Former impeachment champion Joe Biden calls GOP efforts to hold Mayorkas accountable 'unconstitutional'



House Republicans successfully impeached Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas Tuesday night, leaving it to the U.S. Senate to decide his ultimate fate.

While historically a champion of impeachment when a Republican is in the crosshairs, President Joe Biden lashed out at those seeking to hold Mayorkas responsible for overseeing the illegal entry of several million foreign nationals into the nation. Like the DHS, Biden called the vote to impeach his DHS secretary "unconstitutional."

The vote and the articles of impeachment

Without the help of Republican Reps. Ken Buck (Colo.), Mike Gallagher (Wis.), and Tom McClintock (Calif.), the House GOP managed to pass a resolution to impeach Mayorkas in a 214-213 vote Tuesday evening.

The first article of impeachment accuses the Biden Cabinet secretary of a willful and systematic refusal to comply with the law.

Mayorkas allegedly violated "his oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, to bear true faith and allegiance to the same, and to well and faithfully discharge the duties of his office," according to the article.

The second article accuses the DHS secretary of knowingly making false statements and obstructing lawful oversight of the DHS.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection figures indicate that in Mayorkas' first nine months as DHS secretary, 1,516,650 illegal aliens stole across the southern border and into the United States — nearly quadruple the number of migrants who entered throughout the entirety of the previous fiscal year. Roughly 6 million more have entered the country in the years since.

The Democratic-controlled Senate will almost certainly refuse to charge Mayorkas, rendering the House vote largely symbolic.

Rep. Mark Green (R-Tenn.), chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, stressed that his committee's "investigation and subsequent impeachment proceedings demonstrated beyond any doubt that Secretary Mayorkas has willfully and systematically refused to comply with the laws of the United States and breached the public trust."

"With this vote, Congress has made clear that we will not tolerate such lawlessness," added Green.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said, "Secretary Mayorkas has willfully and consistently refused to comply with federal immigration laws, fueling the worst border catastrophe in American history."

"Alejandro Mayorkas deserves to be impeached, and Congress has a constitutional obligation to do so," continued Johnson.

Biden lashes out

Biden was less than pleased over Republicans' successful vote to impeach Mayorkas.

"History will not look kindly on House Republicans for their blatant act of unconstitutional partisanship that has targeted an honorable public servant in order to play petty political games," Biden is credited as saying in a lengthy statement.

Although quick to invoke history in the abstract and to paint the impeachment initiative as petty, Biden previously championed impeachment when it meant the possible removal of a Republican from office.

Biden and other Democrats sought to impeach Trump over a phone call he had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy concerning possible corruption on the part of the Biden family.

Biden even incorporated such demands for Trump's impeachment into his presidential campaign.

Time reported that while campaigning in 2019, then-candidate Biden told a small audience in Rochester, N.H., "Donald Trump has violated his oath of office, betrayed this nation, and committed impeachable acts. You know, to preserve our Constitution, our democracy, our basic integrity, he should be impeached."

In his Tuesday statement, Biden further claimed Mayorkas "has upheld the rule of law faithfully and has demonstrated a deep commitment to the values that make our nation great."

"Instead of staging political stunts like this, Republicans with genuine concerns about the border should want Congress to deliver more border resources and stronger border security," continued Biden. "Sadly, the same Republicans pushing this baseless impeachment are rejecting bipartisan plans Secretary Mayorkas and others in my administration have worked hard on to strengthen border security at this very moment."

Contrary to the president's suggestion, in recent weeks and months, Mayorkas and other elements of the Biden administration have fought not against illegal immigration but against Texas' efforts to secure the southern border. Just last month, the DHS threatened Texas after the Lone Star State seized control of a high-traffic area along the border in Eagle Pass.

A Jan. 14 letter from DHS General Counsel Jonathan Meyer instructed Texas to "remove all barriers to access to the U.S.-Mexico border."

Extra to casting Mayorkas as a man traduced, Biden accused Republicans of "playing politics with the border."

DHS echoes Biden

The DHS regurgitated the Democratic president's talking points in its response to the impeachment vote, noting, "House Republicans will be remembered by history for trampling on the Constitution for political gain rather than working to solve the serious challenges at the border."

"Without a shred of evidence or legitimate Constitutional grounds, and despite bipartisan opposition, House Republicans have falsely smeared a dedicated public servant who has spent more than 20 years enforcing our laws and serving our country," said DHS spokesman Mia Ehrenberg.

