Michael Moore begs America: Vote for Kamala 'as a favor to me'

Tom Hanks has had enough of superhero films.

“I think there was a period of time, and I felt that way too, where we would see these fantastic movies, either DC or MCU, in order to see these better versions of ourselves,” Hanks told podcaster Josh Horowitz.

Ol’ Forrest knew what love was, but Hanks is a little lost on what makes audiences go to theaters these days.

“I think we’ve been down that road and had probably 20 years, 15 years, to explore that kind of thing, and now I think we’re in an evolutionary place of, ‘And the story is what? And the theme is what? And the point of this movie is what?'”

That may be true, but he’s not giving us much of a Plan B, is he?

Hanks’ latest, “Here,” reunites him with Jenny of “Forrest Gump” (Robin Wright) and director Robert Zemeckis (“Forrest Gump,” “Cast Away”). Critics skewered “Here,” and it made a paltry $4.8 million in its opening weekend.

The entire movie, which follows a nuclear family over the decades, is set in the clan’s living room. It’s like watching paint dry, but with a de-aged Hanks and Wright holding the brushes.

Ol’ Forrest knew what love was, but Hanks is a little lost on what makes audiences go to theaters these days …

'Captain' chaos

At what point will they stop shooting “Captain America: Brave New World”?

The next MCU project is heading to theaters in February, at least on paper. In the real world, the film has endured pricey reshoots to prep it for its cinematic close-up.

The movie technically wrapped in spring 2023, but scary test screenings coaxed Team Disney to bulk up the film. The first new footage came after a 22-day shoot earlier this year. The shoot reportedly added Giancarlo Esposito to the cast in an unnamed role and beefed up some action sequences.

Now, even more reshoots are under way, according to Esposito.

The MCU could use a hit after a string of woke duds. It’s no sure thing that “Brave New World” will end that losing streak, no matter how many times they go back to drawing board. The new film finds Anthony Mackie’s Falcon stepping into the famous red, white, and blue tights previously worn by Chris Evans.

As Evans’ Cap might say about the ongoing reshoots, “I could do this all day …”

Junket junked

Hollywood is having “contractions.”

The industry is in deep economic trouble. L.A.-based productions are down. The box office is running 11% below last year. And the streaming boom has been a bust, at least from a fiscal point of view.

The semi-annual TV Critics Association Winter 2025 Press Tour is the latest casualty. The event allows new and existing shows to promote their casts and storylines, offering panel chats and other promotional perks.

Not this time.

“As you know, Hollywood is in a deep contraction. While several streamers, networks, and studios committed, it was not enough for a full press tour,” said TCA President Jacqueline Cutler.

Meanwhile, many Hollywood stars are shoving their politics down the public’s throat as if consumers have short memories. Will Ferrell comically threatened his fans to vote for Harris … or else.

Is this any way to run a business?

Moore is less

Friends do plenty for their fellow friends. They help them move, watch their dogs when they’re on vacation, and, according to filmmaker Michael Moore, vote for their preferred candidate.

The far-left director pleaded with “non-voters” to get off the couch and vote for Kamala Harris on Election Day. He apparently thinks we’re all on a first-name basis. Is he gonna ask us to drive him to the airport next?

“Can I ask that you do it just as a favor for me? It really is that important to me,” he said of our potential Harris vote. “There is, honestly, too large of a part of me that believes we may be truly at our end.”

This column understands the comedic softball thrown our way, but we refuse to take the bait.

3 INSANE examples that prove the left is dividing America

If America seems more divided than ever, it might just be because that’s the goal of the left.

“The left unfortunately doesn’t realize they’re being used,” Glenn Beck explains, before pointing out three major examples of the left weaponizing division.

His first example is filmmaker Michael Moore, who is well known for his leftist positions and hatred of the right. In a segment on MSNBC, Moore told host Ayman Mohyeldin who the real enemies of Israel were.

“For the last 2,000 years, most of the persecution has come from white European-centric Christians,” Moore said. “That’s been your enemy. No Palestinian helped to build Auschwitz.”

“Your enemy is not the Palestinian people, it is white Christian European people who have been slaughtering Jews for the last 2,000 years,” he continued.

While Glenn concedes that there has been some well-documented persecution specifically in Germany, he points out that the Jews are currently going after Hamas — not even close to white — and that the ships turned away from America during the Holocaust were turned away at a Democrat's will.

Glenn’s second example also includes an MSNBC segment with Tom Schaller and Paul Waldman, who authored the book “White Rural Rage.”

“We lay out the four-fold, interconnected threat that white rural voters pose to the country,” Schaller says on “Morning Joe.”

