Female who allegedly stole casket from funeral home and dumped human remains says she blacked out after drinking 6 beers

Nevada police said a 47-year-old female was arrested for allegedly dumping human remains in front of a funeral home after breaking in and stealing a casket late last month.

Documents obtained by KLAS-TV said Las Vegas police were alerted to the presence of a body lying facedown in front of the Affordable Cremation and Burial Service funeral home on Charleston Boulevard around 3 a.m. Aug. 27.

She claimed that she didn't remember the incident due to substance abuse issues, and she blacked out after drinking six beers.

When they investigated, police said the body belonged to a recently deceased woman in her sixties.

Surveillance video from inside the business showed a woman broke in and stole a casket — and a body was inside it. A door to the funeral home was open, KLAS reported, and there was broken glass inside. The woman allegedly dumped the body outside the funeral home on landscaping rocks.

Two days later, a person at a convenience store on Valley View Boulevard recognized the suspect and called authorities.

Police identified the suspect as Patricia Sierra.

When they questioned Sierra, police said she was apologetic and claimed she was not "trying to be malicious." She reportedly admitted to being the person in the surveillance video, but she claimed that she didn't remember the incident due to substance abuse issues, and she blacked out after drinking six beers.

Sierra was charged with grand larceny, burglary of a business, and removing, transforming, or disturbing human remains; her bail was set at $11,000. According to jail records, Sierra is scheduled for a Sept. 18 preliminary hearing.

Photos of the funeral home were published as part of a KLAS video report on YouTube.

Teens who beat Las Vegas boy to death avoid adult prison, mom slams plea deal: 'They’re letting them get away with murder'

Four teenagers facing murder charges over the fatal beating of a Las Vegas boy outside his high school last November have reached a plea deal with prosecutors that has enabled them to avoid serving time in adult prison. The mother of the victim of the deadly beating is outraged over the plea deal.

Dontral Beaver, 16; Treavion Randolph, 16; Gianni Robinson, 17; and Damien Hernandez, 18; all agreed on Thursday to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis Jr., according to KLAS-TV.

'There is no justice for my son Jonathan Lewis that was stomped to death and murdered while 20 people stood there and did nothing more than film it and broadcast it to social media.'

The plea deal will allow all four teens to no longer face murder charges as adults, and they will be sentenced in juvenile court. The plea deal would mean the teens would avoid being locked up in an adult prison.

All of the teens were under the age of 18 when the alleged crime was committed and were formally charged with second-degree murder in January.

Five other teens were also charged in the case with four of them having already pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the juvenile court system. One teen is yet to be sentenced.

The victim's mother said she was blindsided by the plea deal and claimed that she was not notified of the hearing held on Thursday.

“I was told that they were going to plea guilty to murder and that the most they would get in the adult system is two years,” Mellisa Ready told KLAS-TV.

“I would’ve disagreed with the deal entirely. They should be accountable as adults — they made an adult choice,” Ready continued. “They knew that when they were stomping on my child’s head that he was going to die as a result. You cannot jump in a human being’s head, stomp on him, and think that they’re going to remain alive after.”

Ready declared, “They knew he was going to die, and that’s how I feel — and they’re letting them get away with murder.”

The distraught mother added, “There is no justice for my son Jonathan Lewis that was stomped to death and murdered while 20 people stood there and did nothing more than film it and broadcast it to social media.”

Robert Draskovich — the attorney for Gianni Robinson — told KLAS-TV, “We were able to evaluate all the evidence as a whole and reach this mutually beneficial negotiation. Obviously, what occurred is a tragedy, but convicting these young men of murder would be a second tragedy, following the first.”

As Blaze News previously reported, Lewis was brutally mauled by a group of teens outside Rancho High School in Las Vegas on Nov. 1, 2023. Video of the vicious attack was uploaded to social media and shows a mob of teens kicking, stomping, and punching Lewis.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers responded to a battery call and found Lewis battered and bleeding from the head. The teen was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Six days later, he was medically declared brain dead. The teen died after succumbing to his significant injuries. His cause of death was declared to be blunt force trauma, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Las Vegas Metro Police Lt. Jason Johansson previously said investigators suspect that the fight stemmed from a pair of wireless headphones and "possibly" a vape pen being stolen from Lewis or his friend.

