HEARTBREAKING story: Illegal aliens MURDERED Alexis Nungaray's daughter

On Monday, June 17, 2024, Alexis Nungaray received news that would shake any loving parent to the core. Her daughter, Jocelyn Nungaray, was murdered and thrown in a bayou of water underneath a creek.

Jocelyn was only 12 years old when she walked to the corner store to grab a soda, where she was taken and then murdered by two illegal Venezuelan immigrants: Johan Jose Martinez Rangel, 22, and Franklin Pena Ramos, 26 years old.

Border Patrol had apprehended Johan Martinez near El Paso on March 14, but he was promptly released the same day on an order of recognizance with a notice to appear. On May 28, Franklin Pena was also apprehended before being let go on a promise to appear in court at a later date.

Not three weeks later, they took Jocelyn’s life.

“The hard facts of reality is there will unfortunately be more Jocelyns, but that’s why I’m being so courageous, and that’s why I’m using my voice, since her voice was viciously ripped away from her,” Nungaray tells Alex Stein of “Prime Time with Alex Stein.”

“This unfortunately is a desperate wakeup call that this country needs to realize that Jocelyn needs to be the last Jocelyn. She needs to be the last child for this to happen,” she continues.

Stein is horrified, especially considering the Biden administration’s “catch and release” program allowed these two immigrants — who had Venezuelan gang affiliations — to roam freely on the streets of the United States.

“The fact is, they’re letting people come into this country unvetted, and a lot of these people have gang affiliations, and both of these guys had gang affiliations,” Stein says.

After the pair murdered Jocelyn in cold blood, one of the immigrants attempted to change his appearance to go under the radar.

“He had a full beard, and once he was watching the news with the still shots on them, he completely shaved his face clean, and he thought that was going to be the bandaid over his mistake, but it didn’t work because he was still caught within days of them doing what they did to her,” Nungaray explains.

While liberals have remained steadfast in their claim that illegal aliens deserve to be here, Stein doesn’t think they truly understand that this can and will affect them negatively.

“This is a serious issue that you can be affected by. Doesn’t matter your political leaning, it doesn’t matter your race, your ethnicity, you can be affected by this,” Stein says. “It’s just, you never know who can be a victim.”

Illegal alien allegedly beats man to death in Virginia after Fairfax County sheriff apparently ignores multiple ICE detainers

A Honduran national with multiple immigration detainers against him and at least one assault and battery conviction to his name allegedly beat a man to death in Virginia earlier this month.

On July 20, a resident taking a stroll down a path in a wooded area near the 9500 block of Route 29 in Oakton, Virginia, spotted "a male lying unresponsive," the Fairfax County Police Department said. The victim — later identified as 47-year-old Nicacio Hernandez Gonzalez of Fairfax — had "obvious" signs of "trauma" on his body and was soon pronounced dead, the statement added.

In response to the uproar about the immigration detainers issued against FCADC's 'undocumented' inmates, such as Guzman-Videl ... Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Kincaid wrote a letter insisting that without a judicial warrant, detainers are just 'an informal request.'

By Wednesday, three suspects had been arrested in connection with Gonzalez's death: 27-year-old Maudin Anibal Guzman-Videz, 45-year-old Wis Alonso Sorto-Portillo, and 20-year-old Wilmer Adli Guzman, who was arrested in Washington, D.C., and awaits extradition to Fairfax County. All three have been charged with malicious wounding by mob.

None of the suspects has a fixed address in the U.S., and at least one of them — Guzman-Videz — apparently has no legal right to be here in the first place.

Guzman-Videz, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, has a long history with local and federal law enforcement agencies. In November 2018, he was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol after he entered the U.S. illegally near Hidalgo, Texas. A year later, a judge ordered him deported.

Whether Guzman-Videz was ever deported is unclear, but between October 27, 2022, and June 28, 2023, ICE reportedly filed multiple immigration detainers against him with the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center — but ICE said the Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office refused to honor the detainers, WJLA-TV reported.

