Why did Biden fly Laken Riley's murderer to Georgia?

Laken Riley was only 22 years old when she was brutally murdered by an illegal immigrant from Venezuela.

The nursing student had innocently gone for a jog on the University of Georgia campus in Athens, Georgia, where 26-year-old Jose Ibarra then decided to take her life.

Ibarra was found guilty on all counts Wednesday morning in the fast-moving trial.

The prosecutor explained to the jury that the immigrant had been walking around different apartment complexes essentially hunting for a woman to rape, when he saw Laken Riley jogging by herself on a Sunday morning.

“She fought so hard for her life, she fought so hard for her dignity, she was almost completely unclothed,” Allie Beth Stuckey of “Relatable” comments after listening to the prosecutor's opening statement.

“Because of how hard she fought, she wasn’t completely exposed, but when the police officer found her laying there with her skull crushed in by the rock that Ibarra allegedly picked up and hit her with, at least half of her body was completely naked because he tried and failed, thank the Lord, to rape her before murdering her,” Stuckey says.

Riley was reportedly wearing a smartwatch at the time, which revealed that her heart rate had spiked during the 17-minute attack.

Her attacker has been confirmed to be a member of Tren de Aragua, a dangerous Venezuelan gang that has infiltrated and plagued parts of America with extreme violence.

He had also been arrested by the NYPD a year after he entered the United States in August 2023, but not because he was here illegally. Rather, Ibarra was arrested because he committed the crime of acting in a manner to injure a child and had a motor vehicle license violation.

Now, it’s been revealed that Ibarra, along with other illegal immigrants, was granted a free humanitarian flight from New York to Georgia.

“So he was the beneficiary of Biden’s catch-and-release policy at the border. So he was detained when he tried to cross illegally in 2022, and then he was released into the interior of the United States per Biden’s policies, and then he was the beneficiary of a catch-and-release policy because of progressive soft-on-crime policies in New York,” Stuckey comments.

“And not only that, but he was actually given the gift, as a reward for the crimes that he had committed, he was given the gift of a free, taxpayer-funded flight from New York to Georgia, where he eventually killed Laken Riley,” she adds, disgusted.

Appalling: Biden APOLOGIZES for calling Laken Riley's alleged murderer 'illegal'

While President Biden called the 22-year-old student who was murdered on the University of Georgia campus “Lincoln” instead of Laken, he correctly called her murderer an illegal immigrant.

But he’s not apologizing for calling her the wrong name. Instead, he’s apologizing to the illegal immigrant who murdered her for calling him “an illegal.”

“I shouldn’t have used ‘illegal;’ it’s ‘undocumented,’” Biden said in an interview on MSNBC.

“When I spoke about the difference between Trump and me,” he continued, “one of the things I talked about in the border was that the way he talks about ‘vermin,’ the way he talks about these people ‘polluting the blood’ — I talked about what I’m not going to do, what I won’t do, I’m not going to treat any of these people with disrespect.”

When asked whether he regretted using the word “illegal,” Biden answered with a resounding “yes.”

“Obviously, in reality, no one cares about whether or not he said it was ‘illegal,’ the fact that he didn’t know the name was a bigger situation,” Stu Burguiere tells Glenn Beck.

Glenn agrees.

“He’s apologizing that he used the word ‘illegal’ for somebody who is here illegally, and didn’t apologize for his role in allowing this guy to be here,” Glenn says.

“There’s absolutely no reason to import people who are criminals into this country so they can do crime,” he continues, “and you, Mr. President, you, Mayorkas, and everybody else involved who has been pushing these policies — their blood is on your hands.”

“And there’s a lot of blood on your hands,” he adds.

Flashback: Biden in 2006 tells MSNBC's Chris Matthews 'illegal aliens' must 'learn to speak English,' 'earn their way' in

Last week, Democrats spent quite a bit of energy criticizing President Joe Biden for daring — amid his State of the Union address — to characterize Laken Riley's suspected murderer as an "illegal."