At the time of the assault, Johansson described the fatal attack as being "very void of humanity."

Las Vegas man caught sexually assaulting woman inside shed was stopped by group of men and then stabbed to death, police say

A woman says she was sexually assaulted by a man at a shed before a group of men responded to her screams and the man was stabbed was death, according to Nevada police.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said officers are still investigating the lethal incident reported near a shopping mall on Tuesday.

'You see people fighting and doing drugs; it's a dangerous area.'

A man in his 50s was found stabbed to death in an alley near Laurel Avenue off of Charleston Boulevard at about 3:30 p.m.

Police say that a woman in her 30s told them that she was being sexually assaulted by the man in the shed on a dirt lot when a group of males came to her aid.

During the ensuing altercation, the man was stabbed and was pronounced dead after being transported to the University Medical Center.

All of the men involved fled from the scene, and police say they are trying to identify them in order to figure out exactly what happened.

"The males that came to the female's aid, we do not know who they are at this time," said Lt. Jason Johansson. "They left prior to our arrival. We're taking steps right now to identify who they are so we can interview them and ascertain everything that occurred."

'We all went in there and got him.'

One witness told KSNV-TV that there were seven people who rushed to help the woman. He said he was not the man who stabbed the assailant.

"He held her against her own will, and so that's when we proceeded to try to force the guy out of that little shack, which he didn't want to come out," said the man who didn't want to be publicly identified. "But we all went in there and got him."

He said that he didn't even know the man had been stabbed after the incident because everyone left the scene.

"I thought it was my job yesterday to defend that lady and make sure that nobody like this is on the streets no more," the man added. "I didn't know that the guy was gonna die, but it happened, you know?"

Police are also reviewing surveillance video of the incident.

'Everything was done with good intentions.'

Anabel Garcia, owner of Belleza Beauty Salon, said she was shocked by the incident.

"I am scared because that is very disturbing," Garcia told KTNV-TV. "It truly surprises me because it was in broad daylight."

Erick Moreno works at a nearby cellphone store and says there is constant crime in the area.

"You see people fighting and doing drugs; it's a dangerous area," he said. "We need better protection in the area."

"Everything was done with good intentions," said Amairani Rangel, who works at a smoke shop, to KSNV. "It's sad that someone had to pass away."

Stepmom pimp faces 18 years in prison for failing to stop wannabe rapper husband from torturing 6 kids, locking them in dog cages

A Las Vegas stepmother faces up to 18 years in prison for failing to stop her husband from torturing six children – who were locked away in dog cages.

Amanda Stamper, 33, was previously indicted on seven counts of felony child abuse and neglect by a grand jury in Clark County. In December, Stamper pleaded guilty to three felony counts of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment.

On Thursday, Clark County District Court Judge Nadia Krall sentenced Stamper to serve between seven and 18 years in prison for failing to protect children from horrific abuse.

Before being sentenced, Stamper told the courtroom, "I'm embarrassed to be here. I know I should have done something sooner. I do take full responsibility for it. I was not in the best situation either, and I was scared."

Stamper was a sex worker and worked as a pimp for her 32-year-old husband, Travis Doss. Police said Stamper failed to prevent her wannabe rapper husband, known as "Trap Montana, from brutally abusing the children – ages 2 to 11.

Authorities said Stamper only blew the whistle on the appalling child abuse after she learned that her husband had been cheating on her.

Stamper only contacted authorities after she reportedly sent Doss nearly 100 text messages that went unanswered by her husband.

Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Dena Rinetti noted that it was evident that it "was all about her and it was never about children."

"Every single day the defendant failed to protect her six stepchildren," Rinetti added. "Her actions and her inactions will affect these children for the rest of their lives."

Rinetti said Doss locked up one of the children in a dog cage for five days while starving him. The child was reportedly severely malnourished.

