'Will you shut up, man?': Joe Biden descends into high school fight mode with Trump in first debate

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden didn't exactly treat President Donald Trump in stately fashion early in their first debate Tuesday night.

Biden called Trump "buddy," said, "this man doesn't know what he's talking about," challenged him to "keep yappin'" — and at one point asked Fox News moderator Chris Wallace and the socially distanced audience, "Folks, do you have any idea what this clown's doing?"

But the former vice president's heaviest hit at that point was pleading with the leader of the free world during one of their nearly countless contentious exchanges, "Will you shut up, man?"

Say it ain't so, Joe

Most folks probably figured Biden would unearth some version of his famous angry pushback that inevitably ends with his hippy-forward suffix ... "man!"

At least one "C'mon, man!" would have done the trick.

But no, Biden pulled out the big guns and let loose: "Will you shut up, man?"

It has to be a first for presidential debating.

What brought that on?

Wallace asked Biden if he would level with the American people regarding whether he's willing to end the Senate filibuster and pack the Supreme Court with more than its nine justices in order to bring a majority back to the political left wing, but Biden dodged the question.

And Trump — as Trump does — pushed, repeating Wallace's question to Biden.

"Are you gonna pack the court? Are you gonna pack the court?" Trump repeatedly asked Biden. "He doesn't want to answer the question."

Biden then let loose with, "Will you shut up, man?"

Trump, who's easily heard much harsher questions, pressed on: "Who is on your list, Joe?

"He's so unpresidential," Biden remarked.

Here's the clip. There are plenty of fireworks leading up to Biden's "shut up" question, but if you want to cut to the chase, that portion hits right around the 5-minute mark:

Biden Tells Trump to “Shut Up" But Isn't Ready for Trump to BRING THE FIRE! youtu.be

Leftist militants order passenger in surrounded truck to say 'Black Lives Matter,' put up his fist on Portland street

Sitcom actor Anthony Anderson may have been joking when he angrily ordered Emmys host Jimmy Kimmel to chant "Black Lives Matter!" with him louder and louder onstage at the audience-less awards show Sunday night, but leftists in Portland weren't speaking in jest when they gave the same command to a truck passenger over the weekend.

What are the details?

Journalist Kittie Shackleford posted the disturbing clip to Twitter early Sunday showing two men in a pickup truck surrounded by leftist militants on a street.

The camera focuses on the truck's passenger being confronted by the mob as its members order to him to "say Black Lives Matter, homie!"

The man — who in any other situation might appear imposing with his bald head and facial hair — meekly raises his fist but apparently isn't able to say the magic words.

"It lets us know that you're cool!" another voice shouts from the crowd, offering the man a reason for repeating the phrase.

"You put the fist up, and you've got to say Black Lives Matter!" a voice instructs him.

"Say f***ing Black Lives Matter right now!" a threatening shout is heard.

At one point the man apparently insists that he did say the phrase, but one of the leftists isn't convinced: "I didn't hear s**t, bro!"

"Loud and proud!" a voice hollers.

Finally the truck passenger apparently satisfies the leftists, and the mob appears to back off: "OK, I appreciate it," one voice says before the clip ends.

Anything else?

A subsequent clip from Shackleford shows what appears to be the same truck with its passenger window smashed out — and the man who apparently was behind the wheel during the earlier confrontation walks toward the vehicle and discovers the damage.

He is not pleased.

"Who did this?" the man growled. "You f***ing pussy! Who did it?"

It's worth pointing out that if anyone from the mob surrounding the truck earlier told the driver to put up his fist and say "Black Lives Matter," he didn't play along.

Soon the furious man is seen sprinting down a sidewalk, presumably to find the culprit who damaged his truck.

Back where we started, here we go around again

It probably won't surprise you that this wasn't the first time militant leftists took to the streets and demanded verbal tolls before letting motorists pass.

A few months ago, one unhinged protester on a Maryland street near Interstate 270 was caught on video screaming a question at passing cars: "Do black lives matter to you?!"

When a woman driver apparently ignored the question, the protester ran after the vehicle and screamed obscenities at the "Karen." Then other protesters joined in the fray and began assembling near the vehicle: "She ain't goin' nowhere ..." a male declared as a protester banged on the hood of the SUV.

The clip ends before we get to see how it was resolved.

UFC star predicts Trump 'landslide' in fiery post-victory speech — then Trump calls him live on air

UFC star Colby Covington delivered a booming post-victory speech Saturday night during which he predicted President Donald Trump will defeat Joe Biden in a "landslide" and took a shot at NBA star LeBron James and "woke athletes."

