Dutch 'anti-globalist' politician viciously attacked 2 days before election

The self-described "anti-globalist" leader of a Dutch populist party was assaulted two days ahead of the country's general election.

Thierry Baudet, the 40-year-old leader of the Forum for Democracy party, was at an election meeting in a Groningen cafe when a teen smashed him over the head with a beer bottle.

According to the party, the populist leader was "hit on the back of the head with a beer bottle and was also hit on the edge of his temple just next to his eye," and a security guard was also injured. Baudet was taken to a hospital, where he was treated by a trauma surgeon.

Footage of the incident shows an individual sneak up on Baudet, smash the former academic repeatedly in the head, then get tackled by security.

Following the attack, Baudet told the Dutch newspaper De Andere Krant that Antifa should be placed on the terror list.

"Now that it has become known that Antifa has claimed responsibility for the attack on me, we want Antifa to be immediately placed on the terror list. According to the [Dutch General Intelligence and Security Service], the greatest danger to our democracy is the so-called 'anti-institutional extremism', while left-wing activism is dismissed as a playful phenomenon," said Baudet.

Police spokesman Thijs de Jong suggested the attacker has been arrested and his motive is presently under investigation, reported the Washington Post.

Outgoing Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte wrote on X that it was "totally unacceptable that Thierry Baudet has been attacked again. I said it before and I'll repeat it now: stay away from politicians."

Last month, Baudet was attacked by another radical while on his way to speak at a conservative event at Ghent University in Belgium. The attacker of Ukrainian origin, whom Belgian police indicated will be prosecuted for "intentional assault and battery," reportedly said "no to fascism, no to Putinism," after slugging Baudet over the head with a weighty umbrella.

Extra to his criticism of globalism, mass immigration, LGBT activism, the European Union, and NATO, Baudet has proven a controversial figure over his apparent refusal to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine and corresponding suggestion that the conflict is the fault of the West.

— (@)

Baudet said Tuesday he and his team are "working very had behind the scenes to analyze how this could happen a second time, and what we should do about it," reported the NL Times.

"They say three times is a charm, but I'll skip that," he added.

A Monday night poll indicated that the Forum for Democracy party, polling at 2%, stands to possibly take five seats in the 150-seat lower house of the Dutch Parliament. Rutte's VVD party, now led by Turkish-Kurdish refugee Dilan Yeşilgöz, is leading in the polls with 18%, reported Politico.

The right-wing populist Party for Freedom, run by Islam critic Geert Wilders, has seen significant gains in the polls in recent weeks and now sits at 16%, tied with the leftist GorenLinks-PvdA coalition.

Antisemitic Attacks Against Jews Are The Media’s New ‘Mostly Peaceful Protests’

Media outlets downplayed the severity of Sunday's antisemitic airport attack by painting the incident as an 'anti-Israel protest.'

NYC college professor freaks out at pro-life students, tossing their property and cursing: 'Get this f***ing s*** out of here!'

Students peaceably advocating on behalf of the unborn at a taxpayer-funded Manhattan college appear to have been attacked earlier this month by a leftist adjunct assistant professor who accused them of violence and "triggering" her students.

Students for Life of America have circulated a video wherein Shellyne Rodriguez, an assistant art professor with the City University of New York's Hunter College, can reportedly be seen verbally attacking two pro-life students before getting physical.

With permission from the school's office of student affairs, pro-life students staged a modest display at Hunter College on May 2, speaking both to the humanity of the unborn and inhumanity of chemical abortion pills — pills Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul ensured CUNY students could procure on campus earlier this month.

In the video shared by Students for Life, Rodriguez tells the students, "You're not educating s***. This is f***ing propaganda. "

Rodriguez was of the same mind as the student group CUNY for Abortion Rights, which later claimed the pro-life students were "propagating dangerous propaganda," having included "inaccurate depictions" of abortions from "unscientific sources" and dared to humanize the unborn with the aid of a plastic fetus.

After claiming that the scientific factoids shared by the pro-lifers amounted to propaganda, Rodriguez says in the video, "What are you going to do, like, anti-trans next?"

