Puberty blockers prescribed to children as young as 8, medical professionals admit to undercover Project Veritas journalists
A Wednesday report from Project Veritas revealed that medical professionals in the transgender surgery industry have been prescribing puberty blockers with potentially permanent effects to children as young as 8 years old.
A new video released by the nonprofit undercover journalist enterprise showed medical professionals nationwide admitting to providing controversial and potentially irreversible transgender "treatment" to young children confused about their gender identity.
Some medical professionals noted that they follow the World Professional Association of Transgender Health’s guidelines when determining whether to provide a child with puberty blockers, cross-gender hormones, or mutilating surgeries.
Dr. John Steever, who works at New York City’s Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center in the pediatrics division, told an undercover journalist that he believes most teenagers are capable of making informed decisions regarding their treatment options.
When asked how he would treat a 10-year-old wishing to transition to the opposite sex, Steever suggested starting with puberty blockers.
“I follow the WPATH guidelines, the World Professional Association of Transgender Health guidelines, and really what they would say is, the way to go at this age – age 10 -- would be something like a puberty blocker…and that really stops puberty pretty quickly so that no further development of the secondary sexual characteristics happen. So, things like, there’s no real chest development. There’s no menstruation. Things like that,” Steever said.
When the child turns 14 years old, Steever stated that taking cross-gender hormones would be the next step.
“When you then get to age 14 is when I’ll consider some, you know, cross-gender hormones. Fourteen [years-old] is a reasonable age. Most kids are mature enough to make a relatively informed decision,” he said.
Steever noted that taking cross-gender hormones, specifically testosterone, would have “some permanent effect.” Therefore, the child would need to be “mature enough to make a relatively informed decision.”
The Project Veritas video featured a conversation with Matthew Pabis, a New York City Family Medicine Specialist. He explained that a medical professional could perform gender surgery, including mastectomies, on a 10-year-old as long as a psychiatrist would be willing to sign off on it.
“I’ve never done a 10-year-old,” Pabis stated. “I’ve done 15, 16 [years old].”
“You don’t think anybody can do that for a 10-year-old? To do the surgery?” an undercover journalist asked Pabis.
“They could, yeah!” Pabis replied.
Nora Scott, a licensed social worker with the Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas, told an undercover journalist that children as young as 8 and 9 could be considered for surgery.
“We do have patients who are starting [transition] as young as 8, 9 [years old],” Scott stated.
Project Veritas plans to release the second part of the series Thursday evening.

James O'Keefe leaves Project Veritas after overturned firings, employee complaints
Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe has reportedly resigned, according reporter Neil McCabe of One America News.
McCabe reported on Twitter that O'Keefe read a resignation letter to his staff and board members at the company's headquarters:
"Exclusive: James O'Keefe III, my friend and former boss at Project Veritas, just read his resignation letter to his former team and board members at their Mamaroneck, N.Y. headquarters. James will make his own way—as he always has before," said McCabe.

McCabe told the Daily Beast that O'Keefe "just resigns and walks out the door to start a new life." “Now we’ll see: Does the organization he created survive?" McCabe added.
Another colleague of O'Keefe however, R.C. Maxwell, claims that O'Keefe was "removed" from Project Veritas.
"This is not accurate. James was removed from his position as CEO by the Project Veritas board. They are in charge now," Maxwell said on Twitter.

Maxwell reported for Project Veritas as recently as three weeks before O'Keefe's alleged ousting.
Less than two weeks before his exit, O'Keefe was placed on paid leave after employees signed a letter condemning some of the founder's actions.
Executive director of Project Veritas Daniel Strack said at the time that O'Keefe was taking “a few weeks of well-deserved [paid time off].”
Prior reports stated that Project Veritas was deeply divided among board members and employees, with some sticking with O'Keefe and others complaining about his leadership.
A third of the company's employees reportedly wrote an internal memo claiming that O'Keefe had been particularly mean to some of them. Employees said they felt “publicly humiliated” by O'Keefe, suffering through what was described as “public crucifixions.”
“I would describe Project Veritas’ current environment with this saying: ‘The beatings will continue until morale improves,’” a staffer wrote in the memo.
Two executives who were fired by O'Keefe were also reportedly reinstated when he was put on leave.
Five days before his departure, Project Veritas remarked on Twitter that "of course James O'Keefe III is alive and well. Why wouldn’t he be? We’re sure many of you can agree, there is nothing better than enjoying a well deserved vacation."

