Liberals suffer complete meltdown over DeSantis sending migrants to Martha's Vineyard, make comparisons to Nazis, ethnic cleansing, and the Holocaust

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis flew approximately 50 illegal immigrants to Martha's Vineyard on Wednesday. Reactions on Twitter from liberals accused DeSantis of everything from human trafficking to becoming the next Adolf Hitler.

"Yes, Florida can confirm the two planes with illegal immigrants that arrived in Martha’s Vineyard today were part of the state’s relocation program to transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations," DeSantis' communications director, Taryn Fenske, told Fox News on Wednesday.

"States like Massachusetts, New York, and California will better facilitate the care of these individuals who they have invited into our country’ by incentivizing illegal immigration through their designation as ‘sanctuary states’ and support for the Biden Administration’s open border policies," the office of DeSantis stated.

Martha's Vineyard is an affluent enclave in Massachusetts, where Joe Biden won 80% of the 2020 presidential election vote. The island of the elite has celebrity residents such as Jackie Kennedy, Mike Wallace, Spike Lee, David Letterman, and the Obamas – who own a $12 million, 29-acre private beachfront estate with a 7,000-square-foot mansion.

In reaction to 50 migrants being flown to Martha's Vineyard, liberals reacted with fury, unhinged assertions, and comparisons to Nazi Germany.

Author Jessica Valenti raged, "Just catching up on Ron DeSantis flying migrants to Martha's Vineyard as some sort of political stunt. Unlike DeSantis, these are f***ing human beings. What a disgusting piece of s**t."

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) said, "It's outrageous. They lure people, like human traffickers ... onto buses and unknowing where they're going to. They supposedly are the advocates for human life. They have no concern for the lives of these people."

Leftist writer Seth Abramson blustered about DeSantis, "ATTENTION FBI: INVESTIGATE THIS MAN FOR HUMAN TRAFFICKING"

MSNBC host Chris Hayes lamented, "Deeply deeply sick and dehumanizing to fling human beings somewhere vindictively."

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said, "Exploiting vulnerable people for political stunts is repulsive and cruel. Massachusetts is fully capable of handling asylum seekers, and I'll keep working with local, state, and federal partners to ensure we have the necessary resources to care for people with dignity."

Former CNN correspondent Jacki Schechner said, "The Nazis had a relocation program. DeSantis' communications director actually uses the words 'the state’s relocation program' in this article."

Rolling Stone reporter Asawin Suebsaeng wrote on Twitter, "The hurling migrants at liberal cities and towns thing is narrowly funny in a meta way only because it’s premised on the assumption that everyone is as xenophobic and cold hearted as the governors and officials doing the hurling, and I don’t think they’ve once been proven right."

NBC Think writer Noah Berlatsky ranted, "Seriously, this is an ethnic cleansing program. they are transporting people across borders without their consent based on race and ethnicity."

Transgender advocate Charlotte Clymer claimed, "The supposedly godless, east coast heathens of Martha's Vineyard demonstrated more of Christ's grace and love in welcoming refugees with open arms than the supposedly Christ-loving Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida could ever hope to do."

Democratic activist Jon Cooper tweeted, "I guess the pain I feel for the immigrants sent to Martha's Vineyard makes me a bleeding heart liberal... and DeSantis a cold-hearted bastard."

Progressive activist Jonathan Cohn lashed out, "DeSantis is fascist scum, and he should be prosecuted for human trafficking."

Author D. Earl Stephens made a comparison to Nazi Germany: "DeSantis rounding up human beings, and shipping them off like they are lesser-than, while Republicans laugh about it, is why people need to start reading about what happened in 1930s and '40s Germany. These Republicans are just disgusting, man. Everything DeSantis and these budding fascists are doing right now stemmed from Trump's disgusting birther blather."

Former Biden-Harris transition team member David Leopold argued, "Forcible transfer of a civilian population is a crime against humanity. And human trafficking is a serious federal crime in the US. Both of these are hallmarks of an anti-democratic totalitarian leader. A political stunt doesn't mask what @GovRonDeSantis & his accomplices in the GOP are doing – transferring a population of immigrants to other parts of the country. It's immoral, it's unAmerican & it's straight out of Putin's playbook."

"The View" host Whoopi Goldberg claimed that Canadians are welcomed into the U.S. because immigration is a "brown people issue" and attacked DeSantis, "These are real, live people with children, and older people, and we can work it out, but if you’re gonna be a bonehead, who wants to play with you?"

“Whoopi calls Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) a "bonehead" and "nasty" for sending illegal immigrants to Martha's Vineyard. "I thought we asked people to come here," she snarked. She tied to compare the illegals to his great-great-grandma who legally immigrated from Italy.”

A CNN anchor claimed that sending migrants to Martha's Vineyard had the "same themes" as the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust. While promoting his new documentary "The U.S. and the Holocaust," Ken Burns claimed that the decision to send migrants to Martha's Vineyard is "straight out of the authoritarian playbook."

