‘That’s Enormous’: Steve Kornacki Describes Massive ‘Gender Gap’ Between Trump, Harris In New Poll
'That is a 33-point gender gap'
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is not shying away from the truth.
As the legacy media try to rehabilitate Vice President Kamala Harris' far-left record, Sanders told NBC News on Sunday that any distance Harris tries to create between her policy proposals and her actual political views is nothing more than a ruse.
'I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election.'
"You have described Vice President Kamala Harris as a progressive. She has previously supported Medicare for all. Now, she does not. She's previously supported a ban on fracking. Now, she does not. These, Senator, are ideas that you have campaigned on. Do you think that she is abandoning her progressive ideals?" moderator Kristen Welker asked Sanders.
"No, I don't think she's abandoning her ideals," Sanders revealed.
In fact, Sanders believes that Harris is publicly downplaying her actual views to win the election, all in the name of pragmatics.
"I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election," he said.
When Welker followed up, asking Sanders if he believes that Harris remains a progressive despite policy flip-flops that happened only after she became the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, Sanders confirmed that he doesn't believe Harris has actually changed.
"Do you still consider Vice President Kamala Harris to be progressive, Senator?" Welker queried.
"I do," he said.
The problem with Harris' "pragmatic" shift to the center is that her record speaks for itself.
Not only is Harris a San Francisco liberal, but her four-year tenure in the U.S. Senate earned her the distinction of being more liberal than Sanders, a self-described "democratic socialist."
Americans, moreover, don't need Sanders to remind them that Harris has not changed. She herself admitted in an interview last month that her "values have not changed."
"I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed," she told CNN.
After nearly two months in the race, Harris' campaign finally has released a comprehensive set of policy proposals on her campaign website. Harris is running on a "New Way Forward" agenda, never mind the fact that she has been vice president for almost four years and Democrats have controlled the White House for 12 of the last 16 years.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) called out NBC News on Sunday for its one-sided crusade against Republicans to "protect democracy."
On Sunday, Rubio appeared on "Meet the Press," where host Kristen Welker asked him if he would serve as Donald Trump's vice president before interviewing him about policy issues, like abortion and immigration.
'You have Democrats now saying they won't certify 2024 because Trump is an insurrectionist and ineligible to hold office. So you need to ask them.'
But the interview turned sour when Welker made a hard pivot and whipped out a trite question: "Will you accept the election results of 2024, no matter what happens, senator?"
Clearly annoyed with the question, Rubio questioned its premise before saying that he believes the 2024 election could be contested by Republicans or Democrats "if it's an unfair election."
"You're asking the wrong person. The Democrats are the ones that have opposed every Republican victory since 2000 — every single one," Rubio answered. "Hillary Clinton said the election was stolen from her and that Trump was illegitimate."
In response, Welker defended Hillary Clinton and Democrats before repeating the question.
"No Democrat has refused to concede. Hillary Clinton conceded," Welker defended. "Senator, will you accept the election results?"
"[Clinton] said that Trump was illegitimate. She said that the election had been stolen. Kamala Harris agreed," Rubio shot back. "By the way, there are Democrats serving in Congress today who, in 2004, voted not to certify the Ohio electors because they said those machines had been tampered with. And you have Democrats now saying they won't certify 2024 because Trump is an insurrectionist and ineligible to hold office. So you need to ask them."
As Welker talked over Rubio to say repeatedly that Clinton "conceded," Rubio cornered the NBC News anchor with an obvious question.
"Have you ever asked the Democrats this question on the show?" he asked Welker.
Welker, however, refused to answer the question.
Instead, she tried to pivot the interview and use Rubio's words against Trump, suggesting the former president has a history of "undermining Americans' confidence in democracy."
But Rubio wasn't playing those games.
"What undermines elections is when NBC News and every major news outlet in America in 2020 censored the [Hunter] Biden laptop story, which turned out to be true — not Russian misinformation. Unprecedented," the senator fired back.
Once again Welker went on the defense, saying NBC covered the Hunter Biden laptop story. But a quick Google search shows the outlet only covered the story in a way that was favorable to the Bidens in the run-up to the election.
The interview ended without Welker saying if she has or would ever ask a Democrat if he or she will accept the results of the 2024 election.

Despite narrowly escaping impeachment last week, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas still refuses to accept any of the blame for America’s border crisis.
Dave Rubin plays the clip of Mayorkas telling “Meet the Press’” Kristen Welker why the Biden administration is innocent.
“No doubt there is gridlock on Congress, but do you bear responsibility for what is happening at the border?” asked Welker, adding that even “the president himself” has called the issue “a crisis.”
“It certainly is a crisis, and, well, we don’t bear responsibility for a broken system,” Mayorkas responded. “We’re doing a tremendous amount within that broken system.”
“It’s not his fault; it's just a broken system,” mocks Dave, adding that “just weeks ago they were telling us that the system isn't broken and it's just these crazy right-wingers on YouTube that are making a big deal about this.”
Once enough people started talking about the undeniable border crisis, however, the administration was forced to respond. But of course its response is not to enforce the border laws that already exist but rather to pass a new bill that only furthers its agenda, especially overseas in Ukraine and Gaza.
“The White House is saying, ‘If you don't pass the bill that we want’ – which by the way we don't even need the bill in the first place because we already do have laws as it relates to the border … ’then we will have ICE stop doing its job,’” criticizes Dave.
“That is mafia-style tactics.”
