Bill Maher ridicules elderly Biden for walking like 'toddler with a full diaper,' tells him to 'let his old fart flag fly'

Liberal talk show host Bill Maher ridiculed President Joe Biden for being old and seemingly suffering from cognitive decline, but still urged the Democratic incumbent to "let his old fart flag fly" and embrace his advanced age.

During Friday's episode of "Real Time with Bill Maher," the HBO host shared headlines from corporate media publications warning that voters are expressing concern about Biden's age.

As Blaze News previously reported, an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll released in August found that 69% of Democratic voters and 77% of American adults believe that Biden is "too old" to "effectively serve another 4-year term as president."

Maher griped that complaining about Biden's age is getting old.

He advised that if Democrats want to win the 2024 presidential election, then the 81-year-old Biden would need to "lean into" his advanced age.

"Instead of trying to refute all the 'too old to be president' slams, Joe must embrace them," Maher declared. "Stop with the 'I'm sharper than ever.' Nobody's buying that. Don't try to deny the age thing, lean into it. Lean in, lean in like you're eating soup."

Maher mocked Biden by saying, "And just admit it! Say ‘Yes, I’m bad with names and I walk like a toddler with full diaper, but I believe in democracy."

Maher pointed out that voters despise phony attempts to pander for votes, such as when Hillary Clinton said she always carries hot sauce in her purse during a 2016 interview at a hip-hop radio station.

Maher fumed, "Americans hate that s**t."

"Be yourself! And Joe, yourself is old," Maher noted, then joked, "You're so old you once fell down the stairs at the Underground Railroad. You're so you're so old, your bad kid with a drug problem is 54."

The "Real Time" host said, "No one cares if you can ride a bike," and then shared an image of Biden falling off his bicycle in 2022.

"You recently joined TikTok to win over the kids – get off that s**t right now! It's inauthentic and it won't work," Maher instructed.

Maher instructed Biden to follow the demographics, and said that "almost 72% of people over 65 voted." He then quipped that Biden does well with "that 'Matlock' crowd."

Maher urged Biden to "let his old fart flag fly" when he delivers the State of the Union on Thursday.

Maher – with the assistance of a walker – then portrayed himself as Biden giving a parody of the State of the Union address.

"My friends when I first came here as a senator, Washington welcomed me with open arms, not the place – the guy," Maher said posing as the elderly Biden.

"You don’t want a young person in charge of our defense. We need a president who can stand up to Russia and say to its current president, Mr. Gorbachev, get off my lawn,” Maher jested, poking fun at Biden's repeated gaffes of confusing names of famous people.

Biden has suffered multiple moments that caused many to question the octogenarian president's cognitive abilities.

In January, Biden appeared to be confused and seemingly needed first lady Jill Biden to escort him off stage.

In June 2023, President Biden appeared to need guidance to walk off a stage after making a quizzical comment about the late Queen Elizabeth.

In February 2022, Biden seemingly needed assistance in exiting the stage after a speech.

In December 2021, a CNN reporter admitted that Biden looked "confused."

In June 2021, Biden suffered several mental lapses and gaffes at the G7 summit. At one point, fellow world leaders appeared to openly laugh at Biden over his forgetfulness.

If elected in November, Joe Biden would be 86 years old at the end of his second term.

'Honestly sad to watch': Questions arise about Biden's condition following new videos of president seemingly 'confused'

New videos have surfaced of Joe Biden that left many netizens expressing concern over the condition of the current president.

President Biden gave a speech in Pennsylvania on Friday on the eve of the third anniversary of the riot at the U.S. Capitol building. Biden used his speech held near Valley Forge to accuse former President Donald Trump of being a threat to democracy. The speech was Biden's first political event of the election year.

"Donald Trump's campaign is obsessed with the past, not the future," Biden said. "He's willing to sacrifice our democracy, [to] put himself in power."

"Today, I make this sacred pledge to you, the defense, protection, and preservation of American democracy will remain, as it has been, the central cause of my presidency. America, as we begin this election year, we must be clear, democracy is on the ballot. Your freedom is on the ballot."

