ROOKE: The Deadliest Crack In Kamala’s Campaign Just Burst Wide Open
'there is no hope of ever obtaining the American Dream'
A group of Republican senators recently penned a letter to the Biden-Harris administration’s Department of Labor demanding answers regarding the exaggerated job growth number that had to be revised down by more than 800,000.
The letter, obtained by the New York Post, was led by Senator Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) and signed by Republican Senators Ted Budd from North Carolina, Rick Scott from Florida, Markwayne Mullin from Oklahoma, and Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee.
'Created a false impression for the public.'
Last week, the Biden-Harris administration came under fire after its Bureau of Labor Statistics released its preliminary annual benchmark review, revealing that it had overstated job growth by 818,000, Blaze News previously reported.
According to the report, most of those revisions were in the professional and business services sector, as well as leisure and hospitality, retail trade, and manufacturing. The nearly -30% correction marked the largest overestimation since 2009. Final figures will not be reported until February 2025, well after the November presidential election.
The gross miscalculation prompted the Republican senators to question whether the initial estimate was politically motivated.
Marshall told the Post, “Using taxpayer dollars to mislead the public for political gain is an outrageous betrayal of trust and one of the reasons Americans have lost all faith in this administration.”
“Manipulating the numbers to spin a false narrative while people are struggling to afford gas and groceries is not only dishonest — it’s insulting,” he added.
In the letter to DOL acting director Julie Su, the senators wrote, “These misleading numbers created a false impression for the public and cast doubt on the validity of the Bureau’s accuracy and legitimacy.”
“As we approach the presidential election in approximately 70 days, the state of the economy is one of the major issues on [Americans’] minds. There should be no confusion when it comes to evaluating the health of our economy,” the letter stated.
The senators requested more detailed information regarding the revisions, including how many jobs were added as a result of the end of the COVID-19 shutdowns, how many positions were part-time and full-time, and how many government jobs were added.
The DOL has until September 9 to respond to the senators' inquiry.
Former President Donald Trump (R) called the overestimated jobs report a “massive scandal.”
“The Harris-Biden Administration has been caught fraudulently manipulating Job Statistics to hide the true extent of the Economic Ruin they have inflicted upon America,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “New Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the Administration PADDED THE NUMBERS with an extra 818,000 Jobs that DO NOT EXIST, AND NEVER DID.”
He warned that if Vice President Kamala Harris (D) were elected president in the upcoming election, millions of jobs would “vanish overnight.”

The Biden-Harris administration's Department of Labor overstated job gains by 818,000 and was forced to revise down the total in its preliminary annual benchmark review.
The DOL previously estimated that the economy would create approximately 242,000 jobs per month. However, a tally of payroll data from April 2023 through March 2024 revealed that only 174,000 jobs were added monthly.
Nearly half of the downward revisions were for the professional and business services sector — a decrease of 358,000 jobs. The DOL also overestimated leisure and hospitality by 150,000, retail trade by 129,000, and manufacturing by 115,000.
The administration's nearly -30% revision of the job numbers marks the most considerable overestimation since 2009. However, the final figures will not be reported until February 2025.
Former President Donald Trump torched the Biden-Harris administration for the exaggerated job numbers, calling it a "massive scandal."
On Wednesday morning, Trump wrote on social media, "The Harris-Biden Administration has been caught fraudulently manipulating Job Statistics to hide the true extent of the Economic Ruin they have inflicted upon America."
"New Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the Administration PADDED THE NUMBERS with an extra 818,000 Jobs that DO NOT EXIST, AND NEVER DID," Trump continued. "The real Numbers are much worse than that and, if Comrade Kamala gets another four years, millions more Jobs will VANISH overnight, and Inflation will completely destroy our Country."
Trump warned that a Harris-Walz administration would eliminate Americans' life savings.
"With a TRUMP VICTORY, we will once again have the Greatest Economy in History," he remarked.
During Trump's campaign stop in North Carolina on Wednesday afternoon, he stated, "It really isn't a revision. It's a total lie."
Jared Bernstein, chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, released a statement defending the administration, claiming that "neither the preliminary nor final revision directly affect estimates of job growth in recent months – important to keep in mind when assessing today's labor market."
"The estimate of -818,000 is 'wedged in' at -68K over 12 months of job growth, Apr23-Mar24. IF it sticks—which we won't know until Feb' 25—that takes job gains over that period from gangbuster 2.9 million to solid 2.1 million," Bernstein continued, "or from about 240,000/month to 170,000/month. The latter, which is also the average over the past 3 months, is plenty strong enough to keep the expansion on pace."
"The *preliminary* (it will change before it's official) payroll benchmark revision doesn't change the fact that this has been and remains a strong jobs recovery, powering real wage gains, solid consumer spending, and record small biz creation," he said.

Joe Biden claims he has created 15 million jobs for Americans while he’s been in office, but Glenn Beck knows that this claim is a complete fabrication.
“He always has this talking point where he says, ‘Oh, I created 15 million jobs,’” Glenn Beck says, noting that the proof he’s lying is laid out perfectly in a Blaze Media article written by Daniel Horowitz.
“His talking point about job creation is the ultimate self indictment,” Horowitz writes. “The Establishment Survey shows 3 million additional people employed since January 2021. This may be due in part because the employer-based survey picks up more illegal aliens than the survey of households.”
“In any event, the reality is Biden has a much worse record on job creation than Donald Trump, and that’s before we delve into the nature of these jobs,” Horowitz continues.
When COVID-19 shut down the world in March 2020, employment cratered. By the time Biden was in office, people were just getting back to work.
“The only fair comparison for Biden to make is to measure the number of employed individuals today compared to February 2020,” Horowitz writes. When the numbers are viewed through this lens, there are 5.5 million new jobs instead of the 15 million Biden touts between January 2021 and February 2024.
That figure of 5.5 million is according to the Establishment survey, which is favored by the Biden administration. The other survey, the Household survey, puts Biden’s job creation at just 2.3 million.
“He didn’t create 15 million new jobs. Nowhere near. Those jobs came back after the COVID situation was over and people went back to work,” Pat Gray says.
