'Shame on those who advocate this!' Elon Musk says he will push 'to criminalize making severe, irreversible changes to children below the age of consent'

Elon Musk has indicated that he will actively push to criminalize the performing permanent gender-transition measures on children who have not reached the age of consent.

"This is a major problem. I will be actively lobbying to criminalize making severe, irreversible changes to children below the age of consent. Shame on those who advocate this! It is utterly contemptible," Musk wrote in a tweet on Thursday.

In an April tweet, Musk had noted, "My position is simply that we should wait until an individual is mature enough to make their own decisions before other adults make permanent, serious physical changes to them."

Musk, who owns Twitter, has said that he uses people's preferred pronouns, just like he uses preferred names, as a matter of "good manners."

“@JeremyDBoreing @realDailyWire This was a mistake by many people at Twitter. It is definitely allowed.

Whether or not you agree with using someone’s preferred pronouns, not doing so is at most rude and certainly breaks no laws.

I should note that I do personally use someone’s preferred pronouns, just as I…”

The Daily Wire's Jeremy Boreing published a tweet thread on Thursday detailing the company's experience planning to share and promote Matt Walsh's "What Is a Woman?" documentary on Twitter.

Boreing said that the social media platform offered the chance "to buy a package to host the movie on a dedicated event page and to promote the event to every Twitter user over the first 10 hours."

The conservative company signed an agreement, Boreing said, but after Twitter reviewed the documentary, the social media platform not only rescinded the advertising opportunity but also said it would limit the movie's reach.

"After reviewing the film, though, Twitter let us know that not only could we no longer purchase the package they offered, they would no longer provide us any support and would actually limit the reach of the film and label it as 'hateful conduct' because of 'misgendering,'" Boreing tweeted. "When we asked how much they would limit the visibility if we posted the film anyway, Twitter replied that our own followers would not be able to see it in their feeds. This, they said, is part of their 'speech not reach' policy," he noted.

Boreing noted that the company planned to post the film on Thursday evening anyway.

The Daily Wire's tweet containing the movie currently carries a "Visibility Limited" label that says the tweet might breach the platform's "rules against Hateful Conduct." Comments, retweets, and likes are all currently disabled on the post.

"We're updating the system tomorrow so that those who follow @realDailyWire will see this in their feed, but it won’t be recommended to non-followers (nor will any advertising be associated with it)," Musk said of the Daily Wire's post. "Commenting & deliberate sharing will be allowed. Sensitive content just won't be pushed to people unless they ask for it or a friend sends it to them," Musk tweeted.

'Unadulterated bigotry': Daily Wire 'god-king' Jeremy Boreing blasts podcast conference that tried to cancel Ben Shapiro

Daily Wire co-CEO Jeremy Boreing ripped the podcasting trade association that issued a groveling apology for "harm" caused by Ben Shapiro's presence at the Podcast Movement conference in Dallas, Texas, last week, calling the response to Shapiro "unadulterated bigotry."

During a roundtable discussion on the Daily Wire's "Backstage" show Wednesday, Boering revealed the details of his private conversations with Podcast Movement's leadership, divulging that he became incensed when one of the owners claimed the public apology made after Shapiro visited the Dallas event was not "political."

Last Thursday, organizers of the Podcast Movement conference apologized profusely for permitting the Daily Wire to become a sponsor and selling the company booth space after attendees complained that Shapiro, the host of the number-one conservative podcast, was spotted near the Daily Wire's booth. Podcast movement took "full responsibility for the harm done by his presence" and said that Shapiro's presence there was "unacceptable."

Boering said Wednesday that in a private conversation with one of Podcast Movement's owners, the owner claimed Shapiro's presence violated a policy "that the talent not appear" and that other event sponsors were upset that Shapiro was there.

“He said this was not in any way political. And when he said it, I’m embarrassed about it, I just got so adrenalized and so upset,” Boreing said. “And I just started reading from the tweets … ‘The pain that will be with us forever, the harm caused by his very presence.’ You’re saying that isn’t political?”