A male student responds, "I mean, no, we are talking about abortion."

"This is bull****. This is violent. You're triggering my students," say Rodriguez.

The assistant professor then presumes the male pro-lifer's gender and claims, "You can't even have a f***ing baby so you don't even know what that is."

Rodriguez apparently thought that the answer to hypothetical violence was real violence.

In the footage, the leftist professor tosses a metal case into the female student, slams pro-life literature towards both students, then lumbers away, leaving the pro-life activists to calmly clean up her mess.

Legal scholar Jonathan Turley noted that ironically, "Rodriguez describes her work as 'depict[ing] spaces and subjects engaged in strategies of survival against erasure and subjugation.' It appears that she also specializes in erasing the views of others."

— Students for Life of America (@Students for Life of America) 1684347430

A spokesman for Hunter College told Fox News Digital that the school is aware of the encounter and is "taking this matter very seriously," adding, "The provost has opened an investigation into the professor’s actions."

According to CUNY for Abortion Rights, Professional Staff Congress trade union members, the anti-Israeli group Palestine Solidarity Alliance, and others on campus support Rodriguez and her attack on the pro-life students.

The extremist abortion group went so far as to state, "We refuse to allow CUNY to welcome Students for Life and other far-right groups onto our campuses. We will not be persuaded by an ambiguous liberal vision of allowing 'all ideas to gain a hearing,'" adding that "in solidarity with Shellyne, we commit to disrupting, dismantling, and uprooting any of these far-right groups when they attempt to plant seeds of harm at CUNY."

Despite these leftist threats and Rodriguez's apparent antipathy for free speech, a spokesman for the school said, "Hunter College prides itself on maintaining decorum and respect for all, while encouraging the free expression of ideas. ... Students can display one side of a political issue, or more than one side. We consider our campus a vibrant marketplace of ideas."

LifeNews noted that this incident is just one of the hundreds of attacks committed by pro-abortion radicals on pro-life students, groups, facilities and churches over the past year.

'Non-binary' Oklahoma Democrat censured for harboring fugitive accused of attacking trooper

The Oklahoma House of Representatives censured a Democrat state representative for harboring a fugitive who allegedly assaulted a highway patrol trooper.

Rep. Mauree Turner, who refers to herself in the plural and is said to be America's first "non-binary" Muslim lawmaker, will have her assignments restored if she offers an apology — something she has refused to do.

Another leftist attack on democracy

House Bill 2177 passed 80-18 along party lines on Feb. 28, angering transsexual activists. The legislation, authored by Republican Reps. Kevin West and Jim Olsen, prohibits health care professionals from referring, performing, or attempting to perform confusion-affirming genital mutilation procedures and hormone treatments on any individual under 18 years of age.

Tulsa World reported that the legislation, sent to the Senate last week, would also bar state funds or private insurers from covering such procedures for anyone, including adults, who would instead have to pay for the alterations themselves.

Republicans emphasized that the bill was aimed at protecting children from irreversible, life-changing transmogrifications, reported KOKH-TV.

"This legislation is about protecting our children from those who would seek to profit from their gender confusion," said West. "As a state, we must not be partner to irreversible health practices that permanently change the bodies of our children before they are of an age where they can fully understand the consequences of their decisions."

Olsen said, "Even one child who undergoes a life-altering procedure and later laments their decision is one too many. I'm proud to stand against these reprehensible actions and proud to protect Oklahoma's children."

Rep. J.J. Humphrey (R) reportedly likened getting surgery to accommodate the delusion that one is transsexual to jumping off a building because one supposes he is Superman.

"The very fact you have to request a surgery to change your sex, Scooby-Doo would call that a clue," said Humphrey. "And Scooby-Doo would also say, 'Ruh-roh.'"

Ahead of the vote, the crowd of LGBT activists who had gathered to watch reportedly broke out into sporadic meltdowns, with one person shouting, "You're killing children."

After the vote, transsexual activists reportedly hurled fluids at Olsen and fellow Republican Rep. Bob Ed Culver.

