Horowitz: Where is the red-state Laphonza Butler?

Democrats have installed their “lesbian powerhouse” in the U.S. Senate. Where are the “patriot powerhouses” in the red states? And why have we lacked the numbers to nominate a speaker of the House who fully shares our values and interests?

The way to change the fundamental imbalance between the parties is by reforming the way we select nominees.

Following the sudden death last week of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), Governor Gavin Newsom needed to pick an interim replacement. He had a large bench of Democrats from which to choose in the once Golden State. So what did he do? He went with the biggest leftist imaginable — a registered voter from Maryland, no less!

In Laphonza Butler, Newsom didn’t find only a reliable leftist vote but also a ferocious voice and leader for every cause Democrats hold dear. By selecting a lesbian activist who is the head of the most prominent pro-abortion organization in the country, Newsom figured he’d floor the gas pedal in a state where Democrats cannot lose and elevate an out-of-state resident who has never held office. Why? Because it serves their interests.

So ... who is our Laphonza Butler? Who has championed and led our most important causes for years? Why are red states teeming with milquetoast Republican state officeholders? Why is it practically impossible to nominate — let alone elect —solid conservatives apart from certain districts in the House of Representatives?

You’d be hard pressed to find a single Democrat outside a swing state who dissents from the party line on a single issue of significance. Yet when you flip the tables, you won’t find a single Republican from a solidly red state who does not harbor some liberal views on critical questions, whether it’s illegal immigration, gay marriage, green energy, or — especially! — Ukraine. Few if any elected Republicans are entirely in line with their base.

The few Republicans who are good on one issue will usually screw us on another critical issue. One might be good on medical freedom but crush us on gay marriage. Another one who is strong on social values will shill for Ukraine or open borders. Even Utah’s Mike Lee, who arguably has the most consistent conservative voting record in the Senate this past decade, is passionate about freeing criminals and handing out more visas.

Republican governors aren’t much better. Why do we keep talking about Ron DeSantis? Because he is the only red-state governor willing to power through corporate politics, identity politics, and the temptation of federal funding. Every other Republican governor supports some level of illegal immigration, mass vaccination, funding for Ukraine, and green energy subsidies. The imbalance between the parties is simply unsustainable.

On the other hand, good luck finding a single Democrat from a blue state who is content with Obama-era liberalism, which looks perfectly moderate compared to the agenda Democrats are pursuing now.

How it is that Democrats have so much unity while Republicans have been mired in fights over the speakership for 10 years? Democrats had the same slim majority in the last Congress and accomplished so much more from their perspective.

Amazing when you think about it. The House Republican rank and file has been in a fight with their party's leader/speaker for 12 years straight.
— Jake Sherman (@Jake Sherman) 1696362133

Donald Trump also lamented the speaker fight and observed, “Republicans are always fighting among themselves.” Well, it’s no mystery why. Democrats fully support every major and minor policy goal of their base. Republicans are often on the other side of their base on the issues that matter when they matter most.

Something has to give. We can put stock in the new speaker’s election, but the ongoing challenge is that most of the GOP conference will choose leadership out of step with the party’s base.

Short of starting a new party, the only solution I see is to elect a critical mass of game-changers in one election cycle. The problem is that primaries, especially in statewide elections, cost too much money for those types of candidates who want to cut out the GOP donor class. Which is why status quo Republicans continue winning elections.

The only way to change the game is to have state parties change the method of selection from direct popular primaries to representative conventions. Utah once had this model (before Romney gutted it), and indeed this is how we got someone like Mike Lee to defeat a long-standing incumbent, Bob Bennett, in 2010.

The benefits of representative conventions to choose party nominees are immeasurable.

In most states the selection process would be dominated by grassroots activists. Money and media would play a relatively minor role in choosing the nominee because the activists know who these people are and would not be fooled by RINOs putting out slick anti-leftist ads, such as Mitch McConnell promising to repeal Obamacare “root and branch.”

