Leftist Harry Sisson thanks the COVID-19 vaccine after Jill Biden tests negative for the illness shortly after testing positive

First lady Jill Biden, who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week, tested negative on Thursday, according to her communications director, Elizabeth Alexander.

"She's feeling better and is grateful for all the well-wishes," Alexander noted.

Leftist commentator Harry Sisson reacted to the news by thanking medical professionals and the COVID-19 vaccine.

"First Lady Jill Biden has tested NEGATIVE for Covid-19. I'm so glad she made a full recovery so quickly! Thank you to the medical professionals who helped and thank you to the vaccine. This is great news," Sisson wrote in a post on X.

Sisson, who features the word "Democrat" on his X profile, has more than 700,000 followers on TikTok.

He was not the only person celebrating COVID-19 vaccines in response to the news about the first lady.

"Thank goodness for vaccines," leftist figure Victor Shi wrote in a post about the first lady testing negative. "Hope everyone stays healthy & gets boosted."

The first lady's communications director had announced in a statement on Monday that Jill Biden tested positive for COVID-19 that evening and had mild symptoms. President Joe Biden has been testing negative this week.

Many prominent figures have tested positive for COVID-19 despite getting multiple vaccine jabs.

Last year, Alexander noted in a statement that "double-vaccinated, twice boosted" Jill Biden had tested positive for COVID-19 and had mild symptoms.

Updated COVID-19 vaccine boosters are expected to be green-lighted soon.

The CDC has claimed that "mRNA COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective in preventing the most severe outcomes from a COVID-19 infection."

14-year-old out fishing hooked farmer's lost wallet, full of cash. Like his old man, he knew not to keep something he hadn't earned.

14-year-old Connor Halsa of Moorhead, Minnesota, was out fishing with his family on Lake of the Woods when he hooked bills instead of gills.

"We were doing a walleye drift, so we stopped the boat, put some spinners on, and let the waves take us," Halsa told WDAY-TV.

Of all of the places he could have drifted to on the lake — some 85 miles long and 56 miles across at its widest — those serendipitous waves brought Halsa over the resting place of Iowa farmer Jim Denney's lost wallet, stuck 20 feet below in the glacial deeps.

The summer prior, Denney reportedly came up against rough waters and went overboard. Although he managed to bring himself out of the murk all right, Denney later realized when readying to pay his final bill at the resort that the pocket on his overalls was down one billfold and $2,000 dollars.

"They had to float me the money for the whole deal. That's the (worst) feeling I ever had, didn't have a penny on me," Denney told the station.

This summer, Halsa struck on the wallet, but mistook it for a nibble.

Ready for a fight, the boy "set the hook really hard."

The incoming freshman at Moorhead High School came out victorious, but what came out of the water was no walleye. Rather, the 14-year-old had reeled in Denney's billfold, packed with $2,000 in cash.

"My cousin opened the wallet up, and he said some words you probably shouldn't say," Halsa told WDAY. "He showed everyone, and we took the money out and let it dry out."

$2,000 can go a long way, especially for a 14-year-old, but Halsa explained, "We didn't work hard for the money. He did. It was his money."

"My dad said we should give it to the person, and I said we should too," Halsa recalled.

After setting the cash out to dry, the family looked for some way to identify the owner. All they could find inside the water-logged wallet was a business card with a phone number belonging to a livestock owner in western Wisconsin — and that proved to be enough.

They called the number on the card and eventually got in touch with the owner of the wallet.

Although the wallet made its way to his farmhouse in Mount Ayr, Iowa, Denney traveled to Moorhead to visit Halsa, amazed by his luck and the boy's virtue, reported the Star Tribune.

"I tell you what, I have the billfold in my hands, and it is still hard to believe," said Denney.

The farmer reportedly offered to give the boy a reward, but Halsa refused.

"To meet people like that, who are that honest, I tried to get them to take the money, and they wouldn't do it," said the farmer.

While Halsa refused a reward, the Iowan gifted him a custom-made cooler and paid him a compliment: "I would take Connor as a grandson any day, and I would fight for him any day."

CDC director tests positive for COVID-19 again

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, who tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in October, took a course of Paxlovid, tested negative, and then tested positive again, according to the CDC.

"CDC Director Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky experienced mild symptoms from her recent COVID-19 infection, completed a course of Paxlovid, and, after a period of isolation, tested negative for the virus. On Sunday, Dr. Walensky began to develop mild symptoms and has again tested positive. Consistent with CDC guidelines, she is isolating at home and will participate in her planned meetings virtually," the CDC noted on Monday.