"All of your documentaries are about history, but all of them also make you think about where we are," CNN anchor John Berman said to Burns and co-director Lynne Novick.

"We woke up to the news this morning that Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida sent two planeloads of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts, including kids and whatnot," Berman added. "And I’m not saying, this is not a 1-for-1, this is not a parallel here in any way, but it does address some of the same themes that are part of this documentary."

Burns responded, "Well, it’s the abstraction of human life. It’s basically saying that you can use a human life that is as valuable as yours or mine or Lynne’s and to put it in a position of becoming a political pawn in somebody’s authoritarian game. This is coming straight out of the authoritarian playbook."

Burns continued to assail DeSantis, "This is what’s so disturbing about DeSantis, is to use human beings, to weaponize human beings for a political purpose – it’s like when somebody disagrees with him in Florida, like the Walt Disney Company, he punishes them."

"This is not the actions of a person participating in a democratic process in which there’s an exchange of ideas," the documentary filmmaker claimed. "This is about punishing political enemies, putting on shows, political shows, political theater. And in this case, this is with the lives of human beings."

“CNN's @JohnBerman & filmmaker @KenBurns somehow liken DeSantis offering migrants free flights to Martha's Vineyard to Hitler's Holocaust of Jews”

Ukraine fights back: Air defenses reportedly 'wreaking havoc' on Russian aircraft; civilians take up arms; former president stands ready to fight, vows country will hold off Russian troops 'forever'

Despite being outmatched in nearly every facet of warfare, the Ukrainian people are reportedly standing strong in defense of their country, seeking to hold off Russian troops who initiated an unprovoked invasion on Thursday.

What are the details?

Though it is difficult to get an accurate picture of how exactly the fight is going in Ukraine, images and videos shared on social media over the last several hours offered signs of Ukranian determination to defend their homeland.

Forbes reporter David Axe tweeted that Ukrainian air defenses and fighters were "wreaking havoc" on Thursday, downing Russian planes and helicopters conducting aerial assaults on Ukraine's military installations and population centers.

Ukrainian air-defenses and fighters are wreaking havoc. Russia has lost as many as seven helicopters, an Su-24, an Su-25 and reportedly two Su-30s. And now something BIG just got hit over Kyiv. This happened after Russia's bomber net went active. https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidaxe/2021/12/02/kievs-missiles-are-all-that-stand-between-the-russian-air-force-and-control-of-ukraines-skies/?sh=6dd560663e69 … @Forbeshttps://twitter.com/Osinttechnical/status/1497039189740859419 …

One Ukrainian fighter pilot dubbed the "Ghost of Kyiv" has emerged as an unconfirmed hero after having allegedly single-handedly downed six Russian fighter jets.

TheBlaze previously reported that Ukraine claimed to have inflicted significant losses on the Russian military on the first day of fighting — including up to 80 tanks, as many as 516 armored combat vehicles, 10 aircraft, 7 helicopters, and 2,800 special staff.

Reportedly hell-bent on attacking Kyiv and overthrowing the Ukrainian government, Russian forces persisted through whatever resistance was offered. On Friday, they advanced into a northern district of the capital city, where residents were under direction to "prepare Molotov cocktails" to defend the city.

Within Ukrainian cities, residents have vowed to take up arms against the encroaching enemy. Video posted to Twitter by security analyst Michael A. Horowitz Friday allegedly showed weapons being distributed en masse to Ukrainian civilians who had volunteered to fight.

Among the brave residents standing in the streets prepared to fight was former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. The former leader reportedly took up a Kalashnikov rifle alongside civilian defense forces on Friday.

When asked by CNN's John Berman, "How long do you think you can hold out?” Poroshenko defiantly answered, "Forever."

"Putin will never [overtake] Ukraine no matter how many soldiers he has, how many missiles he has, how many nuclear weapons he has — we, Ukrainians, are free people," he added.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and his brother are also determined to defend their city and nation.

"It’s already a bloody war," Klitschko told ITV Thursday, according to the New York Post. "I don’t have another choice. I have to do that. I would fight."

What else?

Current Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also remained in the capital despite facing serious danger. The leader reportedly claimed that he and his family are top targets in the offensive and that Russian kill squads are actively seeking to assassinate him.

"I'm staying with my people," he proclaimed.

A senior U.S. defense official told reporters Thursday that Russia has "every intention of basically decapitating the government and installing their own method of governance" in Ukraine. Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin's designs for the European continent won't stop there.

Zelenskyy declared martial law in Ukraine earlier this week after Putin first announced the launch of a "special military operation" in his country.

Under that declaration, Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country. Rather, they are being encouraged to join the fight. Amazingly, those older than 60 are also reportedly getting in on the action.

Anything else?

A commander in Kyiv told CBS News that thousands of people had arrived to fight, many whom have little or no military experience. According to him, the greatest challenge has been finding guns for all the volunteers.