Conservatives could put several Senate seats and dozens of House seats in play every cycle in the 25 more conservative states. Knowing an insurgent candidate could knock them out at a convention — as Lee took down Bennett in 2010 — would encourage milquetoast Republicans to change their behavior. Under the current system, primary challenges are so unsuccessful that they rarely serve as a deterrent in the long run.

The prospect of winning with a grassroots ground game, without the need for a massive (and massively expensive) media campaign, would attract better conservative talent to run for office.

Selecting state government officials through conventions would also help states resist federal tyranny. Right now, Republicans control the trifecta of state government in 24 states. Yet conservatives cannot count on a single state to fight consistently for conservative causes because either the governor or state legislative leaders are part of the GOP establishment.

Direct primaries are a relic of the Progressive Era. Until 1912, most states still used the convention method during presidential election years, but that changed with the emergence of Teddy Roosevelt as a Progressive leader. As historian and Progressive Era scholar Sidney Milkis observed, Roosevelt’s “crusade made universal use of the direct primary, a cause célèbre.”

Roosevelt went on to win most of the primaries, but conservative William Howard Taft won the states that still had conventions and ultimately won the Republican Party’s nomination for president. Roosevelt’s views lived on, however, through the election of Woodrow Wilson. It’s no coincidence that Progressives succeeded at changing the nominating process precisely as the “newly emergent mass media” became dominant in our political culture, as Milkis noted.

Direct primaries have gotten us generations of uniparty Republicans backed by the media, big donors, and corporate interests that work together to hoodwink low-information GOP voters who broadly share our values but are uninformed about the records of so many red-state Republicans.

Moving to representative conventions is the only way to have a fighting chance of bypassing the corrupt Republicans who use donor cash to run on conservative issues but govern the other way. It is the only way to match the blue-state crazies with conservatives who will fight back with equal and opposing force. Absent this change, there is no future for people like us in the Whig Party 2.0.

The president's latest face-plant stokes fears that Harris' ascension is only 'a Biden fall away'

President Joe Biden has publicly fallen on multiple occasions, but perhaps never so heavily in the minds of prospective voters as when he dropped during the U.S. Air Force Academy's June 1 graduation ceremony in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Vividly reminded of the president's decrepitude, which Biden's handlers have been struggling to rhetorically soften with self-deprecating humor in the 80-year-old's speeches, critics and allies alike have once again been confronted with the fact that the serially unlikable vice president "is a Biden fall away from being in the Oval Office."

Far-shot Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, who tied with former Vice President Mike Pence in the most recent Roanoke College poll for a meager seven points, told "Fox & Friends" Monday that a vote for Biden in the upcoming election is "actually a vote for president Harris. We are running against Kamala Harris. Make no bones about it. The New York Times knows it. Every liberal knows it. They know that it's Kamala Harris that's going to end up being president of the United States if Joe Biden wins this election."

Greg Swenson, chairman of Republican Overseas UK, told GB News, "It's really not funny anymore and I think there's a great risk here. He's showing that he just doesn't have the cognitive ability to function and this is just another example of it. ... Again, it's not funny. He hits his head on one of these falls and we have President Kamala Harris and that should frighten everybody."

"Naturally, the far left would be celebrating the fact of the first female president, heedless of the risks of identity trumping merit," Michael Goodwin wrote over the weekend for the New York Post. "Meanwhile, the sensible Americans who make up a majority of the nation would be living in fear of the human word salad playing with the nuclear football and the possibility that her cackle could be the soundtrack of Armageddon."

While Biden's motor and cognitive challenges might present Harris with an opportunity she proved otherwise incapable of seizing by herself in the 2020 Democratic primary, Goodwin suggested they present Republicans with an even better opportunity to win: "If he falls and can’t get up close to next year’s election, they are almost certainly sunk regardless of whom Republicans nominate."

Biden presently has a job disapproval rating of 54%, according to Rasmussen Reports. A recent AP-NORC survey revealed only 37% of party respondents want him to run again.

A recent NBC News survey of 1,000 adults, conducted April 14-18, found that 70% of respondents, including 51% of Democrats, don't think Biden should run again, with the majority citing age as a key reason behind their opposition.

TheBlaze previously reported that failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton admitted, "His age is an issue, and people have every right to consider it."

Even Biden has acknowledged he's leading on borrowed time.

The president told the host of MSNBC's "The Sunday Show," Jonathan Capehart, in October that "I think it's a legitimate thing to be concerned about anyone's age, including mine. I think that's totally legitimate."

"I could drop dead tomorrow," said Biden. "I think people should look and say, 'Is he still have the same passion for what he's doing?' And if they think I do and I can do it, then that's fine. ... If they don't, they should vote against me."

The prospect that a vote for Biden is tantamount to a vote for a possible-President Kamala Harris, whose average unfavorability rating is 52% according to RealClear Politics, may do little to sweeten the deal.

After all, not even the White House appears to be enthusiastic about Harris, with officials complaining about her not "rising to the occasion," her inability to take "things off his plate," and her propensity for "word salads" — and they are desperate for her to carry her weight going into the election.

Federalist editor in chief Mollie Hemingway appeared to agree with the critical elements of Biden's team, telling Fox News Sunday that "Democrats are in a conundrum because they really can't get rid of [Kamala Harris]. That would be something that would anger a portion of their electorate that they need, but she's not helping out the ticket in any way."

The Democratic field presently only offers the alternatives Robert F. Kennedy, polling at 20%, and Marianne Williamson, who is netting on average fewer than 10 points.

Goodwin indicated that if Kennedy is able to gain significant momentum over the summer, he might be able to compel Biden to engage him in debate, which Democrats previously banned allegedly for fear of the octogenarian "talking himself into deadends, lapsing into gibberish or doing a face plant in prime time."

Biden finds scapegoat to blame for his big fall — then reporter reveals what happened when he exited Marine One

President Joe Biden went viral Thursday after he tripped and fell on stage at the Air Force Academy commencement.

The incident immediately triggered renewed concerns about Biden's health. Though his physician says he has the physical fitness required to be commander in chief, Biden is 80 years old, which means any fall is concerning and potentially detrimental to his health.

“BREAKING: Biden takes a big fall on stage just now at the U.S. Air Force Academy graduation”
— Jake Schneider (@Jake Schneider) 1685645430

But the White House quickly found its scapegoat for the fall: sandbags on the stage.

"He's fine. There was a sandbag on stage while he was shaking hands," White House communications director Ben LaBolt said.

And upon returning to the White House, Biden told reporters, "I got sandbagged."

There were, indeed, sandbags on the commencement stage. According to the Associated Press, "Two small black sandbags had been onstage supporting the teleprompter used by Biden and other speakers at the graduation."

Video of the incident shows Biden walking behind the teleprompter staged to the left of the lectern before falling. If it is true that one of the sandbags initiated the fall, one wonders why Biden didn't simply walk over the sandbag.

What else happened?

When Biden returned to the White House on Marine One, he reportedly bonked his head on the frame of the helicopter.

Reporter Noah Robertson, who works for the Christian Science Monitor, reported:

[Biden] bumped his head on the doorframe while exiting the helicopter but otherwise appeared spry, wearing a blue suit with a matching tie and trademark aviators. Smiling, waving, and gingerly approaching the pool, he joked "I got sandbagged" in reference to the fall earlier today. Then he skipped once, holding his smile, and kept walking.

Last month, a new ABC News/Washington Post poll found that a majority of Americans believe Biden no longer possess the physical or mental capabilities required of the president.

Former MMA champ challenges 10 trans men in row to fight 'since trans men are real men' — 1 accepts, reportedly boasts 'I’m specifically going to f*** you up'

Former MMA champion Jake Shields — an outspoken opponent of transgender culture — recently issued a challenge: He'll fight 10 transgender men (i.e., biological females who identify as male) in row with no breaks "since trans men are real men."

Well, one trans man accepted — and reportedly told Shields, "I’m specifically going to f*** you up."

Readers of TheBlaze may recall the challenger in question: In 2017, Mack Beggs — then 17 years old — made national news by taking a Texas girls' 110-pound wrestling championship. Beggs, a biological female, had been taking testosterone and reportedly wanted to wrestle boys instead of girls, but Texas athletic rules wouldn't allow it. Beggs repeated as Texas girls' champion in 2018.

