JK Rowling says she'll 'happily' go to prison if 'misgendering' becomes a crime in the UK: 'Bring on the court case'

World-renowned author J.K. Rowling mocked compelled speech and said she would be willing to do prison time if denying reality was the alternative.

The "Harry Potter" author has frequently entered the arena of compelled speech, women's rights, and the encroachment on women's spaces by men who believe they are women.

Most recently, she commented on the news that the U.K.'s opposition party, the Labour Party, would force compelled speech if elected into power. The party revealed that it would criminalize the act of not referring to people by preferred gender identities.

Such laws would make "misgendering" a hate crime and upgrade charges to "aggravated offences." The party would also reportedly strengthen the sentencing guidelines for what it describes as abuse and violence targeted toward transgender people.

This means that alleged transphobic actions would be equated with assault and harassment hate crimes, which carry a possible sentence of up to two years in prison.

Rowling posted a photo from the U.K.'s Ministry of Justice that read "Repeat After Us: Trans Women Are Women."

"No," Rowling wrote in response on X.

No.

A user replied to the image by saying "Vote Labour, get a two year stretch!" before Rowling revealed how far she was willing to go for free speech.

"I'll happily do two years if the alternative is compelled speech and forced denial of the reality and importance of sex," the author replied. "Bring on the court case, I say. It'll be more fun than I've ever had on a red carpet."

In June 2023, Rowling defended Elon Musk's decision to classify "cisgender" as a slur on his platform.

"'Cis' is ideological language, signifying belief in the unfalsifiable concept of gender identity. You have a perfect right to believe in unprovable essences that may or may not match the sexed body, but the rest of us have a right to disagree, and to refuse to adopt your jargon," Rowling tweeted.

To which Musk simply responded "Exactly."

'Non-man (formerly known as woman)': JK Rowling comments on glossary that defined 'lesbian' as 'non-man attracted to non-men'

Johns Hopkins University has yanked down an LGBTQ glossary that featured linguistic gymnastics in a bid to adhere to the doctrines of radical leftist gender ideology when defining the term "Lesbian."

"A non-man attracted to non-men," the definition stated. "While past definitions refer to 'lesbian' as a woman who is emotionally, romantically, and/or sexually attracted to other women, this updated definition includes non-binary people who may also identify with the label."

The glossary's definition for "Gay Man" read, "A man who is emotionally, romantically, sexually, affectionately, or relationally attracted to other men, or who identifies as a member of the gay community."

"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling, who in recent years has earned the ire of radical leftist gender ideology proponents, commented on the glossary definitions.

"Man: no definition needed. Non-man (formerly known as woman): a being definable only by reference to the male. An absence, a vacuum where there's no man-ness," Rowling tweeted.

— J.K. Rowling (@J.K. Rowling) 1686657647

Johns Hopkins University has posted a message on the webpage where the glossary was previously available.

"Johns Hopkins strives to create a campus culture that is inclusive and welcoming for all gender identities, sexual orientations, experiences and viewpoints, and we are committed to ensuring Johns Hopkins is a place where LGBTQ people feel supported," the statement reads.

"The LGBTQ Glossary serves as an introduction to the range of identities and terms that are used within LGBTQ communities, and is not intended to serve as the definitive answers as to how all people understand or use these terms," the school said. "Upon becoming aware of the language in question, we have begun working to determine the origin and context of the glossary’s definitions. We have removed the page from our website while we gather more information."

Woke CIA raises eyebrows with pro-LGBT Pride Month post

The Central Intelligence Agency is openly celebrating so-called Pride Month.

"CIA's 2023 theme for #Pride Month is WELCO-ME!" the agency declared on social media, before breaking the acronym down as, "Wellness," "Equity," "LGBTQ+," "Community," "Openness," and "ME!"

"Pride Month is an occasion for all of us at the Agency to pay tribute to the rich history, community, and mission contributions of our LGBTQ+ officers," the CIA continued.

U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio (R) responded, "Can’t believe this is real."

“Can’t believe this is real.”
— J.D. Vance (@J.D. Vance) 1686240981

"The powers that be in the Biden Administration have an agenda, and protecting the national security of America isn't at the top of that list," Republican Rep. Bob Good of Virginia tweeted.

Elon Musk joked, "I thought the CIA liked being the closet lol."

"How is this not a parody account???" Donald Trump Jr. tweeted.

Ben Shapiro described the post as "wildly dystopian."

