Road-rage mom driving with her young kids reportedly follows car for 15 miles, fires gun at car, hitting teen girl in face — then goes to get her nails done

A mother driving with her three young children reportedly followed a vehicle for about 15 miles on a Georgia freeway Sunday afternoon after apparently getting cut off — and then shot a teen girl who was a passenger in the car she was chasing.

Following the shooting, the mom went to get her nails done.

What are the details?

Investigators told WAGA-TV that 30-year-old Brittney Alyssa Griffith had been following a car on Interstate 20 after a road-rage incident in Villa Rica. The station's video report indicated that Griffith followed the car for about 15 miles.

As Griffith's vehicle approached the Chapel Hill Road exit, Griffith allegedly pulled out a gun and shot a 17-year-old in the face, WAGA reported. Douglasville police told WSB-TV the shooting victim, Ashlyn Crouch, was in the front passenger seat of the other car.

One of the teens in the other car was able to snap a photo of Griffith pointing a gun at them, WSB said.

The shooting victim told her mother, Dianna Crouch, the car she was in accidentally cut off Griffith, WSB reported.

“And she shot them the bird, and they shot back,” Dianna Crouch added to the station.

Crouch said her daughter is out of intensive care and in a regular room, WSB reported, adding that she said Ashlyn "was shot behind her ear, and it came out through the side of her eye ...”

Judge says suspect got her nails done after shooting

Griffith turned herself in around 11 p.m. Sunday, WSB said, adding that detectives learned her three children — ages 4 to 9 — were in her car at the time of the shooting.

Griffith has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of cruelty to children — her own three kids — and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, WSB said.

The suspect was denied bond Monday morning, WSB said, adding that Judge Susan Camp with the Douglas County Magistrate Court said Griffith went to get her nails done after the shooting.

“That just blows my mind,” Dianna Crouch told WSB. “That makes me think she had no remorse.”

Crouch added to WSB that "people just need to take a deep breath, or just stay off the road."

'God has kept me protected'

Ashlyn Crouch, speaking from her hospital bed, thanked those who prayed for her and said, "God has kept me protected," WSB reported in a follow-up story.

She added to the station that she knows if the bullet had hit her a few inches over, she might not have survived.

Dianna Crouch told WSB the bullet "missed everything that it needed to miss; God is good" and that her daughter's eyesight is not permanently damaged.

Ashlyn Crouch added to the station that the incident also taught her a valuable lesson: “You never know what someone is thinking, or if they in they’re right mind. Stay alert and keep gestures to yourself.”

She also told WSB that she hopes Griffith finds God.

Shocking photo shows man shooting women over road rage incident while holding baby

Shocking photos show the moment a man erupted in a road rage shooting in Ohio. The man was enraged over a minor car crash, which reportedly did not include damage to the vehicles and he was not actually involved in. Inconceivable images show the man fire gunshots at women in the nearby car while he was holding a baby with his other hand.

There was a "minor, non-damage" car accident involving two female drivers, according to the Cincinnati Police Department. One of the drivers allegedly told the other, "I'm gonna go get my man, you better go get yours."

Approximately 30 minutes later, one of the drivers returned with Ladon Penn.

"Penn walked out of his car, walked into a home, and reappeared with a gun," the Cincinnati Police Department statement read. "Mr. Penn then start[ed] firing shots at the victim [the 54-year-old woman] and two other women with her. One round ricocheted and grazed the victim."

The 54-year-old woman suffered a "minor gunshot wound to her forearm." Police said, "She was treated and released at the scene."

Penn and the second woman fled from the crime scene. Police officers apprehended the couple about two miles from the location of the car accident. Officers recovered a 9mm handgun they believe was used in the shooting.

Penn, 31, was charged with three counts of felonious assault, child endangerment, and weapons under disability. Police didn't mention if the female acquaintance of Penn will face any charges.

Authorities obtained video of the shooting, and shared unbelievable screenshots that show Penn firing the gun while holding a small baby.

Road rage shooting leaves armed motorcyclist dead after reportedly threatening another driver who also had gun

A teen was fatally shot during a road rage shooting in Texas, where an armed motorcyclist allegedly threatened another driver, who also had a gun.

On June 25, JaDerek Gray was driving his motorcycle on I-35 in Fort Worth. The motorcyclist was driving in between the lanes of the highway, an illegal maneuver known as "lane-splitting." An SUV driver changed lanes, but didn't see the motorcycle. Gray swerved to avoid a collision.

Witnesses said Gray sped up to pass several cars ahead of him and then parked his motorcycle in the middle of the freeway, blocking the northbound traffic. Gray then reportedly walked toward the SUV and pointed his handgun at the driver.

The SUV driver allegedly told the gun-toting Gray to put down the firearm, adding that there were children in his vehicle. Gray purportedly kept advancing toward the SUV with his gun drawn. That's when the SUV driver used his own gun to shoot Gray several times.

"There is no doubt that he parked his bike and got off it and went up and approached the other vehicle. Now who started it? I don't know. Who flashed the gun first? I don't know. But ultimately it had tragic outcome that could've been avoided," witness Isel Valenzuela said.

"Man and just a few seconds later I heard gunshots," Valenzuela said. "Everybody slammed on their brakes and I was only about three cars behind where it happened."

Valenzuela had a trauma kit in his car and rushed to treat Gray's gunshot wounds.

"I look over and I see him laying there," Valenzuela said of the teen. "With blood all on his chest and his stomach."

Valenzuela remembered, "The guy was in pain. Saying, 'Oh it hurts. I need to breathe.'"

Police and paramedics arrived about three minutes after the deadly shooting.

Gray was flown to a nearby hospital, where he died. The medical examiner's office said he died of multiple gunshot wounds.

Authorities said that the SUV driver was the first person to call 911 following the shooting. The SUV driver is cooperating with the police investigation, and has not been arrested.

Valenzuela said, "It definitely puts a different perspective on road rage once you witness something so traumatic like that."

Chicago 1-year-old shot in the head in apparent road rage incident

A 1-year-old child is in grave condition after being shot in the head during an apparent road rage incident, according to reports.

The shooting took place on Chicago's Lake Shore Drive on Tuesday morning.

What are the details?

According to Chicago Police Commander Jake Alderden, the drivers of both vehicles were "completely unknown to each other."

"There was a dispute possibly over somebody not letting somebody into a lane of traffic," Alderden told reporters on Tuesday.

The vehicle carrying the child crashed shortly after the shooting, and a Good Samaritan stopped to help, according to reports. The unnamed passerby transported the child and other occupants of the car to nearby Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

The child was later transported to Lurie Children's Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition at the time and is said to be on a ventilator at the time of this reporting, having suffered a brain injury.

Associate Chief Medical Officer Dr. Marcelo Malakooti told reporters during a Tuesday briefing outside the hospital that the child remains in "grave condition."

"It's a very serious bullet injury," he added. "It's a very tenuous situation. It can change hourly for us."

"Police recovered a handgun from the crashed car and are determining if it was fired during the incident," ABC News reported.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) said that authorities have a suspect in mind and are "actively pursuing the other car."

During a Tuesday press briefing on the incident, Lightfoot condemned the senseless violence and said, "Obviously any time anyone is shot in Chicago is tragic, particularly when it is a child. This was simple, but stupid, road rage."

WLS-TV reported that police are indeed questioning a person of interest in the shooting and are still looking for the other vehicle, which is described as a black Chevrolet.