What are the details?

Shields issued the challenge last month:

“Since trans men are real men I would like to challenge the 10 toughest trans men in the world to a fight

I fight them with no training camp and no rest between each fight”
— Jake Shields (@Jake Shields) 1682025429

"Since trans men are real men, I would like to challenge the 10 toughest trans men in the world to a fight," Shields tweeted, adding that there would be "no rest between each fight."

Later that day he added, "A million views and not a single trans man has stepped up to accept my challenge. I’m starting to think they don’t have the balls to fight me."

Challenge accepted

According to OutSports, Beggs soon accepted Shields' challenge. The outlet linked to Beggs' Instagram page quoting Beggs' reply, but that page is "no longer available."

OutSports quoted Beggs as saying, "Where’s the contract[?] But we ain’t doing no 10 on 1. Be a f***ing man and run it up 1v1. Or is beating up on 10 men will make you feel better about your manhood [sic]."

OutSports also quoted Beggs as saying “I’m about to beat this m-fers ass if it comes down to it." The outlet noted that a follow-up Instagram video (which strangely also is "no longer available") from Beggs taunted Shields’ offer as a joke, saying it was “disrespectful” to MMA fighters.

“If you call yourself a fighter, do it f***ing right,” Beggs said, according to OutSports.

OutSports also quoted Beggs as saying, “I’m specifically going to f*** you up Jake Shields personally."

Shields — who's quite a bit older (44) and heavier than Beggs — hasn't appeared the least bit impressed by Beggs' challenge acceptance:

“This is a real picture from a real news article about a trans “man” whos gonna beat me up 😂😂😂😂”
— Jake Shields (@Jake Shields) 1683326114

Will the fight actually happen?

It's impossible to say if the fight between Shields and Beggs will take place. That said, Beggs did hit Instagram with a video over the weekend. (Content warning: Language):

"The only reason why trans guys haven't gotten opportunities like this is or at the pro level is because they don't see us as real guys," Beggs said. "That doesn't mean we don't know how to kick somebody's ass, or that we don't train as well."

Beggs then taunted those who believe Shields would easily triumph in a fight: "You know what? Doubt me. I wan't you to doubt me so hard. ... I f***in' enjoy that s**t. I eat that s**t up. I eat that s**t for breakfast. Like, y'all don't know what I'm capable of ..."

Beggs added that if the fight with Shields "does end up happening," it won't be alongside other trans males: "It's only gonna be a single fight. It's gonna be done right ... but keep doubting me."

UFC legend Nate Diaz wanted in New Orleans on battery charge after allegedly choking TikToker in Bourbon street scuffle

UFC legend and soon-to-be pro boxer Nate Diaz is wanted in New Orleans, Louisiana, after a scuffle outside a boxing event resulted in an altercation where Diaz reportedly choked a man unconscious.

Diaz is wanted on second-degree battery, according to Fox News, stemming from a Misfits Boxing event Diaz attended in support of a friend on April 21, 2023.

Police responded to a "large altercation" early the next morning, finding a man who appeared to be unconscious whom officers saw "bleeding from the rear of his head."

"After investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Nate Diaz," according to police. "He has been charged with second-degree battery."

A man appearing to be Diaz was seen on video standing in front of another man before the two engaged. Diaz then rendered the man unconscious with a standing guillotine choke.

Former UFC fighter Jake Shields took to Twitter in defense of Diaz, posting a frame-by-frame breakdown of the altercation and saying that Diaz was acting in self-defense.

"I'm biased, but this is clearly self-defense," Shields concluded.

The man at the other end of the altercation was reportedly TikTok creator Rodney Petersen, who has over 200,000 followers on the platform.

Petersen appeared in a video with what appeared to be a head laceration he suffered after hitting the ground unconsciously.

“So, I don’t know what the hell I did to Nate Diaz,” Petersen said, with blood seemingly on his neck and head. “But I tell you what, I’m going to knock him the f*** out when I know he’s coming. You caught me off guard, dude. What’d you think I was, Logan?”