Later, Trump called Covington when he was live on air for another post-victory interview.

What did Covington say?

After Covington's fight, which he won with a total knockout, the UFC star said "Sleepy Joe" — the nickname the president has mockingly assigned Biden — will get the same result as his opponent this November at the ballot box.

"Ladies and gentleman, the silent majority is ready to make some noise. If you thought that was a beating wait until November 3rd, when Donald Trump gets his hands on Sleepy Joe. That's gonna be a landslide," Covington said.

Then Covington showered praise on first responders before taking a shot at NBA star LeBron James and "woke athletes."

"I want to dedicate this fight to all the first responders, all the military out there," he said. "This world would not be safe without you guys. You keep us safe and not these woke athletes. I'm sick of these woke athletes and these spineless cowards like LeBron James."

The Trump phone call

Later, during an interview with ESPN, Covington, wearing a red "Make America Great Again" hat adorned with Trump's autograph, received a personal call from Trump.

"You're a great fighter, man," Trump said. "I tell you, you make it so easy, I don't know how the hell you do that. Congratulations, I wanted to watch that fight tonight, I wanted to watch it, you were great."

Covington replied, "Thank you so much, Mr. President. You gave me the dragon energy when you shook my hand on Sunday at your rally. It doesn't matter if King Kong was in front of me, I was not going to lose after getting to shake your hand."

The UFC star added that it did not matter who he fought, no one could stop him from winning after having met Trump personally.

"I'm proud of you man, I'm a big fan and I'm proud of you," Trump responded. "You're tough, you're tough, you have the right spirit. So, now go win the next one, and just keep it for a long time, right? Just keep that championship for a long time. But you are something...I appreciated the shout-out tonight, too. I'm your fan, you're my fan. Two of a kind, two of a kind."

Barack Obama, Joe Biden perform total 180 on filling Supreme Court vacancy in election year

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and former President Barack Obama declared Friday the Supreme Court vacancy caused by Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death should not be filled until after the election.

Their position is a complete reversal of what they said in 2016, when Antonin Scalia's sudden death left a vacancy on the high court just nine months before the presidential election.

What did Biden say in 2016?

In response to Republicans who vowed to not consider Obama's nominee — Appellate Judge Merrick Garland — Biden said it is acceptable to move forward with Supreme Court hearings even just months before an election.

Biden's comments, made in March 2016, came in response to Republicans citing a speech he delivered in 1992 about election year Supreme Court nominations. He said:

They completely ignore the fact at the time I was speaking of the time of the dangers of nominating an extreme candidate without proper Senate consultation. They completely neglected to quote my unequivocal bottom line. So let me set the record straight as they say. I said, and I quote, "If the president consults and cooperates with the Senate or moderates his selection then nominees may enjoy my support as did Justice Kennedy and Justice Souter."

I made it absolutely clear I would go forward with the confirmation process as chairman, even a few months ahead of a presidential election, if the nominee were chosen with the advise and not merely the consent of the Senate, just as the Constitution requires."

But Biden said on Friday: "Let me be clear: The voters should pick a President, and that President should select a successor to Justice Ginsburg."

What did Obama say in 2016?

Obama stated plainly that the Constitution requires the Senate to consider Supreme Court nominees, declaring that no rule exists stating that such consideration may only happen in non-election years.

"When there is a vacancy on the Supreme Court, the president is to nominate someone, the Senate is to consider that nomination, and either they disapprove of that nominee or that nominee is elevated to the Supreme Court," Obama said in February 2016, just days after Scalia's death.

"Historically, this has not been viewed as a question," he continued. "There's no unwritten law that says that it can only be done on off-years. That's not in the constitutional text."

— Kelb Hull (@Kelb Hull)1600525773.0

But on Friday, Obama said: "Four and a half years ago, when Republicans refused to hold a hearing or an up-or-down vote on Merrick Garland, they invented the principle that the Senate shouldn't fill an open seat on the Supreme Court before a new president was sworn in. A basic principle of the law — and of everyday fairness — is that we apply rules with consistency, and not based on what's convenient or advantageous in the moment."

Potential Joe Biden blunder raises questions about possible teleprompter use

During an appearance on a late-night talk show, Joe Biden may have accidentally revealed that he uses a teleprompter.

The Democratic presidential nominee appeared on "The Late Late Show with James Corden" on April 21. During the virtual appearance from Biden's basement, an eagle-eyed viewer noticed an intriguing detail.

Biden displayed several framed photographs of his family. Biden shared a very large framed photo of himself with his two sons, Hunter and Beau, when they were in college. When the former vice president held up the frame to the camera, a reflection of what appears to be the text of a teleprompter shows up on the glass of the picture frame.

