'Why are you trying to write us out of history?' Feminists and anti-feminists clash over what a 'woman' is

A group of feminists and anti-feminists took part in a panel that saw heated debate over whether or not transgender women — meaning biological men — should be included in women's feminism, among other topics such as abortion and racism.

"I would never stand between anyone with a uterus from making a decision about their body," said Rebecca Faith Quinn regarding abortions, who describes herself as an "actress, writer, autistic, activist, feminist."

Another panelist described how she felt abortion access should be as ordinary and easily accessible as a simple doctor's visit:

"It's the same as going into the doctor and getting a routine check," remarked the artist who goes by AJ, the One.

"If there's something for your body that you think will not just benefit you, but help you live and also help you sustain an actual good life for your child, then that's what you need to do," she added.

For lengthy portions of the debate, the participants were not able to agree to a definition of what a woman actually is, which caused dialogue to turn into drawn-out arguments over how to specifically refer to a man who has become a woman and whether or not that change actually allows him to become a real woman.

"I am a woman ... born and raised a woman," said a panelist named Niké, "Why are you trying to write us out of history?"

Quinn, disagreeing with a biological binary, replied, saying, "You guys keep saying there's a biological reality of male and female, scientists do not agree with you."

The argument continued with the panelist's disagreements on definitions stymieing their ability to get through even examples of hypothetical situations.

“A trans “woman” would beat me up.

Why?

Because any MAN could beat me up.

These insane feminists refuse to acknowledge that FACT.”

Panelists were asked by producers to define the patriarchy, fielding vastly differing answers depending on the respondent.

Activist Deja Foxx replied, "What isn't the patriarchy? I feel like that's the better question!"

Others took a more literal approach, answering that they felt the patriarchy meant a "systemic ideal" that favors masculinity and men, or even describing it as a system that "oppresses not just women, but everyone."

However, other panelists altogether rejected the colloquial idea that they are living under an oppressive system.

"I don't even know," said Isabella Riley Moody, adding that she is "very happy to live under this so-called patriarchy."

Jill Simonian, a host for PragerU, replied that the modern definition of patriarchy "does not make any sense" to her.

"Women are not oppressed in America," she asserted.

The debate ended with an agreement that both sides indeed have a different definition of what a woman is.

'Ben Sasse is a**': Students give Nebraska senator hostile reception as he interviews for University of Florida job

Students and faculty at the University of Florida gave Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) a hostile reception at their campus in Gainesville after he was announced as a finalist to be the university's next president.

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside Emerson Alumni Hall, where Sasse was scheduled to participate in a Q&A forum with students on Monday. Minutes after the forum started, an estimated 300 anti-Sasse demonstrators entered the building and began chanting and banging on the hallway walls outside the President's Ballroom, where Sasse was trying to answer questions.

"Hey hey, ho ho, Ben Sasse has got to go," the protesters yelled. They carried signs reading, "Keep Sasse out of our swamp" and "Ben Sasse is ass."

The demonstration was filmed by reporters for the Alligator, a campus newspaper.

The shouting from the protesters drowned out Sasse's responses, and the Q&A session was cut short 15 minutes ahead of schedule, according to the Alligator.

“Obviously, I wish they didn’t have the position they have, but I strongly support the right of people to protest,” Sasse said. “I don’t precisely welcome the protesters, but I intellectually and constitutionally happily welcome the protesters.”

The protest was reportedly organized by the Alachua County Labor Coalition, Graduates Assistants United, the UF Young Democratic Socialists, United Campus Workers UF, UF College Democrats, and Take Action Florida.

After the forum ended and Sasse and the moderator, student body President Lauren Lemasters, left the room, the protesters entered and took the stage.

“If you see Ben Sasse, shout at him,” a protester said from the stage. “Scare the s**t out of him.”

“Get the f**k out of our swamp,” they gleefully chanted.

Sasse went on to participate in another Q&A session with staff and the presidential search committee, though this one was livestreamed and there was no audience. The protests continued until this final session ended.

The two-term senator was later seen being escorted into a waiting car by the University Police Department, the Alligator reported.

Sasse was announced as the sole finalist to be the University of Florida's next president on Thursday. He was the unanimous choice of the university's presidential search committee. News of his possible resignation from the Senate was first reported by KFAB-FM radio host Ian Swanson, who was employed by the Nebraska senator's office from October 2020 to February 2021.

In a statement last week, Sasse expressed admiration for the University of Florida and said the school was "uniquely positioned to lead this country through an era of disruption."

But students objected to Sasse's conservative voting record and statements defending traditional marriage. They also criticized him for only taking pre-approved questions at the Q&A forum.

“I think he’s a coward,” public relations junior Grace Smith, 20, told the Alligator. "As a queer student, I think his presence is a threat to my well-being here, and if he actually becomes president, he won’t live a day of peace.”

“He doesn’t represent who we are,” 19-year-old design sophomore Jazlyn Rivero said. “That’s why I’m here to protest the ridiculousness of this candidate.”

In 2015, Sasse criticized the U.S. Supreme Court's decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, which established a constitutional right of same-sex marriage. He called the decision a "disappointment to Nebraskans who understand that marriage brings a wife and husband together so their children can have a mom and dad" and said the court had overstepped its authority.