UFC President Dana White remarked on the altercation, saying that Diaz is "going to get sued like a motherfu**er," according to the Daily Mail.

"That guy's head bounced like a f***ing basketball," White also said.

Diaz's last UFC fight was in September 2022, when he defeated fellow legend Tony Ferguson. The 38-year-old claims he still intends to fight Conor McGregor for a third time, telling McGregor's next opponent, Michael Chandler, in March 2023 not to defeat him.

Diaz is currently scheduled to fight YouTuber turned pro boxer Jake Paul in August 2023.

Tech titan associated with Android, Cash App stabbed to death in San Francisco

Tech titan associated with Android, Cash App stabbed to death in San Francisco

An influential member of the tech industry has died after a horrific stabbing in San Francisco, California.

Around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning, San Francisco police responded to a call about an attack on Main Street in SoMa, an entertainment and financial district on the city's east side. When officers arrived, they found a man "suffering from apparent stab wounds." The man was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The victim was later identified as tech titan Bob Lee, known on social media as Crazy Bob. He was just 43 years old. According to SFPD, no suspect has been arrested in the case, which remains under investigation.

During his relatively short life, Lee was closely associated with some of the biggest names in Big Tech. He first established himself at Google, where he helped develop a core library at Android. Lee then began working with Square, now known as Block, a mobile digital payment device. In 2013, when he was in his early 30s, Lee founded Cash App, another virtual payment application associated with Block. In 2021, Cash App reported a gross profit of $1.8 billion.

Josh Goldbard, the CEO of MobileCoin, where Lee had been working when he died, issued a statement about his death. "Bob was a dynamo, a force of nature. Bob was the genuine article. He was made for the world that is being born right now, he was a child of dreams, and whatever he imagined, no matter how crazy, he made real," the statement read in part.

Others inside and outside the tech community expressed their grief about Lee's unfortunate passing.

"Heartbreaking," said former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. "Bob was instrumental to Square and Cash App."

"So sad to hear of @crazybob’s untimely passing. I first met him in summer 2006 — he didn’t care that I was only 14 and we talked tech / geeked out about programming..." wrote Figma CEO Dylan Field. "It’s so hard to believe he is gone."

Others, including Twitter's new CEO, Elon Musk, have pointed to local soft-on-crime policies as an underlying cause of Lee's early, violent death.

"Very sorry to hear [about Lee,]" Musk tweeted. "Many people I know have been severely assaulted. Violent crime in SF is horrific and even if attackers are caught, they are often released immediately. Is the city taking stronger action to incarcerate repeat violent offenders @BrookeJenkinsSF?"

“@jakeshieldsajj Very sorry to hear that. — Jake Shields (@Jake Shields) 1680663706

"He was in the ‘good’ part of the city and appeared to have been targeted in a random mugging/attack," wrote UFC/MMA fighter Jake Shields, Lee's friend.

"I don’t know how to fix what’s wrong, but I know something isn’t working in our grey city," Goldbard of MobileCoin continued. "Bob left this world too soon."

Lee is survived by at least two daughters. It is unclear whether he was married.

Storm envelops Texas driver, who calmly notes: 'I am in a tornado'

Blake Foster was driving through a storm in Grapevine, Texas, on Tuesday, when extra to globs of rain, his car was pelted with debris, including a trash can and an umbrella.

While it was later confirmed that a probable tornado had swept through the area and injured at least five people, Foster evidently had his suspicions in the moment.

KDFW reported that Foster, who had been headed home, spotted trouble ahead and let it pass.

In the video of the encounter, Foster can be heard calmly noting that the storm is "coming right across" the street.

The agent of destruction and disorder ignored traffic signals and barreled right into Foster's Toyota Tundra, made in Texas.

Amid flashes of light, the drumroll of debris against his vehicle, and diminished visibility, Foster announces, "I'm in a tornado."

The National Weather Service has confirmed that six tornados rocked Northern Texas on Tuesday, touching down in Northeast Tarrant County, Wise County, Lamar County, and in Forth Worth.