At least one of those detainers was in connection with a particularly brutal incident in March 2023 when Guzman-Videz reportedly broke into a building and severely beat a woman. That June, he was convicted of burglary and assault and battery and sentenced to 11 months behind bars plus a 364-day suspended sentence.

On June 17, 2024, his 11-month sentence was up, and Guzman-Videz walked out of jail. Nicacio Hernandez Gonzalez was dead about a month later.

According to WJLA, 725 "undocumented individuals" have been incarcerated at the county's adult detention center in the last 12 months. Of those 725, just three have been transferred to ICE's custody.

In response to the uproar about the immigration detainers issued against "undocumented" inmates at the county jail who have been accused of heinous violent and/or sex-related crimes, Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Kincaid wrote a letter insisting that without a judicial warrant, detainers are just "an informal request."

"ICE knows that should they wish to take one of these offenders into custody, all that is required on their part is a judicial warrant authorizing arrest," her letter continued. "ICE is notified every time an undocumented immigrant is taken into our custody. Yet, time and again, they make no effort to secure a warrant that would give judicial authority to detain."

Kincaid added, "This inaction is a failure of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, not of the Sheriff’s Office."

The sheriff and other local elected officials reportedly have attempted to implement sanctuary policies in Fairfax County. According to her campaign website, Kincaid also has received endorsements from several high-profile Virginia Democrats, including former Gov. Terry McAuliffe, former U.S. Rep. Jim Moran, and current U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly.

Mike Chapman, the sheriff of nearby Loudon County, takes a decidedly different view of immigration detainers, and he said he honors them even without a judicial warrant as an important component of keeping his community safe.

"We need to make sure that we're not keeping these people in our community that can do further harm," Chapman told WJLA. "It makes no sense to me to allow these people to stay in the area and then commit another crime if we know for a fact that they're violent and that they're here illegally."

Illegal alien accused of vicious sexual assault, allegedly told victim they would have sex 'the easy way or the hard way'

A man in the U.S. illegally has been accused of kidnapping his ex-girlfriend and attempting to rape her after she refused to get back together with him.

On June 23, Rene Cervantes-Medina — a 37-year-old Mexican national living in Lehi, Utah, which is about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City — invited his live-in partner to go to the bank so that he could repay her some money he owed her, according to a probable cause statement shared with Blaze News. When she got into the vehicle, however, Cervantes-Medina reportedly locked the doors and — instead of driving to the bank — headed for American Fork Canyon, the statement said.

'The defendant tried to pull down her pants and ripped her underwear in the process. The victim told the defendant 'no' and continued to cry and yell, at which point he hit her in the face, causing her nose and lip to bleed.'

During the drive, Cervantes-Medina told the woman he wanted to get back together with her, but she refused, the statement said. Fearing for her safety, she reportedly hopped out of the car, screamed for help, and attempted to flag down a passing motorist, but the suspect managed to restrain the victim, warning her "that if she continued to scream he would throw her into the canal they were standing next to," the statement said.

Cervantes-Medina apparently continued to drive the woman farther up the mountain road, repeating that he wanted to get back together and that they were going to have sex that day "the easy way or the hard way," according to the probable cause statement. The victim eventually attempted another escape, the statement added, after which the suspect got even more violent:

The defendant chased her, grabbed her, and threw her on the ground where her head hit a rock, causing her to nearly pass out. The defendant covered her mouth with his hand for 15-20 seconds, making it difficult for her to breathe. While the victim was on the ground, the defendant tried to remove her shirt while he was touching her breasts and vagina.

The defendant tried to pull down her pants and ripped her underwear in the process. The victim told the defendant ‘no’ and continued to cry and yell, at which point he hit her in the face, causing her nose and lip to bleed.

The suspect eventually drove the victim home but instructed her not to tell anyone, including her children, about what had just happened, the statement said, adding that if she did, "he was going to kill her."

