Failed Harris campaign went deeper into debt blowing money on star-studded events

Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, and self-identified "Childless Cat Lady" Taylor Swift were among the many coastal celebrities who endorsed Kamala Harris in the lead-up to the vice president's monumental defeat. It turns out that the production of inauthentic election-time adoration and ideological conviction was expensive.

Federal filings revealed that the campaign, which is reportedly indebted to the tune of over $18 million after blowing roughly $1 billion on Harris' latest failed presidential run, poured boatloads of cash into influencer networks and production companies linked to big names in the entertainment industry.

Federal Election Commission filings show, for instance, that the Harris campaign committee paid Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions $1 million on Oct. 15.

Winfrey tried her apparent best on more than one occasion to generate excitement for Harris. In September, she hosted a rally in Michigan, suggesting that there was a "grassroots movement" behind the vice president and that Harris inspired "a real feeling of optimism and hope."

On the eve of Harris' rejection by the majority of American voters, Winfrey told a crowd in Philadelphia once again to vote, suggesting it might be their last opportunity ever to do so.

Katy Perry, Jon Bon Jovi, Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin, rapper 2 Chainz, and Lady Gaga also made appearances at Harris' final swing-state concerts. The Washington Examiner indicated that the campaign blew over $15 million on "event production"-related costs.

'It didn't matter to have a bunch of celebrities talking to no one.'

Elements of the defeated Harris campaign told the New York Post that former Obama campaign adviser Stephanie Cutter pushed the star-studded concert performances as a way to turn out lower-propensity voters — a plan apparently supported by senior Harris adviser David Plouffe, who has since taken steps to erase his social media presence.

One campaign source told the Post, "They said they were 'spending to zero.' I guess they overshot zero."

Another source said that the costly events constituted "a real misuse of funds that could have been better spent on ads laying out economic polices" to irate and struggling voters. "It didn't matter to have a bunch of celebrities talking to no one, because one, 75 million people already voted, and two, people were concerned about their own financial issues, not Oprah telling them America won't exist."

The Harris campaign apparently dodged the Post's request for comment.

'Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others.'

"Money can't buy you love or a good candidate," a Trump campaign adviser told the Examiner.

When compared to President-elect Donald Trump's various podcast appearances, which were virtually all massively popular — especially his appearance on "The Joe Rogan Experience," which has netted over 48.7 million views on YouTube alone despite its initial suppression — Harris' "Call Her Daddy" interview with Alex Cooper was a failure, netting fewer than 845,000 views on YouTube.

This promotional spot was not only ineffective but costly. An unnamed source told the Examiner that the Harris campaign spent six figures building a set for the vice president's "Call Her Daddy" appearance.

Federal filings also indicate that the Harris campaign spent tens of millions of dollars on consultants to stimulate and simulate support online. The Examiner noted that Village Marketing Agency received over $3.9 million, ostensibly for its help recruiting social media influencers to boost the vice president online.

Trump appeared to troll the Harris campaign on Truth Social over the weekend, writing, "I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn't have lots of$’s left over. Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others."

"Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do," continued the president elect. "We have a lot of money left over in that our biggest asset in the campaign was 'Earned Media,' and that doesn't cost very much. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

One man's Christ-centered weight loss journey

When Rick Salewske appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2002, he had an incredible story to tell. Once weighing in at 538 pounds, the Dallas man had managed to shed some 300 pounds in just two years.

What Salewske did not know at the time was that his story was far from finished. A full 20 years later, he would work with writer Cindy Woods on a book that tells a story he believes is far more impactful than the story of his weight loss.

'It's like a folded quilt that's been in a chest. When you take it out and you start to unfold the quilt, then you see there's the full pattern. And that's how God works too.'

That book — published in January and titled “Half the Man, Twice the Faith” — tells the story of Salewske’s faith.

Looking back now, Salewske says God’s hand in his life is evident — right down to the seemingly random encounter that led me to contact him and Woods to hear the full Richard Salewske story.

Giving God the credit

To hear Salewske tell it, however, the story is not about him at all.

“I’m giving God all the credit for all of this. This isn’t about Rick Salewske. It has nothing to do with me. It’s about how powerful God is, how he puts people in your path,” said Salewske.

As Salewske shares in the book, even after summoning the willpower and determination to lose those first 300 pounds, he still struggled with his weight. He developed a habit of waiting for the world to change around him, telling himself, “It will get better.” In short, Salewske says, he lost his way.

It wasn’t until he met Woods — and began to understand God’ role in his life — that he found it again, ultimately losing another 100 pounds.

“When I started working with Cindy on writing the book, it dawned on me,” Salewske says. "I learned that I had to partner with God to do this. And once I started partnering with God, once I started putting my faith with God, it was so easy.”

“Well, I won’t say easy, but it all made sense,” Salewske quickly adds.

Hands off the wheel

Once he took his hands off the steering wheel to partner with God, patterns started to reveal themselves in Salewske’s life. Often, this involved people appearing at just the right moment. Salewske credits the book itself to this pattern of God working in his life.

Woods tells the story this way.

“Rick’s really close friend, Gary, who is mentioned in the book, is an Uber driver, and he talks to his customers. And one day, he picked up a representative from Christian Faith Publishing, and they began to talk, and he told her about Rick,” said Woods.

Salewske had wanted to tell his story in a book for more than two decades. However, his previous inquiries to the publishing world led him to believe it was too expensive — until Gary’s chance encounter.

Gary connected Salewske to the representative, who told him what needed to happen for him to publish his story. Salewske shared that information with a friend, and that friend connected him to Woods.

“It became apparent to me very quickly that this was not to be a weight-loss book. That’s certainly a fascinating part of the story, and it’s a good hook. But what this really is about is how to partner with God in whatever challenges that you’re facing,” said Woods.

After Woods told Salewske her thoughts, he said it all clicked for him. Scientifically, he knew how he lost 300 pounds. It was diet and exercise, but people often asked Salewske how he had the determination.

“Then it just dawned on me,” Salewske said. “God did this.”

He credits God with putting the right people on his path throughout his weight loss journey, including an influential boss, Bill, and Cooper Aerobics founder Dr. Kenneth Cooper. Since coming to this conclusion, Salewske has become determined to spread the word of God.

Looking for him

How do you start seeing God in your life in the first place, though? Woods says you have to look for him.

“It's like a folded quilt that's been in a chest. When you take it out and you start to unfold the quilt, then you see there's the full pattern. And that's how God works too. You really have to unfold and unpack those things to see how he's working in your life,” said Woods.

Salewske wants to use his story as a testimony to God’s wonders.

“I was 38 years old. I was 538 pounds. 24 years later, I'm down to 200 pounds,” said Salewske.

He’s been married for over 20 years and has three beautiful kids. All the people who have come into his life have been Christians, and they've led him to this.

“How can you say God doesn't exist?” asks Salewske. He says his story is proof that miracles happen.

Strength on the journey

For those who read the book, Salewske and Woods hope they come away knowing they can rely on God.

“Whatever you're going through, God will help you get through it,” says Salewske.

Woods cautions against thinking everything will work out exactly as you expect it to, though. Grief, illness, and hardship still prevail in the world. Partnering with God doesn’t mean all of that will cease to exist.

Rather, Woods says, “Turning those situations and those feelings over to God and letting him give you the comfort and the strength to walk whatever valley — that makes all the difference in the journey.”

To that, Salewske chimes in with a cheerful amen.

For Salewske, who still has to work at maintaining a disciplined daily nutrition and exercise routine, that certainly rings true.

At the same time, Salewske is grateful for how far he’s come. He’s blessed with a healthy life that he shares with a wide circle of family and friends as well as a story he shares with everyone he encounters. When you hear that story in person, you can’t help but smile and be inspired. Hope abounds.

Oprah steps in to SAVE Kamala from disaster

“Unite for America” is an event hosted by Oprah Winfrey, who invited Kamala Harris to speak as her star guest.

The event also featured American citizens who were given the chance to voice their concerns over what’s happening in their country — and not surprisingly, Harris struggled to give straightforward answers.

