7 reasons why this was the best and worst Pride Month yet

July is here, which means we made it through another Pride Month! Since the 1970s when what used to be called just the gay community first started designating June as the month for gay rights advocacy, we’ve seen parades, events, and the like grow more extreme every year. Now, half the alphabet is employed to describe the ever-increasing number of gender identities; children are routinely dragged into the mix; and sexual fetishes are normalized and celebrated.

However, “this Pride Month in 2025 was very different than Pride Month 2024 or 2023 or 2022,” says Liz Wheeler. “Something in our culture has changed.”

On the latest episode of “The Liz Wheeler Show,” Liz listed out seven reasons 2025’s Pride Month was both the best and worst one to date.

1. Glenn Greenwald sex tape leaked

Just as Pride Month was kicking off, renowned investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald was swept into a scandal when a gay sex tape depicting him engaging in consensual acts that involved a maid’s outfit, fetish behavior, and acts of sexual humiliation was leaked in what he called a "maliciously political" attack.

“Greenwald exposed to the world quite literally what a homosexual lifestyle really is — the reality of the gay lifestyle,” says Liz.

When confronted about the tape, Greenwald “defended” his behavior and even claimed “he was proud.”

“I don’t think Glenn Greenwald brought a lot of people to the LGBTQ+++ side of the aisle this Pride Month,” says Liz.

2. Jojo Siwa likes men now

American singer, dancer, and actress Jojo Siwa launched her career as a child star on the reality TV show “Dance Moms” in 2015, later gaining fame through her vibrant YouTube presence, music singles, and colorful, bow-centric brand.

“[She's] identified as a lesbian from the time she was 17 years old,” but during Pride Month this year, Siwa confessed “she's in love with a man,” “they're talking marriage,” and “she no longer identifies as a lesbian,” says Liz.

But this wasn’t just a sudden change in preference. Siwa also confessed that she was “pressured” into identifying as a lesbian by the supposedly tolerant and accepting LGBTQ+ community.

“As a result of this bombshell revelation, Jojo Siwa was canceled by a massive Pride event” due to “a scheduling conflict,” says Liz, adding sarcastically, “Yeah, I bet it was a scheduling conflict.”

3. SCOTUS says parents CAN opt kids out of LGBTQ+ curriculum

On June 27, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in Mahmoud v. Taylor that Maryland parents have a First Amendment right to opt their children out of public school classes using LGBTQ-themed storybooks, citing religious freedom.

“Parental rights won; grooming of children lost,” says Liz.

4. Trump put California on notice

President Donald Trump threatened to withhold federal funding from California after transgender athlete AB Hernandez, a 16-year-old biological male, won girls’ high jump and triple jump titles at the state track and field championships, stripping the rightful female winners of their titles.

Trump called the state out for violating Title IX and gave it 10 days to comply with his executive order, prompting the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) to adjust its rules. However, full compliance with federal law has not happened.

5. Target listened

During 2023 and 2024’s Pride Months, Target debuted Pride collections that included “tuck-friendly” swimsuits, LGBTQ-themed children’s and baby clothing, and pro-trans merchandise designed by a self-proclaimed Satanist.

Liz was one of millions who joined the nationwide boycott against Target.

And it worked. This year, the Pride collection has been replaced with patriotic Independence Day-themed merchandise.

“Now you walk into a Target and you see July 4 stuff – red, white, and blue fireworks, patriotism plastered on the walls,” and “you do not see ‘trans the kids’ paraphernalia,” Liz celebrates.

6. Riley Gaines: 1, Simone Biles: 0

In early June, Olympic gold gymnast icon Simone Biles lashed out at NCAA champion swimmer and women’s sports advocate Riley Gaines when Gaines commented on a post from the Minnesota State High School League celebrating Champlin Park High School’s girls’ softball team, which includes a transgender pitcher. “Comments off lol. To be expected when your star player is a boy,” Gaines wrote.

Biles, in a now deleted tweet, responded: “You’re truly sick, all of this campaigning because you lost a race. Straight up sore loser. You should be uplifting the trans community and perhaps finding a way to make sports inclusive OR creating a new avenue where trans feel safe in sports. Maybe a transgender category IN ALL sports!!”

A back-and-forth feud quickly sparked, with Gaines accusing Biles of being a “male-apologist at the expense of young girls’ dreams” and Biles firing back with nasty character attacks, such as, “Bully someone your own size, which would ironically be a male.”

