Fighting media corruption: Movie star Matthew Marsden explores cancel culture's impact

The media landscape has changed dramatically with the emergence of the 24-hour news cycle and the internet. Several problems have arisen like never before, including an over-saturation of information and decreased audience attention spans. What’s more, the media has grown increasingly biased and hostile to dissident views, working to shape the way people think and act. What can be done to break out of this constant immersion in this environment?

On “Zero Hour,” Matthew Marsden — actor, singer, and producer — sat down with James Poulos to discuss the media landscape and cancel culture.

Marsden and Poulos discussed the COVID-19 vaccines and their coverage by the media. Despite evidence to the contrary, the media didn’t change its stance on pushing for the vaccine. It also tried to discredit and silence opposition, which reveals a difference between the media and conservatives: “What’s fatal to us conservatives is not knowing the truth. ... They don’t [care]. ... For them, it’s fatal to be wrong.” COVID was just one example of this trend: “They will come after you and try to destroy you if you don’t say the right thing.”

They also talked about the media’s politicization: “The problem with not having a fair media, an objective media, is now, everything’s muddled. ... It’s become so politicized that we just don’t know any more, and that’s a real loss.”

Concerning cancel culture, Marsden urges everyone to slow down and use caution in making judgments against people in the news: “Wait a minute, we have to take all of this into consideration. ... You would hate to be the victim of something and have it be dismissed; conversely, you’d hate to be the guy that was falsely accused.”

America was convinced tech would complete our mastery of the world. Instead, we got catastrophe — constant crises from politics and the economy down to the spiritual fiber of our being. Time’s up for the era we grew up in. How do we pick ourselves up and begin again? To find out, visionary author and media theorist James Poulos cracks open the minds — and hearts — of today’s top figures in politics, tech, ideas, and culture on "Zero Hour" on BlazeTV.

Are Democrats SERIOUSLY considering ‘DEI hire’ Kamala Harris for president?

After Joe Biden’s disastrous first debate, Democrats are scrambling to figure out who will lead them into the 2024 election.

Vice President Kamala Harris is a contender, but as Sara Gonzales highlights, she’s not a good one. To put it simply, Gonzales calls her “one of the worst DEI hires.”

“This whole thing imploding with Joe Biden, an old white man, and Kamala Harris, who everyone knows cannot handle the job, but they’re afraid to be like, ‘Well, how do you jump over Kamala? Because you guys sold her as like the first black, the first woman, the first, what, Indonesian?’” Gonzales says.

Understandably, this is causing a rift between Democrats.

“Now they are in this position where there’s a lot of infighting, because they’ve just sold all these DEI measures as, like, the most important qualifications for the job,” Gonzales says, noting that Stephen A. Smith recently had a delegate on his show who illustrates her point perfectly.

“There’s a long list of Democrats: Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer. The list goes on, and on, and on,” the delegate, who is a black woman, tells Stephen. “If you pick a white man over Kamala Harris, black women, I can tell you this, we gonna walk away, we gonna blow the party up.'”

“Democrats, you’ve done it to yourselves,” Gonzales comments.

“You radicalize all of these people on all of these initiatives, and then they’re mad that you’re not going far enough against Israel, and they’re not going to vote for you. You radicalize these people on climate change, and they’re mad that you still use, you know, private jets, and they’re not going to vote for you,” she continues.

While it’s a complete mess, Gonzales doesn’t mind.

“‘If you don’t choose her, we’re going to blow the party up.’ I love this. I can’t wait to watch that happen,” she says.

Congress wants women FORCED into the military draft to fight its endless wars

Is the government trying to draft our daughters? After the House of Representatives passed an updated version of the National Defense Authorization Act last week, it seems the answer is a resounding “yes.”

The act allows the U.S. government to automatically register men aged 18 to 25 into the Selective Service, but the Senate Armed Forces Committee has since created a version that would extend eligibility for the draft to women starting in 2025.

The bill was approved by a 22-3 vote and is now advancing to the Senate for consideration.

“Congratulations, feminists, you fought for all this equality, you wanted to pretend like men and women were no different, and now, they want to send your sons and your daughters to die in endless wars,” Sara Gonzales says, disturbed.

While Gonzales doesn’t have any daughters of her own, only sons, she says “over my dead body will they be going to war.”

“Are you telling me that you don’t want your sons to die for transgenderism in Ukraine?” Logan Hall asks, unfortunately only half-joking.

“That is what I’m telling you,” Gonzales responds, adding, “We can’t even defend our own border here in this country, but you want me to talk about sending my son to go die for Ukraine’s border? Absolutely not.”

