'Woke authoritarian agenda': Trudeau Liberals propose life sentences for online 'hate speech'

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's deeply unpopular regime rolled out new legislation Monday that threatens to radically transform the Canadian legal landscape and equip activists with new means of clamping down on speech they perceive to be hateful.

On its face, Bill C-63, the so-called "Online Harms Act," contains various uncontroversial elements such as the promise to tackle child pornography online. While Justice Minister Arif Virani and other Liberal officials have emphasized these elements when promoting the bill, the child protections appear only to be the vehicle for the transformative substance of C-63.

C-63 would enable Trudeau's leftist government to define "hate speech" online; create a stand-alone "hate crime"; set "strict penalties" for perceived offenses; and allow concern-mongers to file complaints without facing the accused.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre stressed the bill is an "attack on freedom of expression."

'Online Harms Act'

According to the Trudeau government, the bill would "create stronger online protection for children and better safeguard everyone in Canada from online hate and other types of harmful content."

To this end, C-63, would hold online platforms, including streaming sites and pornographic websites, "accountable for the design choices made that lead to the dissemination and amplification of harmful content on their platforms."

Legislation has recently been enacted in the United Kingdom with a similar aim.

Extra to holding organizations like Facebook, PornHub, and Twitch responsible for content on their platforms and threatening penalties of up to $25 million, C-63 would:

 • establish an entirely new legislative and regulatory framework;
 • create a brand-new "digital safety" czar;
 • put a definition for "hatred" in the Criminal Code;
 • provide increased penalties for existing "hate propaganda offenses"; and
 • establish a "standalone hate crime offense and creating an additional set of remedies for online hate speech in the Canadian Human Rights Act."

The legislation defines hatred thusly: "the emotion that involves detestation or vilification and that is stronger than disdain or dislike."

Content that foments hatred is defined as that which "expresses detestation or vilification of an individual or group of individuals on the basis of a prohibited ground of discrimination ... and that, given the context in which it is communicated, is likely to foment detestation or vilification of an individual or group of individuals on the basis of such a prohibited ground."

Hate crime offenses, including those related to "sexual orientation or gender identity or expression," would carry a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

So-called "hate propaganda" offenses would land offenders anywhere from a few years in prison to life, the maximum sentence being reserved for those advocating for genocide against an identifiable group.

C-63 would afford anybody including grievance groups the ability to file complaints with the Canadian Human Rights Commission against users who have supposedly posted hate speech online. According to the Trudeau government, the bill would also outline procedures to "protect the confidentiality of complainants and witnesses as appropriate."

True North News indicated that those the CHRC finds guilty can be hit with fines up to $70,000 — $20,000 for so-called victims and $50,000 for the government "if the member panel considers it appropriate" — as well as take-down orders for content.

'Woke authoritarian agenda'

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, presently poised to defeat Trudeau in the next federal election, told Canadian state media ahead of the bill's reveal that he will not accept "Justin Trudeau's woke authoritarian agenda," adding that the Liberal regime should not be deciding what constitutes "hate speech."

"Justin Trudeau said anyone who criticized him during the pandemic was engaging in hate speech," said Poilievre.

Around the time in 2022 his Liberal cabinet members contemplated deploying tanks against peaceful protesters, Trudeau called the Freedom Convoy truckers a "small fringe minority of people who are on their way to Ottawa, who are holding unacceptable views that are expressing."

"What does Justin Trudeau mean when he says the words 'hate speech'? He means the speech he hates," continued Poilievre. "You can assume he will ban all of that."

The Conservative leader stressed that Trudeau is the last person in Canada who ought to be defining hatred.

"I point out the irony that someone who spent the first half of his adult life as a practicing racist, who dressed up in hideous racist costumes so many times he says he can't remember them all, should then be the arbiter of what constitutes hate," said Poilievre. "What he should actually do is look into his own heart and ask himself why he was such a hateful racist."

When asked about the bill last week, Trudeau suggested that criticism of C-63 and the notion that it is censorious amounted to more "misinformation" from the right.

Liberal Justice Minister Virani maintains that C-63 is not another effort by the Liberal regime to clamp down on free speech.

"I want to be crystal clear about what the Online Harms Act does not do," said Virani. "It does not undermine freedom of speech. It enhances free expression by empowering all people to safely participate in online debate."

Police arrest reporter after he asked Trudeau's deputy about the Canadian regime's failure to call out terrorism

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps shot down a Ukrainian commercial airliner on Jan. 8, 2020, killing 176 people, including 55 Canadian citizens and 30 permanent residents. On the anniversary of the fatal attack Monday, a Canadian reporter dared to ask Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's second-in-command why the Liberal government has so far failed to designate the IRGC a terrorist organization.

Instead of an answer, the reporter received handcuffs.

David Menzies is a reporter with Rebel News, one of the few media outfits in Canada that does not receive funding from the Trudeau government. Trudeau and his Liberal Party have long been antagonistic toward Rebel News, denying the outfit accreditation to cover political debates; accusing its reporters of spreading vaccine misinformation; and suggesting it was increasing polarization in the country amidst draconian COVID lockdowns.