"This is my country. I have my family here, and I have a duty to protect my family and to protect my country. And this is the duty of each and every Ukrainian," one resident, a mapmaker by trade who had arrived in Kyiv to help defend it, said.

He added, "We will fight as much as we can. We will fight because we have our families ... our country and our lifestyle that we are not ready to give up."

CNN hosts scramble to cover for DC mayor's blatant mask hypocrisy, claim she wasn't actually violating her own mask rules

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser had quite a weekend of partying and merry-making as the people under her control were forced to step backward into COVID-19 rules they mistakenly believed were history.

First, Bowser declared that she would be re-imposing an indoor mask mandate upon the vaccinated citizens of the nation's capital first thing Saturday morning — which conveniently was scheduled to start hours after a long-planned Friday night birthday bash for the mayor.

Then, Saturday evening — the day the mayor's mask mandate went into effect — the mayor officiated an outdoor wedding and then was caught celebrating at an indoor reception with hundreds of unmasked guests, as reported by Washington Examiner reporter Tiana Lowe.

The mayor denied being in violation of the rules, her office said, claiming that the mayor did wear a mask indoors and was in full compliance with the mandate.

But apparently, for CNN's morning hosts, the mayor's defenses for her own behavior didn't go far enough — so they offered some of their own.

What's all this then?

During Monday's episode of CNN's "New Day," show co-hosts John Berman and Brianna Keilar went out of their way to cover for Bowser.

"She wasn't actually, as far as we know, violating the new rules, correct?" Berman asked Keilar.

Keilar responded, "I think that that is fair say, but I think it might also be about, is she violating the spirit of it? I don't know."

In an attempt to explain Bowser's clear misstep, Berman said, "It's hard for me to remember what we're all supposed to be angry about, because it wasn't that long ago where we were criticizing politicians for wearing masks still where the science was telling them, oh, they didn't need to be."

"We kept on asking the White House, 'Why is Joe Biden still wearing a mask when the mask guidance has changed?'" he continued. "And now, of course, we're saying, 'She should be wearing a mask even though she was following the guidance.'"

Berman added that he didn't know if she did something wrong "functionally, policy-wise" and noted that maybe she was eating or drinking — an excuse the mayor's office did not actually offer.

Keilar offer that maybe the mayor was maskless during the toast, which, again, was not an excuse the mayor or her office offered.

Anything else?

The Washingtonian, a D.C.-based outlet, attempted to undermine Lowe's reporting for the Examiner by pointing out that Lowe wasn't actually invited to the wedding or reception.

Interestingly, one CNN reporter, Kate Bennett, actually did attend the wedding in question as an invited guest. But so far, she has remained silent about the entire affair.

Since they dragged @KateBennett_DC into it, maybe she can share some photos of ppl wearing masks indoors? https://t.co/07VyTRShFc

Navarro says Fauci and CNN have 'blood' on their hands after study shows hydroxychloroquine doubles COVID survival rate

Former Trump adviser Peter Navarro has strong words for Dr. Anthony Fauci and far-left network CNN for dismissing the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine against COVID-19, after a new study found that treatments of the malaria drug combined with zinc more than doubled the survival rate of coronavirus patients on ventilators.

Navarro says Fauci and CNN have blood on their hands.

What are the details?

"I had 60 million tablets of HCQ that Tony Fauci and @cc wouldn't allow the American public to use because of their Hydroxy Hysteria," Navarro tweeted on Thursday. "Blood on @JohnBerman @cnn and Saint Fauci's hands. More than 50,000 Americans would be alive today."

The economist shared a link to an article by The Daily Mail, titled, "Was Trump right about hydroxychloroquine all along? New study shows drug touted by former president can increase COVID survival rates by 200%."

— Peter Navarro (@RealPNavarro) 1623335312.0

The Mail pointed to an observational study on 255 COVID-19 patients published in medRxiv on May 31, that was conducted by Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey. The study, which has not been peer-reviewed, concluded that "when the cumulative doses" of hydroxychloroquine and zinc "were above a certain level, patients had a survival rate 2.9 times the other patients."

What's the background?

Early on in the COVID-19 pandemic last year, then-President Donald Trump touted hydroxychloroquine as a promising treatment against the virus.

Germany's Bayer pharmaceutical company in turn donated three million doses of the anti-malarial to the U.S., as health care providers were already treating coronavirus patients with hydroxychloroquine-based treatments in France, China, and other nations, MarketWatch reported at the time.

The Washington Examiner noted Trump's promotion of HCQ "earned him pushback from medical experts, including his own White House coronavirus team member Dr. Anthony Fauci, and political pundits who dismissed his claims and maintained the drug was ineffective."

The new study on HCQ's effectiveness comes as Trump has seen a series of apparent vindications in recent days, which was not lost on his eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

The younger Trump tweeted Wednesday, "In the last week alone, we've learned that the media, so-called fact checkers and their Big Tech enforcers lied to us about the lab-leak theory, Hydroxychloroquine and the clearing of Lafayette Square. All to hurt Donald Trump. What else are they lying about?"
