BlueAnon Rears Its Head: One-Third of Dems Believe Conspiracy Theory That Trump Staged Assassination Attempt

A conspiracy theory has run unabated in Democratic circles following the assassination attempt against former president Donald Trump on Saturday. It posits that Trump staged the shooting for a photo op, that the wound on his ear was caused by something other than an assassin's bullet, and that he was never in mortal danger.

John Harwood labels the idea that people are being crushed by a bad economy as 'crazy bulls**t'

John Harwood, who describes himself as a journalist on his X profile, listed several ideas that he described as 'crazy bulls**t," including the notion that Americans are being hit hard by a poor economy.

Specifically, Harwood wrote that "the 'weaponized Justice Department' is bulls**t," "the rigged Swift-Kelce-Pfizer-psy-op Super Bowl is bulls**t," "the Biden-Mayorkas impeachment drive is bulls**t," "the terrible-economy-crushing-Americans is bulls**t," and "the Trump victimhood whining is bulls**t." He then added, "It's all crazy bulls**t."

While many commenters agreed with him, others did not.

"1 out of 6. Not bad, for you," one person responded.

"I love how he mixes stupid tik tok stories in with legit news. You are not a serious person, John Harwood," someone else wrote.

Last year, in a November post, Harwood used the phrases "flagrant criminality" and "deranged mental state" when referring to former President Donald Trump. In that same post, Harwood claimed that "journalists need to better convey 2 realities," including "the US economy is doing well, not poorly" and that "Biden at 80 is handling the job effectively right now."

In another November post, Harwood wrote, "Boom or bust, there's never a time when many, many Americans/businesses don't struggle to make ends meet," adding, "The issue is compared to what."

Liberal Journalists Shame Hardworking Americans for Suffering Under the Biden Economy

President Joe Biden has a problem. America's journalists are doing everything they can to help him solve it, but as is often the case when journalists try to help, the problem is only getting worse.

The Media Isn’t Quite Hackish Enough For The Biden White House

Here’s What These Fired CNN Hacks Are Up to Now

CNN recently fired three partisan hacks in an effort to become a semi-respectable media network. Jeffrey Toobin, the chief legal analyst best known for masturbating in front of his colleagues on a Zoom call, got the axe in early August. Brian Stelter, the chief media correspondent best known for "seriously" promoting convicted felon Michael Avenatti as a contender for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, hosted his final show days later. John Harwood, the network's White House correspondent and enthusiastic Democratic Party apologist, announced his (unplanned) departure earlier this month.

Liberals suffer collective freakout over CNN parting with John Harwood, say network becoming 'Fox News Lite' and promise boycott: 'Grave threat to democracy'

Liberals suffered a meltdown because CNN is cleaning house after disastrous ratings. Leftists claimed CNN is becoming "Fox News Lite" and threatened the boycott the dwindling cable TV news network.

Last month, the New York Times reported that CNN's ratings have plummeted and the "network is on a pace to drop below $1 billion in profit for the first time in years, according to people familiar with its operations, amid steep declines in TV viewership."

CNN replaced Jeff Zucker with Chris Licht as the new head of the cable news network.

There were reports that Licht would adopt a more nonpartisan stance in its news coverage.

The cable network has already forced out "Reliable Sources" host Brian Stetler and legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin. On Friday, the network parted with longtime commentator John Harwood.

On Saturday, the term "Boycott CNN" was a trending topic on Twitter.

In desperate Twitter reactions, liberals had a collective freakout over the dismissal of Harwood. Many threatened to boycott the network for becoming "Fox News Lite."

Leftwing journalist Dan Rather: "What is going on at CNN? It's a serious question. There is a lot of speculation on directives and motives. What's really going on? And is it being noticed by the audience?"

Actor John Ales: "John Harwood could be the next Walter Cronkite if only there were a mainstream platform that didn’t put profit first. This should scare the s**t out of us. #BoycottCNN."

Liberal author Kurt Eichenwald: "The idiocy at @CNN that they think they can become FoxNews-lite and will win over conservatives is bizarre. The fact that they don't see they will lose all of their regular viewers who don't want propaganda-lite is even greater idiocy."

Democratic strategist Greg Pinelo: "Still incensed about @JohnJHarwood being fired. Let sink in that there are 3 major cable news networks in America and 2 of them are controlled by politically active right-wing oligarchs. This is yet another grave threat to democracy."

Screenwriter Randi Mayem Singer: "Will anyone not already terminated by @CNN speak the truth as John Harwood did? The new CNN is normalizing and both sides-ing fascism."

Progressive commentator Charlotte Clymer: "CNN White House Correspondent John Harwood offered this reasonable analysis. A short while later, he announced he’ll no longer be at the network. It’s pretty clear that CNN’s new leadership is aiming to become a lesser Fox News."

Political analyst Ameshia Cross: "CNN is dying a shameful death. They used to be a valid source. I grew up on the network. Today I'm ashamed of what they've become. And this weird pivot Right attacking Biden's speech is the nail in their coffin. With few exceptions they sound Fox lite w/o the Fox viewership."

Musician Quest Love: "Why would @CNN flush everything down the toilet like this? SMH."

