One dead, several victims 'mangled,' after man drove SUV into Boston area Apple store, pinning bodies against inside wall

A male driver sped into an Apple store in the Boston area on Monday morning, killing one and injuring at least 17 people.

What are the details?

911 calls began to pour in from the neighboring Derby Street shops around 10:45 a.m., after a man drove a black SUV through the front plate-glass window of an Apple store in the Boston suburb of Hingham, reported the Independent.

The driver struck multiple people inside the establishment.

The Hanover Fire Department indicated shortly after the incident that multiple people were "injured/trapped."

Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz suggested that some victims had been pinned to the inside wall of the store.

Firefighters appeared to have helped someone trapped under the vehicle inside the store.

Some bystanders reportedly leapt into action to provide aid to those injured both inside and outside the store right after the incident.

One male victim has been confirmed dead.

A statement issued by Apple suggested that the deceased may have been a "professional who was onsite supporting recent construction at the store."

WCVB reported that victims have been transported to various hospitals in the area.

South Shore Health is presently treating 17 victims for various injuries, including head trauma and "mangled" limbs. The hospital's chief of trauma, Dr. Christopher Burns, indicated that multiple patients have life-threatening injuries, meaning the death count may soon rise.

Cruz said that the driver was being interviewed by police and that a criminal investigation is underway, suggestive that this may have been an intentional attack.

One witness claimed that while the driver appeared to have been injured in the crash, the man had nevertheless been alert.

The district attorney said, "this morning was an unthinkable morning, and people are trying to get through it and process what happened."

Alarming images are presently circulating revealing a gaping hole in the front window of the Apple store. Shattered glass and what appears to be blood stains can also be seen on the ground near the entry point.

One witness who was nearby the store at the moment of impact told NBC10 that "all of a sudden we hear this, I don't want to say explosion but a bang, a very loud bang. So we jumped up from the table and we looked out the window and we could see the hole in the Apple Store."

Police began attempting to remove the SUV lodged inside the building around 3 p.m. Footage shows HPD preparing the break more glass to retrieve the vehicle:

Hingham fire chief Steve Murphy said that the building commissioner and the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team have indicated that the structural integrity of the building has not been compromised.

State Senator Patrick O’Connor (R) tweeted, "My thoughts are with those who have been injured and impacted by the incident at the Hingham Derby Street Shops this morning. Sadly, there are reports of at least one individual having passed due to injuries on the scene and my prayers are with their family."

SF free speech rally canceled after organizer's tooth knocked out, police escort Trump supporters away from violent mob

A free speech rally was shut down in San Francisco on Saturday after counter-protesters became violent. The situation became so dangerous for conservatives that police needed to escort them to their cars for their own safety from an angry mob.

A "Free Speech Rally Against Twitter and Big Tech" was planned for Saturday at the Federal Building at U.N. Plaza, which is near Twitter's headquarters. The event was to protest Twitter's censorship of the New York Post's article about Hunter Biden's alleged emails regarding overseas dealings.

The rally, which was organized by Team Save America, was granted a permit by the city. There was a strong police presence in the area and barricades were set up to separate the rally-goers and the counter-protesters.

"The First Amendment ensures the right to assemble for everyone and the permit process is in place to allow for planning, to minimize disruptions and to create basic safety measures," San Francisco Rec & Parks spokesperson Tamara Aparton told SFist. "The San Francisco Police Department will be implementing all safety measures for this event."

Before the 1 p.m. free speech rally kicked off, hundreds of counter-protesters assembled in the area, including a group of black-clad individuals wielding shields. Demonstrators were holding signs that read, "Smash Fascism" and "Nazi Trump F*** Off."

"They have no business being here, they're trying to build a fascist movement in this country," San Francisco resident Carol Seligman told KABC-TV.

"It's tough, I believe in free speech but I'm also anti-fascism," said Elana Thurson-Milgrom from San Francisco.

The main organizer, Philip Anderson, was attacked and punched while he was walking to the stage to deliver his speech. The counter-protesters threw bottles at Anderson while he was on stage. Anderson announced the rally was canceled.

"Too bad it got canceled, that's what happens when you lose free speech, this is what our country has turned into," Anderson told the crowd.

Anderson shared a photo that shows his bloody mouth with his front tooth knocked out and another hanging loosely with the caption: "Antifa attacked me for no reason."

Anderson also posted a video from a hospital bed. "I have a question for you, Joe Biden. You said that Antifa is just an idea. This is what they did to me," Andersen said with a front tooth missing. "I'm at the hospital right now ... because of Antifa. Do you still think, after seeing this, that they're just an idea?"

Despite the free speech rally being canceled, police determined that the conservatives in the area were in danger after the riotous horde tried to knock down the barricades and threw glass bottles. Law enforcement provided a police escort to the conservatives, many of them wearing "Make America Great Again" hats.

San Francisco police said counter-protesters threw "plastic bottles filled with unknown liquid," metal cans and eggs at rally participants.

The San Francisco Police Department said six people were injured, including three officers who suffered non-life-threatening injuries when they were assaulted with pepper spray and caustic chemicals. One officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment, the department said.

One Trump supporter was seen being taken away in an ambulance with a leg injury.

No arrests were made, the department said.

Nebraska man goes viral with impassioned plea for city council to rename boneless chicken wings

A Lincoln, Nebraska, man has become an icon on social media, after going viral for his impassioned plea before the city council to banish the term "boneless chicken wings" while proposing a number of alternative monikers for the food.

What are the details?

"Lincoln has the opportunity to be a social leader in this country," Anders Christensen begins in his speech. "We have been casually ignoring a problem that has gotten so out of control, that our children are throwing around names and words without even understanding their true meaning — treating things as though they are normal."

"I go into nice family restaurants, and I see people throwing this name around and pretending as though everything is just fine," he continued. "I'm talking about boneless chicken wings."

At one point during Christensen's plea, he was interrupted by someone behind him in the meeting. The wing connoisseur turned around, appearing to jokingly say, "excuse me," before continuing his serious argument and offering solutions to the issue.

According to Fox News, he goes on to note that "nothing about boneless chicken wings come from the wing of a chicken," and argues, "We would be disgusted if a butcher mislabeled cuts of meat."

"I propose that we rename boneless wings in the city of Lincoln," Christensen said. "We can call them buffalo-style chicken tenders. We can call them wet tenders. We can call them saucy nuggs, or trash. We can take these steps that show the country where we stand, and we understand that we've been living a lie for far too long. And we know it. We can feel it in our bones."

Fox News further noted:

Christensen's battle is not new. A survey conducted earlier this year found Americans were divided over the concept of boneless wings, with 34 percent claiming they felt duped by the term, seeing as they were more chicken nugget than wing.

However, 53 percent of those polled said that "boneless wings" should count as wings.

Anything else?

Christensen's argument was trending on Twitter and TikTok on Wednesday, and earned him the attention of big names online.

Barstool Sports declared, "You've Never Wanted Anything as Badly as This Guy Wants to Eliminate the Term 'Boneless Wings' in Lincoln, Nebraska."

Conservative radio host Dana Loesch quoted him with laughing emojis, ""Wet tenders," "saucy nuggs," or "trash."

Former NBA player Rex Chapman tweeted, "Finally, someone with guts. Speaking truth to power..."
