Rep. Boebert to force vote on Biden impeachment for having 'intentionally facilitated a complete and total invasion at the southern border'

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) introduced articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden for his "unconstitutional dereliction of duty at the southern border" on June 13. The congresswoman made a surprise privileged motion Tuesday evening to force every member of Congress to vote on the matter this week.

House Democratic Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.) indicated Democrats will make a motion to table the resolution, thereby preventing it from reaching the floor for a vote, reported The Hill.

Ian Sams, spokesman for the White House Counsel's Office, claimed Boebert was merely trying to grab attention.

"Instead of working with President Biden on solutions to the issues that matter most to the American people, like creating jobs, lowering costs and strengthening health care, extreme House Republicans are staging baseless political stunts that do nothing to help real people and only serve to get themselves attention," Sams said in a statement.

The resolution accuses Biden of abuse of power and dereliction of duty.

Under the first article, Boebert noted that Biden "has intentionally facilitated a complete and total invasion at the southern border," having "knowingly presided over an executive branch that has continuously, overtly, and consistently violated Federal immigration law by pursuing an aggressive, open-borders agenda."

The resolution further states that Biden:

 • "purposefully and knowingly releas[ed] more than 2,000,000 illegal aliens into the interior of the United States without the intention or ability to ensure that they appear in immigration court";
 • "ended the Migrant Protections Protocols to require aliens seeking asylum to remain in Mexico while being processed by the Department of Homeland Security";
 • "refused to cooperate with State and local law enforcement officials in securing the border"; and
 • "allowed illegal aliens to enter the United States as asylum seekers despite knowing they did not qualify for asylum."

Under the second article, Boebert noted that Biden has "abandoned his duties to ensure that the laws are faithfully executed and upheld, by presiding over an executive branch that has continually, overtly, and consistently refused to enforce the Nation's immigration laws and secure the border," adding that the president "has endangered the security of the United States and the health and safety of the American people."

Boebert said in a statement last week, "Joe Biden is unable and unwilling to faithfully execute the office of President of the United States. To preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution, it is imperative that the House of Representatives impeach Joe Biden and hold him accountable for his egregious violations of his oath of office."

To impeach a president, lawmakers must make a case showing he has committed "treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors."

In Biden's case, the House, currently controlled by Republicans, would have to vote on whether to impeach. If a majority in the House votes in favor of pressing charges, the Democrat-controlled Senate must consider them at a trial with the House prosecuting the case. Two-thirds of the senators must agree to convict; otherwise the president would be acquitted.

Notwithstanding the implausibility that the House would vote to impeach Biden, Boebert intimated there may yet be hope of Democrats coming on side for the sake of the country, reported The Hill.

"We’ll see. I mean, I hope that Republicans and Democrats alike can recognize the invasion that’s taking place at our southern border and that the laws of our nation are not being faithfully executed, and that we have an opportunity to bring a check and a balance to the invasion that’s going on," said Boebert.

Boebert is not the first House Freedom Caucus member in recent weeks to have attempted to hold Democrats accountable for perceived improprieties.

TheBlaze previously reported that Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) introduced a resolution May 23 accusing Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) of abusing the trust afforded him while serving as ranking member and then chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. It further condemns him for behaving "dishonestly and dishonorably on many other occasions."

Luna's resolution states Schiff cited evidence of collusion between former President Donald Trump and Russia "that — as is clear from reports by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz, and Special Counsel Durham — does not exist. ... By repeatedly telling these falsehoods, Representative Schiff purposely deceived his Committee, Congress, and the American people."

Luna tweeted Tuesday evening that the censure vote would take place Wednesday, adding, " A majority of 20 are switching their vote to support the new resolution and some members who were out of town will be voting with us. Based on our count, Adam Schiff will be investigated by ethics and censured. Thank you to my colleagues for working with us. Accountability will be RESTORED in the House of Representatives."

Chuck Todd asks Nancy Mace if a GOP House majority would impeach Biden — is literally WOWED by her response

On NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday, host Chuck Todd asked GOP Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina if she expects an impeachment vote against President Joe Biden if Republicans take over the House after the midterm elections.

