Hunter Biden had FBI mole named 'One-Eye' who was 'paid lots of money' to tip him off to probes of Chinese business partners, says Israeli energy expert

Hunter Biden had a well-paid FBI mole named "One-Eye" who provided confidential information about government probes of his Chinese business partners, according to an Israeli energy expert. The whistleblower was arrested in Cyprus last month after the U.S. Department of Justice accused him of being a gunrunner and made an extradition request.

Dr. Gal Luft is a former Israel Defense Forces lieutenant colonel with a doctorate in strategic studies from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. Luft is a co-director of the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security – a "Washington-based think tank focused on energy, security, and economic trends." Luft is a senior adviser to the United States Energy Security Council that is "focused on diminishing the inordinate strategic importance of oil, which stems from its virtual monopoly over transportation fuel." Luft specializes in "geopolitics, geo-economics, energy security, Middle East, and US-China relations."

Luft was reportedly a senior adviser for China Energy Fund Committee.

A 2019 Financial Times article stated Chinese national and CEFC deputy chairman Chi Ping “Patrick” Ho attended energy security conferences organized by Luft's Analysis of Global Security.

A 2018 New York Times article described CEFC’s founder and chairman Ye Jianming as "[wanting] access to the corridors of power in Washington."

The New York Times reported in 2018:

By 2015, Mr. Ye had begun working on perhaps his most politically connected quarry yet: the family of Mr. Biden, the vice president. An aide to Mr. Ye met the vice president’s second son, Hunter Biden, in Washington. Mr. Ye then met privately with Hunter Biden at a hotel in Miami in May 2017, according to people with direct knowledge of the meetings who were not authorized to speak publicly because the meetings were private. Mr. Ye proposed a partnership to invest in American infrastructure and energy deals, the people said. During this period, the vice president’s son was managing Rosemont Seneca Partners, an investment firm he formed with Chris Heinz, the stepson of John Kerry, the former secretary of state.

There are purported emails found on Hunter's laptop between the son of President Joe Biden and high-ranking officials from China Energy Fund Committee, including Ho.

Alleged emails dated August 2017 show Hunter angling for a three-year consulting contract with CEFC worth $10 million annually "for introductions alone." Hunter allegedly told a former executive director of CEFC that the "lasting and lucrative" deal would be "interesting to me and my family."

The New York Post reported, "CEFC paid a further $4.9 million to Hunter and Jim Biden in monthly installments for 14 months from August 2017, government records show."

The CEFC donated at least $350,000 to Luft's Institute for the Analysis of Global Security and as much as $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation, according to the NYT.

Luft claimed that Ye told him that Hunter Biden had an FBI mole named "One-Eye" to protect his Chinese business partners.

Luft's lawyer, Robert Henoch, told the New York Post this week that Ye confided to Luft that Hunter Biden had an FBI informant "or formerly of the bureau, extremely well placed, who they paid lots of money to [provide] sealed law enforcement information."

New York Post journalist Miranda Devine wrote, "'One-Eye' told Ye that the Southern District of New York was investigating him and/or Ho in late 2017, and that 'an Asian, an African, and a Jewish guy' were named on a sealed indictment, says Henoch. Soon after that tipoff, Ye offered Hunter $1 million to be his 'private counsel' and flew to China, leaving his wife, daughter, son, mother, and nanny in his $50 million penthouse at 15 Central Park West."

According to an "Attorney Engagement Letter" dated September 2017 obtained by the New York Post, Ho agreed to pay Hunter Biden a $1 million retainer for: "Counsel to matters related to U.S. law and advice pertaining to the hiring and legal analysis of any U.S. law firm or lawyer."

However, Ho was arrested in November 2017 at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York. In March 2019, the Department of Justice announced that Ho had been sentenced to serve 36 months in prison for "his role in a multi-year, multimillion-dollar scheme to bribe top officials of Chad and Uganda in exchange for business advantages for CEFC China Energy Company Limited ('CEFC China')."

