Zero protesters show up at Jordan Peterson event that activists warned was 'racist' and 'homophobic,' demanding its cancellation

A highly criticized stop on Jordan Peterson's international tour saw no protesters whatsoever at the event after over 30 organizations signed a letter demanding that it be canceled, according to the Counter Signal.

As part of his Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life tour, Peterson scheduled an event in Ottawa, Canada, at the same arena as the National Hockey League's Ottawa Senators. This caused an outcry from media, as well as a demand letter from a coalition of organizations and unions who wanted the event to be canceled, citing "misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, and racist" ideas on the part of Peterson.

The letter, penned by a multitude of groups, including Planned Parenthood and a Democratic Socialist organization, said that the venue should drop the event because the professor's ideas "jeopardize the safety and well-being of marginalized communities, especially women and transgender people."

An Ottawa politician called Peterson's appearance "misogynistic" and "far-right" on the night of the event, condemning the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada for defending him: "Jordan Peterson is spreading far-right, misogynistic rhetoric in my riding tonight," said Jenna Sudds, member of Parliament for Kanata-Carleton.

"Instead of condemning Peterson’s hate, Pierre Poilievre is defending him. You can tell a lot about someone by the company they keep," the federal representative added.

\u201c@JennaSudds Did you even listened to what he said?\u201d

Over 5,000 attendees lined up in the approximately 14-degree weather to see the psychologist speak, with some answering media questions while they endured the cold.

"If their argument doesn't hold water, they don't want to argue," one woman said in response to why the event received so much criticism from media members. "They're afraid to hear somebody articulate say something counter to what they believe. It doesn't fit their narrative, so they're like 'if I don't like it, you're not allowed to like it,'" she continued.

\u201cI'm at the Jordan Peterson event in Ottawa. 36 Trudeau funded organizations, including mainstream media losers like Rachel Gilmore, wanted to have the event cancelled. Not a single protester showed up, but over 5000 attendees lined up in the cold. Here's what they had to say.\u201d
— Keean Bexte (@Keean Bexte) 1675127816

The event came just days after Dr. Peterson announced he would be organizing a counter to the World Economic Forum, telling Joe Rogan that he would be gathering with a group of invitees to discuss global philosophy and policy.

Among the topics would be energy/resources, family-centric policies, and more.

Peterson's speaking tour continues until the end of May 2023, adding shows along the way.

Twitter blocked an Arizona Republican from posting — but less than an hour after Elon Musk said he was checking 'into it,' the candidate was tweeting again

Arizona state Rep. Mark Finchem, a Republican who is currently running for Arizona secretary of state, was briefly sidelined on Twitter before being swiftly reinstated less than one hour after Elon Musk, who recently acquired the social media platform, took notice of Finchem's plight.

On Monday afternoon, Finchem posted a screenshot on Truth Social of a notice that said his Twitter account had been temporarily placed in "read-only mode" because he had supposedly violated Twitter's rules.

"Twitter has blocked my account from speaking truth with one week left until the election. They are trying to put their thumb on the scales of this election. Tag Elon Musk and tell him to unban me right now. I am the Secretary of State nominee in a swing state running against the criminal Soros-funded candidate," Finchem wrote.

Finchem later posted another screenshot of a notice that indicated that he had less than 11 hours left until his account would return to normal functionality.

Jenna Ellis tweeted about the platform's move to block Finchem, writing, "@elonmusk this shouldn't happen a week before the election!"

"Looking into it," Musk replied.

Less than an hour later, Finchem was posting on the platform again.

"We are back! Thank you @elonmusk for stopping the commie who suspended me from Twitter a week before the election. Twitter is much better with you at the helm," Finchem tweeted.

"I LOVE THE NEW @elonmusk OWNERSHIP," Jenna Ellis tweeted after Finchem's account was freed.

Musk has indicated that he wants Twitter to be a forum for free speech, though he recently said in a note directed toward Twitter advertisers that the platform cannot turn into "a free-for-all hellscape."

