Is House speaker releasing Jan. 6 footage to Blaze News?

Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida confirmed a report that newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson is fast-tracking the release of the security footage from the Jan. 6 rioting at the U.S. Capitol.

"I can confirm that this is true and something is in the works," said Luna on social media Friday.

"We're going to be releasing more and making it more available to the public," she added in a second post.

Luna was referring to a statement from Blaze News investigative journalist Steve Baker, who said he was working with the speaker's office for the release.

Baker said it was up to Johnson whether he would release all of the 40,000 hours of footage or part of it.

Blaze Media editor in chief Matthew Peterson said in a statement that he could not confirm a report from activist Ryan Fournier claiming all of the footage would be released to Blaze News.

"It is certainly true that we have been putting pressure on House Republicans to give us access and approval. As I said last week, it's time for the House Republicans to keep their promise," said Peterson.

Blaze News has already succeeded in obtaining previously unreleased frames from USCP CCTV video footage through the efforts of Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), chairman of the Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Oversight.

"We've made some progress, and the statement given to us today from Representative Loudermilk is proof of this. But I have not yet heard anything about any of what Fournier says from the Speaker or his office," Peterson added.

"I like to think Speaker Johnson will give us access. But I will only believe it when I see it," Peterson concluded.

Critics of the prosecution of participants of the Jan. 6 rioting have accused the Biden administration of hiding evidence that contradicts the official narrative about the events on the day of the rioting.

In October, the Department of Justice said in a report that 1,069 individuals had been charged with crimes related to the rioting on Jan. 6. Of those, 594 individuals have pleaded guilty — 160 to felonies and 434 to misdemeanors.

Carlson: 'I know deception when I see it'

Tucker Carlson’s been under fire the past few days, and a lot of it has to do with his recent discovery.

What was it?

Well, he received never-before-seen tapes of the so-called violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th and joined Glenn Beck to talk about them.

One of the clips shows the infamous “shaman” from the tapes being led through the Capitol Building by police, calmly and alone.

He explains that he “can't even guess as to what motivated them, to what we’re looking at here — but what [he] can guess is that this is not an act of violent terrorism.”

When pressed on why we’ve been told the riots were something that they weren’t, he continues, “The main conclusion that I drew is that Chuck Schumer, and the horrible lieutenant minority leader, Mitch McConnell, filthy man, and Mitt Romney, and Thom Tillis, and Senator Cramer of North Dakota, like, they’re all lying. They’re all lying.”

He asks, “Why are they lying about what we can see plainly, and why didn’t they want us to see it?” He continues, “I know deception when I see it.”

It’s a fair question, and one that has to be on many Americans' minds as more evidence comes to the surface.

Carlson takes another shot and says, “It’s not enough to say, ‘Oh, it was the worst violent insurrection since Gettysburg’ or something. Stop with the overstatement, the hyperbole, and just explain to me what I’m looking at on the screen.”

Beck adds to it, asking, “Why aren’t they standing up and defending their own honor and integrity?”

It seems that honor and integrity are the last things on their minds.

Carlson doesn’t quite have an answer, saying, “If I allow you to lie to me, then I’m no longer a free man. I’m a slave.”

But he has a theory about their motivation. He explains, “This was a complex event in many facets. They simplified immediately into a good-vs-evil tale, as they do with everything, partly because they lack nuance and imagination, sophistication. But partly because this was a tool they were using for a purpose. It was a cudgel they were using to beat down their opponents and grab more power for themselves. And in effect, what it did was change the definition of terrorism.”

But what have they changed the definition of terrorism to?

Carlson says ominously, they’ve changed it to “Republican voters.”

A terrifying thought, but is he wrong?

Beck: The January 6 committee lied to us

For over two years now, the narrative that the January 6 committee has been pushing has dominated our television screens.

Cherry-picked clips have been flashed daily to demonize the men and women who attended the rally.

And finally, the truth is coming out.

Tucker Carlson has received the clips that the left and its allies in the media didn’t want you to see and has begun airing them to the public.

And let’s just say that those who knew we were being lied to about what really happened on January 6 have been vindicated.

One of the most famous clips circulating was that of Senator Josh Hawley running out of the Capitol building. Mainstream media blasted him, calling him a “coward.” However, the clip had been heavily edited.

Carlson says the clip was “propaganda, not evidence,” before showing the rest of the clip. The clip showed more lawmakers running before Hawley — who was at the back of the pack — all being escorted out of the building by Capitol police.

Glenn Beck is not amused. He responds to the now released clip: “Our flag is supposed to stand for justice for all. Josh Hawley didn’t get any justice, but he’s the least of your worries. Will the people on the January 6 committee, led by Adam Schiff, a guy we already know lied about Russian collusion — is that man going to face impeachment? Is there justice for all?”

As Glenn said, Hawley’s story is the least of our worries.

The famous Shaman from the January 6 riot, who has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison, was helped by Capitol police.

That’s right. He was escorted around the Capitol building by police, who even tried to open locked doors for him.

Beck responds, “They were clearly assisting him. Now how did that guy get four years in prison, when he was being escorted by police?”