KFOR reported that Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers intervened and attempted to escort the activists out; however, at the fourth floor stairwell, one of the radicals threw fluids once more, this time at the trooper.

When the trooper attempted to make an arrest, the activist allegedly attacked the trooper.

During the attack, the second activist, who had allegedly interfered with the arrest, fled and was given refuge in Democratic Rep. Mauree Turner's office.

"When we go up to the representative’s office, we were not allowed in, even from opening the door," said Highway Patrol Trooper Eric Foster.

“Here is the video of the interaction I missed the water being sprayed on Culver but here’s everything after that.”
— Reese Gorman (@Reese Gorman) 1677609189

Justice delivered

Culver said in a statement, "If water being thrown on me had been the extent of the action taken, I would not have given it a second thought. However, I cannot stand by while our highway patrolmen are assaulted for simply doing their jobs."

"Taking all of that into consideration, I have decided to press charges against the individual who assaulted me and the patrolman and will cooperate fully with the law enforcement investigation," added Culver.

Both transsexual activists involved in the incident were ultimately arrested.

Savannah Mitchell, arrested at the Capitol, was accused of throwing fluids at Culver.

KOKH-TV reported that Austin Ross, the man Turner reportedly hid in her office, was arrested March 6 and charged with assault and battery on a police officer.

Court documents indicate that Ross tried to interfere with Mitchell's arrest, grabbing the trooper's hands to free his compatriot.

Following a 81-19 House vote, Turner was censured on March 7 for her part in impeding the restoration of order and allegedly harboring Ross.

On March 7, the state House issued a statement, noting that Turner "harbored a fugitive wanted for questioning in conjunction with the alleged assault inside of their House office and rejected multiple requests by law enforcement to question the individual."

House Speaker Charles McCall (R) said, "Last week, a member of the House of Representatives and a highway patrolman were assaulted after an otherwise peaceful protest turned violent. Following this assault, one individual was apprehended by law enforcement while another involved in the incident fled the scene. It came to the attention of law enforcement that the individual who fled was hiding in the official office of a member of the House."

"This member knowingly and willfully impeded a law enforcement investigation, harboring a fugitive and repeatedly lying to officers, and used their official office and position to thwart attempts by law enforcement to make contact with a suspect of the investigation," said McCall. "I want to make something very clear: I will not allow members of the House of Representatives to use their House assigned offices and official positions to impede law enforcement officers carrying out investigations or making arrests in the State Capitol."

McCall underscored that Turner's conduct was "inappropriate, and potentially criminal."

Turner will be removed from all committee assignments unless she issues a formal apology, including to the Highway Patrol, reported the Associated Press.

Unrepentant

While Turner need only apologize to resume her committee assignments, she emphasized she is not sorry for harboring a fugitive who reportedly lashed out at members of law enforcement.

"I think an apology for loving the people of Oklahoma is something that I cannot do," said Turner. She added, "It’s something that I actively refuse to do."

House Democratic Leader Rep. Cyndi Munson suggested that Republicans in the House were trying to "silence a member who does not think like them, act like them, dress like them, who challenges their positions, especially when they are running legislation to harm people in our community."

The LGBT activist group Human Rights Campaign suggested that the state House's censure of Turner, not the reported transsexual activist attacks on police and lawmakers, amounted to extremism.

Dave Chappelle calls out censorious transsexual activists who claim his jokes cause violence, who yet savagely attack his fans: 'They want to be feared'

Comedian Dave Chappelle took LGBT activists to task this week for their apparent hypocrisy and intolerance. On the second episode of his "The Midnight Miracle" podcast, Chappelle discussed violent activists' savage attacks on his fans and their success in getting one of his shows cancelled.

What's the background?

In conversation with co-hosts Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey, Chappelle noted that transsexual activists "want to be feared. 'If you say this, then we will punish you. We'll come to First Avenue and f*** your show and we'll come to the Varsity Theater and f**** your show up.' And they just don't get to do that."

Chappelle was scheduled to put on a comedy show in July at an iconic concert venue in Minneapolis, First Avenue. However, the event was cancelled just hours before it was set to begin.

