CNN host snaps when Kevin O'Leary points out why Trump civil fraud ruling is 'absolutely horrific': 'Hold on a second'

CNN anchor Laura Coates snapped at businessman Kevin O'Leary on Monday for insisting that Donald Trump is being treated unfairly.

On Monday, Trump's attorneys revealed the former president is unable to post the nearly half-billion dollars required of him to appeal the New York civil fraud ruling against him. New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) — who campaigned on targeting Trump — has repeatedly threatened to seize Trump's assets if he does not pay the outrageous fine.

Such a message, O'Leary told Coates, is "horrible" and uniquely anti-American.

"What a great message to send out all around the world. Take a claim where there was no money is lost. There was no fraud here in the context of actually people losing money. Deutsche Bank, who made the loan, was made whole," O'Leary said.

"Great message for New York. Great message for America," he mocked. "I think that was a statement that would be much better made sometime in Venezuela. I'm not kidding. That's a scary, scary message."

He continued, "There are no half a billion-dollar bonds. Never been done before. Never. This law has never been applied. Forget about Trump. Nothing to do with Trump. Everything to do about America and the New York brand. I love this state. My children live here. A horrible message to everybody around the world watching this. Absolutely horrific."

NEW: Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary slams AG Letitia James and Judge Arthur Engoron seizing Donald Trump's assets 'like in Venezuela or Cuba' during heated CNN shouting match.

"This may be great for the attorney general, but this is not good for America."

"Forget about Trump. You… pic.twitter.com/yzb6YhPKfc
— KanekoaTheGreat (@KanekoaTheGreat) March 19, 2024

O'Leary wasn't finished making his point, which was that James has not considered the long-term ramifications of targeting Trump. But Coates decided that O'Leary was done, and she began interrupting him.

"Wait, Kevin. Kevin, hold on a second," Coates interrupted. "Hold on a second."

But O'Leary continued speaking and tried to finish his idea, leading Coates to declare, "I have a wonderful voice, and it won’t be talked over!"

"What are you doing?" she then asked him.

"It's not America, but it is the 'Laura Coates Live' show, and I am speaking. So, that will be the rule. Not Venezuela," Coates continued. "It's 'Laura Coates Live.' And hello, my name is Laura Coates."

O'Leary has been a staunch critic of the ruling against Trump, famously declaring that he will never conduct business in New York again because of it.

Dr. Phil tells Joe Rogan the cold, hard truth about the medical industry pushing transgender ideology on children

Dr. Phil McGraw is calling out the medical industry for pushing radical pro-trans ideology on children.

During a conversation on "The Joe Rogan Experience" about how institutions of power are pushing their ideologies on children, Dr. Phil criticized medical organizations for promoting trans ideology despite a lack of scientific evidence.

"It's interesting they choose words like 'gender-affirming care.' That's interesting that they call it that. But really what they’re talking about is hormonal therapy or sex reassignment surgery on children," Dr. Phil said.

"The American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Endocrine Society or whatever the exact name of that is — all of the major medical associations have signed off on this," he continued. "I have never seen those organizations sign off on anything with less information as to whether or not it does long-term harm of anything in my life. When I ask about that, when I bring that up, then they immediately label you as 'transphobic.'"

Importantly, Dr. Phil noted that several European countries have rolled back and severely restricted their "gender-affirming care" because science shows it does more long-term harm than good — if it does any good at all.

Moreover, Dr. Phil challenged the argument that trans activists use to bully people into affirming their view: that not affirming someone's feelings about themselves leads that person to suicide.

"Their reason for [promoting trans ideology] is it stops this drive for suicide — that there's a suicide epidemic. It doesn’t fix that," he said. "It doesn't fix all the comorbid issues that come along with feeling like they're in the wrong body. But yet they're pushing this."

🚨NEW: Joe Rogan and Dr. Phil discuss the American medical system's endorsement of hormonal therapy and sexual reassignment surgery for children.

"I thought the deal was first do no harm."