You know, as opposed to being outraged over the murder itself — and for policies that allowed the suspect to roam across the U.S. border in the first place.

Biden, of course, dutifully walked back his "illegal" characterization during an interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart over the weekend: "I shouldn’t have used 'illegal.' It’s 'undocumented.'" When Capehart asked Biden if he regretted using the "illegal" term, Biden replied, "Yes."

It wasn't always that way.

Let's flash back to another MSNBC clip that's been making the rounds on social media since left-wing undergarments got in a twist over Biden's ghastly "illegal" utterance.

It's a 2006 video of then-U.S. Sen. Biden telling MSNBC's Chris Matthews that "illegal aliens" need to "learn to speak English," among other requirements for getting to reside in the U.S.

In the clip, Matthews kicks things off with — count 'em — three "illegal" references in one question as he asks Biden if there's "a Democratic Party position which accommodates the need to stop illegal entry, punish people who hire people with cheap wages illegally, and also gives hope to people who live here illegally and people who want to come here right now?"

After some back and forth, Matthews asks Biden if you can "scare an employer in this country, whether he's an agricultural worker or a housewife, into not hiring an illegal because the punishment's so high that if you get caught, it's a huge embarrassment to your family, and you may just ... get hit with a fine that'll kill you?"

Biden replies, "Absolutely you can, and that's what we should do. I think we should do that."

From there, Biden remarks that Democrats understand that "illegal aliens ... have to have a way to earn their way into the deal. This isn't amnesty." He also says that "they pay a fine, they gotta learn to speak English, they gotta pass tests."

Matthews chimes in on the importance of encouraging illegal immigrants to learn English, even adding that "English is gonna unite this country potentially. It always has in the past."

Biden then observes that "I can't think of a country that has two languages as their accepted languages that is doing all that well, including Switzerland and/or Canada."

Matthews says that having multiple languages in the U.S. "divides us. You can't talk to each other."

Oh, how times have changed. Check it out:

Biden apologizes for calling Laken Riley's suspected killer an 'illegal immigrant,' Trump 'profoundly honored' to meet slain student's family

President Joe Biden apologized for describing the suspected killer of Laken Hope Riley as an "illegal immigrant." Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump met the family of the slain nursing student before a rally in Georgia.

During his State of the Union address, the president was confronted by Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-Ga.), who yelled at Biden, "Say her name!"

The 81-year-old president flubbed Riley's name, which angered Laken's mother and she called him "pathetic."

Biden said during the SOTU speech, "Lincoln — Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal."

As Blaze News previously reported, several Democrats were incensed that Biden called Riley's suspected killer an "illegal immigrant." This is despite the murder suspect, Jose Antonio Ibarra, being a Venezuelan nation who crossed into the United States illegally in September 2022.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) declared, "He should have said 'undocumented.'"

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) lectured the president, "Let me be clear: No human being is illegal."

Biden walked back his "illegal immigrant" remark in an MSNBC interview that aired on Saturday night.

MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart asked Biden about calling the suspected murderer of Riley an illegal immigrant.

Biden replied, "An undocumented person. And I shouldn’t have used 'illegal.' It’s 'undocumented.'"

Capehart asked Biden if he regretted using the illegal immigrant term, and he replied, "Yes."

Biden quickly switched gears by pointing fingers at Trump.

Biden said of Trump, "He talks about 'vermin.' The way he talks about these people 'polluting the blood.' I talked about what I’m not going to do. What I won’t do, I’m not going to treat any of these people with disrespect."

"Look, they built the country," Biden proclaimed.

Prior to a rally in Georgia on Saturday night, Trump said he was "profoundly honored to meet with Riley's family and friends backstage.

"I met her beautiful mother and family backstage," Trump told the crowd at the rally in Rome. "They said she was like the best. She was always the best to us. They admit that she was the best, and she was the first in her class. She was going to be the best nurse. She was the best nursing student. She was always the best. She was the brightest light in every room, they told me."