"The CIA is a woke spa, not a spy agency to protect America from foreign infiltration," Laura Ingraham tweeted.

"Thanks for continuing to show why Americans should have NO FAITH WHATSOEVER in your ability to do your Actual Jobs. What absolutely pointless, frivolous, nonsense propaganda. Our enemies have to be absolutely LOLing at this," Chicks On The Right tweeted.

The CIA is far from the only government entity openly celebrating the LGBT agenda.

The FBI has also posted about Pride Month.

“The #FBI celebrates the positive impacts our #LGBTQ+ teammates have made on the Bureau and across the nation during #PrideMonth and every day. Thank you for your service to our communities, your dedication to the mission, and the perspectives you bring to the table.”
— FBI (@FBI) 1685631735

President Joe Biden has issued Pride Month proclamations each year of his presidency so far.

The Department of Energy, Department of Education, and Department of Agriculture all currently feature pro-LGBT rainbow flag designs behind their logos on social media profiles.

The Justice Department and the Transportation Department have openly celebrated Pride Month in social media posts.

“USDOT is proud to stand with the LGBTQI+ community. #PrideMonth”
— TransportationGov (@TransportationGov) 1685625722

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin issued a statement for Pride Month. "In 2021, I was honored to implement President Biden's directive to ensure that transgender Americans who wish to serve and meet Department standards are able to do so — openly and free from discrimination," he said in part of the statement.

JK Rowling fires back perfect response to people using children to push trans agenda: 'I almost forgot the kid was imaginary'

Author J.K. Rowling went viral on Sunday for her response to critics who use their children to attack her.

What is the background?

For years, Rowling has been attacked for believing the transgender agenda — and particularly the idea that biological men can "become women" — cheapens the value of women. Her opponents condemn her as a "TERF," or trans-exclusionary radical feminist.

Last week, Rowling once again riled up the pro-trans crowd when she responded to someone who suggested menstruation is a faulty criterion for determining what a woman is. Her interlocutor claimed that "lots of women don't menstruate," citing birth control, menopause, and hysterectomies; thus you cannot use menstruation as a boundary marker for women and men.

Rowling responded by exposing the absurdity of the logic. "Logic a nine-year-old could demolish. A) Dogs bark B) This isn't barking, therefore C) This isn't a dog."

What happened now?

On Sunday, the billionaire author of "Harry Potter" mocked trans activists who use children to bash her.

She posted several messages that she had received on Twitter. One read, "My trans daughter used to love your books, but after you became a bigot she cried and asked me, 'daddy, why do people hate those who are different from them?' I don't know baby, I don't know."

Another said, "JK Rowling, i have a 12 year old trans daughter and she cries every time she sees one of your transphobic posts. She is a huge fan of Harry Potter but seeing the author of her favorite book series being so bigoted is heartbreaking. Please, J.K, make my daughter happy again."

The messages all followed a similar pattern: a trans child who once loved Rowling's work, but now thinks Rowling is a bigot for believing that biology matters.

In response, Rowling mocked the critics and called them out for using "imaginary" children to advance the trans agenda.

"My one-year-old son just looked up from Twitter and said, 'Mummy, why have you made these very real children sad with your heinous yet unevidenced bigotry?'" she mocked. "Then he ran upstairs and burned all his Potter books. I was so damn ashamed I almost forgot the kid was imaginary."

'Dreadful news, which I feel duty bound to share': JK Rowling mocks people agitating for boycott of 'Harry Potter' television series

Author J.K. Rowling of "Harry Potter" fame appeared to poke fun at those who would agitate for a boycott of an upcoming television series based on the books.

"Dreadful news, which I feel duty bound to share. Activists in my mentions are trying to organise yet another boycott of my work, this time of the Harry Potter TV show. As forewarned is forearmed, I've taken the precaution of laying in a large stock of champagne," Rowling tweeted. In another tweet she noted, "I actually don't like champagne much."

— J.K. Rowling (@J.K. Rowling) 1682100258

A "Harry Potter" television series is slated to be created and eventually made available on Warner Bros. Discovery's upcoming streaming service called Max. Rowling "will serve as executive producer," according to a press release.

"Max's commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I'm looking forward to being part of this new adaptation which will allow for a degree of depth and detail only afforded by a long form television series," Rowling said, according to a press release about the series.

Rowling has been a target of the of the proponents of radical leftist gender ideology.