The dispute ended with Biles apologizing for her body-shaming comments and deleting her X account.

“Riley Gaines made gold medalist Simone Biles … the best female gymnast that ever lived … delete her X account,” says Liz. “If that’s not a win, I don’t know what is.”

7. Anti-ICE riots stole Pride parade media coverage

“You didn't see a lot of coverage this year of Pride parades, did you?” asks Liz. “No, instead we saw anti-ICE riots and really lame boomer No Kings Day protests.” Even better, “the anti-ICE riots were exposed as being paid-for, staged Marxist violence, and the No Kings Day riots were … pathetic, and the people involved in them were losers.”

JoJo Siwa's 'cult of self’ and UNHINGED surrogacy plan

JoJo Siwa rose to fame on the show "Dance Moms" alongside her mother, but according to BlazeTV host Allie Beth Stuckey of “Relatable,” the once-innocent performer is now “wrapped up in the cult of self.”

Siwa, 21, appeared to switch almost overnight from a kid-friendly act to a sex-positive LGBTQ icon.

“She went from like this teenage child, basically, who still dressed and acted and sang like a toddler, to apparently this grown adult who had some kind of sexual discovery and decided that she was a lesbian, and she started posting about her lesbian romantic relationships,” Stuckey says.

Siwa’s most recent music video, “Guilty Pleasure,” attempts to portray Siwa as a woman’s guilty pleasure while making a mockery out of the church.

“At one point she’s dressed up like a dark angel, she looks like she’s in hell, she’s talking about being a woman’s guilty pleasure. It’s just awful,” Stuckey says.

Now Siwa is claiming she wants to hire three surrogates and raise the children as triplets.

“I’m gay as s***,” Siwa said in an interview. “I have to plan a pregnancy much different than a straight person. I actually want to take three eggs, fertilize three eggs, and have three surrogates.”

“So technically they’ll all be the same batch, but they would all be born separately. I’m gonna have my surrogates, my babies, then maybe the little birthdays will land on different days and they can be like triplets,” she added.

Stuckey is horrified.

“How she is talking so flippantly and so selfishly about creating human life is disgusting. It should be repulsive to everyone with a moral compass,” Stuckey says.

“It is so sinful; it is so disordered,” she continues. “What we see about disordered sexuality is that it breeds more disorder and that it always puts kids in the crosshairs. It always sacrifices kids. Because when you mess with the natural order of procreation, the natural order of marriage, you are just going to get more disorder and more chaos.”

It’s not just that Siwa’s sexual depravity is clearly unhinged and that she’s so cavalier about her desire to have children, but it's the moral issue surrounding surrogacy itself.

“Kids are not gifts; they are not rights. Just because you have a good desire does not justify the means, which is the unethical IVF process, which involves eugenics and also the renting of wombs, which is unethical, and also the forced fatherlessness — which is just immoral.”

'No more low blows': How the Trump campaign can DEFEAT Kamala Harris

Donald Trump’s heroic behavior immediately following the assassination attempt against him understandably had the Democrat Party doubting Joe Biden’s ability to come out on top in the coming 2024 election.

Which is why he’s finally been forced out and replaced with Kamala Harris.

“So now it’s Kamala Harris, who is a foot soldier of every far-left progressive cause. She is beholden, not, I don’t think, to her own party, or even her own belief system, or even her own personal ideology,” Allie Beth Stuckey of “Relatable” explains.

“She’s certainly not beholden to the Constitution or to the country. She is beholden only to power. She has shown that throughout her career. She is beholden to Planned Parenthood in the abortion lobby, she is beholden to the so-called Human Rights Campaign and the LGBTQ lobby,” Stuckey continues.

While conservatives have been pointing out that her record as a prosecutor flies in direct opposition to the liberals' anti-police message, Stuckey doesn’t believe that’s the angle to attack her from.

“We have to attack her from the left, not the right. What I mean by that is stop calling her ‘Kamala the cop,’ that she put too many people in jail for marijuana. Stop talking about the fact that oh, in a speech a few months ago she called 18- to 24-year-olds stupid,” she explains.

“Those are literally the best things that she has done,” Stuckey adds.

“Let’s stay above board. Let’s call it what it is. She is a radical communist-leaning tyrant who is bloodthirsty and the most pro-abortion politician that we’ve got. She has been in charge of the border for the last four years, and every single murder by an illegal alien happened on her watch,” she continues.