TheBlaze previously reported that First Avenue officials canceled it and that it was subsequently moved to the Varsity Theater, a venue roughly 2.5 miles away.

The Federalist's Mollie Hemingway suggested at the time that this move amounted to "totalitarian censorship," exemplifying "hatred of free expression."

First Avenue had evidently caved to activist pressure, saying in a statement, "We believe in diverse voices and the freedom of artistic expression, but in honoring that, we lost sight of the impact this would have."

Rolling Stone reported that staffers had complained about Chappelle and threatened to bail out of work.

The staffers and other activists antipathetic to free speech were enraged in part by Chappelle's 2021 stand-up special "The Closer," which had sparked walkouts at Netflix.

Former actress Elliot Page, Jameela Jamil, and one of the former Wachowski brothers behind "The Matrix" were among the so-called celebrities who supported the Netflix employees' efforts to silence the black comedian, reported the BBC.

Transsexual activist Ashlee Marie Preston said, "We are here today not because we don't know how to take a joke. We're here because we're concerned that the jokes are taking lives."

One of the allegedly homicidal quips Chappelle made in the special was: "They canceled J.K. Rowling. My God. ... Effectually she said gender was a fact, and then the trans community got mad as s***, they started calling her a TERF."

The comedian then noted he was on "Team TERF," which stands for trans-exclusionary radical feminist — a group that believes only biological females are women.

NBC News indicated the show's cancellation in Minneapolis was also prompted by a Change.org online petition, which claimed, "Dave Chappelle has a record of being dangerous to trans people, and First Avenue has a duty to protect the community."

Activists were apparently not satisfied that Chappelle's show had been relocated. They wanted him silenced outright.

Violent activists flocked to the second theater in hopes of a repeat success.

Rainbow coalition's intolerance

On his podcast this week, Chappelle recalled how transsexual activists mobbed his fans lined up outside the Varsity Theater, waiting to get in after the cancellation of the original show.

Chappelle said that these transsexual activists "and their surrogates always say that my jokes are somehow gonna be the root cause of some impending violence."

Before a joke was uttered on stage that day, "people of various genders and gender identities ... threw eggs. They threw eggs at the people who were lined up to see the show," said Chappelle.

"One lady was so mad with the protesters, she picked up a police barricade. ... You ever seen one? They look like a bike rack. This b**** picked that barricade up by herself and threw it at the crowd," recalled the comedian. "I gotta tell you, it’s an amazing feat of strength for a woman."

Chappelle recalled that the violent activists' rallying cry was "'Go home, transphobe.' They kept saying that: 'Go home, transphobe,' and 'f*** you, transphobe.' It was really confusing, but if you replace the word 'transphobe' for 'n*****,' it makes perfect sense."

Despite the activists' venom and violence, Chappelle underscored how none of his fans "beat 'em up. In fact, the people in the crowd would just say, 'We love you. Like what are you talking about?'"

Chappelle has endeavored to take a nuanced approach to LGBT matters in his comedy. Nonetheless, on account of his refusal to subordinate his sense of humor to activists' precepts, he has been physically attacked along with his fans.

Chappelle was attacked on stage at the Hollywood Bowl in May by a man reportedly armed with a knife, who claimed to have been "triggered" by the comedian's jokes about the LGBT "community."

“Another angle of Dave Chappelle getting attacked on stage at the Hollywood Bowl. https://t.co/6OPZv32wKR”
— CONSEQUENCE (@CONSEQUENCE) 1651702572

"Art is a nuanced endeavor," Chappelle said this week. "I have a belief that they are trying to take the nuance out of speech in American culture, that they're making people speak as if they're either on the right or the left. Everything seems absolute, and any opinion I respect is way more nuanced than these binary choices they keep putting in front of us. I don't see the world in red or blue."

The comedian intimated that activists are going out of their way to find and take offense: "There's a thing they do where they deliberately obscure what I think they believe is the intent of my work to make a moment of it that I don't know that the work necessarily merits. You know what I mean?"