As Blaze News previously reported, police bodycam video exposed the ghastly conditions that the kids were subjected to.

The police bodycam footage from June 2023 showed two children locked in dog cages as the other minors were left alone inside a one-bedroom motel unit. KLAS-TV reported that many of the children were covered in bruises and extremely malnourished.

Doss even texted a photo of one of the children appearing to be dead and told Stamper that he had killed the boy. The child turned out to be alive.

Stamper claimed she was a victim of her husband and was terrified to report the child abuse.

Rinetti argued that if Stamper truly felt that she was in danger, she had access to a vehicle and opportunities to leave the home and call police or Child Protective Services.

The grand jury indicted Doss on 38 felony counts of child abuse, two counts of first-degree kidnapping, one count of sex trafficking, and one count of living off of the earnings of a prostitute. Stamper is the alleged victim of the sex trafficking accusations.

At the time of his arrest, Doss had an active warrant for aggravated assault committed in South Carolina, according to North Myrtle Beach Police.

Doss is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 29.

At the time of their arrests, Stamper and Doss had one child together. Stamper reportedly gave birth to another child in December.

Democratic Socialist, anti-cop, BLM-supporting judge in hot water after allegedly posing in hot tub with public defenders talking about breasts

A Las Vegas judge has been accused of committing ethics violations after several "inappropriate" social media posts, including one where she talked about breasts while posing with public defenders in a hot tub.

The Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline filed charges against Clark County District Court Judge Erika Ballou on Wednesday.

According to the formal statement of charges, Judge Ballou allegedly posted a photo on her Facebook page in April 2022 of herself in a hot tub with two public defenders – Shana Brouwers and Robson Hauser – with the caption: "Robson is surrounded by great t*ts."

Ballou is accused of violating rules requiring a judge to "promote public confidence in the independence, integrity, and impartiality of the judiciary and shall avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety," according to the Daily Mail.

"According to court documents, Ballou shared a post that showed her in a hot tub with two members of the public defender's office, including an inappropriate comment referring to 't*ts,'" KSNV reported.

The formal statement of charges also referred to a Facebook post from April 2022.

The complaint – filed by attorney Francis Flaherty – is a first step for possible disciplinary action against Ballou.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, "The complaint said Ballou’s posts violated several codes of conduct, including one that states judges should act in a way that promotes public trust, a rule that calls for her position take precedence over her 'personal and extrajudicial activities,' and a rule that prohibits conveying an impression that there’s somebody or an entity in a position of influence."

Ballou has been criticized in the past for her extremely controversial opinions.

In 2016, Ballou refused to remove a Black Lives Matter pin after she was ordered to remove it by a judge.

In July 2022, the Las Vegas Police Protective Association demanded that Ballou resign after she made remarks that were deemed to be "anti-cop."

Courtroom video shows Ballou telling a defendant, "You’re the one making the decisions not to walk away from cops. You’re a black man in America. You know you don’t want to be nowhere where cops are. You know you don’t want to be nowhere where cops are cause I know I don’t, and I’m a middle-aged, middle-class black woman. I don’t want to be around where the cops are because I don’t know if I’m going to walk away alive or not."

After the controversy, Ballou claimed that she supported law enforcement by saying, "What the record shows, is that I communicate with those who appear before me in a manner that is straight-forward and understandable."

Ballou was sworn in as a judge in January 2021.

KLAS-TV reported, "Before becoming a judge, Ballou was a public defender and social justice organizer. She was a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, which supported her run for judge."

Video: Man pummels suspected child sex predator at Las Vegas courthouse

A suspect charged with sexually assaulting a minor was thrashed by a man and the violent ambush was all caught on video.

Yousuf Azami – a 59-year-old actor who was born in Afghanistan – was recently charged with kidnapping, lewdness, and sex assault charges.

On Tuesday, Azami made an appearance at Las Vegas Justice Court for a preliminary hearing on the charges.

"For some reason, Azami walked out of the Las Vegas Justice Court courtroom before the hearing," according to KLAS-TV.