Addressing House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s “Commitment to America” agenda, Todd asked Mace, “Do you expect an impeachment vote against President Biden if Republicans take over the House?”

“I believe there’s a lot of pressure on Republicans to have that vote, to put that legislation forward, and to have that vote. I think that is something that some folks are considering," Mace answered.

"Wow!" Todd responded simply.

Todd later asked Mace how she would vote “if these impeach-Biden votes come up?"

Mace made it clear that she would vote based on the evidence against Biden.

"I didn’t vote to impeach the former president of the United States because I felt like due process was stripped away. I will not vote for impeachment of any president if I feel that due process has been stripped away for anyone," she stated. "I typically vote constitutionally, regardless of who is in power.”

“Nancy Mace suggests House Republicans, possibly including her, will vote to impeach Biden if they win power in November. Chuck Todd doesn’t bother to follow up by asking her what he would be impeached for. A failure all around.”

Todd was immediately slammed by leftists on Twitter for being a "political journalist," which is interesting given that many critics felt that the NBC host should never have invited the moderate Republican lawmaker onto his show.

“Good example for journalism students (and others!) to see how political journalists are failing you.”

“At this point @chucktodd is explicitly endorsing January 6 denialism by continuing to invite Nancy Mace onto Meet the Press”

“.@chucktodd: You asked a GOP member of Congress if they will vote to impeach President Biden when he has committed ZERO impeachable offenses. She says ‘maybe’ and you still don’t bother to ask what she would support impeaching him for. You are not a journalist. You’re a disgrace.”

“Such irresponsible journalism. Normalizing impeachment and chaos with no interrogation or analysis. What the point other than to provide an undeserved platform for fringe thinkers? @chucktodd please explain this.”

IMPEACH Biden? Author and expert on Biden family corruption says 'the EVIDENCE is clearly there'

From Hillary Clinton's email scandal to Biden family corruption to Russiagate and the Mar-a-Lago raid, it's very clear that many institutions in Washington, D.C., have a separate set of rules for former President Donald Trump — including the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation. And when you take a look at history, it's also clear that there's nothing more destructive to a free civilization than having a judicial system that favors one political side or is used to go after the other, as Peter Schweizer, author of "Red-Handed" and expert on Biden family corruption, explained.

Schweizer joined Glenn Beck on the radio program to give his thoughts on what the FBI's raid on Trump's Mar-a-Lago home was really about (hint: getting caught "jerry-rigging" the Russiagate investigation was deeply embarrassing for both the DOJ and FBI) and whether President Joe Biden will ever be held accountable for his part in alleged "major crimes and major security threats" to our country.

Asked if there is enough evidence to impeach Joe Biden if Republicans gain control of Congress later this year (and if they actually have the spine to challenge the president), Schweizer told Glenn there is enough evidence for impeachment, but removing Biden from office may be another story.

"The evidence is clearly there," Schweizer said. "My view is this has always been, not a story about the hookers, about the cocaine, about the drug abuse, and it's not even been a story just about Ukraine and Russia. For me, it's always been about espionage and about the fact that Chinese intelligence has their claws into [the Biden] family. All you have to do is look at, very simply, the four businessmen that Hunter Biden received tens of millions of dollars from in China. They're all directly linked to the highest levels of Chinese intelligence, and that ain't a coincidence [...].

"The problem that you have with elected officials, like Mitt Romney, is they really do view a high elected office as a club ... but you can't gloss over major crimes and major security threats," he added.

Schweizer later went on to add, "When it comes to Ukraine, in my mind, it's really possible to believe two things at the same time. Number one, Vladimir Putin is an aggressor that has moved into neighboring Ukraine and created this humanitarian crisis. And number two, the Ukrainian government is corrupt, and we are going to pour billions of dollars in there that's going to end up in overseas accounts. We know Zelinskyy's already done this ... the international consortium of investigative journalists, they got access to overseas bank accounts that show government officials have been ... siphoning off billions of dollars of U.S. aid. So, what you're saying is already happening, and it's a tragedy."