On July 11, Cervantes-Medina was arrested and booked into the Utah County jail without bail because of an ICE detainer issued against him. He has since been charged with kidnapping, sexual assault, sexual battery, threat of violence, attempted rape, domestic violence, and theft along with charges related to drug paraphernalia, driving without a license, and using plates registered to another vehicle.

The X account Illegal Alien Crimes shared a screenshot of the suspect's booking information.

Blaze News reached out to the ICE field office in Salt Lake City for more information about Cervantes-Medina, including the circumstances regarding his entry into the U.S. While an agency spokesperson couldn't clarify when or where Cervantes-Medina entered the country, she did say he was convicted of a DUI in American Fork, Utah, in May 2007.

Illegal alien with prior deportation accused of raping child in Utah

An illegal alien with at least one prior deportation from the United States has now been accused of raping a child in Utah.

The nature of those charges is unclear, but they resulted in an immigration detainer. Fewer than two weeks later, an immigration judge ordered him deported.

Around 3 p.m. on July 4, Francisco Lopez-Ramirez, a 42-year-old Mexican national living in the U.S. illegally, was arrested in Provo, Utah. Though almost no details have been reported regarding the allegations against him or the circumstances regarding his arrest, Utah County jail records confirm not only that Lopez-Ramirez was arrested but that he was charged with raping a child and with unlawful sexual activity with a minor believed to be 16 or 17 years old.

Jail records also indicate that ICE has since issued an immigration detainer against him, rendering him "not bailable." Blaze News reached out to Enforcement and Removal Operations at the ICE field office in Salt Lake City to learn further details about the suspect.

ERO informed us that Lopez-Ramirez has at least one prior arrest from more than a decade ago that resulted in a deportation. On January 31, 2010, he was "discovered living in Utah" after he was arrested for "local charges," an ERO spokesperson told Blaze News.

The nature of those charges is unclear, but they did result in an immigration detainer. Fewer than two weeks later, an immigration judge ordered Lopez-Ramirez deported back to Mexico, the ERO spokesperson told Blaze News.

At some point since, Lopez-Ramirez must have re-entered the country illegally "without inspection by an immigration official," as ERO has no record of when or where he may have entered. Once ICE officials learned about his arrest for alleged child rape in Provo on July 4, they issued an immigration detainer for him the same day.

It is unclear when Lopez-Ramirez is next scheduled to appear in court. Jail records note only that he is 5'2", weighs 130 pounds, and has brown hair and eyes. No booking photo was provided.

Illegal alien allegedly butchers girlfriend in Texas. Jail records list his race as 'white.'

A woman was apparently stabbed to death in Texas, and police believe her boyfriend, an illegal alien, is responsible.

Around 6:15 on Monday morning, police in Irving, Texas, received a call requesting service at the 3100 block of Walnut Hill Lane, located just east of the Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport.

Aldazabal's country of origin and when he entered the US are both unknown. Of four different Texas outlets that reported on the story, only one referenced the suspect's immigration status.

When officers arrived, they made a grisly discovery: 42-year-old Sucel Cuba Gomez was lying dead in a parking lot. She had been stabbed multiple times.

Within a few hours, cops had already arrested a suspect: 44-year-old Yunier Aldazabal. Police believe that after the stabbing, Aldazabal "had fled the area in a vehicle," which was subsequently located about 20 miles east. Aldazabal was then taken into custody without incident and charged with murder.

The police press release claimed Aldazabal and the victim had been in "a dating relationship." It is unclear what evidence tied Aldazabal to the crime.

— (@)

Aldazabal remains in custody at Dallas County Jail. Jail records list his race as "white," even though other racial categories — Asian, black, Hispanic, and non-Hispanic — are available at the jail website.

Screenshot of DallasCounty.org website taken on July 3, 2024

Jail records also note that Aldazabal has an immigration hold against him because of a pending "illegal alien" charge. That hold appears to have been issued around 4 a.m. on Wednesday. It also means he has been denied bond, even though he was assessed a bond of $1 million in connection with the murder charge.

