Dems say census should ask about your sexual orientation (but not whether you’re an American citizen because that’s racist)

Democratic senators Kamala Harris, Calif., and Tom Carper, Del., introduced a bill on Tuesday that would require the U.S. Census Bureau to ask about the sexual orientation and gender identity of polled citizens, The Hill reported Tuesday.

The Democrats, who attacked of the inclusion of a citizenship question on the 2020 census for being “disgusting, immoral and hypocritical,” would require the bureau to add questions regarding sexual orientation and gender identity to the census by 2030, and to the American Community Survey by 2020.

While the information of whether or not a person counted in the census was a legal resident of the United States was derided for violating civil rights, Senator Harris said in a statement that collecting information on the sexual orientation and gender identity of the same people would “provide us with better tools to enforce civil rights protections for a community that is too often discriminated against.”

Liberal logic: the question is really only discriminatory if it’s a conservative asking it.