Earlier in October, when Walensky first tested positive, the CDC noted that she was "up to date with her vaccines" and that she only had "mild symptoms."

Walensky received an updated COVID-19 vaccine shot in September.

"Today, I received my updated #COVID19 vaccine!" a tweet on the @CDCDirector Twitter account noted in September. "Laboratory data suggest these updated vaccines provide increased protection against currently circulating variants. If you received your last COVID-19 vaccine >2 mo. ago, I encourage you to join me & get your updated vaccine now."

Days after the announcement of Walensky's initial positive test, President Joe Biden received an updated COVID-19 vaccine jab, and urged others to follow suit. "Update ... your COVID vaccine. It's incredibly effective. But the truth is, not enough people are getting it," Biden said.

Biden tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year after having already been fully vaccinated and boosted twice. Biden took Paxlovid, and physician to the president Dr. Kevin O'Connor noted that Biden tested negative before testing positive again. "This in fact represents 'rebound' positivity," O'Connor noted in a memo.

Similarly, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci tested positive earlier this year despite having been fully vaccinated and twice boosted. He too took Paxlovid, tested negative, and then tested positive again.

Quadruple-jabbed Pfizer CEO tests positive for COVID-19 again

Pfizer chairman and CEO Albert Bourla recently announced that he tested positive for COVID-19 again, after previously testing positive back in August.

"I wanted to let you know that I have tested positive for COVID. I'm feeling well and symptom free. I've not had the new bivalent booster yet, as I was following CDC guidelines to wait three months since my previous COVID case which was back in mid-August. While we've made great progress, the virus is still with us," Bourla said in a statement.

Bourla previously announced in August that he had tested positive for the illness, saying in a statement at the time that he was "grateful to have received four doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine," while adding that he was "feeling well while experiencing very mild symptoms." He also noted in the August statement that he had begun taking a course of Paxlovid, which entails nirmatrelvir and ritonavir tablets.

Other prominent figures have also tested positive for COVID-19 after having already received multiple vaccine jabs.

Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony Fauci tested positive for COVID-19 in June, despite having already been fully vaccinated and twice boosted. During remarks later in June, Fauci explained that after testing positive he took a course of Paxlovid — then after a testing negative for a few days he tested positive again, started feeling quite badly, and took another course of Paxlovid.

Foreign Policy Global Health Forum 2022 youtu.be

President Joe Biden, who has already been fully vaccinated and twice boosted, tested positive for the illness in July. He was put on a course of Paxlovid. But after testing negative several times, he tested positive again.

"As described last week, acknowledging the potential for so-called 'rebound' COVID positivity observed in a small percentage of patients treated with PAXLOVID, the President increased his testing cadence, both to protect people around him and to assure early detection of any return of viral replication," physician to the president Kevin O'Connor noted in a memo at the time. "After testing negative on Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, Thursday morning, and Friday morning, the President tested positive late Saturday morning, by antigen testing. This in fact represents 'rebound' positivity," O'Connor explained.

“Folks, today I tested positive for COVID again.

This happens with a small minority of folks.

I’ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me.

I’m still at work, and will be back on the road soon.”

Dr. Anthony Fauci tests positive for COVID-19: 'He is fully vaccinated and has been boosted twice'

Prominent public health official Dr. Anthony Fauci has tested positive for COVID-19 despite getting fully vaccinated and receiving two boosters.

"Today, Anthony S. Fauci, M.D., director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the National Institutes of Health, and Chief Medical Advisor to President Biden, tested positive for COVID-19 on a rapid antigen test," the NIAID announced on Wednesday.

"He is fully vaccinated and has been boosted twice. He is currently experiencing mild symptoms. Dr. Fauci will isolate and continue to work from his home. He has not recently been in close contact with President Biden or other senior government officials. Dr. Fauci will follow the COVID-19 guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and medical advice from his physician and return to the NIH when he tests negative," the press release added.

— NIH (@NIH) 1655319933

Fauci, who has served as the NIAID director for well over three decades, is just one of the many people who have tested positive for the illness despite being vaccinated.

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra tested positive in May and tested positive again on Monday — in both cases the "fully vaccinated and boosted" secretary had light symptoms, according to statements from assistant secretary for public affairs Sarah Lovenheim.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 — the announcement came after Trudeau had previously tested positive for the illness in January.

"I've tested positive for COVID-19. I'll be following public health guidelines and isolating. I feel okay, but that’s because I got my shots. So, if you haven’t, get vaccinated - and if you can, get boosted. Let’s protect our healthcare system, each other, and ourselves," Trudeau said in a tweet on Monday.

Fauci, who has been a staunch proponent of COVID-19 vaccination, delivered a speech during Princeton University's 2022 Class Day last month in which he warned against accepting "the normalization of untruths."

"Sadly, elements of our society have grown increasingly inured to a cacophony of falsehoods and lies that often stand largely unchallenged, ominously leading to ... acceptance of what I call the normalization of untruths. We see this happen daily with falsehoods propagated through a range of information platforms by a spectrum of people, including, sad to say, certain elected officials in positions of power," Fauci said.

"If you take away nothing else from what I say today, I appeal to you, please remember this: It is our collective responsibility not to shrug our shoulders and sink to a tacit acceptance of the normalization of untruths. Because if we do, lies become dominant and reality is distrorted, and then truth means nothing, integrity means nothing, and facts means nothing. This is how a society deteriorates into a way of life where veracity becomes subservient to propaganda, rather than being upheld as our guiding principle," he declared.

Donald Trump Jr. tests positive for COVID-19

President Donald Trump's son, Donald Trump, Jr., has tested positive for the coronavirus, but remains asymptomatic, according to a spokesperson. The news was first reported by Bloomberg.

What are the details?

A representative for the president's oldest son confirmed to Politico that Don Jr. received the positive test result at the beginning of the week, and "has been quarantining out at his cabin since the result." The spokesperson added that "he's been completely asymptomatic so far and is following all medically recommended COVID-19 guidelines."

Don Jr., 42, is the latest Trump to contract the virus, after his father, step-mother, and half brother Barron Trump all tested positive in October. Don Jr.'s girlfriend, Trump campaign fundraiser and former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle, also tested positive for the virus over the Fourth of July.

All have since recovered, but President Trump was hospitalized at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for days following news of his diagnosis.

According to ABC News, Don Jr. "has consistently downplayed the severity of the coronavirus pandemic, even after his father was diagnosed."

The outlet reported:

In an interview with Fox News on Oct. 30, he said deaths from the disease were "almost nothing."

"Why aren't they talking about deaths?" he told host Laura Ingraham. "The number's almost nothing because we've gotten control and we understand how it works. We have the therapeutics to be able to deal with this."

More than 250,000 deaths have been attributed to COVID-19 in the United States since the pandemic was discovered in the country early this year. According to data from Johns Hopkins University, America currently ranks 13th in the world in case-fatality ratio. The nation with the highest death rate on the list is Mexico, followed by Iran and the United Kingdom.

Anything else?

Earlier in the day on Friday, Andrew Giuliani—a special assistant to the president and the son of Trump personal attorney Rudy Giuliani—also announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19. CBS News reported that the outlet confirmed "at least four other White House aides have tested positive for COVID-19," in addition to the younger Giuliani, noting that "Trump campaign adviser Jenna Ellis said she and Rudy Giuliani had tested negative."

Several Trump administration officials have also tested positive for the coronavirus this year, including White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, HUD secretary Ben Carson, former White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway, and current adviser Hope Hicks.

HUD Secretary Ben Carson tests positive for COVID-19

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson tested positive for the coronavirus on Monday, and is reportedly resting at home after seeking treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

What are the details?

Politico reported that Carson was tested at Walter Reed and treated there "briefly" after developing symptoms of COVID-19. The housing chief "is in good spirits and feels fortunate to have access to effective therapeutics which aid and markedly speed his recovery," HUD deputy chief of staff Coalter Baker said in a statement.

According to The Washington Post, Carson's chief of staff, Andrew Hughes, wrote in an email to the HUD staff that Carson is "resting at his house and already beginning to feel better," adding that anyone who had been in contact with Carson is recent days will be notified and "all precautions are being taken."

Carson is the latest in a string of Trump administration officials to be diagnosed with COVID-19 following an election night party at the White House.

Bloomberg reported that President Donald Trump's chief of staff, Mark Meadows, tested positive for the coronavirus last week, noting that "at least five other White House officials have been infected in recent days, including Cassidy Hutchinson, one of Meadows's closest aides, and Charlton Boyd, an aide to senior Trump adviser Jared Kushner, according to several people."

