Trimming the opposition, one election at a time

I’ve often reflected on Donald Trump’s charge that massive fraud occurred during the 2020 presidential election. While I’m not convinced the opposition cheated enough to change the outcome, I do agree with J.R. Dunn at American Thinker, who argues, “We’re not going to debate whether cheating in fact occurred in 2020 — the only ones who dispute that at this point are the bought, the braindead, and the comatose.”

My acceptance of this view stems largely from the behavior of Democratic Party operatives since 2020. They have used highly questionable tactics to influence election outcomes, including flooding the country with millions of illegal immigrants brought here as potential Democratic voters. In fact, Democrats have already started registering some of these new arrivals, who, grateful for benefits like living expenses, medical care, food, and shelter, are likely to vote in their favor.

The ruling left’s ideal outcome would involve the complete elimination of genuine opposition, leaving only allies or powerless coalition partners.

In states controlled by Democrats or those they are close to controlling, such as my home state of Pennsylvania, voter ID requirements are being removed. This change aims to enable individuals who shouldn’t have voting rights to cast ballots. Similarly, in 2020, ballots were widely mailed to addresses where registered voters once lived but may no longer reside. Democratic operatives likely visited these addresses to fill out ballots, while unguarded drop boxes in Democratic areas were reportedly filled with pro-Biden ballots late at night.

Recently, the Department of Justice has attempted to prevent Republican governors from removing noncitizens from voter rolls, as seen in a widely publicized case in Virginia. Congressional Democrats also strongly oppose limiting voting to only citizens, aligning with the party’s support for massive illegal immigration — essentially importing future Democratic voters.

These practices recall the “salami tactics” communist operatives used in Eastern Europe after World War II, which allowed them to gain power through seemingly constitutional means. Instead of the deep state and corporate media, as in today’s context, communists like Matyas Rakosi in Hungary and Klement Gottwald in Czechoslovakia relied on the Red Army to break up their democratic opposition.

Some of these gradualist tactics, pioneered by communist takeover strategists, echo what our Democratic Party and similar woke leftist parties in Europe are already doing. Much like today’s Democrats, the communists worked relentlessly to delegitimize any party to their right, including agrarian groups, nationalists, and even social democrats, labeling them as fascists and Nazis.

Much like slicing a salami, the political spectrum was gradually narrowed to the communists and their willing collaborators. These collaborators bear a striking resemblance to today's neoconservatives, who now seek favor with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz while denouncing Trump and MAGA Republicans as neo-Nazis.

The totalitarian left has long perfected the art of marginalizing opposition. During their rise to power, the communists welcomed bourgeois progressives, the Eastern and Central European equivalents of figures like George Will, Ken Adelman, John Bolton, Robert Kagan, and Dick and Liz Cheney. Applying “salami tactics,” they outlawed noncompliant parties and, where possible, jailed their leaders as “fascists.” This approach mirrors how today’s media and Democrats treat MAGA Republicans, whom President Biden recently denounced as “garbage.” The ruling left’s ideal outcome would involve the complete elimination of genuine opposition, leaving only allies or powerless coalition partners.

A future Democratic administration led by Harris and Walz could closely resemble the old communist model. The Democrats have already proposed measures like packing the Supreme Court with loyalists, granting statehood to the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico to secure additional Senate seats, and federalizing elections while removing voter ID requirements — all under the guise of “saving our democracy.”

Meanwhile, Harris, Walz, and sympathetic media outlets express concern about allowing “disinformation” to circulate without government oversight. The totalitarian left, whether in the modern West or the former Soviet bloc, has always sought to throttle unwanted dissent.

That said, our homegrown version of leftist totalitarianism looks a lot kinkier than what the communists established. Unlike puritanical communist rule, our post-democratic regime is already abolishing gender distinctions, pushing gender-altering surgery for minors, and glorifying homosexual relations. This new form of the totalitarian left would be less about government ownership of resources than reconstructing social and moral behavior and rewarding parasitic capitalists who support those in power.

Although history never repeats itself exactly, troubling trends often have an unfortunate tendency to rhyme.

Jewish gay teen's rendezvous with man he wanted 'legendary' sex with ended with him being stabbed to death by neo-Nazi homophobe: Prosecutor

It has been more than six years since Blaze Bernstein was found stabbed to death in a shallow grave, but his alleged killer has avoided a trial until now. Samuel Woodward is an alleged neo-Nazi and homophobe accused of murdering a Jewish gay teen from California who wanted to have "legendary" sex with him.

Bernstein had "super-liked" Woodward on the Tinder dating app in June of 2017, to which Woodward liked him in return. Bernstein messaged him, "Wait, Sam Woodward?? Is that you??"

Bernstein was allegedly surprised to see his classmate on the dating app seeking a relationship with another man, and even shared a screenshot of Woodward's profile to two friends from their high school alma mater – Orange County School of the Arts.

Bernstein allegedly told one friend that having sex with Woodward would be "legendary."

"I need to get [expletive] by Sam Woodward, it would be legendary,” Bernstein wrote to his friend, according to the New York Post.

Bernstein reportedly believed that Woodward was a closeted homosexual, and allegedly told friends, "We all knew it."

Woodward initially told Bernstein that he was on Tinder looking for intimate relationships with black women and for guys to go deer hunting with him. Woodward allegedly said he only matched with Bernstein to catch up.

Bernstein, a 19-year-old sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania at the time, reportedly told Woodward that he was cute. Woodward, then age 20, purportedly told Bernstein, "You’re not too shabby looking yourself."

According to court documents, Bernstein informed Woodward that he was back home working on a birthday gift for a friend. When Woodward allegedly offered to come over and help him, Bernstein said it wouldn't work out because his family was home.

Forward reported that Bernstein asked Woodward about his sexual preferences, but he replied that he had been "kinda dishonest," and that he was just curious about how Bernstein would respond if he said he was attracted to him.

Woodward reportedly ended the match on Tinder.

The pair matched on Tinder six months later.

Woodward allegedly apologized to Bernstein, and said that he had been "going through a weird time" in his life and hinted at a possible drug addiction, but stressed that he was better now.

Bernstein said he was not concerned about Woodward's past issues.

Bernstein noted that Woodward was straight, to which he reportedly replied: "I might make an exception for you.”

Bernstein was allegedly skeptical and retorted, "We have already done this prank, remember."

The duo began having a conversation on the Snapchat app, where Bernstein reportedly gave Woodward his parents' home address and they decided to meet up.

According to court docs, Woodward picked up Bernstein in his car and the pair went to Borrego Park in Lake Forest outside Los Angeles.

Bernstein reportedly messaged his friend at 11:36 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2018, that read: "I did something really horrible for the story."

A few seconds later he added, "But also no one can ever know."

However, Bernstein never replied to his friend's concerned text to his cryptic message.

The next day, Bernstein missed a dentist appointment. His parents found his glasses, wallet, and credit cards in his bedroom, which prompted them to try to contact him, but he didn't respond to their texts or calls.

Bernstein's father reportedly discovered messages between his son and Woodward on Snapchat. The concerned father messaged Woodward about his son.

Prosecutor Jennifer Walker told the court that Woodward told the father and police that Bernstein had gone to meet another friend at the park, but did not name the person.

Days later, Bernstein’s body was found in a shallow grave in Borrego Park. According to the prosecutor, the teen had been stabbed 28 times – mostly in the face and neck.

Police carried out a search on Woodward's family home in Newport Beach – where they discovered a folding knife with blood on the blade and DNA on the handle that matched Bernstein.

Law enforcement also found a black Atomrwaffen mask spattered with blood and a cache of homophobic and anti-semitic materials.

During the trial in Santa Ana that began on Tuesday, Walker accused Woodward of joining Atomwaffen Division – a violent, homophobic, and anti-semitic group.

Investigators allegedly found emails that Woodward had sent to himself that Walker described as a "hate diary." He reportedly expressed hatred for gay and Jewish people. In the emails, Woodward allegedly admitted targeting gay men online.

The prosecutor argued Woodward "killed Blaze Bernstein because he was gay."

Woodward was arrested two days after the bloody blade was found in his room.

Woodward had dodged trial for years by claiming that he couldn't stand trial because of his mental state.

In late 2022, Woodward was deemed competent to stand trial.

Woodward pleaded not guilty to murder with an enhancement for a hate crime.

Woodward’s defense attorney Ken Morrison contended, "We agree the evidence will show that Samuel Woodward is guilty of homicide." However, Morrison also told jurors, "What happened that night, plain and simple, was not a hate crime."

DeSantis calls out NBC anchor for trying to use false narrative to smear him: 'Don't give somebody 15 minutes of fame'

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) called out NBC News anchor Kristen Welker on Sunday for leveraging criticism from a single person to suggest he is soft on neo-Nazis.

On "Meet the Press," Welker amplified complaints from Florida state Rep. Randy Fine (R), who recently endorsed Donald Trump over DeSantis. Fine said he broke from DeSantis because, in his view, the governor has not done enough to support Jews. Fine claimed DeSantis did not adequately denounce neo-Nazis last year and did not do enough to build a Holocaust memorial that Fine wanted.

Politico, meanwhile, noted that some Florida Republicans saw Fine's decision to break from DeSantis as "petty" and "disloyal."

Still, Welker forced DeSantis to respond to Fine's criticism, particularly his complaint that DeSantis failed to denounce sufficiently a group of neo-Nazis that gathered in Tampa last year.

DeSantis told Welker that Fine is "just trying to get his 15 minutes of fame" before reciting the laundry list of pro-Jewish actions he has taken as governor. But Welker was not satisfied and even suggested that DeSantis intentionally did not speak out against the neo-Nazis.

"Your state has heard from both Marco Rubio and Rick Scott condemning those neo-Nazi protests," Welker said. "Why didn't you speak out? Why didn't you use your voice to say that you're not going to stand for that?"

"Of course we condemn that. Just look at everything that we've done in terms of our policies —" DeSantis responded.

"But you didn't at the time, Governor," Welker interrupted. "You didn't at the time, according to Randy Fine. According to Randy Fine, you did not at the time —"

It was at that point that DeSantis had enough of Welker's attempts to use the criticism of a single person to smear him, telling Welker it's unacceptable to weaponize against him the narrative that Fine single-handedly concocted.

"He's just trying to create a name for himself, so that's all nonsense. Everybody knows that's nonsense," DeSantis said.

He then instructed Welker, "Don't give somebody 15 minutes of fame just because they're letting you try to do a preferred narrative just to hit me. It's nonsense. Our record is second to none, and we'll continue to lead on these issues."

There is, of course, no evidence that DeSantis is a neo-Nazi sympathizer. By all accounts, DeSantis has stood strongly with Jewish Floridians and against anti-Semitism.