Unfazed by his alleged assault by Trudeau's bodyguards in 2021, Menzies peacefully approached Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland in a Toronto suburb Monday and asked the former journalist, "Ms. Freeland, how come the IRGC is not a terrorist group?"

Freeland, unaccustomed to a confrontational media, refused to respond and kept walking. However, Menzies kept pace with the Liberal parliamentarian, asking, "Why is your government supporting Islamo-nationalism?"

Menzies found himself having to circumnavigate a metal post but was confronted on the other side by another obstacle: a federal RCMP officer. Without identifying himself as a law enforcement official, the plainclothes officer prevented Menzies' progress down the public sidewalk.

Menzies responded to his brutal treatment off-camera, saying, "Excuse me, what are you doing?"

The RCMP officer can be seen in footage of the incident gripping the reporter, then slamming him against a bus-stop billboard.

"You're under arrest for assault," says the officer, as he roughs up the reporter and puts Menzies' hands behind his back.

Freeland, smiling, walks away

"How am I under arrest?" asks a bewildered Menzies. "You bumped into me. You bumped — I was just scrumming. I've got my credentials here and you just bumped into me."

The reporter asked for the officer's name and badge number, but the RCMP officer refused to answer. Instead, the officer told him, "You're under arrest for assaulting a police officer."

As multiple York Regional Police officers were later carting away the nonviolent reporter, Menzies told his cameraman, "Welcome to blackface's Canada," alluding to Trudeau's apparent affinity for dressing up in blackface on numerous occasions. "This is what they do to journalists. I was merely scrumming minister Freeland and a RCMP officer blocked me. And, evidently, this is now a trumped-up charge of assault, folks."

Days earlier, Toronto police took a different approach to anti-Israeli extremists who were blockading a Jewish facility. Rather than roughing them up, police officers ferried over coffees for the blockaders.

"I didn't come here to cause any trouble. I came here to do my job. And now I'm handcuffed," Menzies said on his way to the back of a police cruiser. "Meanwhile, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is not a terrorist organization? Is not a terrorist organization?! And these Liberals have the audacity to show up at a vigil for a plane in which almost 200 people were killed. 57 Canadians, one unborn child, by the way."

— (@)

Andrew Lawton, president of the not-for-profit Independent Press Gallery of Canada, said in a statement, "Police are there to uphold the law and public safety, not to prevent politicians from being asked questions by journalists who the government will not permit to ask questions in official settings."

"The Independent Press Gallery calls on police, particularly those tasked with protecting elected officials, to cease the practice of arresting working journalists who are not posing a threat to public safety or breaking the law," added Lawton.

Lawton later confirmed that Menzies was ultimately released without charges.

Ezra Levant, the publisher of Rebel New, vowed to sue the RCMP, Freeland, and the York Regional Police on Menzies' behalf for false arrest, false imprisonment, malicious prosecution, and assault.

Pierre Poilievre, the leader of the Conservative Party now poised to unseat Trudeau in the next federal election, wrote, "This is the state of freedom of the press. In Canada. In 2024. After 8 years of Trudeau."

Jay Bhattacharya, professor at the Stanford School of Medicine and co-author of the "Great Barrington Declaration," noted on X, "Freeland and Trudeau froze the bank accounts of protestors, threw pastors in jail for holding church, and violated the basic civil rights of unvaccinated Canadians. Now, her police gin up excuses to arrest journalists they don't like. This Canadian government is a disgrace."

Bhattacharya failed to mention how the Trudeau government also discussed possibly using German-made Leopard 2 tanks, designed to engage Russian heavy armor in battle, against the peaceful trucker protesters.

While unwilling to recognize those responsible for the downing of Flight PS752 as terrorists — as the U.S. has since April 15, 2019 — Trudeau nevertheless turned up Monday at the vigil for their victims, reported the National Post.

Trudeau floated the idea of a terrorist designation, but did not commit, saying, "We know there is more to do to hold the regime to account and we will continue our work, including continuing to look for ways to responsibly list the IRGC as a terrorist organization."

According to the U.S. State Department, the IRGC "has been directly involved in terrorist plotting; its support for terrorism is foundational and institutional, and it has killed U.S. citizens. It is also responsible for taking hostages and wrongfully detaining numerous U.S. persons, several of whom remain in captivity in Iran today."

In addition to plotting a foiled terrorist attack on American soil in 2011, the IRGC was found liable for the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing, which killed 19 Americans.

Anti-Israel radicals terrorize families trying to take their kids to see mall Santa

Protesters and terror apologists critical of Israel's military response to the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks have taken to routinely shutting down freeways, lashing out at passersby, and chanting murderous slogans. They have recently adapted their tactics, hijacking holiday festivities and descending on malls to intimidate people into adopting their views.

Families across Canada hoping to shop and create happy Christmastime memories were among those recently subjected to anti-Israeli protestors' ravings.

Footage taken Friday at Ottawa's Bayshore Shopping Center shows protesters terrorizing families lined up to see Santa. The mall Santa appears to struggle to maintain his composure as children — overwhelmed by the loud and angry mob beating on drums and issuing accusations of genocide — are handed back and forth.