Aldazabal's country of origin and when he entered the U.S. are both unknown. Of four different Texas outlets that reported on the story, only one referenced the suspect's immigration status. The Dallas Morning News gave the information in the final paragraph, sandwiched in between statements about the murder charge against Aldazabal and a possible bond.

The other outlets — WFAA, FOX 4, and the Killeen Daily Herald — did not mention Aldazabal's immigration status at all. In fairness, the initial press release from Irving PD, posted to X at around 3:20 p.m. on Tuesday, does not mention it either, an indication that the information may not have been widely known. The Dallas Morning News story with the immigration information, however, was published about 10 minutes after the Irving PD X post.

The investigation into Gomez's death remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Hilton at THilton@cityofirving.org or (972) 721-2754. Anonymous tips can also be submitted at any time, day or night, to IPDCrimeTips@cityofirving.org or by calling (972) 273-1010 and referencing case number 24-14634.

Illegal alien with violent criminal history arrested for alleged child rape in Texas; jail records call him 'white'

The man described as "the #1 most wanted criminal illegal immigrant" in the state of Texas has been arrested, this time for allegedly sexually assaulting a child.

About a month ago, Greg Abbott, the Republican governor of Texas, issued a list of Texas' top 10 "Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants" as part of a statewide initiative to curb illegal immigration. Barely a week later, Abbott could already claim a major victory after the suspect ranked highest on the list, 38-year-old Victor Hugo Chox Gonzalez, was apprehended in Forth Worth.

"Texas captures the #1 most wanted criminal illegal immigrant. He's now behind bars in Tarrant Co. We continue our search for the other most wanted," Abbott posted to X just a few days after Gonzalez's arrest.

The current accusations against Chox Gonzalez are horrific. Among other offenses, he has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by sexual contact after warrants were issued to that effect last year.

Chox Gonzalez, a Mexican national in the U.S. illegally, remains in custody at Tarrant County Jail on a bond of nearly $150,000. Jail records list his race as "white."

This recent arrest is hardly Chox Gonzalez's first. In fact, in addition to multiple illegal border crossings, he has a history of criminal activity within the United States that dates back almost a decade.

In 2016, Chox Gonzalez was deported after a conviction on charges related to assault of a family member resulting in injury and driving under the influence. A child under the age of 15 was also a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the DUI, though whether the child was the injured party is unclear. He has been previously charged with child cruelty causing possible injury or death

In 2021, he was back in Tarrant County, Texas, and charged with assault once again, as well as failing to properly identify himself. Chox Gonzalez has a string of known aliases, including Victor Coronado Gonzalez, Arturo Sanchez, and Felix Lopez.

The Texas Department of Safety also provided several mug shots of Chox Gonzalez taken for different arrests:

When Chox Gonzalez is next to appear in court and whether he has an attorney are unclear. Gov. Abbott did not respond to Newsweek's request for comment.

Illegal alien accused of kidnapping, raping 15-year-old girl. Albany officials accused of keeping crime quiet.

Accusations of a cover-up have surfaced after an illegal alien allegedly kidnapped and raped a 15-year-old girl in upstate New York and was allowed to wander about freely for more than a month before he was arrested by police, who did not notify the public that a violent rapist had been taken off their streets.

The horrific incident occurred shortly after midnight on May 14. A 15-year-old girl had run away from a group home in Albany, New York, and was walking along New Scotland Avenue when a man in a Toyota Prius pulled over and forced the girl into the car, brandishing a metal pipe and threatening to brutalize her with it if she refused to cooperate.

'If an asylum-seeker snatching a kid (off a public street) and raping them and remaining on the loose is not a threat to public safety, then what is a threat to public safety?'

Once the girl was in the passenger seat, the car drove away and parked in an isolated area near South Pearl Street. The driver of the vehicle then forced the girl into the backseat, removed her clothes, and forcibly raped her. Scratches on the girl's legs, noted in the police report, indicated that the girl had fought back against the vicious assault.

