Two beloved Hollywood classics about to get woke remakes
Hollywood has been spiraling downward into progressivism for some time now, but despite repeatedly losing millions of dollars and alienating audiences left and right, it looks like the film industry has no intention to deboard the woke bandwagon.
Dave Rubin shares the disheartening news that two beloved classic films will be getting woke remakes in the near future.
“They are remaking ‘The Wizard of Oz’ to be a non-white ‘Wizard of Oz,”’ he sighs, claiming the original film is “perfection” and “should never be touched.”
The other classic due for a remake is “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
The filmmaker responsible for these revamps is Kenya Barris, best known as the creator of ABC’s popular sitcom “Black-ish.”
Dave plays a clip of Barris explaining to Variety his plans for diverse and LGBTQ inclusive remakes of “The Wizard of Oz” and “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
“The original ‘Wizard of Oz’ took place during the Great Depression, and it was about self-reliance,” Barris explained, but “I think this is a perfect time to sort of switch the characters and talk about what someone imagines their life could be.”
“It’s a Wonderful Life” is about “a guy who's trying to help out his community … and I think that's a perfect story to tell for a person of color, black or brown,” Barris continued.
“Nobody needs to remake these things. If you think ‘The Wizard of Oz’ wasn't gay enough … you are so gay you should be studied by scientists,” laughs Dave.
But in all seriousness, “what DEI leads to is an endless decline in everything,” meaning “our movies will not be as good.”
“They’ve destroyed everything in Hollywood.”
