "Their names should be posted," another user argued.

News anchor 'immediately' fired from NYC station over alleged hot-mic insult about his female co-anchor

New York City news anchor Ken Rosato was abruptly fired after he was caught on a hot mic allegedly calling his co-anchor a four-letter expletive.

Rosato, co-host of WABC-TV's "Eyewitness News This Morning," was "immediately let go," according to sources who spoke to Page Six, after a hot mic recently captured him allegedly referring to his co-anchor, Shirleen Allicot, as a "c**t." Though his mic was live, Rosato was not on air at the time of the alleged remark.

Though WABC has not yet officially announced Rosato's ouster, station leadership told staffers last Friday that Rosato "is no longer with WABC."

Sources who spoke with Page Six first suggested that Rosato was fired for uttering a racial slur. But a representative denied the rumor.

"Being fired for any racial slur is 100 percent inaccurate and untrue," the representative told Page Six. "Ken Rosato had a benchmark of 20 years at WABC of supporting all equality."

According to his WABC profile — which has been scrubbed from the station's website — Rosato joined the station as a freelance reporter in 2003 after stints at other stations in the Big Apple, Miami, and Binghamton, New York. He became an anchor for WABC in 2007.

He also previously served as a priest in a Florida church.

Rosato's alleged ouster is unusual in that typically when someone is caught on a hot mic making distasteful or offensive comments, the person is suspended before termination, especially in the case of employees who have dedicated years of their career to the company.

For example, Oakland Athletics broadcaster Glen Kuiper was suspended after he appeared to say the N-word on air last week — not immediately fired. He later apologized.

Still, it is perfectly legal for New York employers to dismiss employees for unfair reasons or no reason at all, which is not to say that insulting your colleague does not necessitate the possibility of termination. Sources told Page Six that Rosato was fired "for cause," meaning his employers believed he violated his work contract.

Entire California school board resigns after officials caught on hot mic trashing parents who wanted to reopen schools

An entire school board in northern California resigned after a video of the officials bashing parents went viral. In a virtual meeting, the school officials ridiculed parents who wanted in-person public education to resume. The video grabbed nationwide headlines.

Shortly after the video surfaced online, a petition sprung up that called for the resignation of the school board members, and quickly amassed thousands of signatures. The president and three other members of the Oakley Union Elementary School District resigned on Friday after they were caught on a hot mic leak lambasting parents who want schools reopened.

President Lisa Brizendine, as well as Kim Beede, Erica Ippolito, and Richie Masadas, all resigned after becoming infamous on the internet for trouncing parents, including insinuating that they're drug users.

The district's superintendent, Greg Hetrick, announced the board's resignation on Friday and disavowed the "truly inappropriate comments."

"The comments made were not in alignment with our vision and are definitely not what any of us stand for as leaders," Hetrick told Fox News. "I know that we lost trust with the community. I will not make excuses for what happened or why it happened."

Hetrick said that the departing school board would temporarily be replaced by members of the Contra Costa County education board, according to Mercury News. The school district is about 50 miles east of San Francisco.

Brizendine issued an apology after announcing her resignation as president of the school board.

"I am raising a 10-year-old with special needs and having him home during this pandemic, while also holding down two jobs to support my family has been a huge stress," Brizendine said. "I suffer with many of the same things that parents are going through from mental health issues to regression. My remark was callous and uncalled for and for that I am truly sorry."

However, during the viral video, Brizendine didn't seem to show empathy toward parents who are struggling to balance their new stressful pandemic lives where they have taken a greater role in the education of their children.

"It's really unfortunate that they want to pick on us because they want their babysitters back," Brizendine said of parents in the video, which she thought was a private conversation with her peers, but was being broadcast to the public and recorded. She also insulted teachers by calling them "babysitters."

School board member Richie Masadas seemed to suggest that parents are upset that classrooms are closed because children being home interrupts the adults smoking marijuana. Masadas said his brother is a cannabis delivery person, "and the clientele were parents with their kids in school." He allegedly noted that the parents were angry because could no longer "smoke up" now that their kids are home.