Henoch said, "Ho was the patsy … the fall guy."

Luft alleged that he contacted the Department of Justice after Ho was sentenced. U.S. federal investigators allegedly interviewed him for more than 18 hours on March 28 and 29, 2019. Luft said that he informed the investigators that Hunter and Jim Biden were receiving money in exchange for the FBI mole and to garner influence from having connections to Joe Biden. However, he said that he never heard from the investigators ever again.

Luft was arrested at a Cyprus airport last month as he was about to board a flight back to Israel.

Luft tweeted on Feb 18, "I've been arrested in Cyprus on a politically motivated extradition request by the U.S. The U.S., claiming I'm an arms dealer. It would be funny if it weren't tragic. I've never been an arms dealer. DOJ is trying to bury me to protect Joe, Jim & Hunter Biden. Shall I name names?"

Luft, 56, remains in a Cyprus jail as he awaits extradition to the U.S. over charges of arms trafficking to China and Libya and violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

"Congress has the Biden bank records but it doesn’t know the reason for the payments. Now it does," Henoch said. "The information that the whistleblower Dr. Luft gave the DOJ four years ago is the missing link for the reason behind the China-Biden money transfers. Clearly, this is explosive stuff."

Henoch has been in communication with Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.).

Earlier this month, Comer said Luft's arrest is "the straw that broke the camel's back."

"I think we're going in a positive direction, and I think that people see the heavy-handedness of the Bidens – either you're getting picked up by the DOJ or you're getting a letter from Hunter Biden's personal attorney trying to intimidate you into not coming in and talking to us," Comer said, adding that he has three whistleblowers besides Luft.

Luft's attorney in Israel, Mordechai Tzivin, told the Jerusalem Post that the gunrunning arrest "would be a good way to shut him up."

"He knows a lot of information on Hunter," Tzivin added. "The Senate only recently began to investigate Hunter's case, and Gal's testimony, if [he is allowed to testify] will bury Hunter Biden. Even more so, his testimony will shift the attention toward the president himself."

Joe Biden responds to report Hunter Biden could be charged with gun and tax crimes: 'He's on the straight and narrow.'

Democratic President Joe Biden responded to a report that federal agents believed they had collected enough evidence to charge his son Hunter Biden with gun and tax crimes.

Biden was asked by CNN's Jake Tapper about the report on his show Tuesday.

"Our reporting, CNN's reporting and the Washington Post reporting suggests that prosecutors think they could, they have enough to, charge your son Hunter for tax crimes and a false statement about a gun purchase. Personally and politically, how do you react to that?" Tapper asked the president.

"Well, first of all, I'm proud of my son," responded Biden.

"This is a kid who got – not a kid, he’s a grown man – he got hooked on, like many families have had happen, hooked on drugs. He’s overcome that. He’s established a new life,” he added.

“I’m confident that he is – what he says and does are consistent with what happens. And for example, he wrote a book about his problems and was straightforward about it. I’m proud of him," Biden continued.

"He came along and said, by the way, this thing about a gun – I didn’t know anything about it. But turns out that when he made application to purchase a gun, what happened was he – I guess you get asked – I don’t guess, you get asked a question, 'are you on drugs, or do use drugs?’ He said no. And he wrote about saying no in his book,” he added.

“So, I have great confidence in my son,” Biden concluded. “I love him and he’s on the straight and narrow, and he has been for a couple years now. And I’m just so proud of him.”

Hunter Biden announced publicly that his taxes were under federal investigation in December 2020 where he asserted that he expected to be found innocent of any wrongdoing. He did not address the possibility of gun charges at that time.

The decision on whether Hunter Biden will face charges is up to Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss. He is expected to announce that decision after the 2020 midterm elections in November.

Joe Biden says he's not worried about accusations against Hunter Biden, calls them 'foul play'

President-elect Joe Biden said on Thursday that he was not worried about the allegations against his son Hunter Biden and called them "foul play."

