Elon Musk reinstates Babylon Bee, Jordan Peterson, and Kathy Griffin on Twitter – decision on Donald Trump ban hangs in the balance

Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced that several formerly suspended accounts have been reinstated. However, a decision regarding repealing the ban of former President Donald Trump has yet to be made.

Musk announced a "new Twitter policy" regarding freedom of speech that would penalize "negative" and "hate" tweets by diminishing their reach on the social media platform.

"New Twitter policy is freedom of speech, but not freedom of reach," Musk tweeted on Friday. "Negative/hate tweets will be max deboosted & demonetized, so no ads or other revenue to Twitter. You won’t find the tweet unless you specifically seek it out, which is no different from rest of Internet."

Musk noted that only the "negative" tweets would be deboosted, but not the entire Twitter account.

Musk did not specify what qualifies a tweet to be "negative" or "hate" and did not say who would determine what tweets are harmful.

Musk then revealed that the Babylon Bee, Jordan Peterson, and Kathy Griffin "have been reinstated."

However, he added, "Trump decision has not yet been made."

“Kathie Griffin, Jorden Peterson & Babylon Bee have been reinstated.

Trump decision has not yet been made.”
— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1668796307

The Babylon Bee – a satirical political website – was suspended in March for posting an article titled: "The Babylon Bee's Man Of The Year Is Rachel Levine."

Levine is President Joe Biden's assistant secretary for health in the Department of Health and Human Services. Levine is a biological male who is now openly transgender.

The post was flagged as "'hateful conduct," and the account was suspended.

The Babylon Bee responded to its reinstatement with a tweet that read: "We're back. Let that sink in."

The tweet references a pun Musk made last month when he first entered the Twitter headquarters while carrying a sink.

“We're back. Let that sink in.”
— The Babylon Bee (@The Babylon Bee) 1668795937

Peterson was banned in July for "hateful conduct" regarding tweets mentioning Elliot Page. The professor emeritus of psychology at the University of Toronto called Page the previous name before the transgender transition or what is known as deadnaming. Deadnaming is referring to a transgender person as the name that was used before the transition.

Griffin was suspended earlier this month for impersonating Musk. Even before Musk took over Twitter, it was against the social media network's terms of service to impersonate someone.

Trump was banned from Twitter in January 2021. Twitter said Trump was permanently suspended from Twitter "due to the risk of further incitement of violence" surrounding the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol building.

Glenn Beck interviewed Trump on Election Day and asked if he plans to return to Twitter.

"You know, I have something that I think you're familiar with," Trump told Beck. "I have something called 'Truth [Social],' and Truth has been amazing. Actually, I like it better ... and I own Truth also, to be honest with you. So, it's become quite valuable. We have, you know, millions of people on there — millions — and it's gaining rapidly."

Kathy Griffin uses her dead mother's Twitter account to resume war with Elon Musk after getting suspended from platform for impersonating him

Comedian and left-wing attack dog Kathy Griffin began using her dead mother's Twitter account to continue doing battle with new Twitter owner Elon Musk after she was suspended from the social media platform Sunday for impersonating him.

“@elonmusk I’m back from the grave to say…
#FreeKathy
#TipIt”
— Elon Musk (@Elon Musk) 1667775222

"I'm back from the grave to say ... #FreeKathy ..." the account for Griffin's late mother read Sunday evening. That was followed by the following message: "Apologize in advance for all the comments you’re gonna have to read about how ugly I am, and they’re probably gonna throw you in there, too. Oh, by the way this is KG. I’m tweeting from my dead mother’s account. She would not mind."

Musk, as he is wont to do, expertly trolled Griffin, noting on Twitter that "actually, she was suspended for impersonating a comedian" — a quip that's garnered nearly 450,000 likes and counting since Sunday evening.

He wasn't done:

Griffin gets all worked up

Griffin can be a relentlessly surly soul when she's offended. We're talking about someone who accused a non-celebrity of attending the Jan. 6 riots and reported the person to the FBI — all after this everyday individual called Griffin "despicable."

So you know she's obsessed with digging into Musk with her myriad claws.

After Musk joked that Griffin was "suspended for impersonating a comedian," she got predictably fired up:

“@elonmusk @bennyjohnson @kathygriffin I mean… you stole that joke, you asshole. People have been posting that joke for hours, you hack.
Look, please do a better job running this company. It used to mean something.
This is KG btw”
— Benny Johnson (@Benny Johnson) 1667777736

“I mean… you stole that joke, you asshole,” she wrote from her deceased mom's account. “People have been posting that joke for hours, you hack. Look, please do a better job running this company. It used to mean something. This is KG btw.”

Some other tries from Griffin:

“@saraschaefer1 I honestly think it’s because it’s me, and because the tweets I was trying to write in his voice were pro democrats and had hashtags like #VoteBlueToProtectWomen and #voteblue and pro @BetoORourke etc.
Oh Sara, this is KG btw.”
— Maggie Griffin (@Maggie Griffin) 1667791219
“Elon, this is Maggie contacting you from the spirit world tell u…you’re a douchebag. This is not parody. This is the actual ghost of Kathy Griffin’s boxed wine loving mother saying I’m gonna get tipsy & throw my bingo cards at you! NOT A PARODY.
To the moon, a**hole. #FreeKathy”
— Maggie Griffin (@Maggie Griffin) 1667835391

The New York Post noted that Griffin "risks getting her mom’s account suspended too because Twitter’s 'ban evasion policy' clearly states that 'Twitter reserves the right to also permanently suspend any other account we believe the same account holder or entity may be operating in violation of our earlier suspension, regardless of when the other account was created.'"

Griffin's long line of nastiness

Back in 2017, Griffin was granted a short respite from her life on the D list after infamously posing with a fake bloody head of then-President Donald Trump during a photo shoot. She soon apologized in the wake of massive backlash, and the stunt earned her a visit from the Secret Service. Later that year, Griffin took back her apology.

As readers of TheBlaze know all too well, Griffin's nastiness is legendary:

Kathy Griffin's Twitter account gets suspended after impersonating Elon Musk, new CEO announces strict rules against impersonations

Comedian and progressive activist Kathy Griffin had her Twitter account suspended on Sunday after violating the social media platform's terms of service. Griffin had been impersonating Elon Musk on Twitter.

Griffin altered her Twitter account to make it appear that it was Musk's official page. She changed her feature image to the same photo that Musk has and renamed her account to "Elon Musk."

Screenshots show Griffin was also impersonating Musk in her tweets. In the impersonating tweets, Griffin instructed people to vote for Democrats in the midterm elections.

Griffin's Twitter account was suspended.

“BREAKING: @KathyGriffin has been permanently suspended from Twitter for impersonating @ElonMusk”
— Benny Johnson (@Benny Johnson) 1667777736

Even before Musk took over Twitter, it was against the social media network's terms of service to impersonate someone.

You may not impersonate individuals, groups, or organizations to mislead, confuse, or deceive others, nor use a fake identity in a manner that disrupts the experience of others on Twitter.

We want Twitter to be a place where people can find authentic voices. That means one should be able to trust that the person or organization featured in an account’s profile genuinely represents the account owner. While you are not required to display your real name or image on your profile, your account should not engage in impersonation or pose as someone who doesn’t exist in order to deceive others. Accounts that use deceptive identities can create confusion, as well as undermine the integrity of conversations on Twitter. For this reason, you may not misappropriate the identity of another person, group, or organization, or create a fake identity for deceptive purposes.

Accounts that impersonate others face profile modifications, temporary account suspension, and permanent suspension.

On Sunday, Musk issued a stern warning for anyone thinking about impersonating other accounts.

"Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying 'parody' will be permanently suspended," Musk tweeted. "Previously, we issued a warning before suspension, but now that we are rolling out widespread verification, there will be no warning."

"This wil l be clearly identified as a condition for signing up to Twitter Blue," the Twitter CEO stated.

Griffin previously besmirched Musk as a "white supremacist."

"Think of the damage Zuckerberg has done. Musk is a Piers Morgan level media thirsty, vindictive, white supremacist who is looking to convince you he is an innovative disruptor," Griffin said in April.

Musk replied, "The extreme antibody reaction from those who fear free speech says it all."

Musk added, "By 'free speech', I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people."

Comedian Kathy Griffin declares, 'If you don't want a Civil War, vote for Democrats,' but 'If you do want Civil War, vote Republican'

Comedian Kathy Griffin posted a tweet on Tuesday declaring that people who do not want the U.S. to descend into civil war should support Democrats during the 2022 midterm election, while those who want a civil war should back the GOP.

"If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November. If you do want Civil War, vote Republican," Griffin tweeted.

Some on social media suggested that Griffin's post represented a threat, though the comedian pushed back against that idea.

"This is WRONG. Crazy Hollywood Leftie threatening 'Civil War' if Dems don’t win. Sadly, this is today’s Left: angry, hateful & violent," GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas tweeted.

“This is WRONG.

Crazy Hollywood Leftie threatening “Civil War” if Dems don’t win.

Sadly, this is today’s Left: angry, hateful & violent.”