Trump continued, "She was the whole world to her parents and to her sister and just to the whole family."

Trump also bashed Biden for apologizing for calling the slain student's alleged killer an illegal immigrant, which elicited a chorus of boos from the crowd.

"I say he was an illegal alien. He was an illegal immigrant. He was an illegal migrant," Trump declared. "And he shouldn't have been in our country, and he never would have been under the Trump policies."

"And Biden should be apologizing for apologizing to this killer," Trump stated.

Trump blamed Biden for having "no intention of stopping the deadly invasion that stole precious Laken's American life."

Trump said of Democrats refusal to say the term illegal immigrants, "They have a new name that's even worse. They have a new name. You know what the new name is? Neighbor. They want to call them neighbor. They want to call them another name – newcomer. A newcomer to our country. Are we going crazy, or what?"

Laken Riley's mother gives first comment since daughter's murder, thanks Jesus for guiding her through 'worst nightmare'

The mother of Laken Hope Riley delivered her first public comments since the tragic death of her 22-year-old daughter.

The funeral for Riley was held on Friday at the Woodstock City Church in Woodstock, Georgia.

Lead Pastor Samer Massad recalled how Riley was a "gift to anyone who knew her."

"Laken was special. She was a gift to anyone who knew her,” Massad told the mourners, according to WXIA-TV.

"She had a gift for making anyone she was around feel comfortable and seen,” the pastor continued. "But the most special thing about Laken was her faith in Jesus. She didn’t just believe it, she lived it. And because of her faith, as hard as days like today are, we grieve her loss and celebrate her life with the hope that she is now in the presence of Jesus, her Savior. We will miss her dearly.”

Riley's mother, Allyson Phillips, shared her first public comment about her daughter's death on Saturday.

"As I sat down to write this message, I really just have no words," Phillips wrote in a Facebook post. "My family has faced the most devastating, unimaginable loss that anyone could ever be force to endure."

Phillips highlighted her faith in enduring the heartbreaking tragedy.

"I would like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for being with me and my family during this heartbreaking time," the distraught mother explained. "I encourage everyone to have a personal relationship with Jesus. I give Him all the glory for getting us through this. It would be really easy to lose our faith in mankind because of this senseless and avoidable tragedy."

Phillips thanked those for their "overwhelming" support during this "horrific nightmare."

"Please know that every act of kindness has warmed our hearts and brought us joy during our worst nightmare," she continued. "We appreciate all of the time, effort and prayers that our family, friends and community have showered us with to help ease our pain. We love you all and hope that you feel from the bottom of our hearts how much every single thing that has been done for us has meant. I love you all. Please continue to pray for our family as we put one foot in front of the other moving forward."

The family of the slain woman launched the Laken Riley Memorial fundraiser on GoFundMe.

The crowdfunding campaign initially had a goal of raising $35,000 to "assist the family with funeral expenses, establish a scholarship in her name, raise homicide awareness, or any other opportunity the family could use it for during this difficult time."

An update on the crowdfunding page noted, "On behalf of our entire family we would like send out a heartfelt thank you for your donations and overwhelming support."

"She will be missed every day, but we promise to honor her life moving forward in a very big way," the update read. "Every single dollar donated will go towards starting the Laken Hope Riley Foundation and will be used to drive homicide awareness and safety for women. Again, thank you for your kind support and we love you all!"

At the time of publication, the GoFundMe campaign had raised more than $230,000.

Republican introduces 'Laken Riley Act' to force ICE to retain illegal aliens for theft, says tragic murder is a 'wakeup call'

In response to the brutal murder of Laken Hope Riley, a Republican lawmaker has introduced legislation that would require the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to detain any illegal immigrants charged with theft or burglary.

Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) introduced the Laken Riley Act on Friday, which would "require the Secretary of Homeland Security to take into custody aliens who have been charged in the United States with theft, and for other purposes."

The bill is dedicated to Laken Riley, the 22-year-old college nursing student who was recently murdered on the campus of the University of Georgia. Riley died from blunt force trauma.