One of the chants directed toward toddlers and other terrified children claimed, "Jesus was Palestinian."

Protesters also shouted, "While you're shopping, bombs are dropping," repeatedly at families waiting for an opportunity to meet the man in red.

— (@)

Anti-Israeli protesters similarly swarmed the Eaton Center downtown Toronto on Friday, targeting businesses with Jewish and Israeli links and forcing a number of them to temporarily close, reported the Toronto Star.

Zara, for instance, was swarmed because its franchise owner Joey Schwebel, a Canadian-Israeli, has signaled support for the Israeli lawmaker Itamar Ben Gvir in the past. Similar protests against Zara have reportedly taken place in Turkey, Germany, and Australia.

— (@)

Anti-Israeli mobs also swarmed the Scotiabank and the book store Indigo at the Eaton Center, singling them out for their historic support of Israel. These two establishments are frequent targets of anti-Israeli protesters, the latter especially on account of its founder's pro-Israel charity. Last month, protesters forced Scotiabank to lock down its headquarters in Toronto for several hours and Indigo was vandalized in an attack police suspect was "hate-motivated."

Extra to the usual implicitly violent rhetoric, one masked man at the protest can be seen in a viral video uttering what appears to be an outright death threat in the presence of police officers.

— (@)

Similar protests also took place in Toronto's Yorkdale mall as well as in Vancouver and Burnaby, British Columbia, where protesters chanted "shame on you" to shoppers and Jewish-linked businesses alike.

CityNews indicated that the protesters in Burnaby chanted, "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," widely regarded as a call for Israel's ruination. The mob also chanted "End the occupation now" and "No more genocide."

The organizing parties behind the Burnaby protest included Healthcare Workers Alliance for Palestine, the Canada Palestine Association, and the Palestine Youth Movement.

Justin Trudeau and his Liberal government blasted for giving two standing ovations to a veteran Waffen-SS Nazi days before Yom Kippur

It turns out that unrestrained eugenics is not the only thing out of the Third Reich that Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party of Canada has found cause to celebrate.

After Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered an address to the Canadian Parliament on Friday, Liberal House Speaker Anthony Rota lavished praise on a 98-year-old who had served with Heinrich Himmler's Waffen-SS in World War II. Trudeau and his socialist ally Jagmeet Singh, head of the NDP, joined Rota and their respective parties in honoring the Nazi veteran with two standing ovations just days ahead of Yom Kippur.

Critics, including the leaders of various Jewish groups, have unloaded on the Canadian government — especially on the Trudeau Liberals who have previously had troubling ties with anti-Semites and accused those with whom they've disagreed of being Nazis.

A Nazi on Parliament Hill

House Speaker Rota, a parliamentary member of Trudeau's Liberal Party, invited Yaroslav Hunka to Parliament, introducing him Friday as a war hero "who fought [for] the Ukrainian independence against the Russians and continues to support the troops today."

This introduction took place after Zelenskyy thanked Canada for its support of Ukraine's defense against Russian invaders, which has taken the form of over $6.6 billion in aid since January 2022, reported the Washington Post.

"I am very proud to say that he is from North Bay and from my riding of Nipissing-Timiskaming," Rota said of Hunka. "He is a Ukrainian hero, a Canadian hero, and we thank him for all his service."

Members of Parliament jumped to their feet, applauding the emotional Nazi veteran who responded with dual thumbs up.

The Western Standard reported that among those cheering on Hunka was Ya'ara Saks, a Liberal member of Parliament who previously accused the peaceful trucker convoy protesters of being Nazis, claiming that "honk honk" "is an acronym for 'heil Hitler.'"

Trudeau, who similarly cheered on the Nazi veteran, previously accused Conservative politicians who supported the trucker convoy of standing with "people who wave swastikas" whilst his own government discussed possibly using German Leopard 2 tanks on unarmed protesters.

Although sympathetic to the Liberal Party, Canadian state media later conceded that Hunka had served under Nazi command in the Waffen-SS Galicia Division, a voluntary unit also known as the SS 14th Waffen Division or the First Ukrainian Division.

According to the Holocaust Encyclopedia, the Waffen-SS was "heavily involved in the commission of the Holocaust through their participation in mass shootings, anti-partisan warfare, and in supplying guards for Nazi concentration camps."

Hunka's unit also committed atrocities against the Polish resistance during the war and committed massacres of adults and children alike, such as in the village of Huta Pieniacka.

Hunka's unit was deemed a criminal organization by the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg.

Backlash

While Rota evidently has trouble differentiating between Nazi veterans and the Canadian war heroes who helped ensure their defeat, others suffered no such difficulty.

B'nai Brith Canada CEO Michael Mostyn noted that Hunka's unite comprised "ultra-nationalist ideologues" who "dreamed of an ethnically homogenous Ukrainian state and endorsed the idea of ethnic cleansing," reported CTV News.

"We understand an apology is forthcoming. We expect a meaningful apology. Parliament owes an apology to all Canadians for this outrage, and a detailed explanation as to how this could possibly have taken place at the centre of Canadian democracy," added Mostyn.