"I’m not even mad that they take issue with my work, he added. "Good, fine. Who cares? What I take issue with is the idea that because they don’t like it, I’m not allowed to say it."

Jeremy Clarkson of "Grand Tour" fame, now facing further cancellation, recently expressed a similar sentiment in an op-ed, claiming that leftist malcontents are always "inventing new rules to ensnare anyone and everyone they deem to be unworthy" and that there "really is an army with the ability to remove from public life anyone who disagrees with its increasingly militant viewpoint."

Antifa, radical leftists reportedly call for 'night of rage' in wake of SCOTUS abortion overturn: 'Enough is enough with peaceful protest'

Antifa expert Andy Ngo on Friday posted screenshots of tweets from Antifa-affiliated groups and other radical leftists around the country calling for a "night of rage" and similar actions in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court's overturn of Roe v. Wade, which has permitted abortion nationwide for nearly 50 years.

What are the details?

In a Twitter thread that he promised to update, Ngo first warned that the violent anarchist group Jane's Revenge — which has claimed responsibility for a number of attacks on pro-life groups since the leak of the Roe v. Wade overturn draft — has updated its flyers and is calling for violence Friday night:

“In anticipation of the striking down of Roe v Wade, a far-left #Antifa-linked group named Jane’s Revenge carried out violent attacks on pregnancy resource centers across the US for weeks. Their current flyers in DC call for mass violence tonight:”

Ngo also tweeted that the Washington, D.C., chapter of the Youth Liberation Front — another "violent Antifa group" — is "calling for people to wear black, mask up & to meet at Folger Park at 7:30 p.m. The YLF was responsible for months of extreme violence in Portland & Seattle in 2020."

He added that Antifa in Portland already made plans for violence Thursday and announced a "direct action gathering starting at 5:30 pm PT at Lownsdale Square — the same location they occupied in 2020 & used as a base to carry out mass violence & arson."

Ngo also pointed to an "Anifa account representing members in DC, Maryland & Virginia" from which a tweet read, "Is your bag packed? Let's f***ing go."

He added that the "Florida chapter of #Antifa group Revolutionary Abolition tells comrades to 'bloc up.' This refers to wearing black clothing & black masks to hide identities during crimes." Ngo also said the group "retweeted a post calling for addresses of the family of their target."

Ngo also mentioned that "far-left writer" Gretchen Felker-Martin, who he said penned a "novel where two trans people murder their targets," called for "violence." One of Felker-Martin's Friday tweets read, "Enough is enough with peaceful protest."

Ngo added that the "far-left Abolitionist Law Center"— anticipating that its "comrades will be arrested for crimes" — is "calling for people to donate to abortion & bail funds. Many far-left groups exist in US to provide legal support & bail money to violent far-left extremists."

Tweet attributed to far-left activist Robert Reich said Democrats should have given Kyrsten Sinema the 'backs of their hands' over filibuster

Far-left activist Robert Reich — who was secretary of labor under former President Bill Clinton — apparently posted and then deleted a tweet saying Democrats should have given U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Arizona) the "backs of their hands" over her support for the filibuster.

Sinema — along with Democrat Joe Manchin of West Virginia — voted against a rule change that would have lowered the Senate's 60-vote threshold to 50 so that Democrats could avoid the filibuster and push through voting rights legislation. Democrats and Republicans are tied 50-50 in the Senate, and Vice President Kamala Harris is poised to break voting ties to push through Democratic legislation.

What did the tweet say?

The tweet attributed to Reich stated: "Tonight, Republican senators lined up to shake Kyrsten Sinema's hand. Democratic senators should have given her the backs of their hands."

While the tweet was not on Reich's timeline Thursday morning, scores of users have been posting images of it:

pic.twitter.com/11hoBAzcXc
— Stephen L. Miller (@Stephen L. Miller) 1642683875

A Google search Thursday morning for "robert reich twitter" showed the tweet in the search results:

But the resulting message after clicking on the displayed tweet indicates the "page doesn't exist."

Reich as of Thursday morning does not appear to have offered an explanation on Twitter for the post about Sinema.