Dr. Paul Ortiz, a history professor, spoke at the protest and condemned Sasse for comments he made in August raising concerns about Chinese espionage in America to FBI Director Christopher Wray. Sasse, an expert on Chinese theft of intellectual property and cybersecurity, has called the Chinese Communist Party an "unparalleled security threat to the American people."

Ortiz characterized Sasse's position as anti-Asian and accused him of failing to draw a distinction between the Chinese state and individuals.

“The senator invokes the principle of collective punishment to imply that no one from China can be trusted,” Ortiz said.

“Dr. Paul Ortiz, the president of the faculty union and a professor of history, said that Sasse’s comments on Chinese students disqualify him from becoming UF president.

“When you say, ‘It could have been worse,’ that is a point of privilege,” Ortiz said.”
— Christian the Rocky Raccoon Defender (@Christian the Rocky Raccoon Defender) 1665425683

Freshman chemical engineering student Joshua Zeffren, 18, said the protest was a success because it forced Sasse to leave.

“He’s gone,” he told the Alligator. “It means we as a student body accomplished something. It means when we get together we can show administration that our voice matters.”

'This is satanic': Shocking videos from 'Drag the Kids to Pride' event at Texas gay bar show children handing money to drag queen dancers

A Texas gay bar hosted a "Drag the Kids to Pride" event where drag queen dancers provocatively gyrated in front of children as young as toddlers. Tensions flared when protesters demonstrated outside the venue hosting the drag queen show for children.

The Mr. Misster gay bar in downtown Dallas hosted the drag queen event aimed at children.

A poster for the "Drag the Kids to Pride" event claims it is the "ultimate family friendly pride experience."

"Our under 21 guests can enjoy a special Mr. Misster Mocktails while the moms and dads can sip on one of our classic Mr. Misster Mimosa Towers," the poster reads. "Do you want to hit the stage with the queens? We have FIVE limited spots for young performers to take the stage solo, or with a queen of their choosing! Come hangout with the Queens and enjoy this unique pride experience, fit for guests of all ages!"

The Texas gay bar said the "Drag the Kids to Pride" event was a spinoff of Mr. Misster's Champagne Drag Brunch – which tickets start at $25 and go all the way up to $600.

There are neon signs at the gay bar that read "It's not gonna lick itself" and "I licked it so it's mine."

BlazeTV contributor Alex Stein attempted to attend the "Drag the Kids to Pride" event but was denied access at the door. Several supporters of the drag queen event for children assaulted Stein as they attempted to prevent him from filming.

"They're bigoted," Stein said of the gay bar staff. "I can't believe they're not letting me in a gay bar – I thought you guys were inclusive?"

They're gonna groom a bunch of children," Stein screamed. "They won't let me in, but they'll let children in."

TheBlaze's Jason Whitlock: "This is satanic."

BlazeTV's Elijah Schaffer: "Grooming."

Podcast host Allie Beth Stuckey: "Every single Republican legislature should be creating a bill to criminalize drag shows that involve children. The parents, performers, bar owners - everyone should be charged with sexual abuse of children."

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh: "Every adult in the room should spend the rest of their lives in solitary confinement."

Journalist Benny Johnson: "Demonic."

Investigative reporter Drew Hernandez: "This is vile, all of these LGBTQ pedophiles should be arrested immediately And the parents that enabled this should be arrested as well. This is what happens when this crap gets normalized in society, you get gay bars grooming kids with Drag Queens."

Radio host Jesse Kelly: "Not sure people realize how painful a national course-correction is gonna be. Live it up. Have your fun. The realignment of society at the back end of this will be ugly."

Women's March, BLM activists reportedly pummel female Trump supporter, who ends up hospitalized for head, neck injuries

Female Trump supporter Isabella Maria DeLuca says Women's March and Black Lives Matter activists assaulted her in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, during a pro-Trump rally.

DeLuca shared a photo of her injuries on Twitter Saturday. Her post quickly went viral.

What are the details?

DeLuca — outreach director for Republicans for National Renewal — says she was peacefully demonstrating in D.C. on Saturday with a pro-Trump flag when a woman approached her and began attempting to take away the offending flag.

The outlet noted that DeLuca was also demonstrating to show her support for Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett.

According to the report, when the older woman approached DeLuca and could not muscle away the flag, she began hitting and punching DeLuca.

In a statement to the outlet, DeLuca said, "The first woman was a white older woman — she had glasses on, a glittery, bedazzled Black Lives Matter shirt. She looked like she could have been my grandma, honestly."

She continued, explaining that a younger woman approached the two and quickly flanked the older woman. The younger woman then also reportedly attempted to yank away DeLuca's pro-Trump flag. When DeLuca refused to give it up, the younger woman reportedly began to punch and choke her.

According to the outlet, "DeLuca said that she felt reluctant to defend herself due to the advanced age of her attacker, but was determined to retrieve the flag when it was snatched."

DeLuca was hospitalized after the attack and, according to the outlet, treated with a cervical collar due to head and neck injuries.

DeLuca shared a photo of her injuries to Twitter, captioning the snap, "The aftermath of supporting @realDonaldTrump at the Women's March today!"

What else?

On Monday morning, DeLuca — who apparently received backlash for sharing her story across social media — tweeted, "The fact I even have to come on here and defend myself to a bunch of disgusting leftists is sad. I didn't charge at a woman. She stole my flag and I put up my hand to retrieve it from the ground so I didn't get kicked while I was down on the ground."