“They are the most racist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant, anti-gay, geodemographic group in the country. Second, they’re the most conspiracist group, QAnon support and subscribers, election denialism, COVID denialism, scientific skepticism, Obama birtherism,” Schaller continues.

“They are painting half of the country as an enemy,” Glenn says, shocked.

FACT CHECK: Did Michael Moore Endorse Trump?

Michael Moore says voters stopped a 'fascist takeover' by caring more about abortion than crime or the price of milk

Filmmaker activist Michael Moore thanked the voters for caring more about abortion than crime or the price of milk so that they could stop a "fascist takeover" of expected Republican victories.

Moore wrote on his Substack account about the midterm elections that were a disappointment to Republicans expecting to pick up dozens of seats in the House of Representatives and maybe even a majority in the Senate.

We were lied to for months by the pundits and pollsters and the media. Voters had not “moved on” from the Supreme Court’s decision to debase and humiliate women by taking federal control over their reproductive organs. Crime was not at the forefront of the voters “simple” minds. Neither was the price of milk. It was their Democracy that they came to fight for yesterday. And because of that drive, we live to fight, and hope, for another day …

Moore mocked Republicans for their response to the early returns that showed they were likely to have an uphill battle to take control of even one house of Congress.

The looks on the faces of Fox News are glum. This was not what they — or we — have been told for months would happen. Back in the spring, Republican leadership predicted that the Trump Party would pick up nearly 60 seats in the House. It looks like they’ll be lucky to get 10. Commentators on Fox called it a “disaster.” One scenario suggests they could end up with just a one vote majority.

The activist was also thrilled that marijuana was legalized in two states, while abortion rights protections laws were passed in another five states.

In September, Moore predicted that there would be a "landslide" against Republicans and called them "traitors" over some voting against the certification of the victory of President Joe Biden.

Which party will ultimately have control over Congress will depend on pending ballot counts in several states, including New York and California.

One bright spot for Republicans was Florida, where Republicans Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sen. Marco Rubio won their reelection campaigns in landslides. Even progressive outlets had to reluctantly admit that DeSantis had transformed the former swing state into a firm red state.

Leftist Michael Moore predicts 'landslide' against 'Republican traitors' in November; 'Real Time' host Bill Maher replies, 'We are for all Americans on this show'

Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore embarked on a lengthy anti-Republican rant during his segment with "Real Time" host Bill Maher on Friday night, predicting a "landslide" in November's midterm elections against the "Republican traitors" who are "trying to tear the country down."

Maher reminded Moore after several minutes of the leftist's nonstop stumping that "we are for all Americans on this show."

What are the details?

"I have never felt this optimistic," Moore told Maher during the video interview.

Moore noted that the "Real Time" audience booed him after he correctly predicted former President Donald Trump would win the White House in 2016, but now Moore said he believes "the opposite's gonna happen" this coming November.

"I think that there is gonna be such a landslide against the traitors, especially against the 147 Republicans who just hours after the insurrection voted to not certify the elected president of the United States, Joe Biden, and I think that there is gonna be so many people coming out to vote," Moore said before sarcastically thanking the Supreme Court "for reminding women that they are, in fact, second-class citizens" in reference to the high court's Roe v. Wade overturn this summer.

Moore then pivoted to the surprising pro-abortion win in historically red state Kansas recently and the defeat of Republican Sarah Palin in a special election in Alaska for U.S. Senate before predicting a "massive turnout of women" that he said would turn the midterm tide in the Democrats' favor.

"There are so many signs of this that ... I honestly think if we all do our work, and if we all get people to get out there, and we get out there ourselves … I think we can throw out a huge number of these Republican traitors in November," Moore added to Maher.

According to Fox News, Moore also said there's a "good chance" there will be "two to five" new Democrat senators following the midterms and that the Democrats will keep control of the House of Representatives.

"So women, young people, and people of color are going to save the day, and we are going to be very happy the day after the election," Moore added to Maher, according to the cable network. "I think there's a real revolution — a non-violent revolution — going on in favor of democracy. People don't wanna lose it ..."

'We are for all Americans on this show'

After Moore's rant, which lasted well over four minutes, Maher poked fun at the filmmaker's long-windedness, and Moore replied, "I’m just excited. We’re gonna get rid of these people that are trying to tear the country down. We’re gonna get rid of them. I’m excited about it," according to Mediaite.

Maher replied, "You know, we have some Republicans watching this show ... we are for all Americans on this show," the outlet said.

Moore tried to squeeze in additional words, but Maher cut him off, Mediaite noted: "Yeah, I know, I know. Shut the f*** up. Shut up right now and answer one other question. Okay?"

Fox News said Moore's mood changed with a big sigh after Maher asked him about Biden's chances in 2024.

"Oh, suddenly you have nothing to say," Maher told Moore, according to the cable network.