He has also said that a "content moderation council" will be established. "Twitter will be forming a content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints. No major content decisions or account reinstatements will happen before that council convenes," Musk tweeted. "Anyone suspended for minor & dubious reasons will be freed from Twitter jail," he wrote in another post.

Christina Aguilera's Pride costumes are way too RAUNCHY for you — but you can bring the kids

Christina Aguilera wore a medley of over-the-top raunchy costumes at this year’s Pride celebration in Los Angeles, the crowning jewel of which was a green, Hulk-like number complete with a giant green "strap-on."

Rolling Stone magazine (and many other outlets) lauded the pop star's performance at “LA Pride in the Park,” calling it "iconic," “beautiful,” and everything "the gays" ever wanted.

Several posts on Twitter of Aguilera's Pride in the Park performance are being censored with a label warning, "The following media includes potentially sensitive content."

According to Libs of TikTok, even Aguilera had discretion enough to censor her own photo in a post on Instagram.

But the venue itself seems to think parents should bring the kids. The "LA! Pride" website says, "LA Pride in the Park has no age minimum for the music performance." Oh, and apparently kids under 5 get in free.

Last week, BlazeTV host Pat Gray talked about an article in "Fatherly," an online magazine that claims to provide advice and other resources for parents, which touted all the great "benefits" of taking young children to LBGTQ+ Pride parades and events, despite a warning in the opening paragraph of "sights that may be new to kids, like public nudity and kink."

"Considering the benefits for all families — including seeing other LGBTQ+ families like yours, or showing up as an ally if your family members are straight and cisgender — the answer is absolutely [bring the kids to Pride celebrations]," the article recommended.

One parent even said her kids learned to “laugh and enjoy things. Like there were these Beanie Babies with giant penises on them ... for a fourth- and fifth-grade kid, that's super funny.”

Pat Gray did not find the idea to be "super funny" at all.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signs bill requiring high schoolers to take a financial literacy course to graduate

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, signed a bill on Tuesday that will require high schoolers to take a financial literacy and money management course in order to earn a standard high school diploma.

The requirement will be applicable to students who start the 9th grade during the 2023-2024 school year, and the course will cover issues such as credit scores, calculating federal income taxes, checkbook balancing, and more.

The Sunshine State governor noted that the material presented to students will benefit them regardless of the path they pursue.

The Florida legislature has passed a bill that includes a provision that would prohibit teaching kids in kindergarten through 3rd grade about sexual orientation and gender identity — DeSantis, who plans to sign the legislation, said Tuesday that "if you are out protesting this bill, you are by definition putting yourself in favor of injecting sexual instruction to five, six, and seven-year-old kids."

The governor on Tuesday also issued a proclamation recognizing University of Virginia swimmer Emma Weyant as the "rightful winner" of the 500-yard freestyle that she lost to transgender University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas during the NCAA Championships — Thomas is a biological man who identifies as as woman.

"NOW THEREFORE, since she is a native Floridian from Sarasota, I, Ron DeSantis, Governor of the State of Florida, do hereby declare in Florida that Emma Weyant is the rightful winner of the 2022 NCAA Division I Women's 500-yard Freestyle, congratulate her on yet another significant achievement, and express pride that she is a Florida resident," the document

The governor's move was hailed by conservatives, including U.S. Rep. Chip Roy of Texas who tweeted, "God bless @GovRonDeSantis. #TakeBackAmerica"

Texas AG Ken Paxton states the obvious about Rachel Levine, but Twitter says the tweet violated its rules on 'hateful conduct'

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, tweeted a brief statement that fully comports with biological reality, but Twitter has flagged the post, saying that it runs afoul of rules regarding "hateful conduct."

The offending tweet declared, "Rachel Levine is a man."

Admiral Rachel Levine, who serves as the assistant secretary for health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has been named as one of USA Today's "Women of the Year," a distinction which is untethered from reality since Levine is actually a biological male. Paxton included an image of the USA Today site in his tweet.