Video: 'Evil' curriculum salesman caught violating CRT ban doubles down on comments while also claiming he was 'taken out of context,' Project Veritas reports
In a new video released by Project Veritas, a self-described "evil salesman," who admitted to violating Georgia laws by selling school districts curricula that contained critical race theory teachings, accused the news organization of taking his statements "out of context" while simultaneously doubling down on his remarks.
Project Veritas released a series of videos this week of curriculum salesman Dr. Quintin Bostic admitting to an undercover journalist that he disguises critical race theory teachings as diversity, equity, and inclusion.
"If you don't say the word 'critical race theory,' you can technically teach it," Bostic stated in one of the videos posted by the organization earlier this week.
Bostic admitted that the state government and the school districts are unaware that his curriculum contains critical race theory concepts.
At one point, Bostic referred to himself as "an evil salesman."
Bostic, who is also a content manager for Teaching Lab, a nonprofit organization "with a mission to fundamentally shift the paradigm of teacher professional learning for educational equity," referred to his employer as "a scam lab."
He accused the organization of secretly running a "for profit" by selling products produced with grant funding.
"My boss [Teaching Lab CEO Sarah Johnson] is a freaking psychopath. … She's running a nonprofit but it's for profit," Bostic said.
Teaching Lab released a statement in response to Bostic's claims, saying in part, "Project Veritas, a widely discredited activist group, released deceptively produced and edited videos of a Teaching Lab employee. The views expressed by the employee in these recordings are not the views of Teaching Lab, and are inaccurate and regrettable."
Even though the organization claimed the undercover videos produced by Project Veritas were deceptive, the nonprofit added that Bostic "has been placed on administrative leave pending further review."
Teaching Lab also denied Bostic's allegations that the organization sold grant-funded products.
Project Veritas released a third video on Thursday in which the organization founder, James O'Keefe, confronts Bostic about claims he made while secretly being filmed by an undercover journalist.
O'Keefe asked Bostic why he referred to himself as an "evil salesman," to which Bostic replied that "it's just a word I use."
Bostic initially denied referring to Teaching Lab as "a scam lab." He then explained that his remarks were "definitely taken out of context."
"If I publish every second of my conversation with you, you will still say that it's out of context," O'Keefe argued.
"I could," Bostic replied. "You don't have any background understanding of the work that I do, the 'why' behind my work, and things of that sort."
The curriculum salesman defended his deceptive practices as "good work" and said it does not bother him that he is hiding CRT curriculum from the public.
Bostic said that he does not believe his actions are against the law. However, he noted that if his work were found to be illegal, he would "figure out how to navigate around that."
"You cannot teach critical race theory to kindergarteners, let's be very clear when I say that. Critical race theory is a framework that help us to guide conversations about race and racism," Bostic stated.
O'Keefe then asked, "But is that what you're doing through the guise of DEI, per your own words?"
Bostic confirmed again that CRT teachings are hidden within DEI.
He also noted that Georgia banned schools from teaching CRT, but it has not outlawed each individual concept rooted in CRT.
"The state of Georgia does not have a rule that says we should not teach students to see color," Bostic explained as an example.
O'Keefe replied, "It says, 'critical race theory.'"
"Exactly," Bostic stated.

Dean of students brags about bringing in LGBT group that passed around sex toys in classroom, talked to kids about 'queer sex'
A high-ranking official at an elite school that serves kids from pre-K through twelfth grade bragged to an undercover reporter that he has gone far beyond bringing drag queens into the classroom.
Joseph Bruno, dean of students at Chicago's Francis W. Parker School, indicated he brought in an LGBT group that passed around sex toys to kids and discussed "queer sex" best practices during "Pride Week."
Project Veritas released a video of Bruno's remarks on Wednesday.
Since the release of the video, the school, facing significant backlash, has deleted its Twitter and Facebook accounts. The school has also accused Project Veritas of editing the video "with malicious intent."
What are the details?
Francis W. Parker School purportedly guides students "in their learning and development so they can become authentic, effective, responsible and empathic citizens and leaders in our democracy and the wider world."
To this end, the school's faculty "is committed to healthy identity formation and intellectual development within each learner at Parker."
Last week at a National Association of Independent Schools People of Color conference, the school's dean of students unwittingly spoke with an undercover Project Veritas reporter on hidden camera, detailing some of the initiatives that have been undertaken in the classroom to aid in such "identity formation."
"During Pride, we do a Pride Week every year, and I had, like, our LGBTQ+ health center come in. They were passing around butt plugs and dildos to my students. Talking about queer sex, using lube versus using spit," said Bruno.
Bruno indicated that the kids were "just playing with" and "looking at" the sex toys that had been distributed in the classroom "while I'm sitting there."
According to Bruno, some kids asked, "How does this butt plug work? How do we do, like, how does this work?"
Bruno intimated that "a really, like, cool part of my job is I don't have to worry" about potential resistance to prompting and answering such questions and to giving kids lessons on "queer sex."
The reporter asked, "Everybody's cool with that? The butt plugs and the dildos?"
Bruno responded, "No. ... It's queer sex."
Having apparently faced little to no opposition from the board of trustees, the administration, or parents, Bruno said he enjoyed "so much freedom. So much money to do stuff."
There's plenty of money in the school's coffers, given that tuition ranges from $37,080 to $42,300.
The dean of students said the school also "had a drag queen come in, pass out cookies and brownies and do photos" with students ages 14 to 18.
Alex Bevels, the "non-binary" man dressed as a woman who was brought into the classroom, "hung out" in Bruno's classroom and office.