"I feel for him," Moore responded, Fox News said. "I don't want to pick on him because he's old, but he told us when he was running he may only be a one-term president."

Michael Moore drafts new constitutional amendment to take away gun rights

Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore was mocked on Sunday after he published a draft of a new constitutional amendment that would repeal the Second Amendment.

What does the proposal say?

Just days after recounting the privileges of "full citizenship," Moore published his draft of a new constitutional amendment that would severely restrict firearm ownership.

The proposed amendment contains eight sections and demonstrates clear misunderstandings of constitutional law.

The first section focuses on protecting Americans from "gun violence and the fear thereof." It reads:

The inalienable right of a free people to be kept safe from gun violence and the fear thereof must not be infringed and shall be protected by the Congress and the States. This Amendment thus repeals and replaces the Second Amendment.

The amendment also raises the minimum legal age for firearm ownership to 25 (section 4), establishes a national firearm registry (section 2), outlines a lengthy and strict process for firearm ownership (sections 2, 3, and 4), and outlaws all semi-automatic firearms (section 5).

In Moore's dystopian utopia, then, only firearms like revolvers and bolt-action rifles are legal. Moore similarly limits who can own firearms to licensed hunters, those who are licensed for sport shooting, and "the few who can demonstrate a special need for personal protection," which inevitably limits firearm ownership to the elite and privileged.

The proposed amendment also outlaws "any homemade equipment and machinery ... that can make a gun or weapon that can take a human life" (section 5).

Finally, the proposed amendment says that police officers who carry "shall be subject to comprehensive and continuous monitoring and shall be dismissed if found to exhibit any racist or violent behavior" (section 7) and demands that any American who owns any firearms made illegal under the amendment has only one month to surrender them to the government (section 8).

What was the response?

The proposal was met with a range of criticism.

Some critics noted the amendment would significantly empower the federal government, others noted the proposal itself would violate other parts of the Constitution, while others noted that vague language in the proposal could have unintended consequences.

 • "This is really, really stupid. His vision for an amendment allows for abuse that would effectively remove all limitation from the federal government. He’s even got a special carve out for thought crime," musician Phil Labonte reacted.
 • "Such a cute effort! Good virtue signaling Michael. And, pray tell, how exactly would you confiscate the 200+ million firearms that are legally owned by US citizens, that would suddenly violate your cute amendment, without provoking a civil war?" psychologist Geoffrey Miller reacted.
 • "Uh oh… this could harvest dozens, nay, severals of votes!" Adam Baldwin mocked.
 • "Really kind of amazing. Draconian, as one would expect. And long -- longer than 14th Amendment. Just say the moviemaker hasn't mastered the constitutional amendment style," conservative writer Byron York responded.
 • "Tyrants and their fat sycophants fetishize over an unarmed and subservient population," Michael Quinn Sullivan said.
 • "Since the fifth amendment doesn't allow for any restriction of liberty without due process, this would be instantly unconstitutional," another person noted.
 • "I read it, it’s a declaration of war on gun owners," one person characterized.
 • "I wonder why Moore's 28th Amendment, which would rescind the Second Amendment, does not include any provisions to stop the proliferation of illegally-obtained guns?Almost like he is more concerned with disarming law-abiding citizens instead of violent criminals," one person observed.
 • "Michael Moore is smart enough to understand the political likelihood of a 2nd Amendment repeal is less than a tenth of a percent. This is the definition of white liberal self-righteous virtue signaling," another person responded.
 • "Lol this would make essentially every tool ever invented illegal. Sorry no drill presses, no lathes, no grinding wheels, no mills, no whetstones, no files, definitely no 3D printers, no routers, Michael Moore says they are too scary and might let you make a weapon," another person observed.

Fortunately, the Constitution establishes a high bar for amendments — two-thirds approval in Congress and approval by three-fourths of the states, or else a convention of states called by two-thirds of the states, followed by ratification of three-fourths of the states — thus Moore's porposal will never become constitutional law.

Far-left Michael Moore declares 'it's time to repeal the Second Amendment' — but gun-rights supporters fire back in defiance: 'Come take it'

Filmmaker and left-wing activist Michael Moore — in the wake of the massacre of 19 children and two teachers at a Texas elementary school Tuesday — declared "it's time to repeal the Second Amendment."

What are the details?

Moore appeared on MSNBC's "All In with Chris Hayes" as the aftermath of the mass killing at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde was unfolding and called for "drastic action" — such as "a moratorium ... on gun sales."

Then the filmmaker got bolder: “Who will say on this network or any other network in the next few days, ‘It’s time to repeal the Second Amendment’?”

Moore continued, mimicking those who would dismiss such a statement: “Oh, you can’t say that!"

