Gun control proponents pounce on Republican senator after Nashville shooting

Leftists pounced on GOP Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee after the lawmaker issued a statement reacting to the deadly school shooting perpetrated at a Christian school in Nashville on Monday.

The shooter, who killed three children and three adults at The Covenant School, was fatally shot by police.

"Chuck & I are heartbroken to hear about the shooting at Covenant School in Nashville," Blackburn tweeted. "My office is in contact with federal, state, & local officials, & we stand ready to assist. Thank you to the first responders working on site. Please join us in prayer for those affected."

California Gov. Gavin Newsom responded to Blackburn's post by calling on the senator to approve "commonsense gun laws."

"You received $1,306,130 in donations from the NRA. You voted against the most recent bipartisan gun package in June. If you're so 'ready to assist' -- start by doing your job and passing commonsense gun laws that will help prevent tragedies like the one today," Newsom tweeted.

Democratic Rep. Jimmy Gomez of California claimed that Blackburn does not care about doing anything to protect children, tweeting, "0. That's how many f— you give when it comes to actually doing something to protect our kids."

“Hey @MarshaBlackburn here are some numbers for you:

$1,306,130. That’s how much money you received from the NRA.

129. That’s how many mass shootings there have been this year.

0. That’s how many f— you give when it comes to actually doing something to protect our kids.”
— Rep. Jimmy Gomez (@Rep. Jimmy Gomez) 1679959837

Gun control activist David Hogg, who was a student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, when a mass shooting was perpetrated there in 2018, suggested that Blackburn and others have enabled school shootings to occur.

"Let me re write that for you. Chuck & I are heartbroken to hear about the shooting at Covenant School in Nashville that was enabled by NRA puppets like me who are willing to let kids be f[***]ing slaughtered so long as the NRA continues giving me millions," Hogg replied to Blackburn's post.

Blackburn is calling for increased security at schools to protect students.

“We must take steps to protect our children by increasing the number of school safety officers.”

Trans activist claims (now deleted) call to assassinate SCOTUS justices was just 'Gen Z/millennial humor'

Following the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, a transgender activist called for a "Supreme Court Assassination Challenge" on Twitter, according to screenshots captured of the now-deleted tweet.

Activist Eli Erlick, a founding member of Trans Student Educational Resources (TSER) and creator of the controversial "gender identity" teaching tool for children called the "Gender Unicorn," tweeted and later deleted the disturbing remark on Friday, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) also caught a screenshot of the tweet before it was deleted.

"The unhinged radical left is calling for the assassination of our Supreme Court Justices. That's not the way to disagree with a decision in America. It is unacceptable, and Biden’s DOJ must immediately act," Blackburn responded on Twitter.

Erlich then tried to play off her call to assassinate Supreme Court justices as a hilarious joke only Gen Z and Millennials would understand, apparently not understanding the seriousness of the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh just three weeks ago.

“@MarshaBlackburn I’m honored to be part of your fantasy of the “unhinged left.” You not understanding the most basic tenants of Gen Z/millennial humor makes a lot of sense, though. Also, remember when you rallied your followers to kill Mike Pence?”

“@EliErlick @MarshaBlackburn Do you live in a cave? Do you realize what came out of Jan 6th and the money, time, accusations, solitary confinement, etc. as a result? Maybe that was just humor? You can't have it both ways. Dig that hole deeper. Nobody believes your excuses.”

Erlick isn't the only Left-winger to make incendiary calls since the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision. Here are just a few examples:

 • Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) called on people to “defy" the Supreme Court.
 • Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) called for people to get “into the streets” alongside radical communist leader who wants to 'overthrow' the American system.
 • Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) yelled "F*** Clarence Thomas" on a public stage for all to see and hear.
 • House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) suggested that Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh lied to Congress.
 • And of course, "TheView" host Whoopi Goldberg issued a disgusting racist threat toward Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Filling in for Glenn Beck on the radio program, BlazeTV hosts Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere took a look at these and other stunning examples of leftist lunacy over the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

GOP lawmakers enraged as Biden secretly buses, flies migrants into Tennessee in 'the dead of night’

Republican lawmakers in Tennessee are demanding answers in response to shocking news that the Biden administration is secretly busing and flying scores of illegal immigrants into the state.

What are the details?

Reports that the Biden administration has been moving thousands of unaccompanied minors and tens of thousands of migrant adults — presumably without court dates — into the country amid the ongoing border crisis have circulated since February. But this week the news hit home for Tennessee lawmakers who, alarmed that the administration is seemingly doing so "under the cover of darkness," have opted to speak out about the matter.