“.@JeremyDBoreing shares details on his phone call with one of the owners of @PodcastMovement: "He said this was not in any way political... And I just started reading from the tweets... 'The pain that will be with us forever, the harm caused by his very presence.'"”

He said Podcast Movement's explanation didn't make any sense because podcast hosts were invited to speak on panels at the event.

"It's just nonsense. The whole fracking conference is for podcasters," Boreing said.

Though by now the Daily Wire is used to cancel culture on the left, Boreing suggested he was nevertheless caught off-guard by what he called outright "bigotry" against conservative podcasters.

“There’s no one else in the world who would be subjected to this type of bigotry, and you get away with,” Boreing said. “You could not treat a black man this way, you could not treat a lesbian woman this way, you could not treat anyone on the left in this way … but you can treat a conservative this way with unadulterated bigotry on the page.”

“.@JeremyDBoreing calls out @PodcastMovement for condemning @benshapiro for "his presence": "This is an outright act of bigotry."”

He said he appealed to Podcast Movement to retract the group's statement and apologize to Shapiro, but his pleas were ignored.

“We will not allow Podcast Movement to continue to present itself as a neutral place. If you’re a conservative podcaster, they don’t want you there … they don’t care to defend you,” Boreing said. “They want to make money off of your success while your political foes try to destroy you, and then they will watch you die.”

Podcast Movement did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Taylor Lorenz blasted on Times Square billboard for doxxing Libs of TikTok. Lorenz reacts by saying she's 'grateful' for WaPo's 'strong security team.'

Washington Post tech reporter Taylor Lorenz got called out on a giant electronic billboard in New York City's Times Square. The billboard declares Lorenz "doxxed @LibsOfTikTok" and throws shade at the newspaper as well.

What are the details?

The ad's full text reads, "Hey WaPo / Democracy dies in darkness / That's why we're shining a light on you. / Taylor Lorenz doxxed @LibsOfTikTok." It's signed by @Timcast, which is the Twitter handle for journalist Tim Pool.

Pool said in his Twitter post Tuesday — which also featured video of the billboard — that Lorenz's story about the Libs of TikTok creator "included a link to private work details and an address listed as Libs' private home. They lied about it so I got an ad in Times Square calling them out."

— Tim Pool (@Tim Pool) 1650988621

Pool also thanked Jeremy Boreing, CEO of the Daily Wire, for "the assist." Boreing noted Sunday in a Twitter reply to Pool that he's "good for half" the billboard's cost.

Yes. Do it. I’m good for half.https://twitter.com/timcast/status/1518305029769383938 …

What's the background?

Lorenz has been making headlines of late and getting lambasted for tone-deaf hypocrisy in the process. Recently, she burst into tears during an MSNBC interview complaining about being harassed online and added that she suffered from post-traumatic stress and even contemplated suicide.

That didn't sway Lorenz from online digging that resulted in her Post story on Libs of TikTok, a popular Twitter account that reposts leftist videos and which most recently focused on ways progressive public school teachers are indoctrinating children. Lorenz's story outed the identity of the Libs of TikTok account's creator and initially publishing a link to the creator's real estate license, which included personal details such as the creator's full name, address, phone number, and employer's name.

The Post later removed the link but stealth-edited the story, failing to tell readers via an editor's note about the changes. When asked why the information was deleted post-publication, a Post spokesperson said "ultimately, we deemed it unnecessary."

What did Lorenz have to say about the billboard?

Lorenz on Tuesday called the billboard "an attempt to discredit my reporting on Libs of TikTok." As for reactions to her tweet, only those Lorenz follows or has mentioned can comment on it, and for that others called her a "coward" and accused her of creating an "echo chamber of people she agrees with."

Lorenz added in another tweet that the billboard "is undeniably so idiotic it’s hilarious, but don’t forget that these campaigns have a much darker and more violent side. I’m grateful to be at a newsroom that recognizes these bad faith, politically motivated attacks and has a strong security team."

'Cry more Taylor!'

Libs of TikTok reacted in short-and-sweet fashion to Lorenz's claim that the billboard is "an attempt to discredit" her reporting:
