Christmas dance video shared by Jill Biden savaged as commenters draw 'Hunger Games' comparison
First lady Jill Biden shared a video featuring a performance by the Dorrance Dance tap dance company, and people on social media have been mercilessly panning the spectacle.
"A bit of magic, wonder, and joy brought to you by the talented tappers of Dorrance Dance, performing their playful interpretation of The Nutcracker Suite," the first lady's social media posts read. "Enjoy!"

But far from enjoying it, many commenters skewered the performance. Some drew comparisons to "The Hunger Games."
"The chestnuts are not getting roasted but Jill Biden is for her Hunger Games Capital District Christmas approach this year. Brutal comments," Mollie Hemingway wrote.
"Evidently the White House has become an elaborate set for the next Hunger Games movie," GOP Sen. Eric Schmitt of Missouri tweeted.
"Thanks it's the worst thing I've ever seen," Matt Walsh tweeted.
"This is a crime against Christmas," Stephen Miller declared.
"Okay, I'm onboard with impeachment," Frank J. Fleming tweeted.
"What fresh Hell is this?" BlazeTV host Steve Deace tweeted.
"Watching this is making me racist and homophobic," quipped Rob Smith, who is black and identifies as gay.
"Why would Jill Biden do this to us? This is flopping harder than Bidenomics," Jason Rantz tweeted.
In a note on the dance company's website, Michelle Dorrance describes herself as "a white tap dancer with Black cultural ancestors in a society that privileges white people and whiteness."
"It is from this place of white privilege that I invite you to join me in lifelong antiracism work. Understanding how deeply embedded white supremacy, racism, and colonialism is in our culture is paramount to understanding our role (as white people) in perpetuating it, and embracing our job to dismantle it. That understanding is incredibly important to me as a human being and to me as a tap dancer," Dorrance wrote.

Target sells Pride flag-bearing nutcracker figurines and other pro-LGBT Christmas items
Target is offering various pro-LGBT-themed Christmas items for sale, including Pride flag-bearing nutcracker figurines topped with rainbow-colored hats.
The store is also selling a snow globe that features a rainbow-colored heart that bears the message "love is love." The globe "plays the song 'Joy to the World,'" according to the item description.
Target is also offering pro-LGBT wrapping paper. "Unwrap the joy of being yourself with our 50sq ft Snowflake Print Pride Gift Wrap by Wondershop," reads the description of one style of wrapping paper. "Infused with LGBTQIA+ pride, its rainbow hues are perfect for celebrations, be it Christmas or thoughtful gifting." Another wrapping paper option features rainbow-striped candy canes. "Show your pride as you hand out festive gifts by wrapping them in this Rainbow Candy Cane-Print Pride Gift Wrap from Wondershop," the product description states.
Target faced significant consumer backlash earlier this year over LGBT-related items for sale, including items for children. The company caught flak for offering items from Abprallen, a brand that offers products with the message "Satan respects pronouns," though Target had not been offering those Satan-themed items.
"For more than a decade, Target has offered an assortment of products aimed at celebrating Pride Month. Since introducing this year's collection, we've experienced threats impacting our team members' sense of safety and well-being while at work. Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior. Our focus now is on moving forward with our continuing commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community and standing with them as we celebrate Pride Month and throughout the year," the company said in a May 2023 statement.
As that statement indicated, Target apparently plans to persist in celebrating the LGBT agenda.
"Honored to be starting a new body of work in a new role Target has built to lead the Multicultural Merchandising Strategy for the LGBTQIA+ guest segment and Pride businesses across the company for the LGBTQIA+ & Allied communities," Erik Thompson wrote in a LinkedIn post.