A notice on Paxton's post declares, "This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about hateful conduct. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible."

Many on social media took issue with Paxton's comment.

"In case anyone still needs this cleared up: Admiral Rachel L. Levine, MD is a woman. Ken Paxton is a transphobic bigot and bully," Democratic Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois tweeted.

Keith Olbermann tweeted, "btw Ken Paxton is NOT a man. Remember to report Paxton's tweet as a violation of @Twitter rules as abusive to a group of people."

"Ken, Rachel Levine is a woman - a strong, intelligent, beautiful woman who is committed to serving her country. And even at that, she’s still more a man than you’ll ever be," another tweet declared.

'They whited out President Obama during Black History Month': GOP criticized over Presidents' Day meme

The Republican National Committee posted a meme on Monday celebrating several past Republican presidents, while taking aim at Democratic President Joe Biden.

The meme included images of Abraham Lincoln, Calvin Coolidge, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump. Words spread throughout the meme said, "Happy Presidents' Day to Such Great U.S. Presidents." But in the center of the meme, a space with a photo of current President Joe Biden included text declaring, "Not You."

"If you want to know what Republicans 'anti-CRT education' looks like, here it is! They whited out President Obama during Black History Month," Christine Pelosi tweeted.

"Disappearing the first Black president while whitewashing Richard Nixon and disrespecting the man who served as the first Black president’s VP, who is now president. Biden blasted for saying he's 'praying' for 'right verdict' in Derek Chauvin murder trial: 'Wildly inappropriate'

President Joe Biden on Tuesday said he's "praying" for the "right verdict" in the trial of former Minneapolis police Officer Derek Chauvin, who's been charged with murdering George Floyd last May.

"I'm praying that verdict is the right verdict," Biden said to reporters at the White House, "which is, I think it's overwhelming in my view." He quickly added that he "wouldn't say that" had the jury not been sequestered, which they have been since Monday.

'RIP due process'

Biden's comments drew everything from shock to steep criticism.

Jenna Ellis — former special counsel for former President Donald Trump, tweeted in response to Biden's statements, "RIP due process. The judge needs to declare a mistrial."

Glenn Kessler, editor and chief writer of the Washington Post's Fact Checker, had the following to say:

— Glenn Kessler (@Glenn Kessler)1618935915.0

"Uh, Biden said he was waiting till the jury was sequestered to comment," Kessler tweeted. "How about waiting until after the verdict?"

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on Fox News that Biden should have held back his comments.

"I'm glad that he at least waited until the jury was sequestered, but I think that the country is such a tinderbox right now, especially Minneapolis, there's so much hurt, so much pain, and I think it's the role of the president of the United States to stay back, to not inflame the tensions."

Kayleigh McEnany: 'It's the role of the president of the United States to stay back, to not inflame' youtu.be

Floyd's last moments, caught on video, showed Chauvin appearing to kneel on Floyd's neck. Violent protests and riots erupted across the country for most of last summer as a result, and the Minneapolis area is more than tense at the moment due to the impeding Chauvin verdict and the recent police-involved fatal shooting of Daunte Wright in nearby Brooklyn Center.

What did Jen Psaki have to say?

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki wouldn't elaborate on what Biden considers "the right verdict" or clarify what he considers "overwhelming," USA Today reported.

Sciutto added that Psaki said Biden is "not looking to influence" the case, given he commented while the jury was sequestered, and that she doesn't believe he was "weighing in on the verdict" but rather conveying compassion toward the family.

Anything else?

Far-left U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) made headlines after telling Minnesota protesters Saturday to "get more confrontational" if the verdict in the Chauvin trial doesn't go their way. In the aftermath, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) promised to bring action against Waters if Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) doesn't act — and it appears that Pelosi will not.