The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs wrote on X, "Canada's Jewish community stands firmly with Ukraine in its war against Russian aggression. But we can't stay silent when crimes committed by Ukrainians during the Holocaust are whitewashed."

Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies stated Sunday, "The fact that a veteran who served in a Nazi military unit was invited to and given a standing ovation in Parliament is shocking. At a time of rising antisemitism and Holocaust distortion, it is incredibly disturbing to see Canada's Parliament rise to applaud an individual who was a member of a unit in the Waffen-SS, a Nazi military branch responsible for the murder of Jews and others and that was declared a criminal organization during the Nuremberg Trials."

"There should be no confusion that this unit was responsible for the mass murder of innocent civilians with a level of brutality and malice that is unimaginable," added FSWC.

Sebastian Skamski, spokesman for Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre's office, said, "We find the reports of this individual's history very troubling," adding that Trudeau's Liberals had some explaining to do.

Poilievre said in a statement, "This is an appalling error in judgement on the part of Justin Trudeau, whose personal protocol office is responsible for arranging and vetting all guests and programming for state visits of this kind."

"No parliamentarians (other than Justin Trudeau) had the opportunity to vet this individual's past before he was introduced and honoured on the floor of the House of Commons," added Poilievre. "Without warning or context, it was impossible for any parliamentarian in the room (other than Mr. Trudeau) to know of this dark past."

Jagmeet Singh, the leader of the socialistic NDP whose support ensures Trudeau's Liberal Party won't have to face an election, said, "This event has caused harm to the Jewish community and for that, I am sorry. ... We must all stand together against the rising tide of anti-Semitism."

Apologies and blame

After it was revealed that the Liberal speaker had championed a former Nazi in the people's Parliament, Trudeau's office rushed to displace blame.

A spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office stated, "The independent Speaker of the House has apologized and accepted full responsibility for issuing the invitation and for the recognition in Parliament. This was the right thing to do."

Rota jumped on the proverbial Waffen-SS grenade, claiming the initiative was "entirely my own."

"I have subsequently become aware of more information which causes me to regret my decision," said Rota. "I wish to make clear that no one, including fellow parliamentarians and the Ukraine delegation, was aware of my intention or of my remarks before I delivered them."

Trudeau's Liberals appear to have had issues distancing themselves from anti-Semitic causes in recent years.

Trudeau's Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland, granddaughter of a Nazi collaborator, was accused last year of posing with a "pro-Nazi" banner, reported the Post.

Freeland had apparently held up the colors of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army at a protest last year — contentious because one of its factions, led by Stepan Bandera, allied with the Nazis and murdered thousands of Jews and around 100,000 Poles.

TheBlaze previously reported that the Trudeau Liberal government also gave a sizable taxpayer-funded grand to a purported anti-racism advocacy group in 2022 that turned out to have a raging anti-Semite as a top consultant.

Thousands take to the streets across Canada as part of parental rights protests against LGBT indoctrination in schools

From coast to coast, multitudes of Canadian parents, students, and other critics of LGBT indoctrination took to the streets this week as part of the One Million March for Children.

Pre-emptively demonized by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau; the leader of his allied socialist party, Jagmeet Singh; and other leftist politicians, the protesters emphasized Wednesday that educators have no business secretly grooming children and pushing radical gender ideology in the classroom.

The group that organized the protests noted on its website that it comprises people of diverse backgrounds and faiths who have come together to advocate for "the elimination of the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) curriculum, pronouns, gender ideology and mixed bathrooms in schools."

In Canadian cities such as Calgary, Edmonton, Lethbridge, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver, thousands of protesters carried signs that read, "Leave our kids alone," "Hands off our kids," "Parental choice matters," and "You don't own our kids."

"I believe the system now is bullying us, and bullying our kids especially, and they're trying to push things into our kids' throats by promoting this SOGI and sexual orientation," Mahmoud Mourra, a local organizer, told the Calgary Herald. "We have nothing against them other than one request: the kids should be left alone. I'm not saying to force my ideologies on the kids, but don’t force your ideology on my kids."

Clinical psychologist Jordan Peterson, whose wife, Tammy, spoke out at the protest, noted online, "Hey world[,] These are Canadian parents Opposing The liars and butchers ... of children under @JustinTrudeau."

"It's against humanity. They give kids rights to change their gender, but they are too young to understand," said Sara Algabron, a mother at the protests. "They are taking our rights and they are too young to make this decision. If they need to change their gender in the future, OK, but why now? They're kids."

Tensions over LGBT propaganda and the erosion of parental rights have been rising in Canada over the past several months.

TheBlaze previously reported that protests erupted in June after a trio of Ottawa-Carleton District School Board superintendents issued instructions telling teachers to use "they/them pronouns" when referring to all students, not just those with gender dysphoria.

As in other Canadian school districts, the superintendents clarified that "2SLGBTQ+ learnings ... are not open to debate or selective participation."

In one school in Edmonton, Alberta, Muslim students were reportedly told they "can't be Canadian" if they refused to participate in LGBT events.

It appears as though a significant number of Canucks have been pushed too far.