Over the weekend, Trump adviser David Bossie — who is leading the president's post-election legal battles — also tested positive for the virus, according to the outlet.

Axios pointed out that Meadows, Carson, and Bossie were all in attendance at the election night party on Tuesday night. However, it is unclear where the officials contracted COVID-19.

What's the background?

The Daily Mail pointed out that weeks before Election Day, President Trump and first lady Melania Trump both fell ill with COVID-19, and the president was admitted to Walter Reed for treatment. Mrs. Trump recovered at the White House, and the couple's teenage son, Barron Trump, also tested positive but was asymptomatic.

Several attendees of a White House event announcing the nomination of now Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett were also stricken with the virus, including former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah), and University of Notre Dame President Rev. John I. Jenkins.

Christie checked himself into Morristown Medical Center out of precaution and stayed for a week, CNN reported. Following his discharge, the former governor penned a Wall Street Journal op-ed urging Americans to wear masks.

First lady Melania Trump reveals son Barron tested positive for COVID-19

First lady Melania Trump revealed Wednesday that her son, Barron Trump, tested positive for the coronavirus but experienced no symptoms from the disease and has since tested negative.

What are the details?

In a news release giving an update on her own experience after testing positive for COVID-19, the first lady wrote that after she and President Donald Trump were both diagnosed with the virus, "Naturally my mind went immediately to our son."

"To our great relief he tested negative, but again, as so many parents have thought over the past several months, I couldn't help but think 'what about tomorrow or the next day?'" she continued. "My fear came true when he was tested again and it came up positive. Luckily he is a strong teenager and exhibited no symptoms. In one way I was glad the three of us went through this at the same time so we could take care of one another and spend time together. He has since tested negative."

Mrs. Trump also provided details of the symptoms she experienced, explaining, "I was very fortunate as my diagnosis came with minimal symptoms, though they hit me all at once and it seemed to be a roller-coaster of symptoms in the days after. I experienced body aches, a cough and headaches, and felt extremely tired most of the time. I chose to go a more natural route in terms of medicine, opting more for vitamins and healthy food."

The first lady added, "I am happy to report that I have tested negative and hope to resume my duties as soon as I can."

What did the president say?

After the news broke that Barron, 14, had tested positive but has since recovered, reporters asked President Trump about his youngest son's condition. The president reassured the media that "Barron's fine," before declaring that "Amy's doing a fantastic job" — presumably referring to his U.S. Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett, who was currently in her third day of confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Q: "How's Barron?"President Trump: "Barron's fine and Amy is doing a fantastic job. We're heading out to Iowa and… https://t.co/XqrcbYT68H

County sends woman letter telling her she has COVID. But she died 6 months ago and was never tested.

A Tennessee man is sounding the alarm after his local health department sent a letter addressed to his departed mother this week to notify her that she has tested positive for COVID-19, and that she must isolate.

But his mother died from other causes in February, and was never tested for the virus at all — and certainly not in June, as the letter claimed — leading to questions over how the county's notification was ever triggered in the first place and how tallies of cases are being calculated.

What are the details?

Troy Whittington showed KGW-TV the letter from the Shelby County Health Department addressed to his mother, Sandra Whittington, stating that two months prior she had tested positive for the coronavirus. But Ms. Whittington passed away from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in February as confirmed on her death certificate, weeks before anyone was even being tested in the county.

She had fought a long battle with the disease that took her life, and she passed away in hospice care.

Ms. Whittington had been cremated for months at the time the county claimed she had been tested, indicating that it is "clearly impossible" that she could have been tested on June 20 as the county told her son, according to the outlet.

"I'm just having a hard time understanding how they can say someone has COVID-19 when they are not even alive," Whittington said.

What's more, Mr. Whittington questions why — if the county truly believed his mother tested positive in June — did it take so long for the health department to send out a letter telling her to self-quarantine.

"We're talking two months later," Mr. Whittington said. "She needs to be quarantined for 10, well we've got 60 days from the time of the test to get the letter out to her, which is unacceptable."

He pointed out that the notification from the health department came from the same county building that issued his mother's death certificate, adding further to his questions over how the letter was issued.

KGW also reported that "Whittington says this situation makes him question not only the Shelby County Health Department's COVID-19 statistics, but statistics across the country."

A spokesperson from the health department told KGW that a representative called Mr. Whittington on Thursday to apologize for their mistake, and that measures have been implemented to assure it does not happen to anyone else.