Ehrenberg further alleged that Mayrokas "will continue working every day to keep Americans safe."

Congressional investigators behind the impeachment push suggested in recent reports that Mayorkas' "open-border policies" and the illegal immigration they have ostensibly guaranteed not only impose an annual net burden of hundreds of billions of dollars every year on the U.S. economy but also exacerbate the fentanyl crisis, adversely impact public safety, contribute to a rise in human trafficking and exploitation of minors, and jeopardize public health.

House votes to impeach DHS Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas



House Republicans passed impeachment articles targeting Department of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas, sending the matter to the Senate, where it will almost certainly fail to clear the threshold required for conviction.

In the 214-213 vote, most Republicans supported impeachment. GOP Reps. Ken Buck of Colorado, Tom McClintock of California, and Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin voted against impeachment again, just as they did last week when the resolution failed to clear the House chamber.

Mayorkas, who was sworn in as DHS secretary in February 2021, has presided over the department as massive numbers of migrants have been inundating the nation's southern border month after month during President Joe Biden's White House tenure.

The first article of impeachment asserts that "Mayorkas willfully and systemically refused to comply with the immigration laws, failed to control the border to the detriment of national security, compromised public safety, and violated the rule of law and separation of powers in the Constitution, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States."

The second article declares that "Mayorkas breached the public trust by knowingly making false statements to Congress and the American people and avoiding lawful oversight in order to obscure the devastating consequences of his willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law and carry out his statutory duties. He has also breached the public trust by willfully refusing to carry out his statutory duty to control the border and guard against illegal entry, notwithstanding the calamitous consequences of his abdication of that duty."

There is likely no chance of a conviction in the Senate chamber. "The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present," the Constitution states.

The protests are a reaction to the actions of global elites, who allege that they’re trying to save the environment.

One of those elites is John Kerry, who, at the recent AIM for Climate Summit, was adamant that agriculture is a problem for the environment.

“Agriculture contributes about 33% of all emissions of the world,” he told the audience. “Depending a little bit on how you count it, but it’s anywhere from 26% to 33%, and we can’t get to net zero, we don’t get this job done, unless agriculture is front and center as part of the solution.”

“You can’t just continue to both warm the planet while also expecting to feed it. Doesn’t work. So we have to reduce emissions from the food system,” he added.

“I’m not an expert on this, but has anybody considered how many people will go hungry in the race to eliminate 30%?” Glenn asks. “Did they factor in how many ranchers and farmers will be forced into poverty? Have they thought about the ramifications of something that has taken us thousands of years to perfect — to change it in a four-year-period?”

House votes against impeaching DHS Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas



In a 214-216 vote on Tuesday, the House of Representatives voted against impeaching Department of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas, meaning that the articles of impeachment failed to clear the chamber and head to the Senate.

Three of the four Republicans who voted to oppose the impeachment push reportedly included Reps. Tom McClintock of California, Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin, and Ken Buck of Colorado. The fourth Republican who voted against it, Rep. Blake Moore of Utah, switched his vote as a procedural maneuver that enables the conference to bring the matter back to the floor in the future, according to The Hill.

One of the articles declared that Mayorkas "willfully and systemically refused to comply with the immigration laws, failed to control the border to the detriment of national security, compromised public safety, and violated the rule of law and separation of powers in the Constitution, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States."

The other article asserted that Mayorkas "breached the public trust by knowingly making false statements to Congress and the American people and avoiding lawful oversight in order to obscure the devastating consequences of his willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law and carry out his statutory duties. "Alejandro N. Mayorkas thus warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States," both of the articles concluded.

According to a New York Times Magazine piece posted last week, when Mayorkas was asked about the impeachment push, he said, "I have to tell you that I am intensely focused on the work. I have tremendous confidence in my integrity. I have tremendous pride in the people with whom I work, and that is my response." And when asked whether he viewed the process as legitimate, he replied, "I think it is baseless. I think it's a political process, and I am not engaged in politics. I'm engaged in the work of the Department of Homeland Security."

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection data, the number of southwest land border encounters has increased significantly since President Joe Biden took office in 2021. The figure, which spiked to 101,099 during Biden's first full month in office in February 2021, came in at a staggering 302,034 in December 2023. "In December 2023, the U.S. Border Patrol recorded 249,785 encounters between ports of entry along the southwest border," according to CBP. "CBP's total encounters along the southwest border in December were 302,034."

Mayorkas was sworn in as DHS secretary on February 2, 2021.