Security camera footage shows a man sitting on a bench outside the courtroom. He noticed Azami exit the courtroom and he followed him down the hallway of the courthouse.

After appearing to briefly exchange words, the man then unleashed a powerful right hook that caused Azami to plummet to the floor. While Azami was on the ground, the attacker repeatedly punched the suspected child sex predator.

Video shows bystanders and law enforcement officers immediately rushing to stop the physical attack.

The assailant has been identified as Glenn Cromwell Jr.

Cromwell was taken into custody and charged with battery.

He was released on his own recognizance and is due to appear in court on March 19.

KLAS-TV reported that Cromwell is "connected" to the alleged teen victim. The Mirror claimed that vigilante is the father of the victim.

Azami is accused of sexually assaulting a teen girl said to be age 14 or 15 at the time of the alleged sex crime.

The alleged victim told police that she was walking around looking to "get something to smoke and eat" on Sept. 3, 2023. She claimed to have encountered Azami at a marijuana dispensary parking lot.

Azami allegedly drove the young girl to his apartment.

“Azami was on the couch for a while on his phone and then came to lay with her on the bed,” according to police. “[The teenager] had just started to fall asleep when Azami lay behind her. She stated she felt his pelvis ‘grinding’ against her and he was not wearing any clothes.”

The alleged victim said that she told Azami to stop his sexual advances. Charging documents say the teenager then took a shower, put on clothing belonging to Azami, and ran out of the apartment.

The minor was reportedly near the Mirage Hotel, where "she met a man who was picking up his wife” and informed him that “she had been kidnapped and raped and needed police."

Police officers responded to the Mirage Hotel for a report of child sex abuse.

Azami denied having any sexual contact with the teenager, according to police. He alleged not to know the teenager was underage.

Azami is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 20. He had been released from jail on $5,000 bail.

The court brouhaha took place in the same Las Vegas courthouse where a felon tackled and attacked Clark County District Court Judge Mary Kay Holthus earlier this month. That disturbing attack was also captured on security camera video.

Pastor's child recorded moment dad was shot and killed after HOA feud with neighbor: 'Your mind just can't process that'

The final moments of a pastor's life were captured on video recorded by a child of the slain Las Vegas man. A new lawsuit accuses a next-door neighbor of murdering the pastor and shooting his wife following an HOA dispute.

Nick Davi, a 46-year-old pastor at Grace Point Church in North Las Vegas, was gunned down in front of his townhouse in the gated Courts of Aliante community in Nevada.

Davi, his wife, and two children were leaving their home on Dec. 29, 2023. Their next-door neighbor Joe Junio allegedly pulled into the Davis' driveway as they were about to depart.

According to video taken by one of the Davi children sitting inside a vehicle, someone in the family shouted at Junio, "Why don’t you leave us alone? We’ve had enough."

The pastor allegedly asked Junio, "What’s your problem with us?"

As he exited the car and stepped toward Junio's vehicle, the neighbor reportedly shot Junio. The armed neighbor then shot the pastor's wife, Sarah Davi.

Sarah survived the shooting. However, Nick was shot and killed in front of his children — ages 12 and 15.

Ty Neal — a fellow pastor of Grace Point Church — told KVVU-TV of the tragic shooting, "Your mind just can’t process that."

Junio, 36, was arrested on the same day as the shooting. She was charged with open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder, battery, child abuse/neglect, and discharging a gun/weapon where a person might be endangered.

Junio is being held on $300,000 bail at the Clark County Detention Center.

The pastor's widow filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Junio on Jan. 19. Sarah Davi is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.

The lawsuit accuses Junio of terrorizing the family for weeks before reportedly shooting and killing the pastor in his driveway.

The family reportedly lodged a complaint with their community's homeowners association against Junio for having chickens and dogs around her property.

However, Junio exhibited "escalating threatening behavior" after the family filed the complaint with the HOA, KLAS-TV reported. The family allegedly called the police twice in December regarding Junio's behavior.

