The REAL reason Democrats think JD Vance is ‘weird’

While phrases like “Keep Austin weird” indicate a certain level of “cool” to the left, Trump’s VP pick, JD Vance, has been ascribed a similar phrase for a totally different reason.

And Glenn Beck knows why.

“JD Vance is from a red state: weirdness number one. JD Vance grew up in white poverty: weirdness number two,” Glenn explains. “He didn’t have white privilege: weirdness number three. And he never gave up or listened to the naysayers: weirdness number four.”

While those on the left often look for handouts over hard work, Vance is the opposite.

“Nobody’s holding you back except you and your choices. That’s one of the biggest things that’s weird about JD Vance because either they totally believe it or they know they’re running an evil scam on people all over the world,” Glenn says.

The reason why this is such an important piece of the “JD Vance is weird” momentum, is because a left-wing government wants you to rely on it. It doesn’t want you to believe the future is in your hands.

“Who says that except an abusive partner?” Glenn asks.

And Vance doesn’t just not rely on the government for handouts, but he’s created his own world. He’s an entrepreneur — and nothing’s weirder to the left than people with the intellectual and emotional fortitude to build their own reality.

“Those are the people with real drive, and they’re different than people that just want a 9 to 5 job, and there’s nothing wrong with either of them,” Glenn says, though he notes that those who don’t believe they have it in them to be like Vance want to take from his wallet.

“Those are the people that the left relates to and counts on because they can use greed and envy to have you look at an entrepreneur, somebody with drive. ‘Look man, I don’t have the drive to do what Elon Musk does, I don’t have the brains to do it either,’” Glenn says. “‘I think I should take some money from Elon Musk.’”

“They think JD Vance is weird because they can’t relate to him on anything. His white poverty instead of his white privilege, his red state over their blue state, his getting back up again over and over again and rejecting the idea ‘stay down, you need the government, reach out for a handout,’” Glenn continues, adding, “They can’t understand that.”

Bob Odenkirk dismissed advice from 'cranky conservative' doctor — but admits why he now regrets that decision

Hollywood actor Bob Odenkirk, famous for his roles in "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul," admitted last week that he regrets not trusting medical advice he received from a "cranky conservative" physician.

While filming the final season of "Better Call Saul" two years ago, Odenkirk collapsed on the set after suffering a heart attack. Last year, Odenkirk revealed that his heart had stopped and he required CPR and defibrillation to save his life.

Now, Odenkirk believes his brush with death could have been avoided — if only he had listened to his politically conservative doctor.

Speaking on the "Don't Ask Tig" podcast, Odenkirk explained that his doctor of two decades — a cardiologist at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles — told him several years before the heart attack that he needed to begin medication to treat plaque buildup in his arteries.

"My doctor was a conservative. He got crankier and crankier the older he got. When I was 50, I went in, he was a heart doctor, Cedar[s]-Sinai, and he had signs up all around his office at this point [saying] 'We do not accept Obamacare,' and I f***ing hated this side of him that I only learned over time," Odenkirk explained. "I'd been with him for 20 years, and he said, 'You need to start taking statins right now.' And I said, 'Well, I don't know. I don't have heart disease in my family.' He goes, 'Just take 'em.'"

But he didn't listen to that physician, whom Odendirk described as a "cranky conservative jackass." Instead, he sought a second opinion from a doctor who advised him that he did not need statin medication.

"And [then] I had a heart attack. And I think the first doctor was right," Odenkirk admitted.

The moral of the story for Odenkirk? Separate the art from the artist.

"The cranky conservative jackass was right because he was a goddamn good doctor," the actor said.

According to Odenkirk, a doctor's "political point of view doesn't have anything to do with his ability to judge your health," and that is how we should evaluate medical professionals: not on their personal views, but on their abilities and reputation as a doctor.

Why You Should Out Yourself As A Conservative

We’re here, there’s beer, we don’t need to live in fear.

'We're ALL being gaslit': Ben Shapiro on why THIS stat should scare both conservatives AND liberals

The Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro joined BlazeTV host Dave Rubin on "The Rubin Report" to talk about how the mainstream media manipulates statistics to make COVID-19 infection rates appear far worse than they actually are, why he doesn't fear authoritarianism from the government, but from cultural institutions that no longer encourage critical thinking and encourage silencing dissent instead, and to share frightening poll results that show how most people, except the far-left, are afraid to voice their politics publicly.

"The non-governmental institutions of society, in large part [are] becoming more and more intolerant of dissent, outlawing dissent, social ostracization, people losing their jobs, people having family members not speaking to them anymore. And this is leading to a complete breakdown in the possibility of us even having a republic together. It's really, really dangerous stuff and everybody feels it," Ben told Dave.

"We're all being gaslit by the media that says that this stuff is not important, or that, you know, it's just making the country better, but by polling data, every single subgroup in the United States, including mainstream liberals, with the exception of far-left radicals ... says they are afraid to say what they believe about politics publicly. That's insane, okay. That is a good indicator of where we are and how far we have to go," he added.

Ben also gave his prediction of what center-left liberals of the intellectual dark web, like Sam Harris and Bari Weiss, will have to do to prevent themselves from becoming victims of cancel culture, and shares the story of his "nice bucket challenge" on Twitter and why so few liberals took him up on it.