The suspect in the horrific slaying is 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra — an illegal immigrant from Venezuela. He has been charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call, and concealing Riley’s death.

ICE has confirmed that Ibarra entered the U.S. illegally in 2022 near El Paso, Texas. He was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Sept. 8, 2022, after illegally crossing the U.S. southern border.

The Venezuelan national was released by U.S. border officials pending a review of his immigration case, according to ICE.

In August 2023, Ibarra was reportedly arrested by New York Police Department officers and charged with acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation.

The New York Post reported, "Ibarra, 26, was working for DoorDash, Uber Eats, and a local restaurant when he was arrested in August for endangering the welfare of a child, after he was caught in Queens riding a gas-powered moped with Franco’s son on the back, without any head protection or restraint for the child, according to police sources."

However, the NYPD said it has no record of Ibarra's reported arrest.

Collins told Fox News, "The senseless murder of Laken Riley by Jose Ibarra, who had no business being in this country, was another wakeup call as Americans experience an illegal alien crime wave because of Joe Biden's open border and local sanctuary city policies."

"I wish we could bring Laken back, but we must now turn our focus to ensuring this doesn't happen to another American," Collins added. "That's why I introduced the Laken Riley Act."

The funeral for Riley was held on Friday.

'You're fired!' Angry residents confront Democrat mayor for defending immigration policies after Laken Riley murder

Angry residents voiced their frustration on Wednesday with Athens-Clarke County Mayor Kelly Girtz (D) for downplaying a connection between immigration chaos and the heinous murder of Laken Riley.

At a press conference, Girtz defended Athens from critics who have described it as a so-called "sanctuary city." Girtz claimed that's not true despite the city passing a resolution in 2019 welcoming all people, including immigrants living in the U.S. illegally, to Athens — essentially making the city a de facto sanctuary city.

Girtz's defensive posture drew angry outbursts from residents at the press conference.

"Liar!" multiple residents yelled.

Other residents suggested that Girtz's denials were insulting their intelligence, while others demanded his resignation. Residents also claimed that Girtz shared responsibility for Riley's death and even shouted at him, "You're fired!"'

At one point, Girtz warned people "against conflating immigration and crime." That assertion led to more outbursts from angry residents.

A media member later asked Girtz about the 2019 resolution, and the mayor justified it by invoking Donald Trump.

"I want to say that we center our work here in Athens-Clarke County on people’s humanity, and part of everybody’s humanity is the expectation of human dignity. While 2019 was not that long ago, you might remember the dynamic we were living in in the late teens in this country, where you had the president of the United States speak in the most vile terms about people who were foreign-born, and you had that notion metastasizing —" Girtz said when angry residents shouted over him.

"Oh, please stop it! This is an invasion!" one man screamed. "You are lawless, mayor!"

At every turn in the presser, Girtz defended the resolution and argued it was necessary because the political environment at the time was fomenting a culture of white supremacy and xenophobia.

To the point that Athens is a de facto sanctuary city, one reporter asked Girtz how he can justify the fact that numerous undocumented immigrants lived in the same apartment as Jose Ibarra, the Venezuelan immigrant charged with Riley's murder.

"We are deeply sorry for this tragedy. Responsibility for this crime rests solely on the perpetrator," Girtz responded.

White House finally releases statement on Laken Riley's brutal murder — but it only makes things worse: 'Sad and pathetic'

The White House was slammed on Monday for releasing a woefully inadequate statement about the shocking murder of Laken Riley.

Police have charged Jose Ibarra, a 26-year-old Venezuelan immigrant living in the U.S. illegally, for murdering Riley, a 22-year-old Georgia college student, on the University of Georgia campus last week.

Court documents allege that Ibarra didn't simply kill Riley. Rather, police accuse him of "disfiguring her skull."

The heinous crime has brought increased attention to the border crisis and President Joe Biden's immigration policies, and the administration's response to Riley's murder isn't helping.