Junio purportedly threw rocks into the family's yard. She allegedly "ran her finger across her throat in a cutting motion and told them they were next," police said.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported, "She was also accused of throwing a large amount of dog feces and flooding Nicholas and Sarah Davi’s home. The couple had filed a restraining order, moved out of the home, and had been sleeping elsewhere before the killing, police said."

Junio — who was licensed with the Nevada Real Estate Division — allegedly posted an article on her Facebook titled "Avoiding a Nightmare Neighbor When Buying a Home." The Realty Times article describes a "nightmare neighbor" as someone who "complains if your garbage cans are still out five minutes after trash pickup" and "if a dog even sniffs his lawn." The article states that a nightmare neighbor is to be "avoided at all costs."

The lawsuit says of the HOA's role in the fatal shooting, "The homeowners association knew or should have known that Defendant would likely perform violent actions against deceased and Plaintiff as a result of on-going association dispute."

The lawsuit also claims Junio did not have a license or permit to carry a firearm and that she borrowed the gun from another person.

Junio is scheduled for a preliminary court hearing on March 4.

4 teen suspects accused of savagely beating Las Vegas classmate to death charged with murder as adults

Four of the eight high school students accused of savagely beating their Las Vegas schoolmate to death have been charged with murder and will be tried as adults.

As Blaze News previously reported, 17-year-old Jonathan Lewis Jr. was brutally beaten to death on Nov. 7 by fellow classmates in an alley near Rancho High School in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

Earlier this week, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested eight suspects – all teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17.

Four of the teen suspects – ages 16 and 17 – appeared in court for the first time on Friday.

The Associated Press reported, "The students each face one count of murder but have not been formally charged, court records show."

According to the New York Post, "Dontral Beaver, 16; Gianni Robinson, 17; and Damien Hernandez, 17, and Treavion Randolph, 16, face murder charges in connection to Lewis’ death on Nov. 7."

The teenage suspects were being held without bail pending a formal hearing to address their custody status. The suspects are scheduled to return to court next week.

WXIN noted that one of the suspects turned 16 on the day of the deadly assault that took the life of Lewis Jr.

The other four suspects are awaiting a separate hearing because they are all under the age of 16.

"Because the other four teenagers are under the age of 16, they will need to go through a certification hearing in Family Court for a judge to determine if they will be tried as adults," the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

On Friday, a prosecutor said in court that there are still two remaining suspects still at-large.

In Nevada, teens accused of murder who are age 16 or older are automatically transferred to the adult court system.

According to Nevada law, suspects as young as 13 years old can be charged with murder or attempted murder.

Cell phone video of the disturbing pile-on brawl went viral. The footage shows Lewis being mauled by a group of teenagers.

Police homicide Lt. Jason Johansson said investigators suspect that the fight stemmed from a pair of wireless headphones and a vape pen being stolen from a friend of Lewis. Johansson said Lewis was not originally involved in the melee, but walked into the alleyway with his friend after school.

"As you know, the video that has been shared widely on social media ... is very graphic and in my opinion is very void of humanity," said Johansson. "What you see in the video though is approximately 10 subjects kicking, stomping, and punching our victim Jonathan as he's on the ground, not defending himself, until the point at where he becomes unconscious."

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said race did not play a factor in the death of Lewis, and none of the suspects have been charged with any hate crimes.

'Cowardly violence is pathetic': Father speaks out after teen son is brutally beaten to death in Las Vegas by 15 teenagers

A teenage boy lost his life after he was severely beaten by 15 people near a high school in Las Vegas, according to his father.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers responded to a battery call near Rancho High School on Nov. 1.

KVVU-TV reported that police found a student who was "battered and bleeding from the head." The teen was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition and later placed on life support. However, the teen died last Tuesday at University Medical Center, according to the boy's father.

Jonathan Lewis Sr. said his 17-year-old son – Jonathan Lewis Jr. – died after being thrashed by 15 people.

Video of the brutal attack emerged on social media last week, showing the teen being savagely pummeled as he tried to run away.

Lewis Sr. said he believes the deadly onslaught began after "Jonathan stood up for one of his smaller friends," according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

"A couple (of people) attacked him, and they weren’t able to hurt him enough, and they all attacked him at once," the dad stated.

