Rescue UPDATE: Stranded Afghan interpreter who once helped rescue Biden has finally escaped — but not with Biden's help

An Afghan interpreter who helped save then-Sen. Joe Biden's life in 2008 was among those stranded in Afghanistan after Biden's troop withdrawal. He has now escaped the country with his family, but not with President Biden's help.

Thanks to private organizations, including The Nazarene Fund, the interpreter and his family have now been rescued.

‘Both miraculous and horrendous’: Glenn Beck gives emotional update on Afghanistan rescue

The conditions in Afghanistan under the Taliban rule — for Americans, allies, Christians, women and more — continue to deteriorate, and the people there continue to plead that we will not forget them. On the radio program Monday, Glenn Beck gave an emotional update on current evacuation efforts, including the tragic story of one girl — an American passport holder — who was not rescued in time.

"I have a pit in my stomach like I haven't had in a while. What is happening in Afghanistan is both miraculous and horrendous," Glenn began. "What's going on right now one of the most amazing things I've ever personally witnessed — the evacuation of Americans, those [Afghans] who helped us, Christians that are dying, women that are under incredible conditions. I see things that I can't show you. I see the pleadings from people who are in safe houses, 'Please, don't forget us.' I see what they're being sent by the Taliban.

"If I die today, my entire life will have been worth it for what you have helped get done, in just the last three weeks. You have saved well over 5,000 people," he continued.

Fighting back tears, Glenn added, "I ask that you pray for those in the Middle East, that are in the midst of doing work, that a Moses-style miracle will happen. ... There are several people that are in dire need of medical care. Friday, we told you — along with the congressman from Oklahoma [Rep. Markwayne Mullin] who had just returned — [about] a father and two daughters that were blue passport Americans, and a mother who had a permanent residence, a Green Card. The daughter was very ill. And they thought, that if we couldn't get her out of there, that she would lose her legs. I got a call on Saturday morning, that we were too late, that she didn't lose her legs. She lost her life, waiting. There are now two Americans, instead of three."

Glenn showered his audience with gratitude, repeating that "well over 5000" lives have already been saved because of their incredible generosity, but lamented that there are still thousands more people yet to be saved.

Fox News obtains leaked email confirming State Department obstruction of private evacuation flights from Afghanistan

A leaked email from the State Department confirms that the Biden administration refused to grant permission for private evacuation flights from Afghanistan to land in third countries, even though the administration was aware official authorization was needed for them to do so.

Additionally, Fox News reported that the State Department explicitly said private charter flights, even those carrying American citizens out of Afghanistan, would not be permitted to land at Department of Defense airbases.

These revelations appear to confirm what BlazeTV host Glenn Beck reported Tuesday, when he said on-air that the State Department refused to grant landing clearance to planes chartered by Mercury One and The Nazarene Fund, which prevented them from departing.

Fox News obtained the email from Eric Montalvo, who organized a series of private flights to evacuate Americans and Afghan allies left behind in Afghanistan by the Biden administration. The email, sent Sept. 1, shows how the State Department set up bureaucratic roadblocks to private evacuation efforts.

"No independent charters are allowed to land at [Al Udeid Air Base], the military airbase you mentioned in your communication with Samantha Power. In fact, no charters are allowed to land at an [sic] DoD base and most if not all countries in the Middle Eastern region, with the exception of perhaps Saudi Arabia will allow charters to land," a State Department official wrote.

"You need to find another destination country, and it can't be the U.S. either."

According to Fox News, the official added that some third countries "may require" official approval from the State Department before permitting private charter flights to land there, but said the State Department "will not provide" that approval.

"Once you have had discussions with the host/destination country and reached an agreement, they may require some indication from the USG that we 'approve' of this charter flight. DOS will not provide an approval, but we will provide a 'no objection' to the destination country government via the U.S. Embassy in that country."

During a Sept. 2 press conference, both White House press secretary Jen Psaki and State Department spokesman Ned Price denied that the Biden administration was preventing private planes from leaving Afghanistan.

When TheBlaze attempted to reach the State Department for comment on Beck's reporting, a spokesman for the department referred to comments made Tuesday by Secretary of State Antony Blinken during a press conference in Doha, Qatar.

"We're working around the clock with NGOs, with members of Congress and advocacy groups, providing any and all information and doing all we can to clear any roadblocks that they've identified to make sure that charter flights carrying Americans or others to whom we have a special responsibility can depart Afghanistan safely," Blinken said.

"We've also been engaged with the Taliban on this topic, including in recent hours," he added. "They've said that they will let people with travel documents freely depart. We will hold them to that."

'They will be the FIRST to die': Oklahoma mom who rescued Afghan girls, now helping SAVE over 200 female Afghan judges

Allyson Reneau is a mother from Oklahoma who has already helped save 10 members of an all-girl robotics team from Afghanistan. But now, more and more desperate women are asking for her help.

Allyson joined Glenn Beck on the radio program to detail what it took to help the girls robotics team escape. And she also explained her next goal: To help evacuate more than 200 female judges who fear that the Taliban who they sentenced to jail are coming for them first.

