Dave Rubin: 'SLOBBERING' media fawn over Biden, call for MORE censorship of conservatives

On Wednesday's episode of "The Rubin Report," host Dave Rubin mocked the mainstream media over the embarrassing coverage of the Biden inauguration and discussed the increasing calls for censorship of conservative voices.

Dave called out the "slobbering" so-called journalists who fawned shamelessly over President Joe Biden, such as CNN's David Chalian who described the side lights on the national mall as "extensions of Joe Biden's arms embracing America," adding that it "was a moment where the new president came to town and sort of convened the country in this moment of remembrance, outstretching his arms."

"Extensions of Joe Biden's arms, hugging, embracing, fondling America. Can you feel the love?" Dave said mockingly. "I could show you a gajillion ... of those types of clips, of the slobbering people. All right, that's the way we're going to do this? [...] It's just so sad and pathetic."

Dave also reacted to the intensifying calls for Big Tech to "do something" about the threat of conservative content and its ability to influence people. He noted in particular former top Facebook official Alex Stamos, who recently said, "We have to turn down the capability of these conservative influencers to reach these huge audiences," during an appearance on CNN's "Reliable Sources."

Stamos lamented that some right-wing YouTubers have larger audiences than "daytime CNN" (such as "The Rubin Report") before going on to say, "And then we have to figure out the OANN and Newsmax problem. These companies have freedom of speech, but I'm not sure we need Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, and such to be bringing them into tens of millions of homes."

"What they're really saying is 'we don't want competition.' That's all he's really saying," Dave said.

Levin on Trump's answer to Stephanopoulos: 'Nothing happened. ... Zero. Nothing'

Thursday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin scorched ABC News journalist George Stephanopoulos and his hypothetical questions to Donald Trump about receiving information from foreign governments.

"This isn't news. This was a hypothetical question and a hypothetical answer to a hypothetical question. Nothing happened. Nothing happened. Nothing actually took place. Zero. Nothing," Levin said.

Stephanopoulos asked Trump, if he was hypothetically approached by a foreign government with information on a political rival, would he turn the information over the FBI.

"How would you even know whether to turn it over to the FBI if you don't listen to it or read it?" Levin asked. "By osmosis? So would you accept it? Well, first you must accept it, if you're going to turn it over to the FBI. You either must listen to it, depending on what it is, or read it, and he says, 'I might do both.' I don't know why this is controversial. I don't know why Republicans are slobbering all over themselves, 'I wouldn't answer it that way.'"

Listen:

"And by the way, how do you know that's interference in the election? He might take it and turn it over to the FBI. ... He just said, 'I would give it to the FBI if I thought there was something wrong.' I don't understand what this controversy's about. It's all manufactured. It's stupid."

"This is the same party that wants to know nothing — nothing — about the Hillary Clinton campaign and the DNC, and Fusion GPS, and the hiring of a foreign ex-British spy -- who did what? Who affirmatively went to the Kremlin to talk to apparatchiks. Right? And then used it, in the Obama police-state tactics of the FBI and the Department of Justice and intelligence agencies, to try and destroy the candidacy of this president. I mean, they took affirmative steps to collude, didn't they? Affirmative steps! Now the real question would've been if George Stephanopolos, for once in his life, had gone up to Barack Obama or Nancy Pelosi and said, 'Let me ask you a question. Do you think it was wrong for Hillary Clinton to spend money and the DNC to spend money and launder it through this law firm to get it to Fusion GPS, who further laundered it to hire this ex-British spy, who then in turn affirmatively contacted Russian apparatchiks, got false information to use against Donald Trump? Do you think that should have been done?' Do you know that question's never been asked of Nancy Pelosi or Barack Milhous Benito Obama — never? And that's not a hypothetical question! That actually happened!"

Levin: Do the media tell themselves they're 'undermining the legitimacy of this president?'

Tuesday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin roasted the mainstream media's hysterical claims about Trump's remarks about North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

The president agreed with Kim Jong Un's assessment of Joe Biden as a "low IQ individual." The media immediately jumped on the president for agreeing with Un at Biden's expense.

"That's your media today, ladies and gentlemen: The president's a dictator, the president likes dictators, the president is flacking for North Korea," Levin said. "First of all, we have more military power sitting off the coast of North Korea today than we have at any time in modern years. Any time in the Obama administration, Clinton administration, the last Bush administration. We have a carrier group or two just sitting there, as well as nuclear subs. Does that sound like he's selling out to North Korea?"

Levin pointed out that though the media was appalled at the meaning they read into Trump's tweet, they celebrated Obama when he opened an embassy in Havana, Cuba, though Cuban Dictator Fidel Castro murdered tens of thousands of people.

"Barack Milhous Benito Obama and his sidekick, dumb Joe Biden: They gave tens of billions of dollars, released from Europe and the United States, to the Islamo-Nazi regime in Tehran, which still has that money. And they're building nukes. And they're doing other things all over the Middle East — in fact, all over the world — backing terrorism. They've killed hundred and hundreds of American armed forces. They had no problem with that, in fact they supported it, the media. All these clowns who are talking right now: they all supported that. Did they say that Barack Obama was a sellout to Iran? No, just as he wasn't a sellout to the communists in Cuba. When Putin invaded the Ukraine, among other places, what did Barack Obama do? Nothing. Did they say he was kissing up to Putin and the Russians? When Obama met with Medvedebadeba and said, 'Just wait till after the election,' when he was more flexible? No."

Listen:

"So the president of the United States agrees with Un that Joe Biden has a low IQ, something the whole world is well aware of. But they're defending Joe Biden. The Praetorian Guard is defending Joe Biden. When they trash our president of the United States, here and abroad, day in and day out, do the media say to themselves that they're undermining the legitimacy of this president? When they were talking about the president being mentally unhinged and bringing one hack fool professor psychiatrist after another on television saying that, were they undermining our commander in chief? When the senior level of the FBI was trying to take out the president of the United States through a coup, did they say they were undermining our commander in chief, like little dictators? What do they say about the radical rogue mobster Democrats who run these various committees, going after the president, his finances, his family, his taxes, and all the rest? Do they say that they're giving aid and comfort to the enemy, so they must be lining up with the dictators of the world? No. No. All these people, ladies and gentlemen — they can go to hell."