Fox News reported that the Las Vegas Metro Police Department's homicide unit is investigating the case. However, no arrests have been made thus far.

According to KLAS-TV, "Lewis also said the family was told by investigators they plan to charge several students involved in that fight with murder."

The father said, "We’re all just trying to process this. The whole family is in shock."

The father told the outlet, "I think there’s just a failure of all of humanity to recognize that we need to be teaching our youth how to coexist."

The father told KVVU-TV that the fatal physical assault was a "horrific tragedy is reflective of the divisive, conflict-based, uncaring state that our society and humanity is currently facing with how we interact with our community."

"Empathy and love are great strength and cowardly violence is pathetic," the dad added. "A true warrior would never cowardly beat one person just because the two or three members of the group couldn’t beat the one warrior, a true warrior would let the others learn and grow."

The teen's father said his family denounces violence "as a means to sociological conflict." He said the family believes that people being caring, respectful, compassionate, and caring are the "great strength of community and emphasize that those are the values that the warriors of our family teach."

Lewis Sr. remembered his son as a "loving, giving, kind, fierce young man who loved community and caring for others."

The father said his son was an aspiring artist who was considering joining the military like his grandfather – who served in the U.S. Navy.

The father revealed, "I hope there’s a way that I can find forgiveness in their heart and find a way to be able to come to terms with what they’ve done. I just love my children with all my heart, and it’s just unimaginable that we could ever come to this point."

Ex-gang leader arrested, charged with the 1996 murder of Tupac Shakur in long-awaited breakthrough

One of the last living witnesses to the notorious drive-by shooting death of Tupac Shakur has been arrested and charged with the 1996 murder of the iconic rapper.

Las Vegas law enforcement officials announced on Friday that 60-year-old Duane "Keffe D" Davis had been arrested and charged with one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon with a gang enhancement in connection with the fatal shooting of Tupac.

A Clark County judge reportedly denied Davis bail during his court hearing Friday.

Clark County prosecutor Marc DiGiacomo said evidence was presented to the grand jury that Davis acted as the "on-ground, on-site commander" who "ordered the death" of Tupac "for the purpose of seeking retribution."

"Many people who did not believe the murder of Tupac Shakur was important to this police department, I am here to tell you: that was simply not the case," Sheriff Kevin McMahill said at a press conference on Friday afternoon.

"Our goal was always to hold those responsible for Tupac's violent murder accountable," McMahill added.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department homicide Lieutenant Jason Johansson explained, "This case has been reviewed by our homicide team and our homicide detectives for over two and a half decades, and our persistence in this investigation has paid off."

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson told reporters, "It has often been said that justice delayed is justice denied. Not in this case. Today, justice will be served."

The long-awaited breakthrough in the cold case is decades in the making. Shakur was gunned down on the Las Vegas strip 27 years ago.

On the night of Sept. 7, 1996, Shakur and Death Row Records CEO Marion "Suge" Knight attended a Mike Tyson boxing match at the MGM Grand Arena. Following the fight, members of the Death Row Records entourage allegedly physically assaulted Orlando "Baby Lane" Anderson – the nephew of Davis.

True Crime Daily reported, "Davis and other members of the Crips reportedly found out about the incident with Anderson, which prompted Davis to allegedly 'devise a plan to obtain a firearm and retaliate against Knight and Shakur for what occurred.'"

Shakur and Knight then drove in a black BMW to an afterparty.

Davis – a leader of the South Side Crips gang – was reportedly in a white Cadillac with three others, including Anderson. Davis allegedly handed a gun to someone in the backseat. When the BMW was stopped at a red light, the Cadillac pulled up beside the car and someone in the backseat executed a deadly drive-by shooting. Shakur was shot four times. The Cadillac sped off.

Tupac, 25, was taken to University Medical Center and died six days later on Sept. 13, 1996.

Anderson was reportedly a suspect in Shakur’s killing, but he was fatally shot two years after Tupac's death.