“Well, why not?” Moore added, responding in his hypothetical exchange.

“I truly believe if Jefferson and Washington and Madison — if they all knew that the bullet would be invented some 50 years after our revolution — I don’t know if they would have written [the Second Amendment] that way," he continued. "They didn’t even know what a bullet was; it didn’t exist 'til the 1830s. If they had any idea that there would be this kind of carnage, you have to believe that the founders of the country wouldn't support it.”

'We need the hardcore stuff'

Moore added, "I support all gun control legislation. Not sensible gun control; we don’t need the sensible stuff. We need the hardcore stuff that’s going to protect ourselves and our children."

He also quipped that "I do have thoughts and prayers, and those thoughts and prayers are to remove as many Republicans, as many people who support this evil policy, this coming November. And Americans know this; they don't want this. They don't want their kids killed at school. That's the vast majority of Americans. I'm in the mainstream of that."

““Who will say, ‘It’s time to repeal the Second Amendment?'" says Michael Moore. “If they had any idea that there would be this kind of carnage, you have to believe the founders of this country wouldn’t support it.””

How did folks respond to Moore?

While a good number of commenters reacting to the clip on Hayes' Twitter page supported Moore's stance, others weren't going to stand for their rights getting trampled upon:

 • "Come take it," one commenter threw down in response to Moore.
 • "Always the Democrats' ultimate goal," another user remarked. "Thanks for being open about it."
 • "So go to people's houses who have loaded guns and try to take them @JoeBiden," another commenter said. "People outnumber government, law enforcement. Try & do something crazy if you want & suffer the consequences. We know you want to take guns away. Ppl must NEVER comply!"
 • "Oh STFU. We have a decaying societal issue, not a gun issue," another user reacted. "Neat how you libtards pic[k] and choose which evil events ... to cover. ... But you keep your 9 viewers entertained."
 • "Let no one but gangsters, criminals, and dickheads legally own powerful guns.... The ENTIRE country will be a SNAKE PLISSKIN movie you can't ESCAPE from. So be sensible," another commenter quipped. "And send Mr. Moore another rack of lamb."
 • "If the Second can be repealed, so can the First," another user observed. "Do you really want to go down that rabbit hole?"

Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore says US must defend democracy 'against our own domestic Taliban,' apologizes for American wars

Leftist filmmaker Michael Moore — fresh off comparing Southern Baptists to bloodthirsty, misogynistic Taliban militants who've once again taken over Afghanistan — has shared yet another divisive declaration.

What did he say?

As the U.S. military pulled its last service member out of Afghanistan, Moore on Monday took to Twitter and not only apologized for wars the United States has waged, but also he called out "our own domestic Taliban" and said we must defend our democracy against it:

WAR IS OVER. 4:33pm ET. ENOUGH!No more wars. Peace. Apologies to all.Time to fix ourselves and strengthen our… https://t.co/UchwbIykn4

— Michael Moore (@MMFlint) 1630356661.0

"WAR IS OVER. 4:33pm ET. ENOUGH!" Moore wrote. "No more wars. Peace. Apologies to all. Time to fix ourselves and strengthen our own Democracy and defend it against our own domestic Taliban. Take the war money and use it on schools, health care, guaranteed income, housing. Never again. Ever."

It isn't exactly clear who Moore believes constitute "our own domestic Taliban," but given his politics, one can safely infer he means certain supporters of former President Donald Trump and not violent extremists like Antifa.

How did folks react?

As with most pronouncements that proceed from Moore's mouth, this particular statement garnered some support, but it appeared most commenters weren't pleased at all with the radical leftist documentarian:

 • "You mean the domestic Taliban that is Antifa and BLM? You know, the groups that have been rampaging, burning, and killing for six years," one commenter wrote. "Go eat another donut fat boy and leave America to the REAL Americans (Conservatives)."
 • "Dude, do you honestly think wars are over?" another user asked. "Haven't studied human nature much have you. We'll be back into Afghanistan soon enough, watch. The Democrat war machine (MIC) will make sure of it."
 • "As ever you continue to prove yourself a typical vicious champagne socialist pontificating from your mansion about how evil American Christians are," another commenter said. "You are lying trash, and irrelevant intellectually feeble lying trash at that. Go back to the streets of Flynt and try spouting off."
 • "Damn, Fatboy, calm down," another user wrote. "The only Taliban here is your mouth assaulting a Big Mac and fries. How about you man up and physically force people to do what you want? Oh, wait, you won't. Unless they have a doughnut."
 • "Yeah free money and a house! So we can all be massive whales running our blow holes all day like you. Yay let's celebrate obiden abandoning [Afghan] and American lives," another commenter noted. "Why don't you go over there Mike and apologize to the Taliban for me. Idiot."