"So the logic of this tweet is that the left will start a civil war if Republicans win?" tweeted Vince Coglianese, who hosts a radio program and is the Daily Caller's editorial director.

In 2017, Griffin posed while holding an object meant to resemble a bloody version of President Donald Trump's head.

An individual replied to Griffin's "Civil War" tweet on Tuesday by sharing that bloody head photo and commenting, "We had your civil war for six years now. We're used to it." Griffin responded by posting clown emojis.

Responding to Griffin's post about the 2022 elections, Kristina Wong of Breitbart remarked that the tweet "sounds like a threat."

Griffin responded to Wong's post by writing, "You guys. The maga blue checks are at it again. Because they are constantly threatening Civil War, they are now trying to suggest that I am the one who is threatening a Civil War. Because you know, that’s my thing," the comedian wrote, adding in an eye-roll emoji.

Earlier this year Griffin described billionaire business magnate Elon Musk as "a Piers Morgan level media thirsty, vindictive, white supremacist who is looking to convince you he is an innovative disruptor."

Comedian Kathy Griffin calls Elon Musk a 'white supremacist'

Comedian Kathy Griffin called business magnate Elon Musk a "white supremacist" in a tweet on Monday.

While attacking Musk, Griffin also took a swipe at media figure Piers Morgan who fired back, referencing Griffin's controversial decision years ago to pose with an object that looked like the bloodied head of then-President Donald Trump.

"Think of the damage Zuckerberg has done. Musk is a Piers Morgan level media thirsty, vindictive, white supremacist who is looking to convince you he is an innovative disruptor," Griffin declared.

"I don't think @elonmusk should take vindictive lectures from someone who gleefully posed with a mocked-up model of a US President’s severed head, then played the pitiful victim card to get herself out of any accountability for such a vile stunt," Morgan responded.

Musk has reached a deal to buy Twitter and plans to make the platform a place where people can engage in free speech.

"The extreme antibody reaction from those who fear free speech says it all," Musk tweeted on Tuesday.

"That was quick," Griffin tweeted in response to Musk's post.

Musk later added, "By 'free speech', I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people."

Shaun King has said Musk's desire to buy the company is "about white power."

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts claimed that the "deal is dangerous for our democracy."

"Let us be clear: It isn’t free speech Elon Musk is defending. It is truly free speech he fears — a society in which the chance to be heard is abundant and free and equitably distributed," Anand Giridharadas tweeted on Tuesday.

Howard Dean, a former Vermont governor and former chair of the Democratic National Convention, tweeted on Monday that "If Musk takes over Twitter I will be off within a few hours."

Dean's account "no longer exists," according to the platform.

Twitter announced on Monday that the company "entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by an entity wholly owned by Elon Musk, for $54.20 per share in cash in a transaction valued at approximately $44 billion. Upon completion of the transaction, Twitter will become a privately held company."

Kathy Griffin calls out 'scary,' misogynistic female film execs with leftist attitudes: Act like a woman

Comedian Kathy Griffin hit out at those women who she said are "scary" female entertainment and film executives for perpetuating what she described as "lethal casual misogyny."

What are the details?

In a recent discussion with Interview magazine, Griffin spoke up about her gripes with female entertainment executives and misogynists at large.

Griffin, 61, told the outlet that that many female Hollywood executives were guilty of promoting casual misogyny — an attitude that she said "tends to come from the left."

She added that such misogyny is extremely dangerous and detrimental to female entertainers, and noted that such female executives believe their road to success is to "act like the dude."

"There are women who, to be super powerful, have to act like the dude," she said. "I don't know Jennifer Salke [the head of Amazon Studios] but what I hear about her is kind of scary. I don't know any executives that are women that don't have maybe a little casual misogyny. They can be lethal because sometimes they'll just cut you off and then quietly tell all the other guys that you're a b****."

Griffin added, however, that she felt that embattled news network CNN might fare better overall with a woman at the helm.

“I’m hopeful that the network will get better, because there’s a real bro culture over there," she insisted. "And when I say bro culture, as a woman, I’ve got to include men of color, gay men, white men."

She continued, "If they get away from the kind of leadership that Jeff Zucker used over there, then they’re only going to get better. If they just put a woman at the helm — and not a corporate woman that’s been doing what Jeff wants — which has never happened, I think that’s going to change stuff pretty quickly.”

Disgraced ex-CNN host Kathy Griffin savages CNN for keeping Jeffrey Toobin following masturbation scandal

Comedienne Kathy Griffin pointed out what she claimed was a glaring double standard with regard to how CNN treated her after a media misstep when compared to CNN staffer Jeffrey Toobin.