Rather than calling Harris a “ho” and pointing out her past relationships with men like Willie Brown, Stuckey believes we must attack her on policy.

“We can attack her on policy, and we can, Trump campaign, paint a positive vision of the United States while also contrasting that with the dark reality of an anti-fracking, anti-energy-independence, pro-inflation, pro-nine-month-abortion future with Kamala Harris.”

“You can do that without name-calling, without doing the low blows. Because every time you do that, you are garnering sympathy for Harris and Joe Biden,” she says.

JoJo Siwa makes ‘Dancing with the Stars’ history as she’s paired with a female dancing partner: ‘So excited’ to be ‘dancing with a girl’

Pop superstar JoJo Siwa will be one half of the first same-sex couple on ABC's hit show, "Dancing with the Stars," according to Variety.

ABC revealed the news during Thursday's Television Critics Association gathering.

What are the details?

Siwa, who came out as pansexual in April, said, "It's really special that not only now do I get to share with the world that you get to love who you want to love, but also you get a dance with whom you want to dance. There's a lot of barriers that we're going to have to break through — who leads, how do you dress, what shoes do you wear? But I think it's all something that I'm looking forward to. It's going to be tricky, but it's going to give so much to people out there — people of the LGBTQ community, people who feel just a little different. It's going to give them a sense of happiness."

In April, Siwa announced that she was in a same-sex relationship with Florida native Kylie Prew.

At the time, she said, "It's like, I want to figure [sexuality] out. And I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I'm Ky-sexual. But like, I don't know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight."

"I always just say 'gay' because it just kind of covers it or 'queer' because I think the keyword is cool," Siwa admitted at the time. "I like 'queer.' Technically, I would say that I'm pansexual, because that's how I have always been my whole life, is just like, my human is my human. And if that person happened to be a boy, great, and if that person happened to be a girl, great!"

Variety reported Thursday that when she first received an email asking if she would be a part of the long-running show's new season, she was offered the choice of whether to be partnered with a male or a female dancer.

"I want to make it OK for the people who come after me," she said of her decision to dance with another woman. "I want to make everything OK for the people who come after me."

What else?

In a statement, GLAAD said that Siwa's groundbreaking decision was to be applauded for uplifting the LGBTQ community.

“The show has such a wide, far-reaching audience and there is a real opportunity here for people to celebrate the same-sex pairing and root for JoJo and all LGBTQ young people," a GLAAD spokesperson said.

The remainder of the Season 30 lineup will be announced Sept. 8. The dance competition show begins on Monday, Sept. 20.

In a promo video for the show, Siwa says, "I am so excited to be a part of this year's 'Dancing with the Stars,' season 30, and to be dancing with a girl, I think it's so cool."

"It's gonna be the best ever, I can't wait to just dance every single week, I can't wait to meet my partner, oh my gosh there are so many things I'm so excited for!" she gushed.

17-year-old superstar JoJo Siwa says she’s ‘pansexual’: ‘I still don’t know what I am’

JoJo Siwa, a 17-year-old dancer, singer, and actress, says she's "pansexual" after coming out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community in January.

What are the details?

In a new cover story with People, JoJo said that she was reluctant to "label" herself when she first decided to come out, but later revealed that she's very happy in her relationship with her 18-year-old girlfriend, Kylie Prew.

"I still don't know what I am," she admitted. "It's like, I want to figure it out. And I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I'm Ky-sexual. But like, I don't know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight."

The 17-year-old added, "I always just say 'gay' because it just kind of covers it or 'queer' because I think the keyword is cool."

"I like 'queer,'" she added. "Technically, I would say that I'm pansexual, because that's how I have always been my whole life, is just like, my human is my human. And if that person happened to be a boy, great, and if that person happened to be a girl, great!"

What else?

Pop star Demi Lovato, 28, also recently came out as pansexual, and in a recent interview, said that she's attracted to "anything, really."

Of her newly accepted sexuality, Lovato said, "I'm so fluid now, and a part of the reason why I am so fluid is because I was, like, super closeted off."

She also said that it was only when she broke off her engagement to actor Max Ehrich that she realized the full scope of her pansexuality.

"Regardless if drama is happening or not, I am too gay to marry a man right now," she said at the time. "I don't know if that will change in 10 years and I don't know if that'll never change, but I love accepting myself.

"I've always known I was hella queer, but I have fully embraced it," Lovato concluded.