The man then let the girl go, and she ran to a nearby residence for help. The girl gave consistent statements to police during at least two different interviews, both of which occurred weeks apart, and surveillance footage appeared to corroborate at least some of the girl's story, the Albany Times Union reported.

The girl was also able to pick her attacker out of a photo line-up, pointing to Sakir Akkan, a 21-year-old Turkish national who illegally entered the U.S. in San Diego late last November. At the time, he was arrested by Border Patrol and charged with "alien removal," but he was later released into the U.S., reportedly because of lack of bed space, and ordered to appear at an immigration hearing in February 2025. He has since attempted to be granted asylum.

Exactly when Akkan was first identified as a possible suspect in the rape of the 15-year-old New York girl is unclear. However, he was not arrested until June 18, more than a month later. Even then, Albany police did not announce the arrest to the public as they have about the arrests of other violent alleged rapists, including one who was arrested earlier this month.

When news outlets pressed about the department's apparent lack of communication, Officer Megan Craft, a spokeswoman for the Albany Police Department, indicated that police didn't see any need to spread the news widely.

"It was determined that there was no immediate threat to public safety during that time," Craft said. "Had there been a perceived threat to the public, appropriate information would have been released."

Craft also indicated that, so long as alleged sexual assaults "do not pose a threat to the public," the department has a "general" policy not to issue press releases about rape arrests "to prevent retraumatization of the victim."

However, someone familiar with the investigation who spoke with the Times Union on condition of anonymity countered: "If an asylum-seeker snatching a kid (off a public street) and raping them and remaining on the loose is not a threat to public safety, then what is a threat to public safety?"

Craft also made references to "inconsistencies" in the investigation into the rape, though the Times Union could not find any inconsistencies in the police reports or the available evidence. The outlet also expressed confusion about why such alleged inconsistences would have "had any bearing on the department’s decision not to notify the public about the abduction and sexual assault."

Albany County legislator Steve McLaughlin was likewise dumbfounded by the apparent secrecy surrounding the rape. "We are suppose [sic] to believe this wasn't covered up by the city administration?" he posted to his personal X account. "Bulls**t. This is a national story. What the hell went on here?"

Republicans in the state Senate likewise claimed the secrecy was "disgraceful" and accused city leadership of showing "a shocking lack of concern for New Yorker's [sic] safety."

Albany Police Chief Eric Hawkins slammed the accusations and claimed the department had been "grossly mischaracterized" regarding this investigation. He also insisted that Akkan's immigration status "was simply not a factor in the media release decision."

A spokesperson for Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan denied any knowledge of the rape or the immigration status of the suspect. "We were not aware of the individual’s immigration status prior to your inquiry," the spokesperson told the Times Union.

WRGB rose to the defense of "police and Democratic lawmakers in Albany," claiming that allegations of a cover-up have been made "without evidence."

Akkan remains in custody at the Albany County Correctional Facility on a charge of first-degree rape. ICE issued an immigration detainer against him two days after his arrest.

The New York Post reported that illegal immigrants from Turkey have been known to cross the southern border in the San Diego area. According to the outlet, approximately 15,000 Turkish natives were apprehended by Border Patrol in that region in both 2022 and 2023.

Courtroom gasps after illegal alien apparently admits he filmed himself raping 13-year-old in NYC park

People gathered in a New York City courtroom audibly gasped while listening to prosecutors read a transcript that apparently showed a suspect admit to police that he filmed himself raping a 13-year-old girl, the New York Post has reported.

Last Thursday afternoon, Christian Geovanny Inga-Landi, a 25-year-old Ecuadorian national who entered the U.S. illegally in June 2021, reportedly came upon two 13-year-olds, a girl and a boy, hanging out together at Kissena Park in Queens. Inga-Landi then allegedly drew a "large machete-style knife" and forced the teens to a remote, wooded area of the park, where he allegedly bound the victims together and raped the young girl, as Blaze News previously reported.