“When you become president, what would be your specific steps to strengthening the border?” one man named Justin asked Harris.

“I, you know, my background was as a prosecutor,” Harris began. “So this is not a theoretical issue for me, this is something I’ve actually worked on.”

“I take very seriously the importance of having a secure border,” she continued.

Pat Gray of “Pat Gray Unleashed” isn’t happy with her answer.

“Why don’t we talk about the fact that you are currently the vice president of the United States of America, tasked with overseeing the border? Huh! Why don’t we discuss that? I’ll tell you why. ‘Cause millions, tens of millions have come across that border on your watch,” Gray says.

Oprah even jumped in at one point to get some laughs from the audience when Harris admitted she was a “gun owner,” acting shocked that Harris would be in possession of a firearm at all.

“I did not know that,” Oprah squealed to laughter from the audience.

“If somebody breaks into my house, they’re getting shot,” Harris confirmed before cackling, “I probably shouldn’t have said that.”

On ‘The View,’ Joe Biden Says He Delegated His Presidency Powers To Kamala Harris

Harris is running as a 'change' candidate despite her status as the incumbent for an administration that even Biden said she ran

What Kamala said during her Oprah interview gives us the ICK

Kamala Harris recently made an appearance with Oprah Winfrey, armed with her phony cackle and her long list of eye-rolling platitudes.

Dave Rubin plays a clip of one moment from the show that is so bad, he jokes that “you might want to sniff some glue or a Sharpie” before you watch it.

“We love our country. I love our country. I know we all do; that's why everybody's here right now. We love our country. We take pride in the privilege of being American, and this is a moment where we can and must come together as Americans, understanding we have so much more in common than what separates us. Let's come together with the character that we are so proud of about who we are, which is we are an optimistic people,” Harris droned in her usual melodramatic fashion. Even Oprah looked skeptical.

Not only are Harris' words utterly “meaningless,” they’re also untrue on multiple levels.

For one, Democrats specifically do not love our country, and they prove it every single day by constantly “telling us that the 1619 Project is real and that America is an evil colonialist nation” and by shoving “white supremacy” down our throats.

“When is it that you're going to see a Democrat with an American flag? It's pretty rare,” says Dave. “Why would you take pride in a country that was founded on racism and slavery that's a white supremacist nation?”

Further, Kamala’s suggestion that we just need to come together is easily debunked when you consider that her entire platform is built on the notion that her political opponent is “a fascist Hitler” and “his supporters are all white supremacists.”

Dave says he’s also uninterested in coming together with a party that is diametrically opposed to everything he believes in.

“I don't particularly want to come together with these people. I have nothing in common with these people, and actually the United States was set up so that we'd have 50 independent states that largely could rule themselves outside of the federal government so that we wouldn't have to come together with these people,” he says.

“If they want their crazy laws and they want their crime and their drugs and … to brainwash children and everything else, well, then they can have it.”

Surprisingly, Kamala’s sappy "let’s come together" speech wasn’t the worst part of her interview with Oprah.

When she got on the subject of guns and told the audience that “if somebody breaks into [her] house, they gettin’ shot,” we got the ick.

And when she said “I probably should not have said that, but my staff will deal with that later,” the ick factor went up tenfold.

Oprah’s Prime-Time Special With Kamala Harris Was A Shameless Tongue Bath

'Can you feel the joy rising in here?' Oprah Winfrey asked Vice President Kamala Harris to open Thursday's prime-time special.

Kamala Harris's Obama Makeover

The DNC's goal was to revive the faded tropes of Obamamania and use them to aid Kamala Harris in November. Entertainment figures who appeared on stage and in the audience turned the proceedings into not just a political event, but also a cultural one. Harris has her own Shepard Fairey poster. Stevie Wonder, who rocked Mile-High Stadium when Obama was nominated in 2008, spoke and sang in Chicago. Oprah Winfrey campaigned with Obama at a critical point in his ascent. She endorsed Harris from the dais. "We won't go back," Winfrey told the adoring hometown crowd. "We won't be sent back, pushed back, bullied back, kicked back. We're not going back."