Hall notes that this is all happening after the government kicked its own members out of the military for refusing to inject themselves with the COVID vaccine.

“They kicked a ton of soldiers out of the army for not taking this experimental vaccine,” Hall says, adding, “they’ve put these transgender admirals in charge, they’ve alienated their fighters. It’s like what other reason would you want to do this for other than to destroy the country?”

'It's over for him' RFK Jr. is pro-full-term abortion, had a BRAIN WORM

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. revealed a bizarre medical diagnosis this past week — in 2010, a parasitic brain worm had gotten into Kennedy’s brain, ate some of it, and then died.

While the story is terrifying, it might explain his views on abortion.

“I wouldn’t leave it up to the states,” RFK said on a recent podcast. “We should leave it to the woman, we shouldn’t have government involved even if it’s full-term.”

Sara Gonzales is disgusted.

“There’s just one small problem, it’s not her body. It’s the baby's, who is, of course, a living, breathing human,” Gonzales says, noting that if the baby is full-term, it could at that point survive on its own.

“You just deliver the baby and you deliver it alive instead of dead, that’s how this process works,” she continues, adding, “he is clearly advocating for murder of babies. I don’t see any other way to describe that.”

Matthew Marsden believes this might be the end of his campaign.

“I don’t know what to say about this,” Marsden says, adding, “It’s over for him. I mean, that’s just a horrendous position to take.”

Pro-abortion ad is SO STUPID you'd think it's a joke

California Governor Gavin Newsom has launched a new pro-abortion ad this week, and it’s so cringeworthy and full of nonsense that it's almost painful to watch.

“Alabama’s abortion ban has no exceptions for rape or incest. Now, Republicans are trying to criminalize young women’s travel to receive abortion care. We cannot let them get away with this,” Newsom wrote in a tweet on X that accompanied his ad.

The ad shows two young women attempting to cross state lines when they’re pulled over and asked to take a pregnancy test by a police officer.

“This isn’t parody, okay. This isn’t SNL. This is an actual ad released unironically from Gavin Newsom on abortion,” Sara Gonzales says, shocked.

“These people are not serious people,” she adds.

“What are you thinking, you colossal bunch of morons?” Matthew Marsden agrees, “but it’s California.”

The ad was released as Newsom is set to propose legislation to make it easier for women from Arizona to seek abortions in California and offer Arizona abortion providers an expedited way to get licensed in California.

“They’re preparing to accept an influx of patients from these women who are escaping these mean red states who are making it harder for them to kill their babies. Those mean conservatives who just want it to be like 'The Handmaid's Tale,'” Gonzales mocks.

“It’s just that, like, it’s a live human being inside of you, and we’d prefer it to be alive,” she adds.

Canceled doctor discusses new movie exposing alleged lies about mumps vaccine with BlazeTV's Sara Gonzales

Sara Gonzales, host of BlazeTV's "Sara Gonzales Unfiltered," sits down with a British doctor who was canceled decades ago because he dared to question a common vaccine.

In 1993, Andrew Wakefield was a doctor specializing in gastroenterology in London when he began to have doubts about the childhood vaccine known as MMR, which stands for measles, mumps, and rubella. Around that time, Wakefield claimed parents began contacting him, complaining that their children began showing frightening symptoms following their MMR vaccination.

"I started getting calls from parents saying, 'My child was perfectly well. They had speech and language interaction with their siblings, they were developing normally healthy, and then they had an MMR vaccine, and they had a seizure and they were never the same again," Wakefield recalled to Gonzales.

Those children were often then diagnosed with autism, prompting concerns about a possible link between vaccinations in general and autism. But Wakefield did not want parents to ditch vaccines altogether. Rather, he wanted children to receive three separate vaccines — one for measles, mumps, and rubella — perhaps a year apart.

The British government took a different view, Wakefield claimed. "If we allowed parents the choice [to have separate vaccines], it would destroy our MMR program," officials allegedly told Wakefield.

Merck, the pharmaceutical company which manufactures MMR, likewise withdrew the individual vaccines in the U.S., he said.

The retaliation against Wakefield was swift and fierce. He eventually lost his medical license and was shunned by many in the medical community. Wakefield chronicled his fight against MMR in the 2016 documentary "Vaxxed: From Cover-up to Catastrophe."

Wakefield has now directed a second feature film about vaccines called "Protocol-7." The title, he told Gonzales, relates to the protocol apparently used by Merck to mislead parents about the efficacy of its mumps vaccine. "It is a way of misrepresenting the results — which they ultimately give to the FDA — that ... seeks to show that their vaccine is doing something that they say on the product-insert it's doing, but in reality is not doing," he explained.