The network cut ties with Griffin in 2017 after she went viral for holding a graphic photo of a severed head bearing former President Donald Trump's likeness.

CNN temporarily suspended chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin after he was caught masturbating on a company Zoom call.

What are the details?

Griffin on Thursday told the host of ABC's "The View" that a "double standard" was permeating the ranks of CNN.

She made the remarks after co-host Ana Navarro asked her thoughts about Rep. Paul Gosar's (R-Ariz.) tweeted a controversial doctored animated video that depicted him attacking Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y).

"I think there’s another conversation that we’re not ready to have yet in this country, unfortunately," she said, alluding to the double standard. "We’re hopefully making some strides, finally, with race. We’re having conversations, at least. But I think that we haven’t really talked about the level of misogyny and ageism that went along with all of that. I mean, I got canned from CNN, which hurt me personally because I had loved that gig."

She added, "But then for me to watch Jeffrey Toobin talking about woman’s choice after he masturbated on a Zoom call, which I know sounds funny but maybe it wasn’t so funny for the other ladies who worked at The Atlantic that had to see that."

Griffin erroneously pointed out that Toobin was a writer at the Atlantic, when he was instead a writer for the New Yorker.

While the New Yorker fired him over the offending incident, CNN permitted him to return in June, following an eight-month-long hiatus.

Anything else?

Navarro — a former CNN staffer — might not have been the most sympathetic person for Griffin to complain to, considering that she initially defended his eventual CNN return saying that he was "sexually harassing himself maybe."

"You know, actually I'm not surprised he's back on the air," she said at the time. "But I will tell you when I saw that interview, oh, God, how embarrassing, how humiliating. I kept thinking to myself, 'If I have to go on live TV and explain to the nation why I masturbated on a Zoom call, I think I would rather go sell avocados under I-95 than get my job back on TV.'"

She added that Toobin was not overtly sexually harassing anyone.

"He didn't have the intent to sexually harass somebody," she insisted. "He was sexually harassing himself maybe."

"I also think CNN is a for-profit business. If viewers don't like it, then they should make their views known," she continued. "If they wanna have some grace, if they wanna say, 'We're not gonna cancel a guy because he made a stupid mistake.' I think his bigger problem is, frankly, with himself, with his family, with his wife than it is with his CNN colleagues. Because it was not something that was done to us. It was something stupid, horrific, kinky, freaky that he did. But it wasn't something he was trying to do to us, his CNN colleagues."

Kathy Griffin gets lambasted after appearing to imply AOC isn't a US citizen: 'You represent Americans better than we represent ourselves'

Far-left comedian Kathy Griffin was berated on Twitter after she appeared to imply that Democratic U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York is not a United States citizen.

What are the details?

Griffin replied to Ocasio-Cortez's infamous tweet last week about visiting her ill grandmother in Puerto Rico that included photos of her home in disrepair and blaming former President Donald Trump for lack of Hurricane Maria relief.

Critics immediately hit back at Ocasio-Cortez, given she makes almost twice the average U.S. salary as member of Congress and reportedly owns a Tesla and rents two apartments — all of which would seem to point to AOC having the means to help out her "abuela."

But Griffin was not in the aforementioned camp and heaped gooey praise on the congresswoman — and managed to look rather silly in the process:

@AOC Thank you for continuing to do a great job. You represent Americans better than we represent ourselves. 🙏❤️🙏

— Kathy Griffin (@kathygriffin) 1622663373.0

"Thank you for continuing to do a great job," Griffin wrote back to AOC. "You represent Americans better than we represent ourselves."

Say what?

More than a few folks had a field day with Griffin for apparently implying that Ocasio-Cortez — who was born in the U.S. — is not an American citizen:

 • "Did you really just say AOC isn't an American? Lmao," one user wrote. "This is the leftist racism I was talking about. You insult people and think it's a compliment. Ya dingdongs."
 • "I'm pretty sure that @AOC was born in New York, Kathy," one commenter pointed out. "That would make her all-American."
 • "Do we need to see AOC's birth certificate Kathy?" another user asked sarcastically.
 • "White liberal women are by far the most racist people in our country," another commenter declared. "AOC is an American. SMH."
 • "So you are one of those white liberals they speak of that think non whites aren't real Americans and need your pity?" another user wondered. "Got it."
 • Another user answered the previous comment by saying, "Yup. If we have dark skin, we're victims and need the white liberals to protect us from the conservatives who want everyone to prosper, not just the liberal elite."
 • "She think she's not an American. Lol," another commenter remarked, after which another observed in response, "She instinctively thinks brown people aren't Americans."
 • "She was born here, thus is an American," another commenter said. "I know the left doesn't understand how that works, so thought I'd clear it up for you. Also she used to go by Sandy amongst her predominantly white peers in school. She's not stunning and brave."
 • "You have never represented Americans," another user told AOC before turning attention to Griffin. "PS...she grew up in NY's Westchester County, you loon. She does not do anything but ramble like a self important attention seeking fool, same as you do."
 • "Other fun things that Kathy says to Latina women: You clean our house better than we clean ourselves," another commenter wrote.
 • "Kathy, I used to love your shows. I stayed up for almost two days straight to get tickets for your last tour," another user and apparent fan replied. "But not this time, girl."

