VIDEO: 3 Marines beaten and stomped after confronting 30-40 teenagers for being unruly at California beach

Three self-identified U.S. Navy Marines were beaten up and stomped on by a crowd of teenagers after the group was confronted for being unruly on a California beach, police said.

Videos from the Friday incident at the San Clemente Pier Bowl area appeared on social media and showed a large group of teenagers assaulting the Marines.

Hunter Antonino, one of the victims attacked, told KCAL-TV that the group of teenagers were acting belligerent and firing off firecrackers at the beach. He said that he asked them to stop and that's when he was hit in the head with debris and the altercation began.

Video from social media showed one teenager throwing a punch from behind one of the victims and starting the melee.

Two of the victims end up in the fetal position on the ground while the teens viciously punch and kick at them.

Eventually two other adults break up the crowd and end the attack.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said they are working to identify the teenagers involved.

Sgt. Mike Woodroof said that the Marines were treated for numerous injuries at the scene but that they refused additional treatment at a hospital.

“The Orange County Sheriff’s Department will continue investigating this matter until all individuals responsible are identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” read a statement on social media.

They added that they were increasing patrols in the area to ensure the safety of the public.

KCAL reported that there were at least two city cameras in the area that should have captured footage of the attack.

"Look, this is San Clemente, Marines are always welcome here, always gonna be celebrated, always be taken care of. And that's why this is so particularly tragic," said San Clemente Mayor Chris Duncan to KCAL.

School board asks students to 'wear a sweater' so schools can turn down the heat to fight climate change

The Halton District School Board in Ontario, Canada, encouraged children to wear sweaters to school so that schools could turn down the heat to fight climate change, according to documents obtained by TheBlaze.

Students attending schools under the Halton District School Board, the same school board behind the infamous teacher with prosthetic breasts, asked students in the region to wear sweaters to school so that the temperature in the buildings could be turned down by two degrees in hopes of "preventing climate change."

"On National Sweater Day, WWF asks Canadians to turn down thermostats by two degrees Celsius at home, at school and at work to highlight the role that energy conservation plays in preventing climate change," an email to parents reads.

"Our school buildings will be a little chillier on February 2, so we are asking that all students wear or bring a sweater to school," it continues.

The initiative is promoted by the World Wildlife Foundation, which promotes several types of child-centric activist programs on its website.

In the same email sent to parents, children were also encouraged to walk to school on the very same day.

"National Winter Walk to School Day is February 2nd. Please consider leaving the car at home and enjoying a cool walk to school on February 2nd," the letter suggests. It also suggests children bring a separate set of clothes to change into at school if their clothes get wet.

The temperature on Feb. 2, 2023, in the region was approximately 16 degrees, which felt like three degrees when factoring in the wind chill.

“They claim they're saving the world one sweater at a time, forgetting that the cotton from those sweaters is most likely farmed by a child getting paid less than $1/day that, if they are lucky, will live to 30 years old,” a parent of one of the students told TheBlaze, requesting to remain anonymous.

The district email also included updates on "Indigenous Rights and Education," offering support to students through the use of "learning about anti-colonial practices" and "factual history, truths, and the impacts of colonialism."

First bus of illegal immigrants from Texas arrives in DC

A bus from Texas carrying dozens of illegal immigrants arrived in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday morning, allowing passengers to disembark just blocks away from the U.S. Capitol, according to a Fox News report.

Governor Greg Abbott (R-Texas) announced last week that he directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) to "charter buses and flights to transport migrants who have been processed and released from federal custody to Washington, D.C.," in response to the Biden administration's plan to rescind Title 42.

But critics on both the left and right were quick to slam the Texas governor's plan as a "publicity stunt" and "gimmick" when they found out that illegal immigrants "must volunteer" and "show documentation from DHS" to be transported to the Capitol.

Press secretary Jen Psaki said "I think it’s pretty clear this is a publicity stunt” when asked what the Biden administration planned to do in response to Gov. Abbott's initiative. “His own office admits that a migrant would need to voluntarily be transported, and then he can’t compel them to because, again, enforcement of our country’s immigration laws lies with the federal government and not a state,” she added.

Even Republican state Rep. Matt Schaefer called the plan a "gimmick" in a tweet shortly after Abbott's press conference announcing his plan.

Nevertheless, a bus from the Del Rio sector in Texas reportedly pulled up just blocks away from the U.S. Capitol building around 8 a.m. local time on Wednesday, to drop off dozens of immigrants said to be from Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

"In the last 24 hours, TDEM has dispatched buses to areas where communities have expressed concerns about the federal government dropping off migrants and has the capability to send as many as is necessary to fulfill the requests from mayors and county judges," Seth Christensen, chief of media and communications for TDEM, told Fox News.

“From the [Rio Grande Valley] to Terrell County, a large majority of the communities that originally reached out for support through this operation have now said that the federal government has stopped dropping migrants in their towns since the governor’s announcement on Wednesday,” Christensen added.

A tweet from Gov. Abbott's account on Wednesday boasted, "First Texas bus drops off illegal immigrants blocks from US Capitol in Washington, DC. Biden refuses to come see the mess he’s made at the border. So Texas is bringing the border to him."

If the migrants are asked if they want to go to DC and they say yes...then they are just basically getting a free ride there...right? When they are being released they are free to go wherever they want..they choose DC. So isn't Texas just giving them a free ride where they chose?

I agree; more states than just Florida and Texas need to be making headlines.

Of course it\u2019s a publicity stunt. But an amazing, genius publicity stunt. One that forces media to cover the issue.

Here are more details as reported by Fox News:

Teacher would rather rather get fired than obey Florida law saying schools must tell parents about their children's sexuality, gender

A Florida public school teacher took to her TikTok page to declare she would rather get fired, sued, or thrown in jail than obey state law saying schools must inform parents of changes in their children's sexuality and gender pertaining to school services offered to them.

What are the details?

"I just want to go ahead and state that I would rather lose my job than out one of my students to their families,” said Amber Mercier of the Academy in Port Charlotte, which serves middle and high school students. “Being a safe person and a safe place for kids that don’t have that at home is one of the best parts of being a teacher, so yeah, I’m not doing it. I don’t know — fire me, sue me, take me to jail. I’m not doing it.”

Mercier's TikTok account went private Wednesday afternoon, but Libs of TikTok saved a copy and posted it to Twitter. The National Desk said it reached out to Mercier for comment but did not hear back prior to publication of its article.

What did the school district have to say?

Charlotte County Public Schools told the National Desk it's investigating Mercier's video.

"Our superintendent, assistant superintendent of HR, and the principal at the Academy have begun an investigation as to what happened today concerning the post by the teacher,” the school district noted to the outlet in an emailed statement. “We always are and always will be in compliance with laws, policies, and procedures put in place by the governor, the legislature, the commissioner of education, and the state school board — that will never change. This investigation will be a priority on today’s list of things do."

Anything else?

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the Parental Rights in Education Act into law Monday.

The law — which left-wing pro-LBGTQ types have falsely referred to as the "Don't Say Gay" bill — prohibits classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in grades K-3, and it doesn't use the word "gay" or prevent its use.

PJ Media said the governor's office confirmed that the new law also requires school districts to adopt procedures for notifying parents if there are changes in services from schools regarding children’s mental, emotional, or physical health or well-being. The provision applies to students K-12, the outlet said.