Biden made the comments on an interview with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show that aired Thursday.

"We have great confidence in our son," said Biden when asked about his son.

"I'm not concerned about any accusations that have been made against him, it's used to get me. I think it's kind of foul play but -- look, it is what it is," he added.

"He's a grown man," concluded Biden. "He's the smartest man I know, I mean, in pure intellectual capacity, and uh, as long as he's good, we're good."

Hunter Biden revealed in statement from the Biden Harris transition team that his "tax affairs" were under federal investigation. Subsequent reports claimed that he had been under investigation for alleged money laundering since 2018, but the probe was put on hold during the 2020 presidential campaign.

The president-elect has denied any wrongdoing related to his son's business affairs.

Joe Biden might have been responding to a tweet by the president earlier Thursday where he denied having any role in the "potential prosecution" of Hunter Biden.

"I have NOTHING to do with the potential prosecution of Hunter Biden, or the Biden family. It is just more Fake News. Actually, I find it very sad to watch!" tweeted the president.

Previous to this denial, the president had lashed out at Attorney General William Barr over reports that he knew about the investigation into Hunter Biden but did not reveal it to the public or to the president. Barr has since told the president that he would be retiring from the position at the end of the year.

Trump turns on AG Bill Barr after report claims he knew about probe of Hunter Biden before election

President Donald Trump criticized U.S. Attorney General William Barr after a report claimed that he knew about the federal investigation into Hunter Biden before the election.

The report from the Wall Street Journal said on Thursday that Barr knew about two investigations into his business dealings at about the time that his father was vice president of the United States.

The Department of Justice has rules against taking investigative steps that would have an affect on any election, and Barr's decision to keep the investigations under wraps might have been in order to satisfy that policy.

On Friday the president reacted negatively to the report via his social media account.

"Now it turns out that my phone call to the President of Ukraine, which many, including me, have called 'perfect', was even better than that," tweeted Trump.

"I predicted Biden corruption, said to call the A.G. [Bill Barr], who perhaps knew of the corruption during the impeachment hoax?" he added.

The president was referring to a conversation he had with Ukrainian President Zelensky where he asked him to look into charges of corruption against former Vice President Joe Biden. Democrats impeached the president partly over the call because they said it was an abuse of power.

While accusations of criminal activity by Hunter Biden were tossed around before the election by allies of the president, the existence of a federal investigation was revealed on Wednesday.

"I learned yesterday for the first time that the US Attorney's Office in Delaware advised my legal counsel, also yesterday, that they are investigating my tax affairs," said Hunter Biden in a statement put out by the Biden Harris transition team.

"I take this matter very seriously, but I am confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately, including with the benefit of professional tax advisors," he added.

A later report said that the probe was much more expansive than his "tax affairs," and could include accusations of money laundering and illegal conduct with foreign countries.

Computer repairman at center of 'Biden laptop' scandal breaks silence after reportedly receiving death threats: I'm no 'Russian agent'

John Paul Mac Isaac, the computer repairman at the center of a reported Biden family scandal, is speaking out against any assertions that he is a Russian agent or hacker.

Mac Isaac made the remarks in a new video shared to YouTube on Saturday.

What's a brief history here?

Mac Isaac previously stated that he was in receipt of a laptop computer and hard drive containing highly sensitive information regarding former Vice President Joe Biden, his son Hunter Biden, and purported business dealings with Ukraine.

In November, Mac Isaac's lawyer, Brian Della Rocca, said that Mac Isaac closed his Wilmington, Delaware, computer repair shop after receiving death threats. A neighbor also told the outlet that Mac Isaac left town.

Hunter has not spoken about the laptop, and the former vice president said that the allegations were nothing more than a "desperate campaign to smear me and my family." He did not confirm whether the laptop belonged to his son.

What are the details of the new video?

As highlighted by the New York Post, Mac Isaac spoke out in the video insisting that he is not a double agent.