Oh, and then there was this response:

Anything else?

Some commenters also just couldn't help bringing up the hilarious subplot of the AOC "abuela" debacle: The Daily Wire's Matt Walsh managed to attract huge donations — primarily, one would assume, from his conservative followers — to help out AOC's grandmother when all the congresswoman could muster was a blame game.

And, as we soon learned, Grandma's family reportedly refused what eventually amounted to over $100,000 in donations. Who woulda thunk it?

"Thanks AOC for ensuring your dear abuela lives in trash after denying her 100K that conservatives raised to better her life," one commenter pointed out. "Guess you can keep waiting for the ... powerful State to take care of her; you and Kathy are so smart."

How does petty leftist Kathy Griffin get back at pro-Trump citizen who called her 'despicable'? By reporting citizen to FBI.

Left-wing celebrities typically ignore Twitter posts criticizing them. After all, who really cares, and who has the time?

But Kathy Griffin apparently is still living life on the D-list — and would appear to have plenty of free space on her calendar to joust with regular folk.

What happened?

Danielle McCarty – aka "Muscle Mommy Fit" and "Fit Patriot Mom" online – blasted Griffin on Jan. 9 as "despicable" for tweeting an image with a plastic severed head that looked like former President Donald Trump and the message, "Just resign now. You lost. It[']s over," LGBTQ Nation reported.

Regarding that severed head image, who can forget Griffin posing with a bloody, decapitated Trump head during a 2017 photo shoot, after which she apologized in the wake of massive backlash? The stunt earned her a visit from the Secret Service. Later that year Griffin took back her apology.

Anyway, Griffin apparently deleted her tweet that angered McCarty — but the Trump-hating comic wasn't about to endure criticism from the all-powerful "Fit Patriot Mom" without fighting back in front of her 2.1 million followers:

Oh, you shouldn’t have tagged me. You were there on Jan 6. You pulled your video, but I found it. Looks like you’re… https://t.co/X8WwarIznJ
— Kathy Griffin (@Kathy Griffin)1612046781.0

"Oh, you shouldn't have tagged me," Griffin tweeted back at McCarty. "You were there on Jan 6. You pulled your video, but I found it. Looks like you're a domestic terrorist and now we all know it, @musclemommyfit."

By "there," Griffin meant the Capitol riots.

LBGTQ Nation said someone then sent Griffin an archived copy of a video McCarty posted to Parler showing her in front of the Capitol wearing a red "TRUMP" hat.

With that, Griffin tweeted the following:

Hi Danielle. @musclemommyfit What’s that you called me, again? Ah yes, the despicable Kathy Griffin. Well, the FBI… https://t.co/1FUKWVM6oT
— Kathy Griffin (@Kathy Griffin)1612061418.0

"Hi Danielle. @musclemommyfit," Griffin began. "What's that you called me, again? Ah yes, the despicable Kathy Griffin. Well, the FBI now has this video, as well as the other ones you're featured in."

Here's one of the clips:

Danielle McCarty at Capitol insurrection youtu.be

"We got teargassed when we were in the middle of a prayer," McCarty said in the video. "We weren't even trying to rush the cops or anything. We were kneeling down and praying."

Of course, there's no evidence from the above clip that McCarty entered the Capitol — she's merely standing outside.

But was Griffin done? Not a chance. After all, she had to utterly vanquish a woman who dared call her "despicable." So Griffin dug into McCarty's Instagram and tweeted images from it:

Oh Danielle. https://t.co/uUeSCgVQVY
— Kathy Griffin (@Kathy Griffin)1612056614.0

What now?

McCarty's Twitter account – @musclemommyfit – has since been deleted, LBGTQ Nation reported, adding that her Instagram account is now private.

Griffin, on the other hand, still appears to be in a lather over McCarty's insolence, posting another tweet with other social media addresses where she says McCarty can be found.

Anything else?

As readers of TheBlaze know all too well, Griffin's Trump hatred — even beyond the severed head deal — is legendary:
