Dana White: 'This is the greatest country on earth. And we should be defending it, fighting for our freedom, every one of us.'

Dana White, the outspoken head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, is making headlines for a pro-America rant he delivered on the “Full Send Podcast."

What are the details?

While the podcast interview posted on YouTube last week covered a variety of subjects, White turned heads when he was asked about his opinion that the younger generation coming up is weak.

White acknowledged that every generation typically believes that the one coming after it is "soft," but he was quick to add that the current generation is "next-level."

"There's no respect for the police any more, there's no respect for the military, there's no respect for our country, our freedom, our way of life that we have here," White said.

He then lit into Americans who threaten to leave the country if things don't go their way politically — and gave them a brutal reality check:

You can sit around and ... nitpick and talk about things that are wrong with the United States. Let me tell you something: I'm gonna tell f***ing your generation, my generation, everybody's generation — this is it. If this falls, there's no other f***ing place to go. So all these f***ing people that are like, 'Oh, God, if President Trump wins, I'm f***ing leaving the country.' They all say it! They all say it! Nobody f***ing does it. Where you gonna go? Nowhere. All these other f***ing places that you think are f***ing cool and you think are so f***ing great, when the s**t hits the fan, you find out who’s who and what’s what. ... Gang, this is it. So all the people ... marching and crying and protesting ... this is the greatest country on earth. And we should be defending it, fighting for our freedom, every one of us. ... Everybody’s afraid to stand up. Everybody’s afraid to be pro-American. ... Some of these other countries ... the people who live there are proud of where they come from. They carry their flag; they stand up. ... You talk about people coming over the border from Mexico for a better life in America, right? Show me a Mexican that doesn’t love his country and isn’t proud to be a Mexican. Wake up. Wake up. This is the greatest country …

White then wondered rhetorically, "So if we go to war right now, are you confident in this generation that we have right now that these guys are gonna go out and storm some beach somewhere?" He added that "there’s a small handful of people — most of them probably down around the Bible belt and down South — that’ll actually stand up and fight for this country right now. It’s scary."

'Soaked in white supremacy': Parent freaks out over image of students painted red, white, and blue and holding Trump MAGA flag

A parent is freaking out over a photo showing Omaha, Nebraska, public school students painted red, white, and blue, with the words "world war" spelled out on their chests — and one of them holding a flag supporting President Donald Trump, WOWT-TV reported.

What are the details?

"I think it was intimidating. I think it was threatening. I think it was racist," parent Erik Christensen told the station regarding the online photo of students who attended an Elkhorn South High School football game recently. "I felt like it was kind of soaked in white supremacy."

Christensen added to WOWT that he was angry and concerned for his stepdaughter.

"I literally had to get up this morning, and I had to wonder if she was going to be OK when she went to school because this was the kind of environment that she was living in — one of very few black students or minority students at Elkhorn at all," he noted to the station.

The principal clears the air

Principal Mark Kalvoda told WOWT the photo in question was a partial image; the full image shows more students spelling out "2X World War Champs" as part of a "USA Out" theme for the game during which students were supposed to show their patriotism.

In regard to the "Make America Great Again" flag supporting Trump, Kalvoda told the station political speech is protected.

Parent fires back

"Can I take a 'Black Lives Matter' sign to the football game?" Christensen asked WOWT. "And can I do it in the front row of the football game?"

He also told the station that the school should be asking how the other students perceived the act: "How did black students respond to it? How did minority students respond to it? How did other students that are white respond to it?"

Kalvoda told WOWT he spoke with students of color and their families on the Monday following the game and that the school is still looking into the whole thing.

The Nebraska School Activities Association said it does not have specific language in its guidelines that addresses political signs at games, the station said.

Anything else?

Another school in the Elkhorn City Schools district — Manchester Elementary — made a few headlines of its own in recent years.

Manchester's principal was placed on leave in December 2018 after banning Christmas-related items — even candy canes, as their "J" shape stands "for Jesus," she wrote in a memo to staff. The principal stepped down in January 2019.

Also last year, fifth graders at Manchester voted to place words in the shape of a cross on the school's yearbook cover — and it got printed, which caused all sorts of hand-wringing and calls for a reprint.

Ironically, the principal who resigned normally would have approved the cover, but since she was on leave, that threw a wrench in the usual process.

Ohio veteran walks state with 'thin blue line' flag to 'back the blue' and show people they don't have to be afraid of COVID-19

An Ohio man wants to spread a message of support for the police and courage in the face of the pandemic by walking around his state carrying flags with him.

Conrad Allen, 52, of Putnam County carries a "thin blue line" flag, a flag supporting President Donald Trump, and a United States flag 15 to 20 miles each day around the perimeter of the state. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he wants people to know "we don't have to be afraid of each other," telling WKEF-TV he hopes his actions will inspire people to be less afraid.

"COVID is real, but so is being free," Allen said.

Allen is the executive director of the Committee for a Better Ohio, a nonprofit grassroots organization that advocates for conservative policies to improve Ohio. His biography describes him as "an outspoken American patriot and Christian Conservative who lived a life of adventure as an international exploration geologist." He is a veteran, having served on active duty as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army.

Why is he carrying his flags?

"Peace, I want to bring peace," Allen told WLIO-TV last week at the start of his journey. "You know we are here, out here, in Putnam County and near Lima here, it's pretty much Trump country. But I am going to go through the heart of Dayton, through the heart of Cincinnati, the heart of Cleveland. I want people there to know that conservatives love them, we truly do. Some of the bad guys will probably try and take my stuff and treat me mean, but I don't care about that, I will just keep going."

On his daily walks Allen says people will stop and bring him water and thank him for "backing the blue."

A sheriff in Troy even bought Allen a Wendy's sandwich for lunch to show his department's support for what he's doing.

Allen shared a video of meeting Sheriff Dave Duchak of Miami County and two other officers at the Miami County Courthouse in Troy on his Facebook page, where he posts photos and videos some of his walks around Ohio.

"It's great what you're doing," Sheriff Duchak told Allen in the video. "We in law enforcement just appreciate the support. There's so much support out there that's not getting reported on.

"Law enforcement is not the enemy, and what you're doing is huge," the sheriff added.

Miami Valley Today reporter Michael Ullery caught up with Allen on Tuesday when he was passing through Troy, interviewing him about his mission. He said his message is to travel the state to support our law enforcement officers, support the president, and support the United States of America.

"I'm a walking talking flag pole," Allen told WKEF. "It's the goodness in these flags people are reacting to."

Allen plans to continue walking around the circumference of his state, a nearly 1,000 mile journey he expects will take around 100 days to complete. While such a trek would be daunting to some, Allen is excited to keep walking.

"Fall in Ohio is absolutely beautiful," he said. "Walking 7 to 10 hours a day is absolutely heaven."