School doubles down amid backlash
Facing outrage over the Project Veritas video, the school's principal, Dan Frank, issued a release saying, "We are heartbroken to learn that one of our colleague's words have been severely misrepresented for a malicious purpose."
Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe responded by suggesting there were no content edits.
"It's just him talking about dildos and butt plugs and spit and awful things with 14-year-old girls. ... There's no edit. What are you talking about? ... Are they saying he didn't say these things? Then sue me!" said O'Keefe.
\u201cUPDATE: @fwparker just sent an email attacking Project Veritas & defending the schools "comprehensive approach to sex education"\n\n"Please know this video contains descriptive language. If you choose to view it, we ask you not to share it, because it will add to its viral power"\u201d— Project Veritas (@Project Veritas) 1670475012
"Project Veritas is a far-right activist group that produces deceptively edited videos of secret recordings in an effort to discredit mainstream media organizations, progressive groups and educational institutions," wrote the school's principal.
Rather that condemn Bruno's remarks or explain the alleged provision of sex toys to kids, the school stated that "administrators and Parker's Board of Trustees support Parker's programming, the strength and inclusivity of our curriculum, and the dedicated faculty and staff that teach it."
Frank said he was "sickened," not by potential sexualization of minors, but by Project Veritas' "deceptive tactics ... and their attack on the LGBTQ+ community."
Project Veritas claims to expose illegal voter registration scheme in Georgia, but does not appear to show illegal activity
A new hidden camera video released by Project Veritas purports to expose illegal voter registration of homeless people in Georgia, but in fact highlights a practice that may be legal.
In the video, Georgia Central Outreach and Advocacy Center executive director Kimberly Parker admits to helping multiple homeless people register to vote using the same address. Project Veritas accused the Center of "illegally registering thousands of homeless to vote" at an address they do not reside at in Atlanta.
“We’ve done that for years!” Executive Director Kimberly Parker says... while admitting her organization has been i… https://t.co/sne9QWWfc3— Project Veritas (@Project Veritas)1609823318.0
Parker explains, "So, the majority of the people we serve don't have an address, so we allow them to use our address if they register to vote and to get Georgia State ID."
The video notes that Georgia state law requires a person to vote where they live, and that "permitting someone to use a false statement on voter registration is illegal ... and punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment."
However, Georgia election law permits homeless people to register to vote using the address of somewhere they routinely stay, such as at a shelter or a church. If they do not stay at a location with an address, they may denote a park name or the closest intersection to where they sleep as their residence. They must also provide a mailing address where they can receive mail and may use the address of a shelter, church, charity, relative, or friend to do so.
"Because you have to have proof of residence and so although we're not a shelter, we do allow them to use 201 Washington Street," Parker continues. "So, I can't even begin to tell you how many people have that address on their ID. And we've never run into any problem with that until this election."
She adds that "one of our board members got wind that they thought we're doing things not on the up and up, because so many people have the address, but we've not heard any repercussion from it since."
The Central Outreach and Advocacy Center is an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization headquartered in the lower level of Central Presbyterian Church. The agency provides support services to Atlanta's homeless people, including helping them acquire government documents like ID cards or birth certificates, setting up medical appointments, and providing job and skills training to help them find work.
Also featured in the video is Adam Seeley, who is the director of social services for Emmaus House, another nonprofit organization that serves the Atlanta community, and also serves as a board member at the Central Night Shelter. Seeley states that his organization does not know how many people have used their address to register to vote.
"You know, we've always kind have been unsure at how many people were having us established as a mailing address in terms of a larger scope," Seeley said.
"One day I walked into Emmaus House to pick up the mail, and Beverly was like, one of our ladies, she's where the mail comes into our office, and she's like, 'you gotta get this stuff outta here.' And I'm like, 'what are you talking about?'
"And it was probably a couple thousand people that had our address registered as their mailing address for their voter registration," he continued. "And I was like, oh my god, so I'm looking through it and I'm like, well this guys is dead."
TheBlaze contacted Central Outreach and Advocacy Center and Emmaus House with requests for comment. Project Veritas also did immediately return a request for comment.