"For two generations, the Mac Isaac family has fought for the entirety of the Cold War against communism in the '70s," he said. "That's why it's completely absurd that why anyone would ever consider me to be a Russian agent or influenced by Russians. I am proud of my family, I'm proud of my country. I am proud to be an American."

Elsewhere in the three-minute video, titled "The Truth," Mac Isaac added, "For the record, I am not nor have I ever been a hacker. Those guys make so much more money than I do. I was hired — never paid — to perform a data transfer from a MacBook Pro to an external hard drive. The signed paperwork clearly states the process and sets the expectations. There's no magic or Hollywood. The process is no different than dragging or dropping from a USB drive. The only difference is I had to perform some surgery on the Mac to get it to boot."

Mac Isaac also said that he is absolutely not a hacker, which he said would be a "death sentence" in his industry.

"To imply that I'm a hacker or that information is hacked has an irreversible impact on my business and my character," he added.

NBC News report says a second Hunter Biden laptop was seized during a DEA raid of former TV doctor's office

An NBC News report claimed Friday that a second laptop owned by Hunter Biden had been seized by the Drug Enforcement Administration in a raid of the offices of a former celebrity psychologist.

The laptop was recovered by the DEA in February when they served a search warrant at the Newburyport, Massachusetts, office of Keith Ablow, the former celebrity psychiatrist. Ablow was not charged with any crime but his medical license was suspended by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine over charges of inappropriate sexual activity with patients. He denied the claims.

The NBC report said that Biden was not the target of the search, and that the laptop was returned to his lawyer. It was not clear why the laptop was at Ablow's office.

The revelation comes amidst much rumor and speculation about a laptop reportedly owned by Hunter Biden that was left at a Delaware computer shop and ended up in the possession of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the personal attorney of President Donald Trump.

The New York Post's report about that laptop and its contents were suppressed by Facebook and Twitter based on the personal information that were published and the controversial nature of the reporting. Both platforms were then accused of politically motivated censorship by allies and supporters of the president.

On Friday, Twitter relented and allowed the New York Post to resume control of its Twitter account.

In an interview with ABC News in 2019, Hunter Biden said that he would be joining his father on the campaign trail as long as he didn't become a political burden to his campaign. He has not joined his father on the campaign trail.

Report: All of the Bobulinski material reviewed by Congress so far has been verified

The Senate committee tasked with verifying materials submitted to Congress by former Hunter Biden business associate Tony Bobulinski has found all of the material reviewed so far to be legitimate.

Bobulinski submitted materials to the FBI and to Congress last week that he said proved the Biden family — including Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden — leveraged their family name to broker a partnership with CEFC China Energy Co. in 2017. Bobulinski was a member of the business consortium that dealt with the Chinese firm before things went south.

A spokesperson for Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), who chairs the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, told the Daily Caller on Wednesday that all of the electronic devices and records of business dealings reviewed to date have been verified. The spokesperson also reportedly said that committee has not come across any "signs" or evidence to suggest the content is false.

The news appears to be a stunning rebuke of Democratic lawmakers and former intelligence officials, who have maintained that the Hunter Biden scandal stemming from the New York Post's reporting and Bobulinski's claims is part of a Russian disinformation campaign aimed at swaying the election.

The same laws that prohibit individuals from lying or submitting false information to Congress through verbal or written testimony also apply to the material Bobulinski submitted last week. As such, Johnson also told the Daily Caller that the lengthy review process will prevent the committee from calling Bobulinski to testify ahead of next week's election.

Bobulinski was supposed to appear before the committee last week but that was postponed after the FBI requested an interview with him over his allegations. In a statement, Johnson said he was happy that the FBI was taking the matter seriously.

"I appreciate that the FBI has a job to do, and I am glad they are finally taking an interest in these concerning financial matters that our Committees have been investigating for months," Johnson said. "I expect that Mr. Bobulinski will speak with our committee as soon as possible and fully share his insights into the Biden family's business dealings."