"Because of the media coverage I've had over the last few days, the cries for help from within Afghanistan, from women who are in hiding, professional women, who have been fired, who are being hunted, who are being tortured. [There were] reports last night of two killed and shot. And these are professional, educated women. Some beaten to death. Some blinded," Allyson told Glenn.

"I was back at ground zero again," she added. "What worked for the girls I helped was not going to work for these people that were in hiding. I said, 'Send me the list. I'm not going to leave one behind.' And I thought there would be 20 people. It was 212 women Afghan judges in hiding, Supreme Court [judges]. And I asked my commander friends on the ground, that are helping me, and they said, 'Yes. They will be the first to die.' The first to die, because they have imprisoned men. They have imprisoned people who were beating their wives. And all those prisoners have been released. These women are being hunted, and it was 212 women."

Glenn offered to assist through the Nazarene Fund's ongoing rescue efforts in Afghanistan. (Read the latest updates on the Nazarene fund's rescue operation here.)

"We're Americans, and we figure it out, don't we, Glenn?" replied an emotional Allyson. "And I just want to say, Mr. President, if you can hear this message, we need more time. We need more time. Please give us more time!"

President Biden has said the U.S. will be able complete its evacuation in Afghanistan by Aug. 31.

Glenn Beck travels to Middle East, shares updates from Afghanistan rescue efforts and photos featuring scores of Afghan Christians boarding private planes

Conservative firebrand Glenn Beck's and the Nazarene Fund's incredible efforts in rescuing Afghan Christian refugees are paying off, and Beck and the Nazarene Fund together have been able to free scores and scores of people from war-torn Afghanistan.

At the time of this reporting, the Nazarene Fund has raised more than $30 million to aid in the rescue of Afghan refugees.

What are the details?

In an early Wednesday morning Instagram update, Beck wrote, "I cannot specify for international relations and security reasons exactly where I am today, but I am in the Middle East at the home base of operations for @thenazarenefund. I will try to join radio/podcast right at the top 9amE on @theblazetv."

Later Wednesday morning, it was reported that the Nazarene Fund had already rescued hundreds of Afghan Christian families after having arrived there earlier this week.

Late Tuesday night, Beck shared video of himself from what appeared to be a plane, in which he said, "Just got a briefing a few minutes ago on what's been happening today and what's been going on overseas. We are still moving people at this point, it's like you're a Christian, you're a female judge, I don't care, get on the plane, from Afghanistan. It is horrible, horrible to hear that we are now cutting our time short — 72 hours — why is the United States now making a bad situation much, much worse by having them cut our deadline?

"And now ISIS and the Taliban are outside of the gate and they're fighting with each other," Beck continued. "All that has to happen is for the Marines to go through the gate and say, 'Back your ass up and get out. We'll see you on the 31st.' But for some reason we're not doing it. I don't understand it. America — we are not these people. We do not leave people behind — ever. Ever.

"Call your senator, call your congressman, tell them to put the heat on the State Department," he urged. "This is not the military; this is the administration and the State Department. Call them. Believe me. They need to hear from you right now. This is an abomination, what is happening. So you know, there is a lot of good that is happening as well. Mainly from other countries, but also from private citizens."

He continued, "The last update I have we were at $30 million. We are doing our best to make sure that every dime goes to the people who need it. Right now it's just paying for airplanes. Unfortunately, some of those airplanes — far too many of them — are sitting on a tarmac waiting for the State Department clearance. Please pray for all of those people who are in harm's way. Lord, we ask that you would just watch over them, keep them safe, if they are at the gates, Lord, let those gates open up for them, find a way in to the tarmac and for our planes to get off the ground and get to someplace safe. We also are very, very grateful for all of the countries that now want to remain nameless because they don't think the United States will support them — what does our support even mean anymore? They are afraid of being outed as a country that's taken some of these refugees because they know that the world has fallen to terror."

That same night, Beck shared an update on Facebook, writing, "Operation Nazarene Rescue: flight three has just taken off. Now 1200 Christians evacuated and flown to safety. It has been a good day! Thank you for the outpouring of prayers and support! Because of The Power Of One people will LIVE. Wow! Thank you for donating to @mercuryone.org and @thenazarenefund. America does care! America does not leave her own and the most vulnerable behind. WE CAN DO IT AS THE POWER IS WITH THE PEOPLE. We are America not our government. When they can't do it, private citizens step to the plate."

Beck previously stated that by the end of a week, the Nazarene Fund will be able to move at least 7,000 Christians out of Afghanistan and into safety as the Taliban continues to exact dangerous treatment on those in Kabul and across the country.

In an Instagram video taken last week before he departed for the Middle East, Beck said that "chaos at the airport" was creating incredibly frustrating conditions at the time.

"However," he countered, "we have lots of people on the tarmac now, these Christians we told you about, and more coming. We have engaged 20 757s minimum all lined up, ready to go. Because you donated to the Nazarene Fund, we can do this."

He added, "By the end of the week, we will be able to move 7,000 Christians. It's pretty remarkable."

Earlier Tuesday, Beck took to Facebook where he wrote, "Oh happy day! While we slept, @thenazarenefund was busy loading planes. This was the second plane load of Afghanistan Christian refugees leaving Kabul. More to come! Thank you for your prayers and kindness. We heal ourselves when we heal others."