GOP Rapid response Director Steve Guest shared a screen capture of the video on Twitter with the caption: "That reflection…Joe Biden was using a teleprompter for an interview with James Corden." There appears to be green and blue text in the reflection.

TheBlaze reached out to the Biden campaign to verify if the former vice president used a teleprompter in his interview with James Corden. At the time of publication, the Biden campaign did not respond.

The viral video of a possible teleprompter comes only days after Biden campaign spokesman T.J. Ducklo refused to answer the question if Biden uses a teleprompter during TV interviews.

Fox News' Bret Baier asked Ducklo, "Has Joe Biden ever used a teleprompter during local interviews or to answer Q&A with supporters?"

Ducklo responded, "Bret, we're not gonna — this is straight from the Trump campaign talking points." Baier retorted, "Well, yeah, they're using it."

Ducklo replied, "What it does, Bret, is it's trying to distract the American people."

"They're using it. They talk about it every day," Baier asked Ducklo twice, "Can you say yes or no?"

"They talk about it every day because they don't have a coherent argument for why Donald Trump deserves reelection, deserves four more years," Ducklo said. "We know that he lied to the American people, we know that he has not shown leadership during this crisis and they are desperate to throw anything they can against the wall to try to distract from that fact."

"I'm not going to allow the Trump campaign to funnel their questions through Fox News and get me to respond to that," Ducklo said on Fox News' "Special Report."

— Kelb Hull (@Kelb Hull)1599778897.0

Last week, reporters were criticized for giving Biden easy softball questions during a rare press conference. President Donald Trump said the easy questions "were meant for a child."

"I look at that and I think it's a disgrace," Trump added. "And then I watch Biden getting asked questions that are really meant for a child to answer, anybody could answer. And I look at the level of question that you people ask. I mean honestly, it's disgraceful."

Biden spokesman flips out when asked if presidential nominee used teleprompter for interviews

The National Press Secretary for the campaign of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden flipped his lid on Thursday when he was asked whether his boss ever used a teleprompter during interviews with reporters.

Despite being asked several times, the spokesman never answered the question.

What are the details?

Fox News' Bret Baier asked Biden spokesman TJ Ducklo, "Has Joe Biden ever used a teleprompter during local interviews or to answer Q&A with reporters?"

"Bret, we're not gonna — this is straight from the Trump campaign talking points," Ducklo responded, leaving Baier to say, "Well yeah, they're using it."

Ducklo insisted, "What it does, Bret, is it's trying to distract the American people."

"They're using it. They talk about it every day," Baier said, pressing, "Can you say yes or no?"

The two engaged in a back-and-forth with Baier asking Ducklo multiple times to answer the question, before the anchor signed off with his guest.

Ducklo's refusal to answer the question raised eyebrows on social media.

Caleb Hull, senior editor at the Independent Journal Review noted, "TJ Ducklo refused to answer and instead had a meltdown. Disaster of an interview for the Biden campaign."

Bret Baier just asked Biden's National Press Sec a simple yes or no question:Has Joe Biden ever used a teleprompt… https://t.co/8xVuTsubXW
— Kelb Hull (@Kelb Hull)1599778897.0

Other reporters chimed in, too. The Hill's Joe Concha tweeted, "Biden spox asked by Bret Baier if Biden uses a teleprompter in interviews. Spokesman accuses Baier — one of the most respected journalists in the business — of pushing Trump talking points while refusing to answer yes or no. Attacking the messenger means you've lost the argument."

But the teleprompter question was not the only contentious part of the Baier's interview with Ducklo.

Newsbusters editor Curtis Houck shared a clip from earlier in the interview when Biden's spokesman lost his cool and failed to answer the Fox News host's question about what the Democrat would have done differently than President Donald Trump in handling COVID-19.

Instead of answering, Ducklo insisted Biden was not against Trump's travel ban.

"Let me just clarify," Baier said. "You're saying Joe Biden was for closing down travel from China when the president did it?"

The Biden for President spokesman then attacked Fox News, saying, "I know you all like to cite the travel ban."

"No, no, no, the president does," Baier responded, explaining, "That's why I'm bringing it up. Obviously it's going to be in the debate."

Ducklo also refused to answer that question directly but offered to send Baier "fact checks" saying "this has been fact-checked into oblivion."

Josh Holmes, the former chief of staff and campaign manager for Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell wrote on Twitter after the interview, "TJ Ducklo is likely not going on television again. Yikes."