In September, Johnson and Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) published a lengthy conflicts-of interests report about the Biden family which they said "revealed millions of dollars in questionable financial transactions between Hunter Biden and his associates and foreign individuals."

Among many findings, the report discovered that "on Aug. 8, 2017, CEFC Infrastructure Investment wired $5 million to the bank account for Hudson West III," most of which would later be rerouted to the Hunter Biden-owned Owasco firm.

Rep. Paul Gosar calls for NPR to be defunded over its blackout on Hunter Biden allegations

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) is calling for National Public Radio to be defunded by the federal government. The movement to defund NPR comes after the media organization announced that it would not cover the allegations against Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden.

On Thursday, NPR managing editor Terence Samuels declared that covering the news story about emails from Hunter Biden's laptop that was left at a computer repair store is a "waste" of time, and discredited the allegations a "distraction."

"We don't want to waste our time on stories that are not really stories, and we don't want to waste the listeners' and readers' time on stories that are just pure distractions," Samuels stated. "And quite frankly, that's where we ended up, this was ... a politically driven event and we decided to treat it that way."

Why haven't you seen any stories from NPR about the NY Post's Hunter Biden story? Read more in this week's newslett… https://t.co/qmNWngA9cJ
— NPR Public Editor (@NPR Public Editor)1603376100.0

NPR has dismissed the Hunter Biden accusations despite Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe declaring the Hunter Biden's laptop is "not part of some Russian disinformation campaign."

NPR also enacted a blackout on the Hunter Biden story despite an alleged business partner of Hunter Biden, Tony Bobulinski, confirming the emails are "genuine" and coming forward with multiple phones that he claims have text messages showing dealings with a Chinese energy corporation and the Democratic presidential nominee's son. Bobulinksi alleges that Joe Biden is involved in the deal. He also offered to speak with the FBI and senators regarding alleged transactions with the Shanghai-based company.

NPR refuses to cover the story despite the fact that Hunter Biden has not denied dropping off his laptop at the computer repair shop back in 2019.

Rep. Gosar wants to defund National Public Radio, who called the outlet's blackout "appalling." He added that he has "already directed my staff to start working" on legislation to defund NPR, which is a federally-funded media organization.

It’s time to defund @NPR. This is appalling. #DefundNPR https://t.co/wFbY5lGGTG
— Rep. Paul Gosar, DDS (@Rep. Paul Gosar, DDS)1603379590.0

Gosar, a staunch ally of President Donald Trump, believes the accusations against the Biden family. He quote-tweeted a post that read: "Joe Biden uses public office to enrich himself and his family. President Trump uses public office to bring jobs and prosperity to American families!" Adding, "This on repeat every day until the election."

Former Trump administration Ambassador to Germany and Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell was also enraged by NPR's blackout on the Hunter Biden story, calling it "activism."

NPR will ignore Hunter Biden emails. This is activism. Call your local NPR affiliate and complain. https://t.co/XNolW0Ug0c
— Richard Grenell (@Richard Grenell)1603378598.0

The NPR website states:

Federal funding is essential to public radio's service to the American public. Its continuation is critical for both stations and program producers, including NPR.

Public radio stations receive annual grants directly from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) that make up an important part of a diverse revenue mix that includes listener support, corporate sponsorship and grants. Stations, in turn, draw on this mix of public and privately sourced revenue to pay NPR and other public radio producers for their programming.

These station programming fees comprise a significant portion of NPR's largest source of revenue. The loss of federal funding would undermine the stations' ability to pay NPR for programming, thereby weakening the institution.

Elimination of federal funding would result in fewer programs, less journalism—especially local journalism—and eventually the loss of public radio stations, particularly in rural and economically distressed communities.

Social media giants Facebook and Twitter censored the Hunter Biden story soon after the New York Post published the report that is potentially damaging to the Biden campaign. Twitter suspended the official account for the New York Post on Oct. 14, and the account is still inactive.