Neither Reich nor Sinema by early Thursday afternoon replied to requests for comment from TheBlaze regarding the tweet.

How have folks reacted to the tweet?

It's quite apparent from glancing at tweets directed to Reich that many users are unhappy with him over words that seem to advocate violence toward Sinema.

Conservative commentator and radio host Jason Rantz told Reich "and yet the only one you recommended people physically abuse was the one female Democrat."

Author and comedian Tim Young called Reich a "very tiny 'man'" who "supports violence against women... not shocking at all."

Others were equally appalled:

 • "So beating women is A-OK with you?" another commenter asked Reich.
 • "And this is your response? WOW. Big tough guy huh? Does it work? You knock women around if you don’t get your way?" another user asked Reich. "Nah, you tell others to do it..typical Dem getting someone else to do your dirty work."
 • "And you encouraged beating women because they don’t fall in line with what you expect of them," another commenter said. "You, Bobby, are a POS."
 • "Nice message before you deleted it...." another user wrote to Reich apparently with tongue firmly in cheek. "Your cult will have to cheat harder I guess."
 • "Tonight, the former secretary of labor thinks a woman should get back handed for exercising her vote in a way he disagrees with," another commenter said. "What a scumbag."

Attacks against Sinema

Sinema has been repeatedly attacked for going against the Democratic Party line. Late-night TV host Stephen Colbert this week blasted Sinema as an "anti-Democratic tool." And leftist protesters have confronted her everywhere from inside a bathroom to aboard an airplane — and even at a wedding she was officiating.

Anything else?

Less than a year ago, Reich accused the Republican Party of becoming a "white supremacist cult" and said in a YouTube video that there's "no compromising with the GOP cult" and that the party has become "conspiracy-fueled" and "hate-filled."

In October 2020, he called for a post-election "Truth and Reconciliation Commission" to censor speech and name and shame every public figure who supported then-President Donald Trump.

Wi Spa 'did the right thing' defending 'transgender customer' being 'nude in the women’s area,' LA Times editorial says

The Los Angeles Times has come out in support of Wi Spa in an editorial saying the business "did the right thing" in defending a "transgender customer" being "nude in the women's area."

What's the background?

In a viral video, an outraged woman complained to Wi Spa staff that a naked man was allowed in a female-only area just because he identified as a woman.

Instagram user cubanaangel — who claimed the cellphone video is hers — wrote the following caption: "NAKED MAN ALLOWED WOMEN DAY SPA. Los Angeles, California. Wi Spa allows a man into women's wet spa section where all the women are naked, mothers with there young daughters and teens. The Wi Spa allowed the man access just because he calls himself a woman. This man was naked [exposing] his testicles and penis slinging left to right in front of young girls, teens, and grown women. What is our world coming to[?]"

The woman recording the clip asked the employee behind the counter, "It's OK for a man to go into the women's section, show his penis around the other women — young little girls, underage? Wi Spa condones that — is that what you're saying?"

When the employee made reference to the man's "sexual orientation," the woman replied, "What sexual orientation? I see a d**k! It lets me know he's a man … he is not a female!"

Toward the end of the clip, another woman — presumably a spa employee — noted that the naked man the woman originally complained about should not have been allowed in the female section.

Woman goes ballistic after man enters Wi's Spa in L.A. with penis out in front of women and children youtu.be

Los Angeles magazine said Wi Spa issued a statement pointing to state law prohibiting businesses from discriminating against trans and other gender non-conforming people.

"Like many other metropolitan areas, Los Angeles contains a transgender population, some of whom enjoy visiting a spa," the statement added, according to the magazine. "Wi Spa strives to meet the needs of all its customers."

Leftist militants beat up Wi Spa protesters

After word got out that a protest against Wi Spa would be held, along with a counter-protest, familiar-looking militants — one of whom was flying the Antifa flag — showed up disguised in black from head to toe outside the spa July 3 and beat up, harassed, and intimidated any spa protesters they encountered.

