'It’s honestly sad': Kevin Hart responds to Katt Williams' claim he's a Hollywood 'plant'

Comedian and actor Kevin Hart responded to a litany of charges lobbed at him by Katt Williams on a recent podcast.

Williams went viral for his appearance on "Club Shay Shay," the podcast of former NFL player Shannon Sharpe.

The Ohio comedian made accusatory remarks about a number of high-profile comics such as Hart, Cedric the Entertainer, Steve Harvey, and Chris Tucker.

Williams implied that rapper P. Diddy wanted to have sex with him on multiple occasions as well and that rapper/actor Ludacris was offered $200 million by the "illuminati."

"In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of going to a sold-out Kevin Hart show, there being a line for him, ever getting a standing ovation at any comedy club," Williams told Sharpe.

"For a five-year period, every single movie that Kevin Hart did was a movie that had been on my desk that all I had said was just, 'Can we take some of this Stepin Fetchit s*** out and then I can do it,'" Williams said. Fetchit was a reference to a 1930s actor who found fame for being "the laziest man in the world."

"Like it don't need to be overtly homosexual 'cause I'm not homosexual, right? It doesn't need that to be funny, right?" he continued. Williams then claimed that after he made suggestions for the movies the studios would give the role to Hart because he wouldn't request any changes.

"Me saying that and them going, 'Oh yeah, no problem,' and then going to give it to this other guy and having him do it just like it was and acting like I'm a bad person because I keep standing on my standard."

The morning following the podcast's release, Hart took to his X account to respond. The comedian made a short remark before promoting a new movie.

"Gotta get that anger up outcha champ….It’s honestly sad. In the meantime…. Please enjoy MY MOVIE TRAILER," he wrote with an attached video.

This isn't the first time the two comedians exchanged words without speaking in person.

In 2018, while on a media tour, Hart claimed that Williams failed to capitalize on his chance to reach stardom.

"You had the shot. You were the guy. You were set up to be the star. You didn't show up to work. You f***ed off promo shoots. You f***ed off your promo trips they set up for you. You became a risk to the studios," Hart said, as reported by Business Insider.

Williams denied the claim that studios have had any issues with him on Sharpe's podcast.

In 2016, Williams challenged Hart to a series of challenges in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the tune of $5 million.

"A full-court basketball court, a boxing ring, two microphones for a rap cypher, or you can get your ass dusted in comedy on that stage," Williams said from a tarmac. "But it's $1 million up for each one, that's $5 million mister '$28 million in Forbes.' I'll be bringing mine in cash."

Kevin Hart issues a fiery response to critics of his rant against cancel culture

Comedian Kevin Hart had a fiery response on Tuesday to the critics of his rant against cancel culture.

Hart took to his Twitter account in response to some on social media who said that he was angry about cancel culture because he wasn't funny enough.

"I got time today," he began.

"I have 3 stand up comedy specials that fall in the top 10 highest grossing comedy specials of all time....2 of my specials are in the top 3 of all time," Hart tweeted.

"I have been the highest grossing comedian in entertainment for years now....I have also been the highest grossing comedian in the box office with over 4 billion in earnings," he continued.

"I have also turned my comedic talent into a place of business and branding and radio and other revenue streams," Hart explained.

"The hate/slander fuels me to do more," he said.

"I rarely talk s***," Hart added, "but I felt the need to today."

He concluded with a quote mocking his detractors.

Hart had originally derided cancel culture in a long detailed rant on an interview with the Sunday Times.

"When did we get to a point where life was supposed to be perfect? Where people were supposed to operate perfectly all the time? I don't understand. I don't expect perfection from my kids. I don't expect it from my wife, friends, employees," said Hart.

"They're saying that all life should be over because of a mistake?" he said elsewhere in the interview. "Your life should end and there should be no opportunity to change? What are you talking about?" he asked. "And who are you to make that decision?"

The popular comedian is starring in a movie entitled "Fatherhood" to be released on Netflix on June 18.