The judge in the Chauvin trial blasted Waters for her "abhorrent" comments, and while Judge Peter Cahill said that they could lead to the overturn of the trial if the defense chooses to appeal the verdict, he didn't grant a mistrial Monday.

In addition, some Democrats reportedly found Waters' comments "revolting," and there is "disgust" among the House Democratic caucus which "metastasized" after Cahill publicly rebuked Waters — and some Democrats reportedly would support censuring Waters.

And Republican U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana took Waters to task for her "incitement," saying he "was shot because of this kind of dangerous rhetoric."

MSNBC's Joy Reid defends leftist theology of Sen. Rafael Warnock, who said Easter is 'more transcendent than the resurrection of Jesus Christ'

Far-left U.S. Sen. Rafael Warnock (D) of Georgia set off a theological bomb Sunday when he tweeted that "the meaning of Easter is more transcendent than the resurrection of Jesus Christ."

Warnock — who's also senior pastor of iconic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, which Martin Luther King Jr. once led — also said in his now-deleted tweet that "whether you are Christian or not, through a commitment to helping others we are able to save ourselves."

Naturally many Twitter users took issue with the good reverend's jaw-dropping point of view, calling it "heresy" and "literally the opposite of what the Gospel says," among numerous other critiques.

Among Warnock's detractors was Jenna Ellis, who recently served as senior legal counsel and attorney for former President Donald Trump, and she called Warnock a "false teacher."

Joy Reid fires back

MSNBC's Joy Reid caught an eyeful of Ellis' response to Warnock and launched a defense on his behalf, saying she will side with Warnock since he's "a pastor and a scholar on the Word":

Ellis replied mistakenly that Reid deleted her tweet — Reid did not delete it — and told the MSNBC host to "read your Bible, and you'd have known this was heresy and a false gospel."

Reid, of course, didn't like that one bit — and added a zinger directed at Trump and his supporters:

Reid also questioned Ellis' "credentials" to "debate theology" with Warnock — an "actual pastor." And Ellis replied with a zinger of her own:

Warnock and fellow Democratic U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff won a bitterly contested Georgia runoff election in January that resulted in a 50-50 count in the Senate between Democrats and Republicans, effectively giving Democrats control since Vice President Kamala Harris holds the deciding vote.

But Warnock was met with plenty of opposition along the way, including from black pastors who criticized his outspoken support of abortion.

"We implore you to uphold the Biblical defense of life and to fight against the systemic racism of abortion," the letter from 25 pastors read.

Former NFL coach Tony Dungy also called out Warnock for his pro-choice views, saying "Rev. Warner may be a pastor. My question would be, 'Is he a Christian?' That is, does he follow the teachings of Jesus, and does he believe that the Bible is the absolute word of God?"

Trump encourages conservatives, Republicans to boycott 'woke' companies that oppose Ga. voting law: 'We will not become a socialist nation!'

Former President Donald Trump is urging people to boycott "woke" companies amid changes that were made to early voting in Georgia.

New state law requires a voter provide a drivers' license or state identification number when voting via absentee ballots, expanded early voting for both primary and general elections, and put in place additional security measures for ballot drop boxes.

Democrats have claimed, without evidence, that the new law restricts voting rights.

What are the details?

On Saturday night, Trump encouraged people to boycott companies and organizations that are kowtowing to what he suggests are liberal agendas. His remarks also came after the MLB announced it was moving its 2021 all-star game out of Georgia in response to the new law.

"For years the Radical Left Democrats have played dirty by boycotting products when anything from that company is done or stated in any way that offends them," the former president said in a statement. "Now they are going big time with WOKE CANCEL CULTURE and our sacred elections. It is finally time for Republicans and Conservatives to fight back — we have more people than they do — by far!"

He continued, "Boycott Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merck. Don't go back to their products until they relent. We can play the game better than them."

He concluded, "Never submit, never give up! The Radical Left will destroy our Country if we let them. We will not become a Socialist Nation. Happy Easter!"