At the scene, police recovered a water bottle with DNA that matched a DNA sample Inga-Landi gave for his immigration case in 2021.

Five days later, Inga-Landi was apprehended in a citizens' arrest and then handed over to police. Not only did Inga-Landi match images of the suspect shared by law enforcement, but he also has braces and a boar tattoo across his chest, as the victims had described.

Inga-Landi has now been charged with 11 total counts, the vast majority of which are felonies. His charges include rape, predatory sexual assault, robbery, and kidnapping.

On Wednesday, he appeared in court for arraignment, his face still marked with scratches. Prosecutors did not have to do much to convince Judge Joanne Watters to deny him bail.

All they had to do was read the transcript of a video of Inga-Landi speaking with investigators. The details of the transcript included in the Post's report are bone-chilling.

During their conversation, Inga-Landi not only admitted to police that he committed the crime, but he also bragged that he filmed it, the transcript showed. "I was nervous at first, then got comfortable and recorded it," he apparently said on video, an admission that prompted "sighs from the audience," according to the Post.

He also apparently offered cops other details of the incident from his perspective. For instance, he alleged that he caught the victims having "sexual relations." He also claimed that, before the assault, he stuffed a banana in the girl's mouth, ostensibly to keep her quiet.

"I went to buy drugs, afterwards," Inga-Landi added, according to the transcript read by prosecutors.

At the scene, police recovered a water bottle with DNA that matched a DNA sample Inga-Landi gave for his immigration case in 2021. The following year, a judge ruled that he had made unlawful entry into the U.S. and ordered him to leave. Whether he ever followed that directive is unclear.

Between his history of breaking border laws and the current accusations of a vicious kidnapping and sexual assault, Assistant District Attorney Kasey Esposito requested that Judge Watters deny Inga-Landi bail. "The brazen and brutal nature of this defendant’s actions are indicative of someone who does not follow the law, and who has no regard for anybody else, but himself, and he will not return to court," Esposito argued.

Judge Watters quickly agreed, though Lisa Saltzman, Inga-Landi's public defender, did not make a request for bail during the hearing. Instead, she asked that Inga-Landi receive medical attention, which Watters granted.

Inga-Landi is scheduled to appear in court again on July 1. An investigation into the alleged film of the rape remains ongoing.

Illegal alien from Mexico allegedly causes deadly crash in Colorado; jail records list him as 'white'

An illegal alien with multiple arrests to his name and who has left and re-entered the U.S. more than a dozen times is accused of causing a crash in Colorado that left one person dead and two others injured.

Just over a week ago, Ignacio Cruz-Mendoza, a 47-year-old Mexican national, was driving a semi-truck down southbound I-285, a two-lane highway in a mountainous area of Colorado about 30 miles west of Denver. Witnesses later claimed that he was racing along dangerously fast, perhaps reaching a top speed of 80 mph.

'He may have lost his life that day, but I feel like I lost mine as well.'

Around 5 p.m., Cruz-Mendoza allegedly attempted to pass several cars. In his haste, he apparently side-swiped the cars before losing control of the truck and rolling over, causing his haul of pipe and angle iron to come crashing down on five other vehicles.

Two people were hurt during the crash, one of them seriously. Sadly, the crash also claimed the life of 64-year-old Scott Miller, a fellow truck driver and a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

I-285 had to be closed for over 12 hours as investigators processed the scene. Cruz-Mendoza claimed that the brakes on the truck had gone out, though skid-mark evidence suggested they were working to some degree.

Cruz-Mendoza was arrested at the scene and initially charged with multiple felonies, including vehicular assault and vehicular homicide. However, the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office has since reduced those charges to one count of careless driving resulting in death and three counts of careless driving resulting in injury, all of which are misdemeanors.

The DA's office claimed current evidence did not support the felony charges. Further charges may be added pending the outcome of the investigation from Colorado State Police.