"I'm concerned about the huge explosion in young women wishing to transition and also about the increasing numbers who seem to be detransitioning (returning to their original sex), because they regret taking steps that have, in some cases, altered their bodies irrevocably, and taken away their fertility," Rowling wrote in a 2020 essay.

"So I want trans women to be safe. At the same time, I do not want to make natal girls and women less safe. When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman ... then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside," she wrote.

Discussing a "Harry Potter" video game, freelance journalist Katelyn Burns has claimed that by playing the game, people would be "boosting the profile and bottom line of the Potterverse, and therefore helping to endanger the lives of trans people. I'm not saying you have to or even should boycott the game. It's a free country, you can do what you want. But your trans friends will definitely notice you playing the game and readjust their trust levels with you accordingly," Burns wrote.

'This is disgusting': Watch JD Vance reveal environmental horrors of East Palestine train derailment

Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance (R) posted a video on Thursday showing the environmental horrors caused by the East Palestine train derailment.

Standing beside the Leslie Run Creek, Vance showed exactly what has happened to the aquatic environment around East Palestine after a Norfolk Southern train derailed and officials ignited a controlled burn of the toxic chemicals.

"There are dead worms and dead fish all throughout this water," Vance observed.

Vance then took a stick and scraped the creek bed. Immediately, chemicals bubbled to the surface of the water, resulting in a rainbow-colored sheen on the water similar to what happens when oil sits on the surface of water.

"This is disgusting," Vance said. "The fact that we have not cleaned up the train crash, the fact that these chemicals are still seeping in the ground is an insult to the people who live in East Palestine. Do not forget these people, we've got to keep applying pressure."

“Visited a local creek in East Palestine today. These waterways are still very polluted. It’s time for Norfolk Southern to finish the cleanup. Check this video out:”
— J.D. Vance (@J.D. Vance) 1676576523

On Thursday, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) released a statement explaining that FEMA told him that East Palestine is ineligible for disaster aid.

The DeWine Administration has been in daily contact with FEMA to discuss the need for federal support, however FEMA continues to tell Governor DeWine that Ohio is not eligible for assistance at this time. Governor DeWine will continue working with FEMA to determine what assistance can be provided.

Meanwhile, Environmental Protection Agency administrator Michael Regan vowed on Thursday to hold Norfolk Southern accountable for the disaster.

"We issued a notice of accountability to the company, and they’ve signed that, indicating that they will be responsible for the cleanup," Regan told CNN. "But as this investigation continues, and as new facts arise, let me just say, and be very clear, I will use the full enforcement authority of this agency, and so will the federal government, to be sure that this company is held accountable."

Norfolk Southern had planned to attend a town hall meeting with East Palestine residents this week, but backed out citing alleged concerns for the safety of its employees.

JK Rowling braves backlash after calling out dangers of forcing male and female prisoners to shower together

J.K. Rowling faced backlash on Sunday after she decried the horrifying conditions in a Scotland prison that force women inmates to shower alongside violent males.

"This is the very definition of cruel and unusual punishment," beloved Harry Potter author and philanthropist J.K. Rowling tweeted Sunday.

Rowling was responding to an article in the United Kingdom's Daily Record. The piece details ex-prisoner Amanda Benson's recounting of the terror she experienced in a Scotland prison when she was made to shower alongside "violent trans inmates."

The violent inmates to whom Benson referred were convicted of murder and domestic abuse, per the outlet. Benson was so concerned she would be raped that she had a contraceptive device implanted while she was still in prison.

"These incredibly violent men were walking around the communal shower area naked and sometimes clearly aroused," the 41-year-old mother told Daily Record.

"Neither [of the two trans inmates] appeared to be women. They dressed as men ... they sounded like men," Benson further clarified to the outlet.

"It is utterly outrageous, evil even, that we were put in a position of having to live in fear of being sexually attacked every day," she added.

Rowling continued to defend Benson on Twitter and responded to other commenters in the thread who took the opposite position — that trans women, who are biological men, showering alongside women is normal, safe, and appropriate.

The issue of biological male inmates being housed with biological female inmates is not exclusive to Scotland. It also occurs in American prisons. In 2022, a transgender Rikers inmate, Ramel Blount, was sentenced to seven years for attempted rape of a female prisoner. The incident, which occurred in 2021, reportedly took place just after the victim had just finished showering.

"A woman lived in justified terror of violence and rape because she'd been locked in with a male murderer and a male abuser of women. She had an invasive medical procedure she didn't want in case she was made pregnant against her will. 'Literally nothing happened,'" Rowling responded to another Twitter user in Sunday's thread.