Reporter asks press secretary why it's OK for the president to have thousands of people at his outdoor rallies. She explains: These are 'peaceful protests.'

In the wake of President Donald Trump holding another outdoor campaign rally where many attendees did not wear face masks, the media wanted to know why the White House believes such rallies are OK when states have said they are not allowed.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany used the left's own "peaceful protests" canard to clearly explain that the president was not doing anything his political opponents were not already doing.

What did she say?

President Trump has been holding — and has scheduled several more — outdoor campaign events with thousands of attendees. On multiple occasions, large portions of the audience have been seen not social distancing and often not wearing masks. This, of course, has been a source of ire and criticism from members of the media who are positioning themselves as people who are very concerned that the campaign is allowing such seemingly reckless behavior.

For example, after Trump's Aug. 27 RNC speech at the White House, CNN repeatedly characterized the convention session as a "possible super-spreader event."

And following President Trump's campaign rally in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Tuesday, the media were aghast that the president would hold an event with so many people who might be putting their health at risk in a state where public gatherings are supposed to be capped at 50 people.

During the White House press briefing Wednesday afternoon, a reporter demanded to know why the president insisted on holding outdoor rallies with thousands of attendees when governors have declared a ban on such gatherings.

"Why did the president have thousands of people, many not wearing masks, at a rally last night in a state that has limited outdoor gatherings to 50 people? Why is he going to Nevada this weekend to hold similar outdoor rallies?" the reporter asked, noting that the events are "in violation of his administration's own guidance and of the best advice and guidance of local officials who he has said should have final say in these matters"

McEnany was ready for the question and made it clear the president believes that if the rally sauce is good for the liberal "peaceful protest" goose then it is good for the GOP campaign gander.

"People have a First Amendment right, if they so choose, to show up and express their political opinion in the form of a peaceful protest, which is what the president held," she explained.

Then she called out the media's double standard when it comes to their treatment of BLM protests versus Trump rallies.

"There's a real double standard here, CNN had on a guest, apparently a doctor, Rob Davidson, who said, 'Now, true, there are social distancing issues' with regard to the protests we've seen around the country, 'however, this is a public health crisis — they are marching against systemic racism,'" McEnany revealed, citing an interview Davison gave Anderson Cooper on Aug. 28.

"So if you're allowed to march in aggregate in those protests, you are also allowed to show up at a political rally," she concluded. "You have a First Amendment right in this country."

VIDEO: Man bashed in back of head with bricks, falls face-first to sidewalk. Observers recording sneak attack laugh and howl.

Baltimore police on Monday afternoon told TheBlaze they have not yet located the victim or suspect in a shocking daylight attack caught on video.

What are the details?

Video emerged Monday on social media showing a man crossing a street and another man sneaking up behind him and slamming him in the back of the head, which resulted in the victim falling face-first to the sidewalk.

Just before the victim was hit in the head, a voice — presumably from one of the people recording the video across the street — can be heard whispering, "bitch you bet' not run." After the victim falls to the sidewalk, at least two people can be heard laughing and hollering in response.

Here's the clip:

— Kelb Hull (@Kelb Hull)1598884716.0

One person yelled something to the effect of, "Oh my God, he's done!"

The victim appeared to lay motionless on the sidewalk while the man who hit him ran off.

What did police have to say?

According to a police report, the attack took place just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday on the 100 block of West Hamburg Street — and neither the victim nor the suspect were at the scene when police arrived. Officers, however, said they observed a pool of blood on the north sidewalk.

The witness who called police said he heard a loud argument between two men. After one of the men walked away, the witness said the other man picked up two bricks, approached the other man from behind, and hit him on the head. After the attack, the suspect ran from the scene toward the Sharp Leadenhall Apartments. The witness told police he doesn't know the victim or the suspect. Police said the victim is white and the suspect is black.

Anything else?

The video apparently was posted on Instagram and soon deleted. It isn't clear whether the Instagram user who posted the video also recorded it or knows either of the men involved in the incident.

Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire noted the original Instagram caption:

How are folks reacting?

As you can no doubt guess, those who have viewed the clip have been uniformly shocked and appalled by it:

  • "Buy more guns. Defend yourself. No one is going to do it for you," one commenter wrote.
  • "This is disgusting," another commenter said. "These animals need to be found, prosecuted and put away for a long time. Why do that to any living being?"
  • "The laughter after it happens is chilling," another person observed.
  • "The number of these type of ambushes is horrifying! So what do we do now, just film this s**t, post online, and do nothing? I've haven't seen/heard anything about this man's condition or if anyone helped him," another commenter wrote. "If this is the New America so many are calling for, we're doomed."