"They choose words like 'gender-affirming care,' but really what they're talking about is… pic.twitter.com/tatUap16WR
— KanekoaTheGreat (@KanekoaTheGreat) February 20, 2024

Later in the episode, Dr. Phil condemned teachers and school systems that promote hiding information from parents about children who are struggling with gender dysphoria.

"I've talked to a lot of teachers, and they're telling me that they have a duty to the children that if the child is not ready to talk to their parents about this, that it's OK for them to keep a secret from [the parents]," he revealed.

The problem, Dr. Phil explained, is that gender dysphoria is "either a psychological phenomenon or a medical phenomenon" — and because teachers are not trained in either field, they are not qualified to make decisions about children struggling with gender dysphoria. More importantly, teachers who encourage students to lie to their parents are negatively interfering in the child's relationship with their parents.

"Their justification for that is, 'Well, if the child goes home and announces this, or if we tell it to the parent, then the child could get abused, the child could get judged, the child could get kicked to the curb.' But they have to admit, statistically, that that is very rare. And if that's the case, that's what we have the Department of Child and Family Services for.

"But you don't come between the child and their parent," Dr. Phil said. "The parent has the right to know what's going on."

Joe Rogan slams COVID vaccine advocate who called him a 'neofascist,' challenges him to big money debate with RFK Jr., then Elon Musk jumps into the fray

Joe Rogan blasted a COVID vaccine advocate over accusing him of spreading health misinformation and calling him a "neofascist." Rogan challenged the vaccine researcher to debate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and backed it up with a huge payday for charity.

Peter Hotez is a self-described "internationally-recognized physician-scientist in neglected tropical diseases and vaccine development." Hotez expanded his public profile during the COVID-19 pandemic by making countless appearances on cable news, where he rigorously advocated the COVID vaccine for all ages.

On Saturday morning, Hotez shared an article on Twitter from Vice titled: "Spotify Has Stopped Even Sort of Trying to Stem Joe Rogan’s Vaccine Misinformation."

Hotez wrote, "And from all the online attacks I’m receiving after this absurd podcast, it’s clear many actually believe this nonsense."

The Vice article attacked Rogan's recent interview on Spotify with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. – a skeptic of the mRNA vaccines and Democratic presidential candidate challenging Joe Biden.

The Vice writer claimed that the interview was "an orgy of unchecked vaccine misinformation, some conspiracy-mongering about 5G technology and Wi-Fi, and, of course, Rogan once again praising ivermectin, an ineffective faux COVID treatment."

The writer asserted that "The Joe Rogan Experience" episode promoted "Kennedy’s most dangerously incorrect views, a far too extensive list to outline in full, all of which Rogan accepted uncritically, his mouth quite often literally agape in awe."

Rogan fired back at Hotez on Saturday night with a challenge, "Peter, if you claim what RFK Jr. is saying is 'misinformation' I am offering you $100,000.00 to the charity of your choice if you’re willing to debate him on my show with no time limit."

Hotez responded to Rogan, but then quickly deleted the tweet, "Be serious Joe, that's what you throw out for your hunting buddies on a weekend. $50 million endowment (which You/Spotify/RFK Jr. can easily afford), not for me but so we can continue making low-cost patent-free vaccines for the world's poor. Preceded by RFK Jr.'s public apology."

Hotez replied to Rogan, "Joe, you have my cell, my email, I'm always willing to speak with you."

Rogan slammed Hotez, "This is a non-answer. I challenged you publicly because you publicly quote tweeted and agreed with that dogs**t Vice article. If you're really serious about what you stand for, you now have a massive opportunity for a debate that will reach the largest audience a discussion."

The prolific podcaster added, "To those misunderstanding what he’s saying, he’s NOT agreeing to debate @RobertKennedyJr. He’s just offering to come on my show by himself."

Rogan shared a reported screenshot of a May 2023 tweet from Hotez claiming that he was "concerned" about a "pretty formidable coalition with neofascist leanings" that included Rogan, RFK Jr., Elon Musk, and Tucker Carlson.

Hotez later deleted the tweet because he said, "I decided to take down my tweet on the Tucker-Elon alliance. Some very smart people I respect thought my concerns were premature or shouldn’t be labeled at this point. Another, too over-the-top. I agreed, guess we’ll see what unfolds."

Rogan asked Hotez, "Are you sure I’m not a part of a coalition with neofascist leanings? Seems like that’s what you really think, or what you’re projecting to the masses."

“Are you sure I’m not a part of a coalition with neofascist leanings? Seems like that’s what you really think, or what you’re projecting to the masses.”
— Joe Rogan (@Joe Rogan) 1687047561

RFK Jr. accepted the challenge, "Peter. Let’s finally have the respectful, congenial, informative debate that the American people deserve."

Elon Musk jumped into the fray by replying, "Maybe @PeterHotez just hates charity."

Musk asked Hotez if he "endorses" Vice, then shared a 2007 Vice article documenting Columbian women who have sex with donkeys.

Musk told Rogan on Twitter, "He’s afraid of a public debate, because he knows he’s wrong."

Hotez lashed out at Musk, "Seriously Elon? This is monstrous. 200,000 Americans needlessly perished (including 40,000 Texans, our neighbors) because they were victims of antivaccine disinformation during our awful Covid delta/BA.1 waves in 2021-22. Please don’t do this."

Musk retorted:

"First of all, I am generally pro vaccine. I have been vaccinated against pretty much everything, as have my kids. Second, I think there is tremendous promise in synthetic mRNA. It is like medicine going from analog to digital. That said, the world obviously went crazy with excess vaccination against 'Covid-19.' I have that in quotes, because the RNA sequences changed so much that I called it the virus of Theseus. So many people I know had serious side effects from the vaccines, including myself. Failure to acknowledge that is a lie. As for the deaths you claim are due to COVID-19, why is the nation of Sweden still alive!? Just go on Rogan and do the debate."

Hotez then wrote on Twitter, "Let’s remember what this is about, not a small number of Americans lost their lives from antivaccine disinformation during the pandemic. 200,000 Americans perished, 40,000 from my State of Texas I have nothing personal vs Joe, Elon, RFK Jr. Just hoping to halt more destruction."

Hotez added, "Not easy to respond when those 3 gang up and tag team. Wish I could be more eloquent and clever when the moment demands, but there you are."

Hotez later retweeted the Twitter account for the "Sorry Not Sorry" podcast by liberal activist Alyssa Milano, which read: "For the record, @PeterHotez has been on our podcast multiple times. He doesn’t need to debate a science-denier on the podcast of someone who has given platforms to science deniers. He’s already won the debate with the truth."

Rogan has had Hotez as a guest on "The Joe Rogan Experience" in 2019 and 2020.

Rogan previously invited Hotez to debate RFK Jr., but deflected by comparing him to a "Holocaust denier."

“Listen to Hotez explain to @joerogan why he doesn’t want to debate @RobertKennedyJr on vaccines

“He’s an attorney, he is very clever!… what am I? Im just a scientist…”

do you think this reason is legit?
@elonmusk”
— aussie17 (@aussie17) 1687053204

During a previous interview, Rogan challenged Hotez about how he enhances his immunity without vaccines. Hotez admitted that he is a "junk foodaholic," which Rogan pointed out that there is a "large body of data that connects poor diet to a host of diseases."

Rogan questioned why Hotez doesn't regularly take vitamins, and the scientist said he "didn't think they're needed."

Hotez quickly changed the subject, "But you still need your vaccines."

Rogan rebutted, "But vaccines aren't going to prevent cancer."

“.@JoeRogan grills Dr. Peter Hotez for exclusively promoting vaccines while disregarding exercise, vitamins, and a healthy diet:

"There's a large body of data that connects poor diet to a host of diseases... You don't think vitamins are needed while you eat junk food?"”
— KanekoaTheGreat (@KanekoaTheGreat) 1687058359

Earlier this week, independent journalist Matt Taibbi questioned the consistency of COVID vaccine messaging from Hotez during the coronavirus pandemic.