Cruz-Mendoza was assessed a bond of $50,000 and remains in custody at Jefferson County Jail. Online jail records list his race as white:

Screenshot of Jefferson County Jail inmate record

This arrest is hardly the first for Cruz-Mendoza. In fact, he became a familiar face to ICE after he was arrested in Oregon more than two decades ago on a charge related to drug trafficking. He also has at least one conviction for speeding and operating without lawfully required equipment.

Since 2002, he has either been deported or returned to Mexico voluntarily at least 16 times, most recently on May 29. ICE has issued an immigration detainer against him in connection with the crash.

KDVR claimed that Cruz-Mendoza will be represented by a public defender who does not comment on ongoing cases. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for July 31.

At the time of the incident, Cruz-Mendoza had been working for Monique Trucking, though he apparently did not have a commercial driver's license. Monique Trucking also has a history of violations, 9NEWS reported. Cruz-Mendoza's truck was most recently inspected four years ago.

Denver7 reached out to the company for comment but seemingly did not receive a response.

Meanwhile, Miller's loved ones are devastated that the man suspected of killing him now faces reduced charges. "I just wanted to have the driver to have accountability for his actions," said Michelle Tusa, Miller's daughter. "He took my father’s life and he seriously injured someone else. And I want him to face what he did."

"My husband and I have been together for 46 years," said Miller's widow, Deann Miller. "He may have lost his life that day, but I feel like I lost mine as well.'"

The family hopes that Miller's death will be a warning to other truck drivers to maintain safe speeds and follow safety protocols, especially when driving through mountains. "It was of his utmost concern, the safety of the truck drivers that drive really heavy big rigs up in the mountains," Tusa said of her father.

"If his death is going to mean anything, it is going to mean people are more aware and that truckers as a profession are more careful."

Illegal alien accused of raping 13-year-old girl at knifepoint in NYC park

An illegal immigrant was apprehended in a citizens' arrest and taken into police custody after he allegedly kidnapped two teens in a New York City park and sexually assaulted one of them.

Around 3:30 p.m. last Thursday, two 13-year-olds, one male and one female, were hanging out together at Kissena Park in Queens when they were suddenly approached by a man wielding what police later described as a "large machete-style knife."

He showed up around 1 a.m. the following morning, and they immediately apprehended him, holding him in a headlock and binding his legs together with a belt until police arrived.

With the weapon in hand, the man forced the teens to walk to a remote, wooded area of the park. There, he seized their cellphones, tied them together with shoelaces, and proceeded to rape the young girl. He ordered the kids to stay put for 20 minutes and then fled the area.

The teens managed to free themselves from their bonds and ran back to their school, where they reported the attack. School officials then called police.

The victims also gave a detailed description of their attacker. They claimed he was an Hispanic man in his 20s with dark, curly hair, braces, and a chest tattoo of a bull or boar with horns.

Officers then captured images of the suspect riding a bike. They then posted the images on flyers and on social media, hoping that someone might recognize him.

— (@)

That good, old-fashioned police work paid off. Residents recognized him as living at their migrant shelter and planned to nab him if they had the chance.

On Monday night, "half a dozen good Samaritans" sat and waited for the suspect, WABC reported. He showed up around 1 a.m. the following morning, and they immediately apprehended him, holding him in a headlock and binding his legs together with a belt until police arrived.

The man was taken into police custody and then transported to an area hospital for minor injuries he sustained during his apprehension.

The man was later identified as Christian Giovani Landi, a 25-year-old Ecuadorian national who entered the U.S. illegally in June 2021. In the last three years, he has racked up several transit summonses but no other arrests, ABC News said. Whether ICE has yet issued a detainer against him is unclear.

At this point, Landi is still considered just a "strong person of interest" in the park rape, though pictures of a shirtless Landi walking with police show he has a large animal tattoo on his chest. Charges against him are pending.

NYPD Commissioner of Operations Kaz Daughtry claimed that the victims were "invaluable" in helping find their alleged attacker. "The sketches from those brave kids were invaluable," he said.

"The city's response was a resounding 'no' to this heinous crime."