Naval officer who decapitated Iowa demon statue charged with HATE CRIME?



Former Mississippi political candidate and naval officer Michael Cassidy is facing felony hate crime charges for decapitating a satanic statue in Iowa.

The co-founder of the Satanic Temple that put the statue up claimed putting the statue in a public forum was an expression of religious freedom. Cassidy drove to Iowa to see it for himself and felt so strongly that it shouldn’t be there that he proceeded to destroy the statue.

In the charges against Cassidy, prosecutors cited a violation of individual rights under Iowa’s hate crime statute. In addition, they say evidence suggests Cassidy destroyed the statue due to the victim’s religion.

“I fail to see the victim here,” Sara Gonzales says. “Is the victim the statue? The victim is the person who created this beautiful statue that nobody wanted?”

The creators of the statue are claiming the cost to replace it is between $750 and $1,500.

“Our dark gods are cheap these days,” Chad Prather jokes.

Though he’s facing legal repercussions, Cassidy is now being hailed as a hero by many on the right — and the proof is in the GiveSendGo campaign that has raised over $105,000 for his legal defense.

While Gonzales is happy he’s being helped, she doesn’t find it comforting that Cassidy now has to take on the law.

“It’s just depressing because it’s like, well, they finally stood up and did something and what are the thanks? That they get thrown into prison? Who the hell is going to stand up next time?” Gonzales says.

HYPOCRISY: AOC calls out the GOP for weaponizing ‘impeachment’



Republicans still haven’t impeached Joe Biden or any other Biden administration official.

But that hasn’t stopped AOC from complaining about the GOP “weaponizing” impeachment on CNN.

“What they’re using and what they’re doing is taking impeachment and taking all of the most serious procedures that we have as a country,” AOC told a somber Anderson Cooper. “They’re politically weaponizing it for an election purpose, for a political purpose.”

“It’s a selfishness that really endangers this country, it endangers our electoral process, it endangers our legal process. It’s deeply cynical and it’s done to re-elect themselves and line their own pockets,” she added.

AOC didn’t mention that she voted to impeach President Donald Trump not once but twice.

Pat Gray and Keith Malinak haven’t forgotten this fact.

“How do you, as a Democrat who impeached Donald Trump twice, over what?” Gray laughs.

“Compared to what Biden is doing, absolutely nothing at all,” Malinak agrees. “You’re talking about no self-awareness,” he adds.

Senator Bob Menendez has yet to be removed as well — and his alleged crimes couldn’t offer a better reason. The Democrat senator had allegedly been working for foreign governments in exchange for cash and gold bars.

“You should be able to get rid of him with that much against him,” Malinak says.

House Republican targets Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin for impeachment



GOP Rep. Matt Rosendale of Montana has announced plans to target Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin for impeachment.

In a statement, the lawmaker pointed to the Biden administration's badly botched Afghanistan withdrawal and the infamous Chinese spy balloon that flew over the U.S. last year.

"Sec. Austin has violated his oath of office time and time again, and has jeopardized the lives of the American people," Rosendale said in the statement. "Sec. Austin is unfit for the Office of the Secretary of Defense, which is why I urge my colleagues to join me in impeaching him to protect the American people."

The congressman also claimed the cabinet member "lied to our military and the American people about his health last week."

Rosenadale's impeachment push comes amid uproar over the lack of transparency regarding Austin's hospitalization. Former President Donald Trump has called for the defense secretary to be fired and some Republicans have said Austin should resign.

Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder said in a January 5 statement that on January 1, Austin had been "admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for complications following a recent elective medical procedure." The defense secretary's chief of staff informed the White House national security advisor on January 4 about Austin's hospitalization, according to the Pentagon.

In a statement on Monday, Ryder noted that Austin was still in the hospital. "He is recovering well and in good spirits. He is no longer in the Intensive Care Unit and is recovering in a more private area of the hospital. He continues to experience discomfort but his prognosis is good," Ryder noted. "We do not have a specific date for his release from the hospital at this time but will continue to provide daily updates until then."

Impeachment evidence against Biden continues to mount



It doesn’t take much to see that President Joe Biden has committed several high crimes — which are grounds for impeachment according to Mark Levin and the Constitution.

Biden swore an oath when he came into office, and that oath has been violated.

Throughout his presidency, Biden has been engulfed in financial scandals with his family and enemies of the United States.