While only six have been confirmed so far, Northern Texas may have been swept by as many as 12 tornadoes on Dec. 13.

“Here's a PRELIMINARY look at the damage areas from possible tornadoes across N TX today. As of 4 pm, 5 tornadoes are confirmed via video/eyewitness evidence. Storm surveys have begun, but many will be completed Wednesday. Potentially 12 tornadoes may have occurred. #dfwwx #txwx”

NWS meteorologist Jason Dunn told Axios that on account of the humidity in the air, the wind shear, and the arrival of a cold front, "It's not completely uncommon to get tornadoes in December. Any time you get those ingredients together, it can happen any time of the year."

A trail of destruction

In recent days, much of the nation has been swept by treacherous storms, but perhaps nowhere with greater kinetic consequence than in Northern Texas, Southern Oklahoma, and Louisiana.

The Associated Press reported that two people were missing after a tornado tore through Louisiana, just 10 miles outside Shreveport.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office indicated that a boy had been found dead near Keithville, Louisiana, where his home once stood.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator told KSLA, "We couldn’t even find the house that he was describing with the address. Everything was gone."

A woman was also found dead nearby.

KSLA reported that 25 were injured in Farmerville, La. Entire buildings were razed:

Baltimore Ravens star QB fires back after ESPN reporter accuses him of using 'anti-gay' slur: 'This is defamation'

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson rebuked an ESPN reporter on Monday who accused him of using an "anti-gay" slur.

What is the background?

After the Ravens lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday by a score of 28-27, Jackson responded to a Baltimore fan who criticized him.

The fan, referring to Jackson seeking a fully guaranteed contract as one of the league's top quarterbacks, said that Jackson's performance on Sunday did not warrant such a deal. Jackson, however, vehemently disagreed.

"Boy STFU y’all be cappin too much on this app mf never smelt a football field never did shit but eat dick," Jackson responded.

What was the accusation?

Jackson deleted the tweet, but that did not stop ESPN writer Jamison Hensley from charging Jackson with using an "anti-gay phrase," an accusation that in today's political environment often results in being canceled.

Hensley wrote:

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson responded to a social media post Sunday that criticized his performance with a profanity-laced tweet that included an anti-gay phrase.

Jackson responded to the accusation on Monday by accusing Hensley of defamation.

"This is Defamation of my character, Because not once have I ever mentioned or disrespect anyone’s Sexuality, sexual orientation, gender, Religion or Race. Your (sic) reaching…" Jackson said.

— Lamar Jackson (@Lamar Jackson) 1669650520

Anything else?

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told media on Monday that he had met with Jackson to discuss the "out of character" remark. Still, he defended his quarterback.

Harbaugh explained that he tells his players "not to get into the Twitter world right after the game, especially after a loss. It's never going to be positive, it's not going to be a nice place."

"I think that's kind of reflected in Lamar's response because what he said was just so out of character for him. That's not the way he speaks. That's not the way he talks. That's not the words he ever uses. I've never heard him say things like that before," the coach added. "I'm sure he's frustrated, just like we all are. That's just a place you don't want to live right after a game. I know he understands that."

Kamala Harris mocked for rambling 'word salad' answer to why Democrats didn't codify Roe v. Wade: 'What is she saying?'

Vice President Kamala Harris was stumped by a question about Roe v. Wade, and proceeded to give a rambling answer.

During a CBS News interview, correspondent Robert Costa asked Harris, "When you look back, did Democrats fail – past Democratic presidents, congressional leaders – to not codify Roe v. Wade over the past five decades?"

Harris immediately ceased having eye contact with Costa, looked away, then gave a meandering response.

"I think that, to be very honest with you, I do believe that we should have rightly believed, but we certainly believe that certain issues are just settled. Certain issues are just settled," Harris rambled.

Costa quickly rebutted, "Clearly were not."

Harris replied, "No, that's right. And that's why I do believe that we are living, sadly, in real unsettled times."

Vice President Harris was lampooned for her blathering response in numerous Twitter reactions.

