'Blood wasn't even dry': Ron DeSantis vows to cancel visas, deport foreign students celebrating Hamas terrorism

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sent a resounding message to foreign students celebrating terrorism – not on his watch.

Within hours of the deadly and unprecedented surprise attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists, U.S. students marched in solidarity with Palestine on campuses around the country. The pro-Palestine demonstrations arrived before Israel retaliated.

An NYU student was caught ripping down posters of Israelis who have been kidnapped by Hamas.

More than 30 student-run organizations at Harvard placed blame on Israel for the surprise attack by Hamas terrorists earlier this month.

The protests continued in the two weeks following the onslaught that included some 260 young Israelis who were murdered at a music festival near the border of Gaza.

DeSantis vowed to cancel visas and deport foreign students celebrating terrorist acts or terrorist groups.

"When I’m President, if foreign students are out there celebrating terrorism, I will cancel their visas and send them home," DeSantis wrote on the X social media platform on Saturday.

After speaking at a campaign event in Iowa on Friday, DeSantis reiterated his stance against foreigners celebrating terrorism in the United States.

"When the blood wasn't even dry on the Israelis who had been massacred, you had people in America going out protesting in favor of Hamas," DeSantis said. "And that's very chilling. Some of these people are not U.S. citizens, they're on student visas. So as president, if you're on a student visa and you're a foreigner and you're out there celebrating terrorism, I'm canceling your visa and I'm sending you home."

Former President Donald Trump reacted by posting a strongly-worded message on Truth Social. .

"What happened in Israel was barbaric!" Trump wrote on TRUTH Social earlier this month. "Now American Universities are allowing or enabling the open hatred against Israel and America! Instead of educating our young Americans, Deans stand idly by while subversive groups are calling for a National Day of Resistance."

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) called on the Biden administration to rescind visas of foreign nationals who support Hamas.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R. Ark.) prodded the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to deport foreign nationals – including those on student visas – who have shown support for Hamas after the terror attack on Israel.

More than 5,700 people have been killed in Gaza and Israel since the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel on Oct.7, which led to retaliatory action from the IDF.

Last week, an airplane landed with 270 Americans who had been stuck in Israel. DeSantis signed an executive order to enable the state of Florida to "carry out logistical, rescue and evacuation operations to keep its residents safe" and provide resources to the Florida Division of Emergency Management to bring Americans back home.

DeSantis previously pledged to not accept Palestinian refugees from Gaza.

"I don't know what [President] Biden's gonna do, but we cannot accept people from Gaza into this country as refugees. I am not going to do that," DeSantis said at a campaign event earlier this month.

"If you look at how they behave, not all of them are Hamas, but they are all anti-Semitic. None of them believe in Israel's right to exist," DeSantis added.

THIS is how Ron DeSantis plans to DISMANTLE the deep state

Ron DeSantis has officially announced his 2024 run for president of the United States, and one of his first stops to discuss his bid — and how he plans to dismantle the deep state — was with Glenn Beck.

DeSantis laid out just what he wants to do if he were to be elected by the American people.

The Florida governor believes we must “make sure that the First Amendment actually means something, because you can’t let the government subcontract out censorship to Silicon Valley and say you still have a First Amendment.”

Glenn asks him just how he plans to work around government censorship and control of information.

“On day one, we’ll be spitting nails,” DeSantis says.

“I understand — and all your listeners should understand — that if we do everything right, if we’re disciplined, if we’re strong as anyone could be, it still takes a two-term project. I think it takes eight years to be able to reconstitutionalize this government,” he adds.

DeSantis believes the problem is that we have a “consolidation of power amongst people that all have the same worldview.”

This is why he would change who oversees agencies like the FBI.

DeSantis says that on “day one” of his presidency, he would hire a new FBI director and an attorney general “that has a backbone.”

However, he admits breaking up these ideologically driven agencies won’t be easy.

“It’s not something that anyone’s really tried to do because, you know, these are tough fights. I mean it’s like trench warfare, and you got to be ready on day one, and we will,” he says.