After WRCB-TV broke the story on Wednesday night that "Chattanooga's Wilson Air Center is receiving planes carrying migrant children who are being bused to multiple southeastern cities during overnight hours," the state's two Republican senators lashed out at the administration.

"It is absolutely unacceptable if the Biden Administration is facilitating a mass migration under cover of darkness without any input or oversight from Tennesseans and the affected communities," Sen. Marsha Blackburn wrote in a social media post Wednesday night.

In a statement to Fox News, Sen. Bill Hagerty said, "I have warned for months that President Biden's failure at the border would result in a systematic resettling of migrants in our communities, burdening our schools, hospitals, and law enforcement agencies, and bringing an increase in drug trafficking and human smuggling."

WRCB-TV reported that they have obtained videos of at least four flights arriving in the early morning hours between last Friday and Wednesday.

The news outlet noted that a source with direct knowledge of the operation who asked to remain anonymous reported that "approximately 30 to 50 minors are transported at a time, some to reunite with family members and others to go to group homes."

The source reportedly added that "the operation started in Dallas, Texas, but moved to small airports recently to avoid attention."

What else?

A spokesperson for the airport denied any involvement in coordinating the operation. So WRCB-TV, based on a tip from one of the bus employees, reached out to the Department of Defense, which in turn claimed that the flights were operated by the Department of Health and Human Services.

TheBlaze has reached out to the Department of Health and Services for clarity on the matter.

One thing that does appear to be clear at this point is that Tennessee lawmakers were not informed about the operation.

In a separate statement to Fox News, Blackburn reportedly stated that the transportation of migrants is taking place in "the dead of night without the knowledge or permission of the communities involved."

Earlier this month, in a letter to President Joe Biden, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee (R) joined a coalition of fellow Republican governors in calling for the administration to address the immigration crisis, which they claimed was affecting all states, not only those at the border.

Fox News reporter corners Jen Psaki with Biden's own words about lifting COVID restrictions: 'Neanderthal thinking'

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy confronted White House press secretary Jen Psaki on Friday over the timing of new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lifting face mask restrictions for fully vaccinated Americans.

What is the background?

Republicans accused the Biden administration of rolling out new guidance on Thursday — that allows fully vaccinated Americans to return to normal life — to score political brownie points.

"Why today? The science hasn't changed," Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) said.

Why today? The science hasn’t changed.

— Sen. Marsha Blackburn (@MarshaBlackburn) 1620932581.0

"While the new mask guidance is encouraging, the CDC and my Far Radical Left colleagues only chose to do this to distract from the consequences of catastrophic policy decisions that have been heard around the world," Rep. Andy Biggs, chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, said.

"Inflation is rising, the Middle East is in shambles, the working class can't fill up their gas tanks, our border is being overrun and the Biden Administration's leadership is nowhere to be found," he added.

What happened at the press briefing?

Not only did Doocy question whether the new guidance was politically motivated, but he confronted Psaki with President Joe Biden's own words in March about lifting pandemic-related restrictions.

In March, Biden accused Texas and Mississippi of "Neanderthal thinking" after those states decided to lift pandemic-related restrictions and rescind mask mandates.

Noting that fewer than half of American adults are fully vaccinated, Doocy asked, "So, what happened to President Biden saying in March that he thought lifting mask mandates before every adult American goes and gets a shot is 'Neanderthal thinking?'"

In response, Psaki said science has been the government's "North Star," and she denied claims that the CDC's new guidance was politically motivated.

Well, first, let me say that the president— our North Star has been listening to the guidance of our health and medical experts and teams, and that's exactly what we're doing in this case. And just to reiterate: The CDC — the doctors and medical experts there — were the ones who determined what this guidance would be, based on their own data, and what the timeline would be. That was not a decision directed by, made by the White House. The White House was informed of that decision, just to give people assurance of that.

Because Psaki did not directly address Doocy's question, the Fox News reporter doubled down, asking again if Biden still believes states like Texas and Mississippi — those that reopened months ago — are guilty of "Neanderthal thinking?"

Pskai, however, did not directly address Biden's words in her response.

Well, again, I would say that even with this guidance that's out there, the guidance is not telling states and localities exactly how they should implement. As you know, there are some localities and states in the country that have higher rates of vaccination than others, some communities that have higher rates of vaccinations than others. And we even know, as this is being implemented, that different localities, businesses will implement it in the way that they feel will help ensure their community is safe.

But I know I am reassured by listening to the guidance of health and medical experts, not political decision-making. So, that's the point we're at now.
