Biden retells yet another story completely differently than in the past, this time about becoming a Green Bay Packers fan

Joe Biden changed the details of yet another story during a speech in Wisconsin about becoming a Green Bay Packers fan while in high school.

The president was at Gateway Technical College's iMet Center on May 8, 2024, in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, speaking about Microsoft's plan to invest over $3 billion to build an artificial intelligence data center in the state.

During his comments, Biden recalled a story about how his Catholic high school influenced him to become a fan of NFL team the Green Bay Packers.

"I went to a Catholic high school in Delaware taught by the Norbertines priests from St. Norbert College ... little town, little team called Green Bay," Biden said, which incited some cheers.

"Now, here's the deal," Biden continued. "We were the only high school in Delaware who overwhelmingly rooted for Green Bay."

The crowd laughed, but Biden pressed on.

"Not a joke, I'll tell you why. Every single Sunday. Not only did they have great teams at the time, still do, but not only that, my theology professor at the Catholic school I went to was a guy named Riley. Last name. And he had been drafted by the Green Bay Packers."

"He decided to become a priest before that, so he didn't go, but every single solitary Monday that Green Bay won, we got the last period of the day off."

While it was unclear if Biden was stating that Riley was the last name or he was reading "last name" off the teleprompter, the president seemingly forgot that he has told this story previously but with several of the details being completely different.

Biden starts rambling about a "theology professor" at his Catholic high school who (allegedly) "had been drafted by the Green Bay Packers" but "decided to become a priest"
— (@)

According to Wisconsin radio station 620 WTMJ, Biden told this same story in 2011 to host John Mercure.

"He realized he was talking to a journalist in Wisconsin and started telling this elaborate story about why he roots for the Packers," Mercure recalled.

"Let me tell you something, I was taught, I went to a Catholic boys school in Claymont, Delaware, taught by an order of priests called the Norbertines," Biden said at the time. "The Norbertines had their Abbey house in DePere."

Biden then listed off some of the Packers' players of his youth before continuing.

"Every Sunday the Packers won, the headmaster Father Justin E. Diny would get on the PA system, literally, and say, 'Gentlemen no last period today.'"

"He made everyone of us Packers fans. I have a sentimental place," he continued. "Besides I'm fearful I'll go to hell if I don't root for the Packers. Father Diny may come back. I can't go against Father Diny. He'll come out of his grave if he knew I was rooting for anybody else."

There was no mention in the story of a theology professor named Riley, or anyone being drafted to the NFL but choosing the priesthood; rather, it was the headmaster who allegedly gave the students the time off.

Forgetting which authority gave the free time to the students would be easily mistakable, but the president specifically stated it was a professor who was drafted into the NFL.

The internet then went to work.

America's new President @JoeBiden is rooting for the @packers this Sunday and all Sundays.

This is just one of many of the president's peculiar tales. From the legend of a street tough named Corn Pop to claims he went to Delaware State University, the president seems to forget key details of his stories.

Not to be forgotten, Biden has also changed his story about having an "epiphany" about accepting gay marriage at least four times over the course of nearly 50 years.

FACT CHECK: Did Biden Travel 17,000 Miles With Xi Jinping?

President Joe Biden recently claimed that he has traveled 17,000 miles with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Treasury Sec. Yellen literally bows to CCP counterpart, describes official China trip as 'successful'

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen described her official trip to China as "successful" Sunday on CBS News' "Face the Nation" while a viral video of her repeatedly bowing to her CCP counterpart in Beijing raised eyebrows back home.

"Never, ever, ever…an American official does not bow. It looks like she’s been summoned to the principal’s office, and that’s exactly the optics the Chinese love," Bradley Blakeman, former senior staffer in George W. Bush's White House, told the New York Post of the unseemly protocol flub.

"WATCH: Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen — in an embarrassing 'diplomatic faux pas' — repeatedly bows to Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng in Beijing," @RNCResearch tweeted.

In the video, Sec. Yellen's counterpart, Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng, approaches her, with his hand extended as if to shake hands.

Yellen returns the gesture by extending her own hand. The pair lightly grasp hands and shake, and then the situation grew awkward. As she shook He's hand, she bowed, not once, but three times. Cameras flash as a woman wearing a mask, carrying two bags, moves in from behind Yellen, possibly in an effort to guide her. Meanwhile, He stands tall and takes a step back, maintaining the handshake all the while.

— (@)

In an interview with Yellen before she left Beijing, "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan aired the clip, but referred to it only obliquely. Brennan framed it as "one of those awkward moments," likening it to He's mention of concerns about Chinese spy balloons.

"I had a very constructive visit. I received a warm welcome and ... had substantive conversations about the global economy, developments in our own economies, financial markets, and a list of concerns that each of us brought to the table that we agreed to follow up on over time," Yellen told Brennan.

Yellen said she made it clear during the meetings that the U.S. could not compromise on national security issues "even if it harms our own narrow economic interests." She added that when the U.S. takes actions that would affect China's economy, the U.S. would ensure our actions were "transparent, narrowly targeted, and well-explained."

