It’s Time For A Truce In The Battle Of The Sexes
We must begin to establish harmonious relationships between men and women and reinstate cultural norms for sex, dating, and marriage.
Super Bowl winner Jason Kelce lost his Super Bowl ring in a kiddie pool filled with a concoction of chili, spaghetti, and more during an obstacle course competition. He added that he's filed an insurance claim for the "hunk of metal."
Kelce, along with his brother and fellow Super Bowl champion, Travis, explained on their "New Heights" podcast how they hosted a game show during a live performance of the podcast in Cincinnati.
The brothers put on the "Lombaby Games," an obstacle course competition that put student athletes up against academic students for a series of events. One of the events involved contestants diving into pools of chili, Travis Kelce explained. Jason Kelce corrected his brother regarding the pools' contents.
"This is actually technically a three-way. It's not just Skyland chili. There's spaghetti in there, cheese. ... Folks, the video does not do justice to just how disgusting this was."
"Mixed into that chili there were socks with some make-believe rings, and then there was actually only one real ring in there, which was my Super Bowl ring, but there was another kind of like replica Super Bowl ring," Jason Kelce recalled. "There were two Super Bowl-esque rings that they had to try and find, one in each pool."
The now-retired Philadelphia Eagle explained that while the game was drawn up because he "continuously" loses his Super Bowl ring, his team was unable to find it after the game's conclusion.
"Searching through the chili to try and find the sock that had my Super Bowl ring in it ... we have still yet to find it. All of this stuff has been thrown away, so I think we can safely assume that my Super Bowl ring is now in a landfill someplace in the Cincinnati, tri-state area," he prophesied. "I didn't think that would happen."

His younger brother playfully mocked him in disappointment.
"What did you expect to happen?" Travis asked.
"I thought that we would just go in the pool and get the ring afterwards," Jason replied. "The only thing I can think of is, at some point, the sock got kicked out of the three-way, and it made its way out of the pool and that it was thrown away in some shape or form. The Super Bowl ring is officially gone. We've already put the insurance claim in, which I think the insurance company might have some things to say about whether they'll cover that."
"100% they're going to, especially if you're going to tell the entire world how you lost it," Travis, baffled, retorted.
The two then argued whether or not it was a reasonable excuse to have lost the ring in the vat of chili, with Jason saying that it "doesn't matter" where he puts his ring as long as he "knows where it's at."
In the end, Jason Kelce said he thinks he should be able to have another ring made — which he described as "just a hunk of metal" — while learning at the same time that a metal detector doesn't work with the Skyline brand of chili because it has "traces of iron within the chili itself."
"Kids, if you're watching at home, do not do what Jason's doing. Don't do this," Travis warned.

Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce has announced his retirement from the NFL.
While Kelce’s emotional departing speech centered around fatherhood, Jason Whitlock wonders if there’s more to the story than just hanging up the towel to be more present as a father.
“I love what he said, and I hope that it’s all authentic, but you know, he and his brother now have that ‘New Heights’ podcast that Taylor Swift has made a really, really big deal,” Whitlock says.
There are rumors that the brothers may get a $100 million deal for the podcast.
“I’m just wondering, is he able and is he willing to walk away from football because he’s developed this outstanding media career, and he doesn’t need to milk another year, two, or three out of football?” Whitlock asks.
Steve Kim doesn’t think it’s that complicated.
“He’s already had a long career, it’s not like it’s a truncated run here,” Kim tells Whitlock. “He spent over a decade, and plus he’s playing in the trenches, right in the belly of the beast at center. He may have just had enough physically.”
“I’ve heard from a lot of football players,” Kim continues, “that after a while, it’s not about the game. The body is beat down.”
Kim believes that Kelce likely falls into that camp.
“I do think he’s sincere,” Kim says. “If I take him at face value, which I will, he wants to now be a full-time father, he wants to make the Little League games, he wants to coach Pop Warner, he wants to go to the PTA meetings and you know, thumbs up to him for actually having the correct priorities.”

Philadelphia Eagles lineman Jason Kelce officially retired on Monday, ending his 13-year NFL career. It's big news in the sports world, no doubt. But it's what Kelce said about fatherhood that transcended the sports industry and sent the future NFL Hall of Fame inductee viral.
At his retirement press conference, Kelce recounted his football career from his peewee days through his professional tenure. It's a story about football, of course, but Kelce weaved another, perhaps more important, theme through his story: family.
His brother — superstar tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs — his father, mother, and his own wife and three daughters: Kelce explained how each has played a critical role in his NFL career and, more importantly, how his family has shaped him to be the man he is today.
"A father who is present, loving, devoted just may be the greatest gift a child could ask for in our society."
The climax of his speech, which has received tens of millions of views on social media, centered on Kelce's reflection of the critical role that fathers play in the lives of their children.
"I am a product of my upbringing," Kelce said.
"I think one of the best things a person can be in this world is a father — a father who is present, loving, devoted just may be the greatest gift a child could ask for in our society," he explained.

Kelce's father, Ed, is "damn good," he added, because he "believed in me more than anyone."
"He believed in me and my brother. And whenever my own insecurities would arise or self-doubt would come in, he would stifle them with the warm embrace of belief, unwavering love and belief," Kelce said.
Kelce is right. Loving and nurturing fathers are critical for the health of children, family, and society itself.
It's refreshing that a sports superstar of Kelce's caliber is using his platform to speak boldly about the importance of fatherhood and against the cultural lie that true fulfillment is found within the individual rather than the sacrificial pouring out of oneself to build up others, especially a family.

The mysterious romance between Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has caused quite the uproar. Some are thrilled at the unlikely pairing; many think the entire relationship is nothing more than a publicity stunt; while others are praying for a swift (pun intended) breakup.
While Jason Whitlock has shown skepticism toward the pair since their debut, former NFL player Warren Sapp is “all on board.”
“You got a problem with the NFL pandering to Swifties?” asks Jason.
“I always say, ‘The bigger the crowd, the better the stage,”’ says Sapp. “I mean, we’re talking about people who normally wouldn’t watch football that’s engaged in the game right now.”
Further, Sapp isn’t worried that the relationship between Swift and Kelce is serious enough to cause any real damage.
Back in 2016, Kelce filmed “a reality show,” in which he dated “50 women from 50 states,” Sapp tells Jason, so there’s a slim chance that his fling with Taylor will last long.
Sapp also thinks that Swift is “a marketing genius” and that this ordeal is more about getting the “Swifties … in line for the purchase and in line for the ticket” for her upcoming movie.
Regardless of the reasoning behind Swift's and Kelce’s relationship, Sapp is supportive because “the bigger the crowd, the better the show and the more people watching.”