— J.K. Rowling (@J.K. Rowling) 1674997986

"So do you think it would be okay for [Benson] to share showers with cis women who committed the same crimes? Cuz she did, and all women in womens' prisons do," said Eve 6000 in response to Rowling's tweet. A Canadian drag performer and eliminated contestant in season two of "Canada's Drag Race," 31-year-old Eve 6000 has more than 66,000 followers between Twitter and Instagram.

— J.K. Rowling (@J.K. Rowling) 1674997986

Upon receiving comments pointing out that violent men who target women could, conceivably, feign being trans while in prison to assure continued access to their preferred targets, Eve 6000 responded by tweeting, "The replies to this tweet are so f*ck*ng dumb lmao."

J.K. Rowling triggers backlash and hatred with one tweet about transgender misogyny

"Harry Potter" creator J.K. Rowling faced a wave of hatred and anger from transgender activists and supporters after she tweeted about the misogyny involved in the attempt to redefine women.

Rowling has been a target for the transgender lobby since she began questioning whether some policies gave preferential treatment to transgender people while putting women at risk.

On Wednesday, she earned their ire again after tweeting about the sensitive issue.

"Men defining what a woman is, what women should and shouldn’t fear, what women should and shouldn’t say, what rights women should be fine with giving up and, of course, what constitutes ‘real’ misogyny: get a bloody mirror," Rowling tweeted.

“Men defining what a woman is, what women should and shouldn’t fear, what women should and shouldn’t say, what rights women should be fine with giving up and, of course, what constitutes ‘real’ misogyny: get a bloody mirror. That’s real misogyny, looking right back at you.”
— J.K. Rowling (@J.K. Rowling) 1674646794

"That’s real misogyny, looking right back at you," she concluded.

While the celebrated author didn't use the word "transgender" in her tweet, many on the left assumed her meaning and excoriated her on social media.

"But you're perfectly fine with trying to eradicate trans women from obtaining necessary care and slate things like gender-affirming care. You DON'T speak for trans people, yet you constantly do. Be prepared to face scrutiny for your words and actions. ENOUGH," responded LGBTQ journalist Joseph Ali.

"When you are aligning yourself with far right wing white nationalists, and using your platform to demonize a group of people who were already arguably the most misunderstood and hated group of people…You might need to reevaluate your life. It is truly evil what you’re doing," replied another critic.

"Why do you care so much how someone else defines themselves? You literally ruined your entire legacy one I grew up with and shared with my children, before finding out you’re such a bigot. Let people live their lives. I’m begging you to stop. FULL STOP," said another detractor.

"Real misogyny is helping fascists rise and genociding trans people cause you feel like bored unfulfilled in your life isn't feminism," read another critical tweet.

Others applauded Rowling for standing up in defense of women and their security.

Leftist 'Star Wars' actor issues explanation on why he 'liked' J.K. Rowling's response to a transgender critic

Mark Hamill of "Star Wars" fame is explaining himself after he apparently liked a recent post by "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling.

Rowling recently responded to a tweet in which India Willoughby, a biological male whose Twitter profile includes the descriptions "trans newsreader/Loose Woman" and "Female," absurdly asserted, "I’m more of a woman than JK Rowling will ever be."

"Citation needed," Rowling wrote in response to Willoughby's remark.

“Citation needed.”
— J.K. Rowling (@J.K. Rowling) 1674411168

Hamill, an outspoken leftist who played the iconic character Luke Skywalker in multiple "Star Wars" films, apparently liked Rowling's tweet at some point.

"What I 'liked' about this exchange was someone speaking their truth to power. Twitter is, unfortunately, no place for nuance," Hamill tweeted. "It's imperative I make this abundantly clear: I support human rights for EVERYONE, regardless of their gender identity, PERIOD."

“What I "liked" about this exchange was someone speaking their truth to power. Twitter is, unfortunately, no place for nuance.
It's imperative I make this abundantly clear: I support human rights for EVERYONE, regardless of their gender identity, PERIOD.”
— Mark Hamill (@Mark Hamill) 1674599179

Rowling has earned the ire of radical leftist gender ideology proponents because she recognizes biological sex and has been outspoken in support of protecting women's rights in the face of the transgender movement — she has also expressed concern about the impact of the movement on young women.

When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman [...] then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside. That is the simple truth," she wrote.