Asked if Beijing was taking a warning shot by restricting exports on critical minerals essential for computer chips, Yellen said she had "expressed concern" about China's action, describing it as "potentially" retaliatory.

"My purpose is to ensure we don't engage in a series of unintended escalatory actions that would be harmful to our overall economic relationship."

She said that senior officials as well as citizens from both countries had had "very little contact" with one another in the past several years, due in part to COVID, and that the lack of contact can lead to misunderstandings.

"I do think my trip has been successful in forging those relationships and creating the opportunity for a deeper set of more contacts at our staff levels."

"It is my hope that there is a path to bring inflation down ... the data I've seen suggests we are on that path," Yellen said, as the conversation with Brennan moved to the economy back home.

Yellen's apparent optimism about Bidenomics stopped short when Brennan asked her directly about the risk of recession given the recent slowdown in job numbers.

Recession is "not completely off the table," Sec. Yellen said, also adding her expectation that we would see a slower pace of ongoing job gains in the future.

'So embarrassing': Biden shakes hands with Schumer —IMMEDIATELY forgets he just shook hands with Schumer

Amid a stirring speech about why our inflation-stricken country is now pumping more than $50 billion into "semiconductor chips," President Joe Biden took a moment to shake hands with his big-spending pal Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) — despite having just coughed repeatedly into his hand, but don't worry, the president on Monday tested negative for COVID-19 — but then suffered an embarrassing viral moment when he almost immediately offered to shake hands with Schumer again, appearing to have forgotten that he had just done so.

Biden attempted to hide his faux pas with a weird "I-was-just-wiping-the-drool-off-my-chin" type of maneuver, but it was far too late. Twitter sees all.

AOC can't stop repeating the word 'baby' as she pitches 'SICK' plan to abort more babies in red states

Vice President Kamala Harris' cringeworthy habit of getting stuck on repeat seemed to have brushed off on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) as she pitched her outrageous plan to keep abortion available on demand in red states.

In response to the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on Friday, Ocasio-Cortez is demanding that the U.S. government, presumably funded by taxpayers, should set up abortion providers on federal land in red states.

"Yeah, I’ll start with the babiest of the babiest of baby steps. Open abortion clinics on federal lands in red states right now, right now, right now!" Ocasio-Cortez shouted to a crowd of pro-abortion protesters.

Did Biden just let slip that record-high gas prices were PLANNED?

President Joe Biden on Monday appeared to praise record-high gas prices, saying it's all part of an “incredible transition” that will make America and the world better off.

“When it comes to the gas prices, we’re going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it’s over, we’ll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over,” Biden explained during a joint press conference with Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo.

Glenn Beck has long been warning that progressive policies and regulations intended to cripple the fossil fuel industry would lead to skyrocketing oil and gas prices — and it's all by design. Back in 2008, President Barack Obama all but admitted as much when he said energy costs would "necessarily skyrocket” under his cap-and-trade plan.

On a recent episode of BlazeTV's "Glenn Beck Program," Glenn explained why he believes the current oil and gas catastrophe is all "part of the plan," as leftists continue to push their radical ESG agenda.

AOC condemns 'fundamentalist Christians' who oppose abortion as 'theocratic' and 'authoritarian' — but pro-life folks aren't having any of it

Far-left U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez condemned "fundamentalist Christians" who oppose abortion as "theocratic" and "authoritarian" during an hourlong Instagram video the New York Democratic posted Thursday that covered a variety of topics.

What are the details?

Ocasio-Cortez jumped right into the abortion debate at the start of her video and spent nearly half of her speech on it.

About 19 minutes into her statements, Ocasio-Cortez completely dismissed those who hold pro-life views, using air quotes to minimize those who say things like "you're harming a life" and "I believe this is life."

Image source: Twitter video screenshot via @RNCResearch

"Well, some religions don't. So how 'bout that? ... Jewish brothers and sisters ... are able to have an abortion according to their faith. You know, there are so many faiths that do not have the same definition of life as fundamentalist Christians," Ocasio-Cortez said sharply. "And so what about their rights? What about their right[s] to exercise their faith? It's ridiculous. And it is theocratic, it's authoritarian — it is wrong."

Here's the clip:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rants about how babies in the womb are not a life.\n\n"Oh\u2026 you\u2019re harming a life, I believe this is life," she says mockingly.pic.twitter.com/wbMALo9bGC
— RNC Research (@RNC Research) 1653068771

The congresswoman seemed to ignore the fact that Christians who don't consider themselves "fundamentalist" also oppose abortion, which also the case for Jewish people, Muslims, and even atheists. Opposition to abortion long ago went beyond a core belief that relies on "God said so" and has employed arguments that stand for equal rights of humans in the womb.

How are folks reacting?

As you might guess, Twitter commenters ripped Ocasio-Cortez for her attacks, with LifeNews leading the way: "Tell me you don't understand science without saying you don't understand science."

