WATCH: Joe Exotic calls in from prison to share his thoughts on the 2024 election: ‘There’s not an inmate in here shooting for Harris'

The year 2020, for all the disaster and chaos it ushered in, did give us at least one good thing: “Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness” — the Netflix sensation that enthralled Americans with its eccentric cast and big cat drama. The show garnered nearly 35 million views in the first 10 days after its release, but after the star of the show — Joe Exotic — went to jail for his murder-for-hire scheme, the nation largely moved on from Joseph Maldonado.

However, in 2023, Exotic somewhat re-emerged in public discourse when he announced his intentions to run for president in 2024. Although his campaign fizzled out earlier this year, he is still watching the race closely.

On the last episode of “Normal World,” Dave Landau and 1/4 Black Garrett received a phone call from none other than the Tiger King himself.

“Were you hoping for a VP spot?” Dave asked Joe.

“I’m hoping for a cabinet position,” Exotic responded, adding that he hopes to become the “director of Fish and Wildlife.”

“Who is your favorite candidate right now, other than yourself?” Dave asked next.

“We have to get Trump in there because Harris is gonna get us killed. Her and Biden’s been in there for almost four years. ... A couple hundred military bases worldwide have been been attacked of ours and we ain't done s**t about it. We're in the middle of Ukraine; we're in the middle of Israel bulls**t. Russia, China, and Iran and ISIS and them will steamroll her. There's no way they're going to take her serious,” Exotic railed.

“Do you think it's odd that Biden just all of a sudden stepped down and out of nowhere we're being forced to kind of believe that [Kamala Harris] was always the person for the job?” asked Dave, pointing out the buzz about Kamala being a DEI hire.

“I don't think that she was always the person to run. I think [Biden] really wanted to do it himself. I think old age caught up with him a little faster than he thought it would, and I think the only reason that she is even picked to even run as the nominee is because she is black and she is a woman.”

“Look, above all else, it don't matter if you're shooting for the economy to straighten up, world peace, or whatever — all they care about is that a black woman becomes president,” Exotic explained, adding that, “in [prison], Trump has every black vote.”

“There’s not an inmate in here shooting for Harris or Biden. She spent half of her life putting black people in prison that couldn’t afford to fight the fight,” he continued, noting that Harris and Biden’s promises of “prison reform” came to naught.

“With the inmates in there, is that their biggest issue — drug reform? Or do they want prison reform more than anything?” was Dave’s follow up question.

“We live like river rats, man — the mold, the broken down facilities, the electrical problems. We have 300 [people] and 6, 7, 8 toilets ... The food is pathetic, the medical care is pathetic,” said Exotic, adding that “there’s more drugs in here than the whole city of Wynnewood, Oklahoma.”

“When I get out of here, my goal is to testify in front of Congress about what goes on in here,” he told Dave.

As for his Trump endorsement, Exotic claimed that “the best thing [he’s] ever heard come out of Trump's mouth in a long time is if he becomes president he's going to shut down the camps and the halfway houses and send everybody home because if you can qualify to go to a camp, go home and work and support your family. Quit making the taxpayers pay this bill.”

Joe Exotic tells ALL from PRISON: Netflix EXPLOITED feud with Carole Baskin; the two never even met

Alex Stein was lucky enough to score an interview with the wild Joe Exotic from jail — and it did not disappoint.

But this isn’t his first interview, as Exotic has been seriously making the rounds. Through doing so, he has learned a bit about his old arch nemesis Carole Baskin.

“I did one with the news station out of Tampa, and they interviewed Carole right before they interviewed me, and she is now even saying on television that Netflix exploited the feud that we had going on,” Exotic tells Stein.

According to Exotic, Baskin told the news station that the two “had never met” and the “feud wasn’t as bad as Netflix portrayed it to be.”

Exotic went on to tell Stein that there was a double agent named Ashley working at his park who had gone undercover for Carole.

“She was the one that was testifying on Carole for Carole at my trial, but they wouldn’t let her because they caught her lying, so she never got to testify. But yeah, she’s Carole’s informant,” Exotic says.

When Stein was setting up the interview, he had an exchange with Howard Baskin. Baskin told Stein “there are no hard feelings” between him an Exotic, but he still thinks “he’s a liar.”

“It would be really nice if just one person in the interview media profession actually challenged Joe on all his lies instead of just letting him blather on with nodding heads,” Howard wrote.

“I don’t know what Howard wants me to admit to. I’ve admitted to shooting the Tigers; I don’t know what else to admit to. But I didn’t pay Allen to go kill Carole,” Exotic says.

“Well, and I appreciate that,” Stein says. “That’s why I have your back.”

Exotic has a message for his old friends.

“What I need them to realize though, is in order to move on, they got to remember that I’m a human being, and my parents died, and I’m no longer going to own animals, and it needs to be over. But it doesn’t need to be over that they can move on with their free life, and Joseph finishes a 21-year prison sentence for something he didn’t do,” he tells Stein.

“I think that’s fair,” Stein says.

'Tiger King' star Bhagavan 'Doc' Antle arrested by the FBI

Tiger King” star Bhagavan “Doc” Antle was arrested by the FBI on Friday. Several media outlets reported that Antle would face federal money laundering charges.

Antle – who owns the Myrtle Beach Safari in South Carolina – was arrested by the FBI and booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Conway, South Carolina, at 5:38 p.m. on Friday, according to Horry County online booking records.

The Associated Press reported, "The charges relate to allegations of money laundering, a person familiar with the matter told the AP on Saturday. The person could not discuss the matter publicly and spoke to AP on condition of anonymity."

The charges against Antle are expected to be formally announced during a court proceeding on Monday in Florence, South Carolina.

In October 2020, Antle was indicted on wildlife trafficking charges in Virginia. He was charged with one felony count of wildlife trafficking, one felony count of conspiracy to wildlife traffic, and 13 additional misdemeanor charges relating to animal cruelty and the Endangered Species Act.

National Geographic details Doc's alleged wildlife trafficking allegations:

The charges stem from a months-long investigation into illegal selling and transport of lions between Antle and Keith Wilson, owner of Wilson’s Wild Animal Park in Winchester, Virginia. Wilson has been indicted on identical charges to Antle, plus four additional counts of conspiracy. (Wilson already was facing 46 counts of animal cruelty in relation to a November 2019 raid that resulted in authorities confiscating 119 of his animals.)

Doc's daughters were also charged with misdemeanors. Tawny Antle was charged with one misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals. Tilakum Watterson was charged with two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals and two misdemeanor counts of violating the Endangered Species Act.

The trial for the wildlife trafficking charges is scheduled for next month.

NBC News reported, "Antle has a history of recorded violations, going as far back as 1989, when he was fined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for abandoning deer and peacocks at his zoo in Virginia. Over the years, he has more than 35 USDA violations for mistreating animals."

In May, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) requested that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) launch a probe into Antle's Rare Species Fund – a nonprofit that raises money for wildlife conservation. PETA accused Dov of using some of the fund's money to subsidize the Myrtle Beach Safari.

"It's fitting that 'Doc' Antle is behind bars after years of locking up the endangered animals he uses in tawdry photo ops. His legal woes are mounting, as PETA recently blew the whistle on his apparent ‘charity’ scam, and the end to his reign of terrorizing tiger cubs can’t come soon enough," Debbie Metzler, associate director of PETA’s Captive Animal Law Enforcement division said in a statement.

Antle was one of the biggest stars in Netflix's massively popular "Tiger King" docuseries that featured Oklahoma zoo operator Joe Exotic – who was convicted in a plot to kill his rival, Carole Baskin.