On Saturday, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) said that the state was a victim of "cancel culture" following the law and ensuing backlash from the MLB and other companies like Delta Airlines and Coca-Cola.

In a news conference, Kemp said, "Yesterday, Major League Baseball caved to fear and lies from liberal activists. In the middle of a pandemic, Major League Baseball put the wishes of Stacey Abrams and Joe Biden ahead of the economic well-being of hard-working Georgians who were counting on the All-Star game for a paycheck."

Trump on Saturday also called for people to boycott the MLB, and in a statement said, "Baseball is already losing tremendous numbers of fans, and now they leave Atlanta with their All-Star Game because they are afraid of the Radical Left Democrats who do not want voter I.D., which is desperately needed, to have anything to do with our elections. Boycott baseball and all of the woke companies that are interfering with Free and Fair Elections. Are you listening Coke, Delta, and all!"

Trump unloads on Biden administration for blaming border crisis on him: 'National triumph into national disaster'

Former President Donald Trump unloaded on his successor Sunday, directly responding to President Joe Biden's administration continually blaming Trump for the growing border crisis.

What is the background?

Biden officials have made a habit of blaming incompetence of the Trump administration for the intensifying migrant crisis.

"As we were coming into the administration, we knew we were inheriting an absolute mess from the previous administration — that there were aspects of our legal immigration system that had been gutted and a department that lacked the personnel to administer our laws," Julie Chavez Rodriguez, director of the White House's office of intergovernmental affairs, recently told CNN.

Another Biden official told CNN, "When we came into office, like, it was a disaster. I mean, really. The staffing wasn't in place, the structures weren't in place."

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas also blamed Trump over the weekend. Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," he said:

What we are seeing is the result of President Trump's dismantlement of the safe and orderly immigration processes that were built over many, many years by presidents of both parties. That's what we are seeing, and that's why it's taking time for us to execute our plans to administer the humanitarian claims of vulnerable children. That's what this is about.

What did Trump say?

In a statement released late Sunday, Trump rebuked claims that his administration is to blame for the crisis.

"We proudly handed the Biden Administration the most secure border in history. All they had to do was keep this smooth-running system on autopilot," Trump began.

"Instead, in the span of a just few weeks, the Biden Administration has turned a national triumph into a national disaster," he continued. "They are in way over their heads and taking on water fast."

Trump also accused Biden officials, specifically Mayorkas, of engaging in a "huge cover-up" of the crisis. Trump referred to the unofficial "gag order" placed on Border Patrol agents preventing them from disclosing the truth about the crisis. Mayorkas has denied such an order exists.

"The Mayorkas Gag Order on our Nation's heroic border agents and ICE officers should be the subject of an immediate congressional investigation. But it's clear they are engaged in a huge cover-up to hide just how bad things truly are," Trump said. "The only way to end the Biden Border Crisis is for them to admit their total failure and adopt the profoundly effective, proven Trump policies."

Trump went on to say, "This Administration's reckless policies are enabling and encouraging crimes against humanity. Our Country is being destroyed!"

What has Biden done?

Despite the Biden administration's blame-shifting, Biden not only advertised wholesale changes on immigration policy during his campaign, but has made good on those promises.

In fact, Biden has reversed two of Trump's most deterrent immigration policies:

  • The "Remain in Mexico" policy, which forced asylum-seekers to remain in Mexico while U.S. immigration courts processed their asylum claims. Under former President Barack Obama, migrants were released after being given a "notice to appear" in court, resulting in many migrants slipping into the shadows.
  • The "Safe Third County" policy, which forced migrants to apply for refuge in Guatemala, El Salvador, or Honduras before applying for asylum in the U.S.

The conceivable result of Biden's actions is that government officials now believe the highest number of migrants will travel to the U.S. in over 20 years.

One migrant who recently spoke with ABC anchor Martha Raddatz, in fact, said Biden's presidency was the motivating factor for now traveling to the U.S., something he admitted that he would not have done if Trump were still president.