Digital strategist Logan Hall: "Mastered the art of talking while saying nothing."

Progressive YouTuber Emma Vigeland: "This is incoherent. Is everything ok…?"

Former digital media adviser to Hillary Clinton Peter Daou: "WHAT IS SHE SAYING?"

Radio host Clay Travis: "How is it possible that Kamala Harris is this bad at public speaking?"

Writer Ryan Songalia: "Captions need a bouncing ball to follow along with the words."

"The Simpsons" writer Broti Gupta: "Kamala Harris talks like she has a translator earpiece on and it has water damage."

Republican consultant Erin Perrine: "Biden-Harris: The Ron Burgundy—Word Salad Chef Administration."

Radio host Erick Erickson: "Holy cow what a bad answer. This is going to cause a Dem revolt. The GOP has been after this for decades. But the Dems thought it settled so did nothing?!"

Editor Curtis Houck: "What is with this administration and an aversion to basic speaking skills and grasp of the English language?"

Kamala was also mocked this week for being "seriously" repetitive while giving a speech at the site of the 4th of July parade shooting in Highland Park, Illinois.

"And — and we’ll deal with what we need to deal with in terms of also, as we move forward, all agreeing that we’ve got to be smarter as a country in terms of who has access to what and, in particular, assault weapons," Harris told the crowd.

"And we got to take this stuff seriously, as seriously as you are — because you have been forced to have to take it seriously," Vice President Harris blithered.

On Friday, Harris met with state legislative leaders from Indiana, Florida, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Montana who are seeking to expand abortion in their states.

Harris was repetitive once again.

The vice president uttered, "Well,thisreallydoeshighlight,um,theimportanceofelectionsandwhowillbeelectedintermsofwhogetselected."

Also during the meeting, she said, "We cannot wait for Congress to act. Congress must act but also we cannot wait for Congress to act."

However, it wasn't only the vice president who had a difficult time talking this week. President Joe Biden also suffered yet another round of verbal gaffes this week.

While speaking about a new executive order on abortion, Biden read instructions to "repeat the line" out loud from the teleprompter instead of repeating the line.

The president also read the words "end of quote" aloud instead of acknowledging that it was an end of a quote.

The White House assistant press secretary and the White House official transcript attempted to cover for President Biden by claiming that he said, "let me repeat the line," despite video evidence that he actually said, "repeat the line."

Kamala Harris is serious about taking stuff seriously in her latest SERIOUSLY embarrassing speech

Vice President Kamala Harris wants you to know that we seriously have to take serious stuff super seriously, and, sadly, we're being perfectly serious — the vice president of the United States has made yet another seriously embarrassing speech.

Our nation's second in command has become known for her embarrassing habit of impersonating a broken record. Like when she got stuck repeating the word "joy" over and over during a painfully awkward interview with MSNBC's Joy Reid. Or the time she weirdly repeated the phrase “the significance of the passage of time” four times in less than 30 seconds. And who could forget the strange "word salad" speech in which she repeated the phrase "work together" six times in a single rambling sentence?

During a statement Wednesday on the tragic July Fourth mass shooting in Highland Park, Illinois, Harris appeared to be trying to convince us all that she's taking "this stuff" very seriously.

“We have to take this stuff seriously, as seriously as you are, because you have been forced to take this seriously,” Harris stated.

The vice president was immediately and quite “seriously” lambasted on Twitter:

“@TPostMillennial Better Kamala: The seriousness of what happened here is, by it’s very nature, serious. When we evaluate the seriousness of a situation like this, we can come to only one conclusion; that this is a serious situation and it requires serious consideration from serious people”

“@TPostMillennial Being serious is seriously a serious concern and people need to seriously be serious on these serious issues.”

“@JakeSheridan_ Is she given a key word/phrase of the day to use and given extra points for the number of times it is used?

Or do her speech writers play a drinking game with the key word/phrase of the day?”

“@JakeSheridan_ But seriously, folks, when we seriously consider the serious implications of these serious actions and times, the severity of the seriousness of what occurred will dawn on us, and we will seriously recognize it is serious.”