Thousands showed up in the nation's capital Wednesday to make their opposition to LGBT propaganda in the classrooms heard. Their numbers reportedly greatly dwarfed their opposition, who, ostensibly not content with having an entire "Pride Season" to advance their agenda, sought to drown out the voices of concerned parents.

— (@)

Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe denounced the peaceful anti-grooming protesters, stating, "I respect the right to protest, however the specific targeting of 2SLGBTQIA+ children for being who they are has no place in our city. The protests taking place today will only cause harm to youth who are looking for our support and acceptance. I stand with Ottawa’s 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Please know that you are valued and are always welcome here."

Trudeau, whose government discussed possibly using German-made Leopard 2 tanks against unarmed peaceful protesters last year, tweeted, "Let me make one thing very clear: Transphobia, homophobia, and biphobia have no place in this country. We strongly condemn this hate and its manifestations, and we stand united in support of 2SLGBTQI+ Canadians across the country – you are valid and you are valued."

Jagmeet Singh, the socialist multimillionaire who runs Canada's eugenicist-founded NDP, joined counter-protesters in Ottawa, carrying a rainbow banner that said, "Pride not prejudice."

Referencing the new requirements in the provinces of New Brunswick and Saskatchewan that require students to get parental consent before teachers can use their made-up pronouns and preferred first names, Singh claimed, "We've seen a lot of attacks on vulnerable people, attacks on the queer community, the trans community," reported the Ottawa Citizen.

Lyra Evans, the transvestite chairman of the scandal-plagued Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, similarly attended the counter-protest, saying, "There are signs saying 'Leave kids alone.' ... That's somewhat ironic given they're trying to police what kids can and cannot do."

While puberty blockers and sex-change operations render victims sterile, one protester told the Citizen, "I think trans kids are the future. They bring love into the world where there is so much hate."

Similar protests and counter-protests turned up in various other cities, including Edmonton, Alberta.

— (@)

Jason Schilling, president of the Alberta Teachers' Association, told the Herald, "Using 'parental consent' as camouflage, this rally was part of a coordinated strike across North America to promote misinformation, intolerance, and hate toward the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, as well as toward teachers who work to protect the safety and well-being of all students."

Rachel Notley, Alberta's former premier whom voters overwhelmingly rejected in 2019, claimed, "Those who seek to normalize trans hate will then move on to racism and misogyny. We can’t let that happen."

The organizers of the One Million March for Childrenindicated on X, "The Canadian people, who are truly awesome, embody the incredible spirit that makes our country great, and that spirit shines brightly in all of you. Rest assured, we are not here for a fleeting moment; our commitment is to amplify our voices even further as we move forward."

Protests mounting and Pride flags underfoot after Ottawa teachers told to refer to all students with 'they/them pronouns' and prohibit opt-outs from '2SLGBTQ+ learnings'

In its latest effort to force staff and students to fully embrace LGBT activism and gender ideology, an Ottawa school board appears to have found Canadians' breaking point.

Upon learning that students will no longer be referred to as boys or girls, but will rather be addressed as sexless pluralities, protesters took to the streets, demanding that the leftist administrators "leave the kids alone."

How did it start?

A trio of Ottawa-Carleton District School Board superintendents reportedly sent a letter to staff May 31 entitled, "Supporting Inclusivity: Actions for Pride Month and Beyond." The letter, obtained by Chanel Pfahl, a school trustee candidate, clarified that nothing save for total submission to LGBT precepts would be acceptable in the district.

Mary Jane Farrish, the superintendent of equity instruction, Shannon Smith, superintendent of indigenous education instruction, and Brent Smith, acting superintendent of program and learning, stressed that "2SLGBTQ+" representation in the curriculum and classroom is a "fundamental human right."

Accordingly, staff must embed resources that "accurately reflect and honor 2SLGBTQ+ identities into curriculum subjects and the overall learning environment, from Kindergarten to Grade 12."

The superintendents noted that honoring non-straight "identities" and peddling LGBT propaganda in every grade were only partial measures.

Teachers were further instructed to use "they/them pronouns" when referring to all students, not just those with gender dysphoria.

Extra to asking teachers to apply a blanket denial of biological reality in their engagement with students, the superintendents underscored that "2SLGBTQ+ learnings should be offered to the school community without the option to opt out. It is essential to understand that human rights are not open to debate or selective participation."

The Counter Signal reported that last week there was a silent protest in the district: absenteeism skyrocketed on the first day of Pride, with absences reaching above 60% in two schools and over 40% in nine others.

Elsewhere in Canada, TheBlaze recently reported that Muslim students were told they "can't be Canadian" if they refused to participate in LGBT events.

Concerning the prohibitions on opt-outs, OCDSB spokesman Darcy Knoll told the Epoch Times said, "When providing learning experiences, we do not offer proactive exemptions or excuse students from the learning on the basis that we may be highlighting a particular group of people defined by their race, religion/creed, ability, sexual orientation or gender identity. This would result in sending a message that a group of people in our community is not valued and do not belong."

As for the letter itself, Knoll said the idea was "to suggest some actions that can be taken during Pride Month and beyond to promote inclusivity and belonging in our schools."