"Protocol-7" stars Rachel G. Whittle as Lexi Koprowski, a small-town lawyer who begins demanding answers after her adoptive son starts evincing signs of autism following a mumps vaccination. The case against Merck, which she initiated, has been tied up in the courts for nearly 15 years.

Actor Matthew Marsden, who plays Dr. Jay in the movie, also joined Wakefield and Gonzales to discuss his role as well as his experiences in Hollywood after he chose not to take the COVID vaccine a few years ago, claiming he was treated as "the antichrist" and "an idiot."

Though the lockdowns and vaccine mandates were a dark period in recent memory, Wakefield believes the alleged lies surrounded the COVID vaccines will ultimately prove to be Big Pharma's "biggest mistake." "When I started, there were a handful of people worldwide who were prepared to talk about [problems with vaccines]," he said. "Now, ... more than half the adult population of the world are refusing to take the booster doses of the [COVID] vaccine."

Marsden agreed. "I think that if ever a good thing could have come out of COVID, it's that people are more receptive to movies like ['Protocol 7], that they will listen to other people's stories," he claimed.

Wakefield also wants to encourage parents to trust their instincts regarding vaccines and other forms of medical treatment for their children. "[The] main element of the movie was about the power of a mother's intuition," Wakefield said.

"She has to trust in her innate instinct as a mother to do what is best for her child and by proxy every child in the world."

"Protocol-7" is expected to be released soon.

"It is explosive," Gonzales said of "Protocol-7." "It's going to make your blood boil, but it is information that you need to know."

'Reacher' actor loses role over vaccination status, says Hollywood cancels conservatives but seeks out liberals like Ron Perlman

"Reacher" actor Matthew Marsden believes Hollywood penalizes actors who have conservative politics, but rewards performers who are liberals. Marsden also revealed that he lost a job because he is not vaccinated against COVID-19.

Marsden alleged that conservative actors get canceled by Hollywood.

"Conservatives in Hollywood speak up against tyranny, and we get canceled," Marsden tweeted on Saturday. "The phone stops ringing. That’s all they have to do."

Marsden said liberal actors such as Mark Ruffalo, Ron Pearlman, and Sean Penn benefit by broadcasting their political beliefs.

Marsden wrote, "Ruffalo, Pearlman, and Penn say all kinds of stuff and nothing happens to them. In fact, they will be sought out because of their 'brave stances.'"

Perlman has been extremely vocal about his disdain for conservatives. Perlman launched an expletive-laden rant against Ron DeSantis in March, besmirching the Republican Florida governor as a "Nazi pig" and a piece of s**t." In 2020, Perlman called Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) a "b*tch" and challenged Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) to a wrestling match. The "Hellboy" actor previously proclaimed that blue states should "separate" from red states.

Marsden then stated, "The fact is that conservatives that speak out are not supported by their 'team.' You get canceled it’s on you."

He claimed that leftist Hollywood players all band together to help each other financially, morally, and with public relations.

Marsden declared, "This is why more don’t speak out. We abandon our own. It has to change."

“The fact is that conservatives that speak out are not supported by their “ team”. You get cancelled, it’s on you. You get attacked on the left, and your team rushes to help you. Financially. Morally. With PR. This is why more don’t speak out. We abandon our own. It has to change.”
— Matthew Marsden (@Matthew Marsden) 1670683093

Marsden – who was born in England and is an American citizen – said he lost a job because of a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The actor noted that he is "aware of the risks involved" with not being vaccinated against COVID-19, but is firmly against COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

He added, "I lost a job last week because I am unvaccinated and I will not lie about it."

Marsden did not reveal what project he lost because of his vaccination status.

Marsden continued, "If more people stood up in Hollywood, or any other profession and said 'no' then these vaccine mandates would have gone away."

"It is the same on Twitter. The trolls know they can push you around. It is never going to end," he tweeted on Thursday. "No one forces you to post politically. Your choice."

Marsden noted that differing political opinions are not a disqualifying factor in a friendship.

He quoted Thomas Jefferson, "I never considered a difference of opinion in politics, in religion, in philosophy, as cause for withdrawing from a friend."

Marsden's Hollywood credits include "Tenet," "Atlas Shrugged," and "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

“In Hollywood, or any other profession and said “ no” then these vaccine mandates would have gone away. It is the same on twitter. The trolls know they can push you around. It is never going to end. No one forces you to post politically. Your choice.”