Leftist commentator Malcolm Nance: "Treat CNN like Tesla. Let’s hit them right in the MF’ing wallet. Punish their shareholders for choosing a CEO who was brought in to betray America for Trump. #BoycottCNN."

Democratic activist Pam Keith: "CNN is gone full MAGA because a Trumper took control of it."

Left-wing journalist John Harwood let go by CNN

CNN has parted ways with White House correspondent John Harwood, the left-wing journalist revealed Friday.

"Today's my last day at CNN," Harwood tweeted at noon, thanking his colleagues and saying he was "proud" of the work they did together. "[L]ook forward to figuring out what's next."

\u201cpersonal news:\n\ntoday's my last day at CNN\n\nproud of the work\n\nthanks to my colleagues\n\ni've been lucky to serve the best in American media - St. Petersburg Times, WSJ, NYT, the NBC family, CNN\n\nlook forward to figuring out what's next\u201d

A spokesperson for CNN confirmed Harwood was no longer employed in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter.

“We appreciate John’s work covering the White House, and we wish him all the best,” the CNN spokesperson said.

The outlet reported that Harwood learned he was being let go by CNN last month. He joined the cable news network in Jan. 2020 after working as the chief Washington correspondent for CNBC.

The reasons for Harwood's departure are as of yet unknown, but he is not the first highly partisan journalist to leave since CEO Chris Licht took over after Warner Bros. Discovery acquired CNN earlier this year.

Two weeks ago, CNN announced that chief media correspondent Brian Stelter would be let go and his show, "Reliable Sources," cancelled. Stelter had long antagonized conservatives, who accused him of bias against the right, Fox News, and former President Donald Trump.

Harwood has similarly faced criticism for being sharply critical of Trump and the Republican Party, which he called "fundamentally broken" in 2019.

In 2016, hacked Hillary Clinton campaign emails published by WikiLeaks revealed that Harwood complimented Clinton in conversations with campaign chairman John Podesta, during which he offered to interview her on topics she would be comfortable with. In another email exchange, Harwood asked the Clinton campaign to suggest questions he would ask of Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush in an interview.

Harwood's performance as a moderator during the October 2015 GOP presidential primary debate drew widespread scorn from Republicans because at times it seemed he wanted to debate the candidates himself rather than moderate their discussion. Then-candidate Donald Trump called him a "disaster" and said he is "probably finished as a reporter" in a blistering review of Harwood's behavior.

Harwood leaves CNN at a time when the company is losing profits and viewers. The network's new leadership under Licht has taken steps to return to neutral, non-partisan news coverage, including letting go of talent.

Licht told CNN staffers in June that more changes would be coming.

"You heard me say in my first town hall that I am going to make decisions slower than some would like," Licht said. "I know this organization has been through tremendous change over the last four months, which is why I am approaching this process slowly and thoughtfully as we look at all parts of the operation."

Another Partisan Hack Just Lost His Job at CNN

CNN's new leadership continues to purge the network's ranks of partisan hacks. White House correspondent John Harwood on Friday became the third partisan hack sent packing in as many weeks. The obnoxious journalist said he's looking forward to "figuring out what's next," suggesting this wasn't a planned departure.

CNN reporter admits name of inflation bill a 'marketing device' meant to dupe Joe Manchin

CNN correspondent John Harwood said Tuesday the name "Inflation Reduction Act" was nothing more than a "marketing device" meant to trick Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) into supporting President Joe Biden's agenda.

What did Harwood say?

Speaking on CNN's "New Day," Harwood was asked whether the bill would "live up to its name" as law. Harwood admitted that it will not.

Not only will the Inflation Reduction Act not live up to its name and actually reduce inflation by any meaningful standard, but Harwood charged that Democrats strategically slapped the bill with that name to dupe Manchin into supporting it.

"No, it doesn't live up to its name," Harwood said. "Let's be real: They called it the Inflation Reduction Act as a marketing device, in part to lock down the vote of Joe Manchin or to reassure Joe Manchin that they were focused on his issue.

"It is going to have a negligible effect on inflation," he admitted. "If it does anything, it might reduce inflation a tiny, tiny bit, but that's not what it's about.

"What's it about is climate. It's about health policy — extending Obamacare subsidies, lowering prescription drug costs by letting Medicare negotiate — and taxing big corporations. That's the core element of the plan," Harwood added. "If it does any appreciable to reduce inflation, that's gravy."

Anything else?

The media agree with Harwood.

After Biden signed the so-called Inflation Reduction Act into law, media outlets immediately ceased describing the new law as one that will help Americans who are struggling financially because of the inflation crisis.

Instead, the bill suddenly became about health care, climate, and taxes.

  • New York Times: "Biden Signs Expansive Health, Climate and Tax Law"
  • Washington Post: "Biden signs sweeping bill to tackle climate change, lower health-care costs"
  • Axios: "Biden signs Democrats' $740 billion tax, climate and health care bill into law"
  • NBC News: "Biden signs major climate, health care and tax bill into law"
  • Bloomberg: "Biden Signs $437 Billion Tax-Climate Bill in a Long-Sought Democratic Win"

Despite this, Manchin remains supportive of the law and has even admitted the supposed inflationary benefits — which the Congressional Budget Office said would be negligible at best — will not be passed on to Americans any time soon.