While the OCDSB presently officially celebrates Pride Month," it may soon follow suit with the Canadian government, which celebrates "Pride Season."

Not going to take it anymore

The Ottawa Sun reported that British Columbia-based Chris Elston, critic of gender ideology and father of two who goes by "Billboard Chris" online, joined other demonstrators outside of Notre Dame High School Friday for a rally called "Education over Indoctrination.

Elston forewarned Ottawa residences in April that he was coming, stating, "No more silence."

The OCDSB issued a statement ahead of the protest, noting, "This individual, as well as others associated with this demonstration, have a history of aligning with and promoting inflammatory, transphobic, and hateful content against members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community."

"There are many in the community who are deeply concerned about these protests and wondering how to respond," continued the statement. “We encourage you to keep your message positive, promote the inclusive nature of our community, and share your support for 2SLGBTQ+ students, staff and community members, but do not create additional risks outside of schools."

Masked leftists attacked Elston at the rally, though he did not appear to take the bait.

Josh Alexander, the teen suspended from his high school in Renfrew, Ontario, after stating in class that God created only two genders, also attended the protest.

Parents, students, and other concerned citizens chanted, "Save our kids."

Just as various faith groups united in opposition to LGBT propaganda Tuesday in Rockville, Maryland, Muslim and Christian parents in Ottawa denounced the OCDSB's plan to force non-binary pronouns on kids, reported the Counter Signal.

During the protest, some protesters and their children stomped Pride flags.

Counterprotesters, some carting around signs that said, "Pride Not Prejudice," reported chanted, "Trans rights are human rights."

The black-clad militants among the pro-LGBT demonstrators also chanted, "Go home fascists."

CTV News indicated that five people were arrested at the rally.

LGBT activists are greatly troubled by the resistance they are now seeing by parents and students.

"We’re dealing with probably some of the scariest forms of pushback against LGBTQ2 rights, in particular to those who are transgender and non-binary," Debbie Owusu-Akyeeah, executive director of the Canadian Center for Gender and Sexual Diversity, told Global News. "We’re seeing a much more coordinated attack in areas that we’ve never seen before, including school board meetings, including Pride events, whether it’s drag story time – these are all new tactics that we’re seeing."

LGBT official at one of Canada's largest school boards peddles claim that Jesus was 'a drag queen' on Good Friday

An LGBT activist who doubles as an official in one of Canada's biggest school boards was apparently careful to spare Muhammad and his followers offense during Ramadan, but sure to denigrate Jesus Christ during Holy Week.

Sara Savoia, Ottawa-Carleton District School Board's “Trans and Gender Diverse Student Support Coordinator,” reportedly tweeted on Good Friday, "Here's a reminder that Jesus himself was a radical activist... and a drag queen. And also not white. Happy Easter to all those celebrating!"

Accompanying Savoia's message was an illustration depicting Jesus speaking to children, which was captioned, "Oh look, it's a man in a dress telling stories to children."

Savoia — a female former teacher who provides plural pronouns and claims "Trans rights are non-negotiable" in her Twitter profile — has since locked her personal account (but not her OCDSB-affiliated "2sLGBTQ+" account), as she was met with significant backlash over her remarks.

Before Savoia hid her tweet history, Chanel Pfahl — the former MonAvenir Catholic School Board high school science teacher who was placed under investigation by the Ontario College of Teachers last year for opposing critical race theory — managed to snap a screenshot:

“Happy Easter everyone! 🐣

And a reminder from OCDSB’s gender consultant:”

Dr. Aaron Rock, a pastor at Harvest Bible Church, told the conservative Canadian publication True North that "the very notion that (Jesus) dressed as a woman so he could entertain children is offensive to all Christians and unbecoming a public official."

Jesus' clothing, as depicted in the illustration, "matched with the Jewish customs of his day for men, as evidenced in the gambling away of his clothing to Roman soldiers at the foot of the cross," said Rock.

Rock added, "He is both 100% God, ensuring he lived his life on earth with absolute holiness, and 100% man, living his life in accordance with God’s creational design for a human male."

This is not the first time Savoia has tried to stick it to Christians, having previously called for the elimination of Catholic schools.

Catholics helped establish and found Canada with the guarantee that they could have their own separate school board. The Canadian Fathers of Confederation conceded that without this guarantee "being embodied in that new constitution, we should have been unable to obtain any Confederation whatever."

Despite this historic admission — that there would be no Canada without protection for Catholic schools — Savoia stressed in an October 2022 tweet that if Catholic schools maintain their traditional values, they should be eliminated.

"If that religion cannot change its practice of teaching children that there is something wrong with them because of their sexual orientation … then we should stop that religion from having a separate education system," wrote Savoia.

Jonathan Kay, an editor at Quillette, highlighted several other remarks Savoia made online, indicating she is not just antipathetic to orthodox Christianity but to biological realism as well.

In one instance, Savoia bragged about prompting grade five students to consider whether "2 trans ppl would be able to procreate. We listened to multiple stories including dads who carry the baby as he is the one who houses the uterus #SexEdisCritical."