Oakley Union trustee Kim Beede reportedly went on a profanity-laced tirade during the eight-minute video.

"Are we alone? "B****, if you're gonna call me out, I'm going to f*** you up. Sorry, that's just me."

Beede, Masadas, and Ippolito issued an apology.

"We deeply regret the earlier comments that were made in the meeting of the Board of Education earlier this week," the joint statement by now ex-board members reads. "As trustees, we realize it is our responsibility to model the conduct that we expect of our students and staff, and it is our obligation to build confidence in district leadership; our comments failed you in both regards, and for this we offer our sincerest apology."

Ashley Stalf, whose 6-year-old daughter attends a school in the district, reacted to the school board openly disparaging parents.

"We meet regularly with the board as parents and we're constantly sending in letters and emails and telling them our griefs and our strife's over distance learning," Stalf told host Steve Doocy on "Fox & Friends." "It seems as of late that they mocked us, that we're just complaining and we have nothing better to do."

Stalf asked, "What are their true intentions, if they feel so freely that they can talk, you know, on a mic that may or may not be hot, what's truly being said behind closed doors?"

Parents are frustrated since public schools in California have been closed for in-person education for months.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, declared earlier this month that schools shouldn't reopen until the massive $1.9 trillion COVID-19 economic stimulus plan is passed.

VIDEO: Democratic senator doesn't know he's live on camera, rattles off the F-word during virtual Postal Service hearing

During the coronavirus pandemic, people have had to make changes in their lives, which for many has meant working remotely. That even applies to United States senators, who have attended virtual government functions. With the addition of unfamiliar technology and the inexperience with video conferencing services, it opens the door for misadventures. Just ask Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.).

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy testified Friday morning before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Carper believed he was experiencing some technical difficulties when he was called upon, prompting him to curse up a storm.

Unknowingly to Carper, there were no technical difficulties, and his expletive outburst was livestreamed for the entire world to behold.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), the panel's chairman, called on Carper to speak during the virtual hearing. After Carper didn't respond, Johnson moved on to Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.).

Carper, 73, believed that he wasn't broadcasting to the virtual hearing. Upset that he couldn't participate in the hearing, Carper turned to his aide and into the hot mic he exclaimed, "F***! F***! F***!"

Johnson asks, "Senator Carper can you unmute?" An amused Johnson adds, "We don't want to be on TV again."

Carper then began his questioning of DeJoy.

So this just happened... 😂(Language warning) https://t.co/EYytcgidgv

The Democrats are interrogating DeJoy over cost-cutting measures to the U.S. Postal Service that led to concerns as to whether the USPS will be able to effectively handle mail-in ballots of the November general election.

DeJoy, who is a Republican donor and ally of President Donald Trump, implemented cost-saving actions to try to ease the financial woes of the USPS after he assumed the position on June 15.

Some Democrats believe that there has been a reduction in USPS assets, including mailboxes and mail-sorting machines. There is a conspiracy theory that the alleged downsizing of the USPS is a calculated scheme to stymie mail-in ballots in the presidential election.

"There has been no changes in any policies with regard to the election mail for the 2020 election," DeJoy said during Friday's hearing. "Trying to have any negative impact on the election is an outrageous claim."

"As we head into this election season, I want to assure this committee and the American public that the Postal Service is fully capable and committed to delivering the nation's election mail securely and on time," DeJoy said. "This sacred duty is my number one priority between now and election day.

"I want to make a few things clear: The Postal Service is ready today to handle whatever volume of election mail it receives this fall," DeJoy declared. "Even with the challenges of keeping our employees and customers safe and healthy as they operate amid a pandemic, we will deliver the nation's election mail on time and within our well-established service standards.

"Changes must be made to ensure our sustainability for the years and decades ahead," DeJoy said of needed spending cuts at the USPS.
