Congratulations To All The Dads Who Are Better Fathers Than Joe And Hunter Biden
If you're a new dad and looking for advice on what not to do as a father, look no further than Joe and Hunter Biden.
President Joe Biden reportedly acknowledged his seventh grandchild only after Hunter Biden gave him approval.
Last week, Biden publicly acknowledged Navy Roberts as his granddaughter for the first time. Though she was born as his sixth biological grandchild in 2018 — the fourth child of Hunter Biden — Biden for years had refused to acknowledge her existence.
But that changed after the first son gave his father the "green light," NBC News reported:
In recent weeks, President Joe Biden realized that his silence was no longer tenable — that it was time for him to publicly recognize his 4-year-old granddaughter caught up in a bitter child support case involving his son Hunter Biden, people familiar with the matter said.
But before he could do so, he wanted to take one final step: getting the "green light" from his son, which he received last week, one source said.
Not only does Biden now acknowledge that Navy exists and is his biological granddaughter, but the president wants to meet her.
According to NBC News, which spoke to sources familiar with the matter, Biden's motive for wanting to meet Navy is to "dispel the notion that he was ignoring a vulnerable member of the Biden family tree that is at the root of his political identity."
The story, moreover, repeatedly alluded to the political benefits of accepting Navy because doing so "serves to blunt a GOP line of attack."
However, Republicans weren't the only ones criticizing Biden. New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd scorned Biden publicly in a column last month for ignoring Navy. Her sharp criticism, sources told NBC News, "weighed on" Biden.
When and where the president will meet his granddaughter is not yet known. The White House is not saying much about the matter, dismissing questions because it is a "private, family matter."

CNN host Kasie Hunt demanded respect for the Bidens on Sunday when a panelist refused to applaud President Joe Biden for finally acknowledging his seventh grandchild.
For the last four years, Biden has refused to acknowledge Navy Joan Roberts, his biological grandchild who was born in 2018. Navy is the fourth biological child of Hunter Biden. To date, neither Joe nor Hunter has a relationship with Navy and, according to the most recent reports, neither have ever met Navy.
But finally on Friday — after a slew of bad press, including from Democrats — Biden released a brief statement acknowledging Navy.
"Our son Hunter and Navy's mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward," Biden said in a statement, shared with People Magazine. "This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter. Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy."
On "State of the Union," CNN commentator Scott Jennings rebuked the happy "family man" narrative that persists about the Bidens. He was responding to former longtime Biden aide Michael LaRosa, who accused Republicans of weaponizing Navy against the president.
"It's not Republicans, with all due respect, who made Hunter Biden into a complete scumbag on this and other issues," Jennings stated matter-of-factly.
"The ignoring his own daughter for four years, and the president of the United States hanging up a stocking for the dog, and not for his seventh grandchild," he continued when Hunt interjected.
"We can also have sympathy for people who are struggling with addiction," she said. "Let's keep this conversation respectful!"
"Listen, I totally agree. And where I'm from, a lot of families deal with addiction. And you know who ends up picking up the pieces? The grandparents. And, in this case, the grandparents would not acknowledge this little girl. It is offensive," Jennings responded.
When Hunt defended the Bidens again, noting that "they have now" acknowledged Navy, Jennings suggested the Bidens had an ulterior motive for doing it now.
"Oh, what a hero," he mocked. "The polling must have been brutal. The polling must have been brutal."