Savoia noted in another tweet that "7/30 of my current Gr 4/5 students have talked to me re: their fluid gender & sexual identities. Do they feel comfortable because I implement Queer & Trans Education year round? Most likely. 'Bcuz they are seen, heard, & (as much as possible) understood."

Responding to a tweet from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, which stated, "The right to choose is a woman's right and a woman's right alone. Every woman in Canada has a right to a safe and legal abortion," Savoia suggested that it was important to ensure "this statement is true and applicable to ALL people with vaginas. Not just self-identified womxn. #MenCanHaveBabiesToo."

True North reported that on "International Pronouns Day," Savoia encouraged teachers to discuss gender pronouns with elementary school students and to incorporate the exercise in indoctrination into arts and crafts.

Administrators of the OCDSB's "Equity Program" reportedly work with schools to "intervene" against "microaggressions against 2SLBTQ+ students," although it is unclear from the board's site whether similar interventions are made to stop anti-Christian bigotry.

Canada's top intelligence agency: Chinese communist regime worked to help Justin Trudeau win 2021 election, calling his liberals 'the only party that the PRC can support'

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has previously noted his admiration for China's "basic dictatorship." According to Canada's top spy agency, that admiration may go both ways.

The Globe and Mail reported that secret and top-secret Canadian Security Intelligence Service documents have exposed how the genocidal Chinese regime conducted an interference operation throughout the 2021 election cycle in Canada, which saw Trudeau's Liberal Party hold onto power. Trudeau's government went on to declare martial law, freeze peaceful protesters' bank accounts, and exercise some other qualities its leader may have admired in other governments.

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has accused Trudeau of ignoring the interference because it managed to benefit his scandal-plagued party.

What are the details?

According to the Globe and Mail, CSIS found that an "orchestrated machine" was operating in Canada with two aims: "to ensure that a minority Liberal government was returned in 2021, and that certain Conservative candidates identified by China were defeated."

The leadership of the Chinese Communist Party was "pressuring its consulates to create strategies to leverage politically [active] Chinese community members and associations within Canadian society," said the report.

TheBlaze previously reported that CCP agents have been conducting extralegal and clandestine policing operations in Canada to intimidate and hunt down persons wanted by Beijing. Safeguard Defenders, a European pan-Asian human rights NGO, revealed that at least three communist police stations were operating in Toronto alone. Those observed by the CSIS appear to be of a higher caliber and scope.

The CSIS documents indicated that Chinese agents were politically weaponized against conservatives and put to work making sure that Trudeau was reelected, albeit with a relatively impotent minority government.

One consular official at an unnamed Chinese diplomatic mission in Canada claimed ahead of the election that China liked "it when the parties in Parliament are fighting with each other, whereas if there is a majority, the party in power can easily implement policies that do not favour the PRC."

While the Liberal Party may have been superficially critical of China, the official suggested that Trudeau's cadre was still preferable to the Conservative Party.

To ensure Trudeau could carry on with his "sunny ways," CCP forces "employed disinformation campaigns and proxies connected to Chinese-Canadian organizations" in populous areas such as the Greater Toronto Area and Vancouver, in an effort to pit Chinese immigrant communities against Conservatives and to support the Trudeau Liberals.

When pitting immigrants against Trudeau's opposition, Chinese operatives claimed that Conservatives were too critical of China and might endeavor to follow former President Donald Trump's lead and take measures to prevent Beijing's agents from stealing intellectual property, spying, and other such international improprieties.

The consular official underscored that "the Liberal Party of Canada is becoming the only party that the PRC can support."

Extra to smearing the Conservatives on behalf of Trudeau's party — and, by extension, a regime running open concentration camps — Chinese agents reportedly employed various tactics to boost Liberals, such as "undeclared cash donations to political campaigns or having business owners hire international Chinese students and 'assign them to volunteer in electoral campaigns on a full-time basis.'"

Those who shelled out money for CCP-designated candidates not only benefitted from tax credits from Trudeau's federal government, but were returned "the difference between the original donation and the government's refund" by CCP forces.

The CSIS noted that China's former consul general in Vancouver, Tong Xialing, was among the operatives adamant that the Liberal Party win the 2021 election.

After allegedly doing the CCP's bidding, Tong, formerly China's ambassador to Brunei, returned to China in 2022.

Charles Burton, a former diplomat in Canada’s Beijing embassy and a senior fellow with the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, said "The fact that her posting extended for an unusually long period of five years suggests that the Chinese Communist Party felt that her job performance was furthering China's agenda in the Vancouver area very well," reported the Bowen Island Undercurrent.

In addition to helping the CCP and the Trudeau Liberals beat the Conservatives, Tong sought to downplay the possibility that COVID-19 originated in China, demanding that the Province newspaper apologize for using the words "China virus." Tong was also instrumental in getting badly needed personal protective equipment out of Canada and in China at the outset of the pandemic.

Burton noted in August 2022 that Tong had been "exceptionally effective" in advancing China's United Front Work Department foreign influence program, which the Australian Strategic Policy Institute reportedly recognized not only as the "exportation of the CCP's political system," but a calculated means to undermine social cohesion, increase racial acrimony, and facilitate CCP crimes against foreign nations.