Other AOC critics also had their say:

  • "I’ll be sure to pass this along to all non-religious pro-life people," one user said. "It is stunning that people are now so crass about ending the life of a baby with a living heartbeat and actual feeling. Life….what a beautiful choice for Christians and everybody else."
  • "Someday, she'll revisit this conversation with the One who created that life," another user predicted.
  • "Notice how they don't have an argument in favor of abortion that doesn't involve invoking something about religion?" another commenter offered. "I'm not religious, think abortion is wrong, accept the science that it is a human life. They can't argue with me because they have to invoke religion."
  • "I’ve stated before how people who need instructions on shampoo bottles or warnings on coffee cups are AOC’s base. She proves me right every day," another user said. "Taking religion out of it, from a purely scientific and biological standpoint, every abortion ends a life. Period."

'Most cringeworthy politician': Kamala Harris mocked for putting on 'French accent' for scientists in Paris lab

Vice President Kamala Harris suffered yet another "cringe" moment this week. Harris was mocked for seemingly putting on a French accent in front of scientists at a laboratory in Paris, France.

Harris made a four-day trip to France this week — her third overseas trip since being in office. Harris traveled to France to try to help mend relations with America's oldest ally after French President Emmanuel Macron was furious with the Biden administration in September.

Australia bailed out on a $66 billion deal with France for 12 new diesel-electric submarines. Instead, Australia reached a trilateral security partnership with the United States and the United Kingdom — known as AUKUS — to deliver nuclear-powered submarines to the Australians. France called the deal a "stab in the back" and recalled its ambassadors to the U.S. and Australia. President Joe Biden attempted to smooth things over with his French counterpart by saying the U.S. acted "clumsy" and noting that the submarine deal "was not done with a lot of grace."

Harris stated the trip had an objective to "build on our administration's progress strengthening our alliances and partnerships in Europe and around the world." However, the reconciliation tour experienced some turbulence on Tuesday when Harris appeared to speak in a French accent at a COVID-19 lab at the Pasteur Institute in Paris.

The vice president attempted to explain how politics was different from science.

"In government, we campaign with 'The Plan,'" Harris said in what is believed to be a French accent. "Uppercase T, uppercase P, The Plan!"

"And then the environment is such we're expected to defend 'The Plan' even when the first time we roll it out there may be some glitches and it's time to re-evaluate and then do it again," she told the French scientists – again using a purported French accent.

— Jake Schneider (@jacobkschneider) 1636556985

Kamala's alleged French accent was panned on social media.

Political commentator Monica Crowley simply said, "Hot mess."

RNC deputy communications director Nathan Brand declared, "Kamala Harris is the most cringeworthy politician."

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Fox News, "The clip from Vice President Harris is just, it's more than embarrassing on the world stage. ... Our adversaries watch that and see weakness. They see people who aren't serious, they see people who aren't determined — precisely the opposite of what we did for four years."

Political columnist Joe Concha said of the video, "There really are no words anymore… #AuRevoir."

Abigail Marone, press secretary for Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), joked by making a reference to the political satire comedy TV series "Veep," "Is she using a FRENCH ACCENT?! I love this episode of Veep."

Harris, who grew up in Berkeley, California, until she was 12, then moved to Canada, was previously denounced for using a southern accent during a campaign event last November. The then-candidate was accused of putting on a southern drawl at a drive-in rally at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina.

Kamala also suffered criticisms of her authenticity last month when she appeared in a space exploration video with "students," who were reportedly child actors hired by the Sinking Ship Entertainment production company.

A USA Today/Suffolk University poll released this week showed that Harris has an abysmal 28% approval rating among Americans — which is 10 points lower than President Biden. Kamala has the lowest approval rating among modern vice presidents — even lower than Dick Cheney's 30% approval rating in 2008.

Late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel attempted to cover for Kamala's all-time-low approval rating by claiming that "sexism and racism" are the "obvious" reasons why she polls so poorly. Twitter reactions to Kimmel's remarks ridiculed the talk show host over his notion.

There has been a mask mandate in effect in Washington, D.C. since July 31.

This guidance presents recommendations that the general public should follow for wearing face masks (or cloth face coverings) to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and it also provides the rules that must be followed for masking indoors, even for fully vaccinated persons.

This includes any business or establishment open to members of the public (including but not limited to: grocery stores, restaurants and bars (when not eating or drinking), places of worship, gyms, office buildings, libraries, indoor entertainment venues.

The Fiola Mare restaurant states on its website that masks are required.

Per CDC guidance and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser's executive order, all individuals over age 2 are required to wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must be always worn while in our restaurants, except while eating and drinking. Thank you for understanding.

The same day that the city's mask mandate went into effect, Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) broke her own mask rule to officiate a wedding at a four-star hotel in the city.

Biden joins a long list of Democrats who flouted their own COVID-19 rules.

Democrats who broke their own coronavirus guidances include California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, San Francisco Mayor London Breed, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Austin Mayor Steve Adler, Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo, Biden's special envoy on climate John Kerry, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, and Los Angeles County supervisor Sheila Kuehl.
