Sage Steele says her 2021 Biden interview was ‘heavily scripted’ by ESPN execs, but the sports network likely wasn’t the head of the snake

Former ESPN journalist Sage Steele, who’s now an independent podcaster, has revealed that her 2021 interview with Joe Biden was “heavily scripted.”

“It was so structured, and I was told, ‘You will say every word that we write out. You will not deviate from this script,’” she told Fox News in an interview, adding that “every single question was scripted and gone over dozens of times by many executives.”

“I knew that this was a lot bigger than just the wonderful editors that I worked with. This went up to the ‘fourth floor,’ as we said, where all the bosses, the top executives, [and] the decision-makers are,” she continued.

“I think it's obvious to anyone paying attention why ESPN executives needed her to stick to the script when interviewing the dementia patient in chief, seeing as the network decided years ago to just carry water for the Democrats no matter the cost,” says Sara Gonzales.

BlazeTV contributor Matthew Marsden, however, thinks the ESPN execs who were puppeteering Sage’s interview with the president aren't where the chain of command stopped.

“Who is ESPN owned by?” he asks.

For those who don’t know, the answer is Disney.

“Interesting,” says Marsden. “It’s almost as if there are these conglomerates that have a vested interest in the Democratic Party.”

“I’ll go one further on that same line,” says Jason Buttrill, “dedicated interest in propaganda.”

“If you’re writing the script, you’re not allowing a journalist to be a journalist and get information out. You’re just spewing propaganda,” he continues.

So what’s making the majority of these journalists so willing to regurgitate the leftist narrative? Is it because they genuinely believe in left-wing ideologies?

According to Marsden, some probably do buy into the wokeism, but many others are just “scared of losing their jobs.”

As an actor, “I know all about that,” he says. “If you stray away from the narrative, you get canceled, and then once you get canceled, you can't get any more work so then you're out there working at Trader Joe's.”

Jen Psaki heckled for ignoring questions 'across the room' during her last White House press briefing

White House press secretary Jen Psaki’s final briefing with the White House press pool was rather chaotic on Friday as one reporter took the opportunity to heckle the resigning press secretary.

As Paski emotionally began to thank members of the Biden administration and to take questions from the crowd, Simon Ateba, the chief White House correspondent for Today News Africa, could be heard yelling from the back of the press briefing room, the New York Post reported.

As Associated Press reporter Zeke Miller attempted to start the briefing by asking Psaki about the ongoing baby formula shortage, Ateba shouted, “Why don’t you take questions from across the room?”

After Psaki did not acknowledge his statement, Ateba shouted, “Why don’t you take questions from across the room? Because that’s not what you’ve done for the past 15 months.”

Psaki did not appear phased by Ateba’s lack of briefing room decorum, but the chaos continued as Ateba resumed shouting over his colleagues just minutes later.

He was heard repeatedly saying: “Jen, can I ask you a question from the back?”

As Ateba’s interruptions continued, his colleagues in the press briefing room grew increasingly frustrated. NPR’s Tamara Keith turned around in her seat and urged him to desist from heckling.

“Simon, please, stop,” she could be heard saying.

Nevertheless, Ateba’s crusade continued as his persistently shouted over other reporters as they asked Psaki questions.

Finally having enough, Psaki turned to him and said, “Simon, if you can respect your colleagues and other media and reporters in here, that would be greatly appreciated.”

After Ateba’s vocal protest settled down, Peter Alexander from NBC News said that he would voluntarily limit himself to only asking two questions so that his colleagues would have more time to pose inquiries to the resigning press secretary. Historically, White House reporters have adhered to an informal norm of limiting exchanges with the administration’s spokesperson to two questions.

Ateba and Psaki have come to blows multiple times before the former’s Friday outbursts.

Psaki has long been criticized for strictly taking questions from reporters in the first few rows of the briefing room, often excluding foreign media outlets like Ateba’s.

In December, Ateba shouted over his colleagues as he accused Psaki of lying to the media about coronavirus related travel restrictions.

“You are saying something that is false,” Ateba shouted at Psaki.

Ateba has also previously accused various COVID-19 travel restrictions of being “racist” and has a history of interrupting White House briefing guests.

WATCH: Glenn Greenwald annihilates Joe Rogan's media critics in just one minute

Journalist Glenn Greenwald summed up the real cause for all the media vitriol toward Joe Rogan in about one minute during an appearance on Fox News' "Media Buzz."

"The ability to control information is an incredibly powerful instrument that everyone who tries to obtain it wants to safeguard," Greenwald told host Howard Kurtz.

"What you see with Joe Rogan is he's built an enormous audience, bigger than essentially everybody on television, an audience that's young and ideologically diverse. And he does often question and dissent from the pieties they're attempting to implant in the minds of so many people. And as their ratings decline and their audience evaporates, they're looking to censorship as one of the ways to maintain this stranglehold on our discourse."

He added, "There's a huge component of a kind of resentment on the part of this insular class and liberal enclaves — that nobody else is entitled to have influence."

On “The Rubin Report” Tuesday, BlazeTV host Dave Rubin said Greenwald, though a "lefty," is one of the few people making sense on this whole Joe Rogan controversy.

WATCH: This is why Eric Weinstein is FINALLY talking to Glenn Beck

Eric Weinstein, managing director of investment firm Thiel Capital and host of "The Portal" podcast, is not a conservative, but he says conservative and center-right-affiliated media are the only ones who will still allow oppositional voices.

On "The Glenn Beck Podcast" this week, Eric told Glenn that the center-left media, which "controls the official version of events for the country," once welcomed him, but that all changed about eight years ago when they started avoiding any kind of criticism by branding those who disagree with them as "alt-right, far-right, neo-Nazi, etc.," even if they are coming from the left side of the aisle. But their efforts to discredit critical opinions don't stop there. According to Eric, there is a strategy being employed to destroy our national culture and make sure Americans with opposing views do not come together.

"We're trifling with the disillusionment of our national culture. And our national culture is what animates the country. If we lose the culture, the documents will not save us," Eric said. "I have a very strongly strategic perspective, which is that you save things up for an emergency. Well, we're there now."

In the clip below, Eric explains why, after many requests over the last few years, he finally agreed to this podcast.