That includes communist China, Russians in Moscow, and the previous Ukrainian government, which Levin notes was “a puppet of Vladimir Putin and Burisma and all the rest of it — the front corporations, the money laundering, the failure to pay taxes. Mr. 10%, Mr. Big, the laptop.”

“He’s violated the United States Constitution at least three ways,” Levin adds.

He’s violated Article One when it comes to immigration.

“Joe Biden has purposefully, intentionally violated dozens of federal immigration laws, federal statutes passed duly by Congress,” Levin says, explaining that Biden has “underminded them by his actions, by his directives, by his executive orders.”

He’s also undermined them through his cabinet department of DHS and by not only not enforcing the laws but by insisting that they not be enforced.

“The mayhem that has been created in this country is unimaginable,” Levin says, referencing the fentanyl and human trafficking crisis our open border has caused.

And that’s just Article One.

Article Two says the power of the purse belongs to Congress and more specifically the House of Representatives.

“When Joe Biden decided, ‘You know what, I’m going to forgive a half a trillion or a trillion dollars in student loans because they’re my voters’” — he again violated the Constitution.

“Joe has actively gone around the Constitution, the Congress, has defied the purpose and directive of the U.S. Supreme Court and has now given away $400 to $500 billion of taxpayer dollars in violation of the Constitution,” Levin explains.

His last violation is empowering the enemy.

“What if we have a commander in chief that takes steps that actually empowers our sworn enemy. That takes steps to issue waivers that allows tens of billions of dollars to flow into the coffers of, say, the Iranian regime, a terrorist regime which has murdered American citizens,” Levin says.

“We have a president of the United States who not only gives aid and comfort to the enemy, he literally gives billions of dollars to them,” he adds.

House Republicans authorize Biden impeachment inquiry



House Republicans voted to authorize an impeachment inquiry regarding President Joe Biden, while Democrats opposed the resolution, which passed 221-212 in a strictly party-line vote.

The resolution states, "The Committees on Oversight and Accountability, Ways and Means, and the Judiciary are directed to continue their ongoing investigations as part of the House of Representatives inquiry into whether sufficient grounds exist for the House of Representatives to exercise its Constitutional power to impeach" the president.

"As President Biden continues to stonewall lawful Congressional subpoenas, today's vote of the full House of Representatives authorizing the inquiry puts us in the strongest position to enforce these subpoenas in court," House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.), House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.), and House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) said in a joint statement.

"We have seen witness testimony and bank records showing millions of dollars flowing to the Biden family from foreign adversaries. Witnesses have testified about the President’s numerous interactions with his family's foreign clients. The President and White House have repeatedly misled the public, shifted the goalposts, and stonewalled our investigation," the GOP lawmakers said.

But Biden accused Republicans of engaging in a "political stunt."

"Instead of doing anything to help make Americans’ lives better, they are focused on attacking me with lies. Instead of doing their job on the urgent work that needs to be done, they are choosing to waste time on this baseless political stunt that even Republicans in Congress admit is not supported by facts," the president said in a statement.

The House voted in favor of impeaching Trump twice during his presidential tenure, but both efforts fell short of reaching the threshold necessary for conviction in the Senate. The Senate vote during the second Trump impeachment push took place after Trump had already departed office.

8 Republicans join Democrats in referring Mayorkas impeachment resolution to committee



A push to impeach Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas was stymied on Monday when several House Republicans joined with Democrats in voting to refer the impeachment resolution to committee.

The total vote tally was 209-201 in favor of referring the resolution. This included eight Republicans joining with 201 Democrats to refer the resolution while 201 Republicans voted against the move, and 23 lawmakers did not vote, including 11 Republicans and 12 Democrats.

GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia said in a video that that four of the eight Republicans who joined Democrats in the vote serve on the House Judiciary Committee, which she said "is where my articles of impeachment on Secretary Mayorkas have been sitting, and collecting dust, for months ... without movement." She said that the resolution will now "once again collect dust."

GOP Rep. Andy Biggs of Texas declared in a statement, "I am appalled by tonight's decision to refer a motion to impeach Department of Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to committee. This House leadership ploy kills any chance of impeaching Secretary Mayorkas." Biggs noted, "I am disappointed in tonight's results but will continue to fight for the American people and ensure America's sovereignty remains intact."

"DHS Secretary Mayorkas has intentionally failed to secure the border for nearly THREE YEARS. He deserves to be FIRED. Yet tonight, 8 Republicans voted with Democrats to kill @RepMTG's resolution to impeach Mayorkas," Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia tweeted.