On Monday, a White House spokesperson released the following statement:

We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Laken Hope Riley. People should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law if they are found to be guilty. Given this is an active case, we would have to refer you to state law enforcement and ICE.

The lackluster statement — which doesn't, in fact, include any word from President Biden himself — was quickly slammed.

  • "No statement from Biden? Just a few cold words from a press aide. Pathetic," Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) said.
  • '"People should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law if they are found to be guilty.' Really? The White House refused to hold this illegal alien accountable for crossing our border illegally in 2022," Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) said.
  • "I've heard NO APOLOGIES or remorse from @TheDemocrats about their open border policies leading to another murdered American," Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) said in response.
  • "Tragic and preventable. Joe Biden took 94 executive actions in his first 100 days to expose our southern border. 3 years later, Biden still refuses to take accountability for creating the worst border catastrophe in American history. His failure is having deadly consequences," Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) responded.
  • "Once again, Biden refuses to take accountability for creating the worst border disaster in American history. What a sad and pathetic statement given his administration's actions have allowed this to take place. @POTUS stop the invasion, shut down the border," Rep. Eric Burlison (R-Mo.) said.
  • "Mr. President, instead of making excuses for her murder, and defending policies that weaken our immigration laws, we must ensure justice for Laken by first securing our border," Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) said.
  • "I see they left out the part that her murder was a result of leftist sanctuary city policies and the open border," Jeremy Redfern, press secretary for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), pointed out.
  • "If only the White House showed similar deference to ICE on actually enforcing our laws, then Laken Riley may still be alive. There were thousands of detention beds available to detain and remove Laken’s killer when he entered illegally," the National Immigration Center for Enforcement said.

As Blaze News reported, Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed that Ibarra entered the U.S. illegally in September 2022.

About a year later, Ibarra was arrested in New York City for "acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation." But he was "released by the NYPD before a detainer could be issued," ICE said. Ibarra then moved to Georgia sometime last fall.

ICE confirms alarming details about the immigrant charged with murdering Georgia college student: 'Released by the NYPD'

Immigration and Customs Enforcement confirmed on Sunday that the immigrant arrested for allegedly murdering a Georgia college student was arrested — then quickly released — in New York City last fall.

On Friday, police arrested Jose Ibarra, a 26-year-old Venezuelan immigrant, and charged him with murdering 22-year-old Laken Riley, a nursing student at Augusta University. Riley was attacked Thursday while she was running on the University of Georgia's campus in Athens. Police do not believe Ibarra knew Riley; rather, they believe the attack was a "crime of opportunity."

The shocking incident has ignited nationwide outrage and questions about whether it could have been prevented.

Now we know that Ibarra was no stranger to law enforcement or immigration officials.

In a statement, ICE confirmed that U.S. Customs and Border Protection first arrested Ibarra on Sept. 8, 2022, after he illegally entered the U.S. near El Paso. But he "was paroled and released for further processing."

One year later on Sept. 14, 2023, police in New York City arrested Ibarra and charged him with "acting in a manner to injure a child less than 17 and a motor vehicle license violation." Despite the nature of the charges, New York City — a "sanctuary city" — quickly released Ibarra back onto the streets.

"He was released by the NYPD before a detainer could be issued," ICE said.

Eventually, ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Atlanta was able to lodge a detainer for Ibarra — but only after his arrest for Riley's murder.

Police have charged Ibarra with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call, and concealing the death of another.

The atrocious incident, meanwhile, is drawing more attention to the border crisis and President Joe Biden's failures to address the problem.

When police were searching for Ibarra, they located his brother, Diego Ibarra, who allegedly presented authorities with a fake green card. He was then arrested. It turns out that Diego Ibarra, who entered the U.S. after his brother, has already been arrested multiple times in the U.S., including for driving under the influence, shoplifting, and failing to appear in court, WSB-TV reported.

"Every state is now a border state because of Joe Biden's inaction," Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R) said.
