Marco Rubio responds perfectly to Ocasio-Cortez in Twitter feud over foul-mouthed insult to Republicans

Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida ended socialist Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York after she tried to defend a foul-mouthed insult against Republicans by a Biden administration official.

The feud began after Rubio criticized Jen O'Malley Dillon, picked by President-elect Joe Biden to be his deputy chief of staff, for using an expletive to refer to Republicans.

"Biden talks about unity and healing, but you want to know what they really think? Read how the person he wants as the next WH deputy chief of staff called Republicans in Congress a bunch of f***ers," tweeted Rubio.

Ocasio-Cortez pounced on Rubio's tweet to defend Dillon's statement, and to add her own foul-mouthed insult against Republicans she made in October.

".@marcorubio you stood by in total silence when your GOP colleague called a Congresswoman a 'f— b—' on the Capitol steps in front of press. You weren't big enough to speak then, & you don't get to sob now. BTW that is the right word for those who fleece & scam working families," she tweeted.

She added a screenshot of her quote To Vanity Fair.

"These are the same people saying that we can't have tuition-free public colleges because there's no money when these motherf***ers are only paying $750 a year in taxes," she said in the quote.

Ocasio-Cortez was referring to an incident where a Republican congressional colleague cursed at her on the steps of the Congress for tying crime to poverty.

In a second tweet she scolded Republicans about the stalled coronavirus relief bill.

"Tired of these people encouraging, ignoring, and excusing their own abusive behavior for years to then turn around and act like the biggest coddled babies in the world. People are hungry and this is what you're mad about. Take that energy to supporting retroactive UI & checks," she added.

Rubio responded simply, "BTW, the right word for those who fleece & scam working families is actually 'socialist.'"

Democrat Katie Hill, who resigned from Congress over sex scandal, actually calls Republicans 'biggest bunch of f***ers in history'

One might say the adage "it takes one to know one" now applies to disgraced former U.S. Rep. Katie Hill.

Oh, do tell!

The California Democrat — who resigned from Congress in 2019 just months into her freshman term amid allegations of an extramarital affair with her legislative director and publication of leaked nude photos of Hill — got an eyeful of Republican U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio's tweet concerning the divisive words of Jen O'Malley Dillon, the incoming deputy chief of staff for President-elect Joe Biden.

"Biden talks about unity and healing, but you want to know what they really think?" Rubio asked in his Wednesday post. "Read how the person he wants as the next WH deputy chief of staff called Republicans in Congress a bunch of f***ers."

Hill apparently couldn't help herself — and fired off a response to the Florida senator:

"Because y'all are the biggest bunch of f***ers in history," Hill wrote. "Stop being that and unity/healing will be a hell of a lot easier."

Let the backlash begin

It should come as no surprise that a few folks found it a bit maddening — and quite humorous — that Hill had anything to say at all on the matter, particularly given her dubious resume.

And her F-bomb didn't go unnoticed, either:

  • "The woman who had three-ways with her staff and had to resign because of it is calling people 'f***ers,'" comedian Tim Young commented. "Just perfect."
  • "Hilarious! Thank you for putting the true hatred of the Left on display for the world to see," another commenter wrote. "We will NEVER unite with evil. Never."
  • "Trust Katie," another user quipped. "She is an expert on a bunch of f***ers."

Anything else?

Hill — who launched a podcast titled "Naked Politics" in October — denied the allegations of an affair but admitted to having a "consensual" three-way relationship with a female campaign staffer and her now-ex husband prior to taking office. Hill blamed "rampant biphobia" as a major factor in her decision to step down.

And in regard to O'Malley Dillon's F-bomb that got this whole thing rolling, an Axios report indicated that some advisers close to Biden are frustrated over what she had to say about congressional Republicans. The piece quoted a Biden donor as saying, "For those of us who, from Day One, bought into Biden's calls for civility and a return to normalcy, this isn't just beyond the pale — it's plain stupid."

Biden campaign manager says national poll numbers are 'inflated'

The campaign manager for Joe Biden's presidential campaign warned that the national poll numbers were "inflated" and that their internal polls showed the race to be much closer than is being reported.

Jen O'Malley Dillon made the comments during a grassroots summit videoconference to supporters on Friday.

Video of the event is no longer available but her comments were documented by New York Times reporter Shane Goldmacher on Twitter.

"Please take the fact that we are not ahead by double digits," she reportedly said. "Those are inflated national public polling numbers."

The sentiment was corroborated by similar comments she made on Wednesday on her own social media account. After reporting successful campaign finance donation numbers, she warned that the election was closer than the polls would suggest.

"Early voting is already underway in many states. Millions of voters have already cast their ballots. But there is still a long way to go in this campaign, and we think this race is far closer than folks on this website think," said Dillon.

"Like a lot closer," she added.

As of Friday, Biden had a large lead over President Donald Trump in the RealClearPolitics average of polls. It calculated Biden to have a 8.9% advantage nationally, with 51.2% preferring Biden, and only 42.3% preferring Trump.

When the Trump campaign was asked to respond to the widening gap between the candidates in the polling, Trump 2020 campaign press secretary Hogan Gidley mocked CNN, the source of one poll.

"I'm not really gonna listen to polls from CNN," he said, "they don't have the best, most stellar reputation for being real news, and we can always talk about flawed methodology, I don't want to get into that. These are the same pollsters though, that had the president down and out in 2016."