Glenn then asks him what he’s “bringing to the table, to this all-out war on the American dream.”

DeSantis answers that he plans to “rip up what Biden’s done on day one, with things like energy.”

“They are trying to price middle-class people out of having a middle-class standard of living. We’re not going to force people to buy electric vehicles. We’re going to make sure that people have a choice to have affordable transportation.”

He says he will also “reduce federal spending” and “fight with the Congress on that.”

DeSantis hauls in a record $8.2 million in 24 hours after launching presidential campaign, easily beating Biden and Trump

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis hauled in a record $8.2 million in the first 24 hours after launching his presidential campaign.

DeSantis was able to garner millions even though his presidential campaign announcement was blemished by temporary technical difficulties at the start of the Twitter Spaces event with Elon Musk, which had nearly 4 million people tune in.

DeSantis easily out-fundraised the past two presidents – who are currently the front-runners in the 2024 race.

"The money raised by DeSantis tops the previous record – the $6.3 million that President Joe Biden hauled in as a White House candidate during the first 24 hours after his campaign launch in 2019," according to Fox News.

Donald Trump raised $9.5 million in his first six weeks after announcing his 2024 candidacy in mid-November. The former Republican president also reportedly raised $7 million in the three days after his indictment in Manhattan.

Never Back Down, the super PAC supporting DeSantis, expects to have an overall budget of at least $200 million – including $80 million transferred from an old DeSantis state political account.

Top officials with Never Back Down believe they can promote DeSantis as "the only candidate to take on — and win — the cultural fights that are definitional for the Republican Party in 2024," according to the New York Times.

The super PAC is preparing to launch a "$100 million voter-outreach push so big it plans to knock on the door of every possible DeSantis voter at least four times in New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina — and five times in the kickoff Iowa caucuses."

Never Back Down plans to hire more than 2,600 field organizers by Labor Day in an attempt to sway Americans to vote for DeSantis in the upcoming Republican primary. The organization – which was established in March by Ken Cuccinelli, a former senior official in Donald Trump's administration – has already started hiring recruits in 18 states.

Never Back Down executive director Chris Jankowski told the Times, "No one has ever contemplated the scale of this organization or operation, let alone done it. This has just never even been dreamed up.”

Never Back Down hired top Republican strategist Jeff Roe, the founder of political consultancy Axiom Strategies and Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign manager in 2016, as well as a close adviser to Republican Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin.

Roe conceded that Trump has been "the leader of a movement," but proclaimed that DeSantis "has the opportunity to be the leader of the party and the movement."

"That is a key difference," Roe stated. "I don’t believe people fundamentally understand that you can be a leader of a movement and not be the leader of your party. Ron DeSantis has the ability to be both. Trump does not."

Regarding defeating Trump, Roe said, "How do you beat Trump? Well, you beat Trump by beating Trump. And where Ron DeSantis has beaten Trump is by doing what Republican voters want him to do the most.”

Ron DeSantis reportedly preparing for 2024 presidential run. A 'more angry' Donald Trump takes shot at 'disloyal' Florida governor.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is reportedly preparing for a 2024 presidential run. At the same time, former President Donald Trump is taking shots at "disloyal" DeSantis for considering a potential run for the White House in 2024.

The Washington Post reported on Saturday, "Advisers to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are actively preparing for a possible presidential run, according to two Republicans with knowledge of the conversations who described meetings and preliminary staffing moves — the latest indication that DeSantis is laying a foundation for a national campaign."

The report claimed that the top dogs in the potential DeSantis 2024 campaign team have "already identified multiple potential hires in early primary states such as New Hampshire and Iowa."

The political insider informed the outlet that Phil Cox and Generra Peck are part of the discussions about a 2024 run. Peck was the campaign manager for Ron's dominant 2022 gubernatorial victory against Charlie Crist. Cox is a former executive director of the Republican Governors Association and was a senior-level adviser for the DeSantis reelection campaign.

Also on Saturday, Trump took a shot at DeSantis for even contemplating a 2024 presidential run during a campaign event at the statehouse in downtown Columbia, South Carolina.