“In his latest video, @0rf shows a before-and-after history of statements by celebrated health expert Dr. Peter Hotez:

BEFORE: “If you wait, it’s going to be too late to protect your child... AOC ridiculed for celebrating Carlson's ousting and saying 'deplatforming works'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) took to social media Monday to celebrate Fox News' ousting of Tucker Carlson, just days after she suggested that the government should clamp down on the news network.
Critics online have roundly ridiculed the Democratic lawmaker over her comments, highlighting her apparent affinity for shutting down opposing views, this time by corporate means and possibly with the help of statist pressure.

"Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News," the democratic socialist said gleefully in the video. "Couldn't have happened to a better guy."

Ocasio-Cortez indicated she was "very glad" that Fox News gave Carlson the boot, repeating the claim that he was "arguably responsible" for "driving some of the most, uh, amounts of death threats and violent threats, not just to my office but to plenty of people across the country."

While delighted by this turn of events, Ocasio-Cortez acknowledged that Carlson's days of calling her out are likely far from over.

"Um, I also kind of feel like I'm like waiting for the cut scene at the end of a Marvel movie, after all the credits have rolled, and then you see like the villain's like hand re-emerge out to grip over like the end of a building or something," she said.

The democratic socialist held off on her more controversial statement until the end of the video, where she stated, "Deplatforming works and it is important and um, there you go. Good things can happen."

“.@AOC on @TuckerCarlson: “Deplatforming works and it is important.””

Independent journalist Kyle Becker responded to the video, tweeting, "This is the only way the radical left can defeat its political opposition. Terrorism, censorship, guerilla warfare, purging its ideological opposition."

Alex Lorusso, an executive producer at Newsmax, wrote, "The Democratic Party is the Party of Censorship."

One Twitter user branded Ocasio-Cortez "The Bronx Bolshevik."

Another argued, "Deplatforming does work in most cases (it won't in Carlson's case) but it is also the tool of people whose ideas either can't stand scrutiny or debate and/or those with totalitarian impulses."

Whereas Ocasio-Cortez had been more suggestive, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was explicit last week when he called on Fox News CEO Rupert Murdoch to deplatform Carlson:

“Just weeks ago, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer called on Rupert Murdoch to take Tucker Carlson off the air.”
— Charlie Kirk (@Charlie Kirk) 1682355857

Like Schumer, this was not the first time Ocasio-Cortez took aim at independent-minded journalists.

The New York Post reported that in 2021, Ocasio-Cortez had mulled over ways to help "rein in" the free press and combat undesirable information.

"It’s one thing to have differentiating opinions, but it’s another thing entirely to just say things that are false," she said. "So that’s something that we’re looking into."

Whereas Ocasio-Cortez is "very glad" to see her critics deplatformed, she has spoken out in the past when those who share her views have lost their jobs at corporate news outlets.

In 2018, Temple Hill professor Marc Lamont Hill got fired from CNN, where he was a contributor, for making statements widely interpreted to be a call for the ruination of Israel.

The National Council of Young Israel said, "With his racist views and unabashed denigration of Israel, Dr. Hill does not deserve to be given any sort of platform that facilitates the dissemination of his bigotry, whether it be on Cable TV or in a classroom," reported The Hill.

In an interview with the New Yorker, Ocasio-Cortez bemoaned Hill's termination by CNN, saying, "There was no discussion about it, no engagement, no thoughtful discourse over it, just pure accusation."

Ocasio-Cortez later attempted to define cancel culture in 2020, noting that "the term 'cancel culture' comes from entitlement - as though the person complaining has the right to a large, captive audience,& one is a victim if people choose to tune them out. Odds are you're not actually cancelled, you're just being challenged, held accountable, or unliked."

According to the Democratic lawmaker, the people who are actually canceled include Palestinian human rights advocates, abolitionists, anti-capitalists, and anti-imperialists, "not spicy 'contrarians' who want to play devils advocate w/ your basic rights."

“Many of the people actually “cancelled” are those long denied a fair hearing of their ideas to begin w/:

Palestinian human rights advocates
Abolitionists
Anticapitalists
Anti-imperialists

Not spicy “contrarians” who want to play devils advocate w/ your basic rights in the NYT”
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) 1594341837
While Ocasio-Cortez is evidently sensitive to the possibility that the same tactics she now celebrates could be wielded against her, on Twitter for instance, Elon Musk intimated Monday night that it is a bad road to take.
Musk tweeted, "If we lose freedom of speech, it's never coming back."

The Twitter CEO was responding to a video wherein South African venture capitalist David Sacks discussed an "illiberal agenda" that "involves censorship, and de-platforming, including economic de-platforming, and this collusion between state power and the security state and these tech monopolies and the media. This idea that we have all the right answers. This is fundamentally an illiberal agenda."

“.@DavidSacks: "Well, on @elonmusk criticizing the woke mind virus, what he's really criticizing is this intolerant agenda that involves censorship, and de-platforming, including economic de-platforming, and this collusion between state power and the security state and these tech…”

Assassination attempt on Japanese prime minister thwarted by bodyguards after would-be assassin throws pipe bomb

A pipe bomb was thrown at Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida during a speech in Western Japan, but security guards quickly reacted to protect the politician, multiple outlets report.

Witnesses say they saw an object that appeared to be a thin, metal thermos that flew and landed near the prime minister, believed to be a homemade pipe bomb, ABC News has reported. The incident comes just nine months after the former Japanese prime minister was assassinated.

In footage posted by the Daily Wire, the bomb bounces toward the prime minister until a bodyguard blocks it with his briefcase and kicks it away before ushering the leader out of the area. At the same time, the security guard unfolds the briefcase into a protective shield, which is believed to be bulletproof.

Another angle on the incident shows security personnel as they wrestle the suspect to the ground after he allegedly threw "the suspicious object," Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno described.

Spanish outlet Marca described the scene as a campaign stop at a fishing port in Western Japan, where the prime minister was standing with his back to the crowd until his security detail pointed out the explosive device.

Authorities, including uniformed and plainclothes officers, tackled a man wearing a white surgical mask as he held a second device, a long silver tube. From this angle, the explosion from the first alleged pipe bomb is heard off-screen.

Two possible bombs, the exploded device and another in the suspect's possession, were confiscated at the scene of the crime along with a cigarette lighter and a fruit knife.

Police then investigated the home of 24-year-old suspect Ryuji Kimura, located more than 62 miles from the site of the attack. Investigators found metal tubes, tools, and possible gunpowder

One police officer was injured in the incident at the Saikazaki port in Wakayama Prefecture. The prime minister had planned to give a speech in support of a local candidate from his party.

Piers Morgan shuts down Dem lawmaker for attacking Riley Gaines — then Gaines responds to accusations

Piers Morgan shut down Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif.) on Friday for accusing female athlete Riley Gaines of using her platform to seek attention.

Gaines made national headlines last week after she was accosted by a mob of transgender activists after she delivered a speech at San Francisco State University. The school later praised the transgender activists.

What happened with Morgan and Porter?

During an appearance on HBO's "Real Time," Porter said she "strongly" disagrees with Gaines for advocating against transgender athletes competing in women's sports. Morgan immediately challenged Porter.

"What has she actually said that is wrong?" he asked.

"I think that what she has done is try to turn this — we talked about people becoming — using things to kind of get likes and get clicks," Porter responded.

"That's not what she's doing," Morgan shot back. "All I've seen her do is stand up for women’s rights to fairness and equality. She actually competed against Lia Thomas, and it was obviously unfair. Lia Thomas won one of the races in the NCAA Championships by 50 seconds against a bunch of biological females who simply couldn't keep up. That cannot be right. It cannot be fair."

Instead, Porter said that sporting bodies should decide who gets to compete and said that Gaines is speaking only for herself.

"I think she’s speaking for pretty much every female athlete in the world," Morgan fired back.

“Piers Morgan and Bill Maher say Riley Gaines is standing up for female athletes worldwide, Lia Thomas has no place in women's swimming, and it's wrong to allow transgender athletes to decimate women's sports records:

Rep. — KanekoaTheGreat (@KanekoaTheGreat) 1681610884

How did Gaines respond?

The former All-SEC swimmer made it clear on Saturday that she is not simply speaking for herself and she is definitely not speaking out to gain attention.

"Hey @RepKatiePorter I'm not speaking up for myself," Gaines responded on Saturday.

"I'm done playing sports. I'm not fighting for me. I'm actually supposed to be in dental school this year," she explained. "But I've changed my life plans because I see what's at stake if someone doesn't fight for the present and next generation."

Gaines added that she is confused as to why women fight against "sex-based protections."

"Why is it always women fighting against sex-based protections? That will forever be beyond me," she said.

“Hey @RepKatiePorter I'm not speaking up for myself...I'm done playing sports. I'm not fighting for me. I'm actually supposed to be in dental school this year. But I've changed my life plans because I see what's at stake if someone doesn't fight for the present and next generation”

Woody Harrelson's 'Saturday Night Live' COVID monologue riles elites; Musk calls it 'based'

Woody Harrelson's "Saturday Night Live" monologue garnered instant backlash and praise over commentary hinting at government's collusion with media and the medical industry to require COVID vaccines.

"So the movie goes like this," 61-year-old Harrelson begins. "The biggest drug cartels in the world get together and buy up all the media and all the politicians and force all the people in the world to stay locked in their homes. And people can only come out if they take the cartel's drugs and keep taking them over and over."

Harrelson set up the bit by joking about a script he was reading in 2019 in Central Park while smoking marijuana.

He concluded the joke with, "I threw the script away. I mean, who was going to believe that crazy idea? Being forced to do drugs? I do that voluntarily all day."

Twitter CEO Elon Musk was quick to add his thoughts as social media approached meltdown over Harrelson's routine.

"So based. Nice work @nbcsnl!" Musk tweeted.

“@Jason So based. Nice work @nbcsnl!”
— @jason (@@jason) 1677395866

Musk used a bullseye target emoji to respond to a post by @KanekoaTheGreat. @KanekoaTheGreat had joked about media's apparent hypocrisy in its own response to Harrelson's joke.

“@KanekoaTheGreat 🎯”
— kanekoa.substack.com (@kanekoa.substack.com) 1677396896

Musk also responded to users @EndWokeness and @ImMeme0 who commented on the media's instant, negative response to Harrelson suggesting media had colluded with government and the medical industry.

"Maybe they don't realize that their propaganda is wrong?" Musk tweeted.

— End Wokeness (@End Wokeness) 1677395078

Rolling Stone was out at 12:37 a.m. Sunday morning with a piece blasting Harrelson's monologue as "bizarre." In the piece, the author says Harrelson has a "history of strange anti-science remarks during the COVID pandemic."

The outlet tweeted about Harrelson's joke, saying it amounted to spreading "conspiracy theories."

“Woody Harrelson spreads Covid conspiracy theories during SNL monologue: "The biggest drug cartels in the world get together and buy up all the media and all the politicians and force all the people in the world to stay locked in their homes..." https://t.co/QxCZSxLSvE”
— Rolling Stone (@Rolling Stone) 1677389841

Rolling Stone was joined by multiple left-leaning outlets in panning Harrelson's monologue. Others included Variety, the Daily Beast, and HuffPost. The tenor of the pieces was negative, and cast Harrelson's jokes as "anti-vax."

A native Texan and long time advocate of marijuana decriminalization, 61-year-old Harrelson was cast as character Woody on "Cheers" in 1982. He later starred in many hit films including "Doc Hollywood," "White Men Can't Jump," "Indecent Proposal," "No Country for Old Men," and "The Hunger Games."

Harrelson's latest film, "Champions," is coming to theaters on March 10, Movie Insider reports.