Leftists used their feet — and even a skateboard — to stomp on protesters' heads. A conservative demonstrator got knifed. A reporter got walloped with a club. As violent leftists often do, they gathered in mobs and outnumbered spa protesters — and even ganged up on a lone middle-aged woman on a sidewalk:

What else did the LA Times say?

Despite the thrust of the Times editorial, it actually managed to eke out an acknowledgment that not every female who feels uncomfortable at the "sight of male-appearing genitalia" in women-only spa areas is "a bigot." How generous.

"There are women who have been through personal experiences such as sexual assault who might find such a situation intimidating," the editorial added. "It could go against the convictions and traditions of observant Muslims and Jews, who have a conservative or orthodox interpretation of gender norms and might themselves feel marginalized for their traditionalist beliefs."

But in the end, the Times said that "no one has an absolute right to feel comfortable all the time. People have a right to use the spa, but that doesn't include with it a guarantee that they all will feel at ease with everything they see. They might prefer a spa where a certain amount of body covering is required."

And for the time being, the editorial noted that "customers of public-serving businesses should be prepared to share space with the public, in all our forms, varieties and customs. Anti-discrimination laws stand for the principle that all are welcome, whether we are comfortable or not."

Left-wing activist, 32, accused of punching chest of 80-year-old woman rallying for President Trump after she tossed water on him

A 32-year-old leftist activist is accused of punching an 80-year-old woman in the chest while she was rallying for President Donald Trump in Swampscott, Massachusetts, on Saturday.

But while Ernst Jean-Jacques, Jr., was charged with assault and battery on a person 60 years or older, the alleged victim admitted she was angry at the suspect for "gyrating in front of me" and tossed water on him in response, the Daily Item reported.

What are the details?

In video recorded at the event, Jean-Jacques Jr. — founder of the Freedom Fighters Coalition of 2020 — is seen across a barrier from the Trump supporters dancing to "It's Raining Men," which the Trump supporters had playing in the background.

At one point Jean-Jacques gives the finger to the Trump supporters:

The alleged victim — Swampscott resident Linda Greenberg, the Daily Item said — was seen making her way through the crowd and approaching Jean-Jacques Jr. at another barrier.

Left to right, circled: Ernst Jean-Jacques, Jr., Linda GreenbergImage source: YouTube screenshot

Video appears to show Greenberg toss water on Jean-Jacques, after which he looks around and then appears to punch Greenberg.

Video shows Jean-Jacques' elbow cocked slightly, but his forward motion is obscured by others in the video, so it's not clear if he made contact with Greenberg. But the horrified reaction of others in the clip seems to reveal Greenberg sustained some pain.

Multiple police officers described Jean-Jacques as "punching" Greenberg after they witnessed "water propel from where Greenberg was standing," the paper said.

Jean-Jacques left the scene after the apparent punch, but the Daily Item said police caught up with him and took him away in handcuffs.

But in the paper's follow-up story about Jean-Jacques' Monday arraignment, defense attorney Murat Erkan said Greenberg admitted to tossing water on Jean-Jacques in a police interview.

"I was drinking my water, and he was gyrating in front of me, and I was getting mad, and I did get water on him," Greenberg said in the interview, the Daily Item reported. "I don't want to lie."

The paper added that a bystander asked Greenberg if she agreed her conduct made her the aggressor, to which Greenberg replied, "Oh, why don't you f*** off ... You are not America, you are not America."

Now what?

The Daily Item said Jean-Jacques was released on $550 bail bond and that Greenberg refused medical assistance.

Prosecutor Danielle Doherty-Wirwicz at the arraignment asked that Jean-Jacques be declared a dangerous person, be banished from Swampscott, and be prohibited from contact with elderly persons, the paper said. But Judge Matthew Nestor — who described the case as "disturbing" — denied the prosecutor's requests, the Daily Item added.

The defense also argued, based on the video and additional still images, that Jean-Jacques was "attempting to disarm Greenberg of the bottle" and that he used an "open hand" rather than a fist, the paper said.

More from the Daily Item:

Erkan also brought up images of 1960s Birmingham, Ala., when police sprayed water on peaceful black Civil Rights protesters, and implied that Greenberg's splashing water on Jean-Jacques dehumanized him in that same manner.