"When I hear that he might [run] I think it’s very disloyal,” Trump said of DeSantis.

Trump accused DeSantis and his administration of “trying to rewrite history” regarding their COVID-19 pandemic response.

"There are Republican governors that did not close their states,” Trump told reporters while aboard his plane, according to CNN. "Florida was closed for a long period of time."

"They're trying to rewrite history," Trump declared.

In March 2020, DeSantis signed an executive order closing bars and nightclubs. He also ordered restaurants to close their dining rooms and use take-out and delivery only.

The Republican Florida governor reopened the state completely in late September 2020. DeSantis also signed an order to protect businesses from local governments attempting to shut them down over mask mandate violations.

Trump also said DeSantis "changed his tune a lot" regarding the COVID-19 vaccines, adding that the Florida governor "promoted the vaccine as much as anyone."

Trump brushed off the possibility of DeSantis beating him, "He won’t be leading, I got him elected. I'm the one that chose him."

However, a University of New Hampshire poll released on Thursday showed that DeSantis (42%) led Trump (30%) by 12 points.

A Marquette Law School poll released on Thursday found that 45% of registered voters prefer DeSantis over 38% who prefer President Joe Biden in a hypothetical matchup. Meanwhile, Trump and Biden are deadlocked at 40%.

A Morning Consult poll from earlier this month showed Trump receiving 46% of the Republican primary vote versus 33% for DeSantis.

Trump endorsed DeSantis in 2018, and the then-congressman went on to narrowly beat Democratic darling, Andrew Gillum.

Earlier on Saturday, Trump made a stop in Salem, New Hampshire.

"This is it. We’re starting right here as a candidate for president," Trump told members of the New Hampshire GOP at their annual meeting.

Trump dismissed the notion that he isn't committed to running in 2024.

"They said, 'He’s not doing rallies, he is not campaigning. Maybe he’s lost his step,'" Trump said, then added, "I'm more angry now, and I’m more committed now than I ever was."

During the Columbia appearance, Trump touted endorsements from Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster.

DeSantis team rips into the Daily Beast over claim  campaign recruited influencers: 'A complete fabrication and you know it'

The office of Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis denied accusations leveled in a Daily Beast story that the campaign had recruited social media influencers to increase the governor's national profile.

The article claimed reliance on five anonymous Republicans "familiar with the discussions" where DeSantis campaign members allegedly orchestrated messaging through a small band of right-wing social media figures.

Christina Pushaw, the rapid response director for the DeSantis campaign, immediately denied the story and forcefully criticized the article and its author, Jake Lahut.

"Dude, this is a complete fabrication and you know it," she tweeted Wednesday.

Dude, this is a complete fabrication and you know it. That's why there are no emails, text messages, or other pieces of evidence that I or anyone connected to our team ever did any of what's alleged. Because it. did. not. happen. The "anonymous sources" = voices in your head.
— Christina Pushaw 🐊 🇺🇸 (@ChristinaPushaw) January 25, 2023

"That's why there are no emails, text messages, or other pieces of evidence that I or anyone connected to our team ever did any of what's alleged. Because it. did. not. happen. The 'anonymous sources' = voices in your head," she added.

"Governor DeSantis won by 20 points. He has millions of supporters. Many are on social media. This is not news. Do people really pay for tweets??" Pushaw said in a second tweet.

She also denied the claim that she had personally made a pitch to influencers to post about DeSantis.

"There is no recruitment pitch — and @JakeLahut knows it. This is a lie, from start to finish. It is not even a convincing lie. Why would I pitch random Republicans and promise to grow their engagement? How would that even help the governor in any way?" she tweeted and added laughing emojis.

DeSantis is widely considered a likely competitor for the Republican presidential nomination for 2024 against former President Donald Trump, who has already announced his campaign. One recent poll found DeSantis trailing behind the former president among likely GOP primary voters.

DeSantis suspends progressive, Soros-backed state attorney who vowed not to enforce state laws on abortion and child sex operations: 'When you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty'

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday that progressive State Attorney Andrew Warren was suspended for neglect of duty and allegedly pledging not to uphold the laws of the state.