While effective, Tong was merely a cog in a vast and comprehensive "machine" geared toward weakening Canada and cementing Trudeau's grasp on power.

This campaign was not limited to 2021, however.

According to the report, members of the Canadian parliament are now looking into allegations that Beijing similarly worked to elect 11 mostly Liberal candidates in 2019.

An unredacted 2020 national security document revealed that the CCP utilized so-called community groups to covertly move money from Chinese officials to Canadian members of an election interference network, reported Global News.

The document underscored that such operations were "likely to be more persistent and pervasive in future elections."

To the victor goes the indifference

Trudeau claimed in November that he had no knowledge of China funding federal candidates during the 2019 and 2021 elections, and he dodged questions about whether he was ever informed of efforts by the genocidal regime to meddle in Canadian politics, reported the Globe and Mail.

Trudeau's government set up a task force to monitor security and intelligence threats to elections, which similarly failed to acknowledge or issue public warnings about foreign interference.

Concerning the most recent revelations, the leftist prime minister — narrowly cleared last week for declaring martial law in early 2022 to bring an end to a peaceful anti-vaccine mandate protest — downplayed Beijing's meddling and corresponding efforts to help him as "not a new phenomenon" and as "something that countries around the world have been grappling with for a long time."

Former Conservative leader Erin O'Toole, whose party won the popular vote in the 2021 election, but failed to secure enough seats in parliament, noted that his party lost at least eight seats owing to Chinese election interference.

Tom Kmiec, a member of parliament, asked, "Did the prime minister turn a blind eye to foreign interference because he stood to gain from it politically?"

Current Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre claimed Friday that "Justin Trudeau knew about this interference, and he covered it up because he benefited from it. ... He's perfectly happy to let a foreign, authoritarian government interfere in our elections as long as they're helping him."

“This explains a lot today.”
— Pierre Poilievre (@Pierre Poilievre) 1676657672

Canadian state media — which Poilievre has both implied is a propaganda outfit for the Trudeau Liberals and promised to defund — parroted Trudeau's suggestion that the Chinese interference did not ultimately change the outcome of the election.

"Canada has some of the best and most robust elections in the world, and all Canadians can have total confidence that the outcomes of the 2019 and 2021 elections were determined by Canadians, and Canadians alone, at the voting booth," said Trudeau.

A CSIS spokesman told Canadian state media, "Although Canada's electoral system is strong, foreign interference can erode trust and threaten the integrity of our democratic institutions, political system, fundamental rights and freedoms, and ultimately, our sovereignty."

The agency's findings have reportedly been shared among senior government officials, as well as Canada's Five Eyes intelligence allies, including the United States.

The Montreal Gazette reported that David Mulroney, Canada's former ambassador to China, recently told a parliamentary committee that the nation must be ready and willing to kick out Chinese diplomats involved in interference or harassment.

A "failure to do so only encourages increasingly brazen meddling," added Mulroney.

33 organizations sign letter seeking to cancel 'racist' and 'homophobic' Jordan Peterson event

A coalition of 33 groups have signed a letter in hopes that the city of Ottawa, Canada, and the hosting arena will cancel an upcoming Jordan Peterson event as a part of his international tour.

The Jan. 30, 2023, event is slated to take place at the Canadian Tire Centre, with activists calling on the arena and even asking Peterson's own talent representatives, Creative Arts Agency (CAA), to cancel the show and drop him as a client.

The letter predominantly blames Peterson's support of the Canadian freedom convoy/trucker protest of 2022, which the letter says led to hundreds of phone calls to police and shutting down the bus network for disabled people.

"Despite this egregious situation, Peterson was an avid supporter of the so-called 'Freedom Convoy' that spurred the occupation," the letter reads, taking issue with Peterson also having members of the convoy on his podcast.

The letter goes on to say that Peterson's ideas are "misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, and racist" and lead to an increased environment of "hate, especially toward the trans community."

It also says that the professor's rhetoric is "toxic" and "often violent."

The signatories also blame Peterson for what they describe as a series of anti-transgender protests in front of high schools "with arguments similar to those of Peterson."

The letter also remarks on whether or not the group's request for the event's cancellation is akin to censorship, declaring that while what Peterson says is not exactly hate speech, his rhetoric "veers" toward it and as such should not be allowed.

"Peterson and his followers will often argue that protesting or calling for the cancellation of his events is akin to censorship. However, we are not writing this letter simply because we disagree with his ideas but because the ideas espoused by Peterson directly jeopardize the safety and well-being of marginalized communities, especially women and transgender people," the letter states.

"In short, there is a difference between free speech and hate speech. The views of Dr. Peterson clearly veer more towards the latter. The tolerance of differing ideas is about mutual respect and dignity. We believe the views expressed by Peterson and his supporters reflect neither of these values," the decree adds.

The letter closes asking all parties involved to cancel the event, if they "truly value the lives and well-being of equity-seeking groups."

Included in the group asking for censorship are Planned Parenthood Ottawa, the Democratic Socialists of Canada Ottawa-Gatineau Chapter, Ottawa Dyke March, the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity, and the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum.