Speaking of the events of January 6, Biden claimed, "We nearly lost America — lost it all."

As Biden ended his speech, Jill Biden rushes to the stage and escorts the president.

The official account on the X social media platform posted a video of President Biden being led off stage with the caption: "Jill, Ed.D., escorts Biden off the stage following his remarks."

Video shows the first lady lead the president off stage and as soon as she believes she is out of camera view she immediately drops his hand.

Numerous online commentators questioned the manner that President Biden was escorted off the stage.

GOP rapid response director Jake Schneider said, "She's walking him off the stage like a child."

Conservative influencer Benny Johnson wrote, "I’m convinced Joe Biden should be followed by a full crew of tarmac air traffic controllers with light wands to guide him off stage full-time."

The Daily Mail said of Biden's exit, "Jill Biden rushed to embrace zoned-out Biden after he finished speech, then went into trance-like state on-stage."

Biden returned to Delaware later that day.

Online commentators also suggested that President Biden looked "confused" after stepping off the Marine One helicopter.

The video was captioned: "After two weeks of vacation and a 32-minute speech, Biden is back in Delaware for a weekend respite. He was VERY confused upon landing."

The footage shows Biden looking from side to side, then peering back at the helicopter until a man in uniform guides the president to the motorcade.

Washington, D.C. reporter Paul Bedard noted, "I covered White House for 10 years and never saw a president have interactions/directions like these."

Trump advocate Karoline Leavitt added, "This is honestly sad to watch."

'President Biden seems confused': CNN reporter admits

Even a CNN reporter is admitting that President Joe Biden "seems confused."

Biden gave an interview to ABC's "World News Tonight" anchor David Muir last week. During the interview, Muir asked the 79-year-old Biden, "If you look out across the country, you see it everywhere, these long lines, people waiting for hours outside in the cold, just to get tested, to be reassured before they spend time with their family. If you go to the pharmacy, we hear this over and over again, empty shelves, no test kits. Is that a failure?"

"I don't think it's a failure," Biden responded. "I think it's – you could argue that we should have known a year ago, six months ago, two months ago, a month ago."

"I wish I had thought about ordering a half-billion pills two months ago before COVID hit here," Biden said, mixing up the word "pills" when he meant "tests."

Biden is talking about the reported 10 million courses of Pfizer's COVID-19 antiviral oral drug Paxlovid that the U.S. government bought from the pharmaceutical giant for $5.29 billion. On Wednesday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted emergency use authorization for the new antiviral pill to treat people with symptomatic COVID-19.

CNN correspondent Jeff Zeleny highlighted the gaffe during an appearance on the "Situation Room" TV program.

"Repeatedly throughout this interview with David Muir, which was recorded this afternoon, President Biden seems confused and was confusing the half a billion tests that they’ve ordered with a half a billion pills," Zeleny stated. "And, of course, pills were in the news today with the Pfizer approval of the antiviral, so he corrected himself, but that was one thing that stuck out to me."

Zeleny also blasted the Biden administration for "not accepting any responsibility at all for this lack of testing."

"But then simply this administration, and the president leading the charge here, really not accepting any responsibility at all for this lack of testing," Zeleny told host Wolf Blitzer. "We’ve seen these images across the country, long lines, just the inability to get tests. And yes, omicron came on very quickly here, but it has been almost a month since Thanksgiving where they knew this was coming."

President Biden promised to distribute 500 million free at-home rapid tests to Americans next month, but as Zeleny notes, "There is no sense from this administration those will be sent out early in January as the president suggested in this interview."

President Biden has made a multitude of gaffes during his time in office, including at the G7 summit, confusing Iraq with Iran, mixing up Chris Wallace with Chuck Todd, confusing Donald Trump with Barack Obama, confusing Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer with his own Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, mixing up the United Nations with the United States, mixing up Syria with Lebanon, and repeatedly saying Vice President Kamala Harris is the "president of the United States."