"We are suspending Soros-backed 13th Circuit State Attorney Andrew Warren for neglecting his duties as he pledges not to uphold the laws of the state," DeSantis' office said in a statement.

DeSantis targeted Warren, a Democrat, for vowing not to enforce state laws on abortion and child sex-change operations. DeSantis also noted that Warren promised a policy of "presumptive non-enforcement."

DeSantis made the announcement of Warren's suspension during a press conference in Tampa on Thursday morning.

"And so when you flagrantly violate your oath of office, when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty, you have neglected your duty, and you are displaying a lack of competence to be able to perform those duties, and so today, we are suspending State Attorney Andrew Warren, effective immediately," DeSantis stated.

Warren is the state attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit, which covers all of Hillsborough County, including the city of Tampa.

"The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not in state attorneys," DeSantis said. "We are not going to allow this pathogen that's been around the country of ignoring the law; we are not going let that get a foothold in the state of Florida."

"Want to know why some people are moving to Florida? Because their communities are no longer safe, thanks to prosecutors that think they know better than the people's representatives, and they get to pick and choose which laws that they're enforcing," the Republican governor of Florida said.

“State attorneys have a duty to prosecute crimes as defined in Florida law, not to pick and choose which laws to enforce based on his personal agenda,” DeSantis declared. “It is my duty to hold Florida’s elected officials to the highest standards for the people of Florida."

"We believe this is a law-and-order state; we are not going to back down," DeSantis proclaimed.

DeSantis claimed that money from outside Florida is "really trying to push an agenda" in the state.

"I don't think the people of Hillsborough County want to have an agenda that is basically woke, where you're deciding that your view of social justice means that certain laws should be enforced," the governor said.

DeSantis referred to how progressive, George Soros-backed San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin was recalled by mostly liberal voters after crime ran rampant in the city.

During the press conference, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said the suspension of Warren wasn't political, noting it was about "law and order."

"There aren't Republican and Democratic victims – just victims," Chronister said. "They matter, and they should be heard."

Chronister accused Warren of being a "supreme authority" who "single-handedly determines what crimes will be legal or illegal" in the county.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd listed the cities of Baltimore, Chicago, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Portland, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, D.C., as places where prosecutors are not enforcing the law and crime has been a major issue.

DeSantis spokesperson Christina Pushaw added, "Progressive prosecutors backed by Soros have refused to enforce laws across the country. They treat criminals with deference & victims with contempt. This dereliction of duty is why crime is surging. But Gov. Ron DeSantis won’t stand for this. He just suspended the one in Florida."

DeSantis suspended Warren under Article IV, Section 7 of the Constitution of the State of Florida, which empowers the governor to suspend state officials for reasons of misfeasance, malfeasance, neglect of duty, drunkenness, incompetence, permanent inability to perform official duties, or commission of a felony.

DeSantis replaced Warren with Judge Susan Lopez. She was appointed as a judge on the Hillsborough County Court in 2021 by DeSantis. Lopez previously served as assistant state attorney of the 13th Judicial Circuit for over 15 years and as staff attorney of the Second District Court of Appeal.

Lopez said, “I have the utmost respect for our state laws and I understand the important role that the State Attorney plays in ensuring the safety of our community and the enforcement of our laws. I want to thank the governor for placing his trust in me, and I promise that I will faithfully execute the duties of this office.”

The Tampa Bay Times previously described Warren as a "frequent face touting progressive justice policies as Hillsborough County’s state attorney."

On June 2, 2020, there was a George Floyd protest in downtown Tampa that escalated into property damage and violence. Police arrested 67 people for unlawful assembly.

Warren refused to prosecute those 67 individuals.

“I’ve said many times that criminal justice reform involves looking at each case as a problem to solve, not just a person to be punished,” Warren said at the time. “In these unlawful assembly cases, there is no value in filing charges. Prosecuting people for exercising their First Amendment rights creates problems rather than solving them. It can weaken the bonds between law enforcement and the community, while undermining faith in our system.”