Judge Nestor disagreed with the analogy.

Erkan indicated that he was speaking with authorities and expected to request that Greenberg be charged with a hate crime.

The defense also said Jean-Jacques has no record of prior convictions and works at a senior center caring for adults with intellectual disabilities, the paper said, adding that a pretrial hearing is set for February 24, 2021.

Anything else?

Jean-Jacques noted on his Facebook page that the Boston Red Sox honored him in August as part of the team's "Hats Off to Heroes" ceremony that usually honors members of the military.

The letter to Jean-Jacques read: "This year, with everything that has been going on in the country, we got permission from the presenting sponsor John Hancock to expand the breadth of the program ... So far this year we have recognized front-line health workers, other essential workers, military, a [woman] who spent her life fighting for civil rights and social justice. On Aug. 28 we are going to recognize an activist and pillar of their community, and I would absolutely love it if we could highlight you, for all that you do for [the] city and in the fight against social injustice."

Left-wing protester — who's also a convicted felon — arrested after pointing gun at Louisville motorist

Sometimes those peaceful, gun-shunning leftists can surprise you.

Seems one of them who took part in a Louisville protest march Friday evening pointed a gun at a motorist — and to top it off, the arrestee is a convicted felon, WDRB-TV reported.

What are the details?

Louisville Metro Police on Saturday released video taken from a police helicopter that was circling over the march, and it shows a woman — identified as Robin Ash — pointing a gun at the driver of a dark gray Ford Taurus, the station said.

Ash is facing charges of wanton endangerment, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and criminal mischief, WDRB reported, citing court records.

But others at the scene defended Ash, saying the driver pointed a gun at demonstrators first, the station said.

In the police video, which contains no sound, the car in question is traveling in the opposite direction from the march — and one protester appears to be standing in the left-hand turn lane the car enters.

The car comes to a stop after passing the protester, and that's when the trouble starts.

Several protesters approach the car, including a woman who pulls out a gun and points it at the motorist.

After another protester appears to intervene, the woman who pointed the gun walks away from the scene and seems to place something in her pocket or waistband.

Others remained near the car and WDRB said one person appears to kick the vehicle while other protesters try to get the crowd away. The police video shows the car drive a short distance down the street before it comes to a stop, and the station said the driver exits the car as police gather around the vehicle and protesters continue to move forward.

Another video, another story

Sheri Wright took her own video of the march and posted a clip of the incident involving the car on her Facebook page, WDRB said — and at a Sunday news conference at the Kentucky Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, she said the motorist "tried to run over protesters."

Wright's video shows the Ford Taurus drive closely past at least two people marching in the street before coming to a stop, the station said.

More from WDRB:

As Wright approaches the car, video shows the man behind the wheel pulling out a gun and pointing it at the demonstrators near his car. Ash is not seen approaching the car in Wright's video, which is focused on the driver's window.

Wright follows the car as it moves a few feet down the road, and her video shows the man get out of the car and again point a gun at protesters as he inspects a dent in his vehicle. The man then gestures in the direction of police, who are seen moments later moving the crowd away from the vehicle.

Here's Wright's video. (Content warning: Language):

"What do you do when somebody threatens you with a gun? You know, you run or you defend — fight or flight," Wright said, according to the station. "So I'm not going to knock anyone who felt her life was threatened, because I certainly felt my life was threatened, as did everyone there."

She added to WDRB that police "surrounded themselves around this man and his vehicle in a protective fashion."

"It seems very one-sided as far as where LMPD interjects itself into a conflict," Wright also noted to the station. "From my observation, they want to protect the people who are opposed to the protesters against police brutality. I've seen this over and over and over again."

What did police have to say?

Sgt. Lamont Washington said in a statement that the motorist wasn't arrested because he was a victim in the incident, WDRB said.

"LMPD released the video to show the whole story," Washington added to the station. "A still photo or single angle often doesn't do that. No charges are expected of the driver whose name will not be released since he was the victim."
