'The barbarians are at the gates': Libertarian Party of New Hampshire snubs own candidate to endorse Trump

The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire — the self-described most libertarian party in the most libertarian state — snubbed its party's own candidate to endorse former President Donald Trump.

The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire rejected the Libertarian Party's presidential candidate, Chase Oliver, and instead endorsed Trump in the 2024 election. Oliver is a progressive libertarian on several key issues.

'The barbarians are at the gates. We must make sure that New Hampshire continues to repel progressives, socialists, communists, and leftists of all stripes.'

"There is, technically, a Libertarian on the ballot," the LPNH said of Oliver. "This Libertarian spends his time supporting tax-funded trans surgery for prisoners, advocating for literal murderers, and trying to kick our members out of the Libertarian Party entirely. We cannot support him, and he cannot win."

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls, Oliver is polling at 0.8%.

The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire noted that the endorsement of Trump "was not a light decision" but added, "We feel it is the right one for ourselves, for our children, and for the best future of a Free State of New Hampshire."

The political group admitted that Trump is not a libertarian but stressed the Republican was "the best candidate for libertarians."

The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire pointed out that Trump promised to commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht — the founder of the online illegal drug marketplace Silk Road — during his appearance at the Libertarian National Convention in May.

It also highlighted that Trump started no new wars — a first in over three decades.

The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire touted that Trump could appoint libertarian icon Ron Paul, as well as Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, to reduce the size of the federal government.

The group applauded Trump's proposal to end the Department of Education.

The statement by the LPNH posted to the X social media platform highlighted that Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) – whom it describes as one of the "greatest libertarians in America" — gave his endorsement of Trump last month.

Massie said last month, "I want to be part of the alignment that puts the focus back on regular people instead of corporations and bureaucracy. One of the other pressing issues of our day is that our meddling overseas has put us on the brink of war, and I believe Trump is the only one who can pull us back from that. For these reasons and those mentioned in my endorsement, I came to the conclusion that this presidential election is too important for me not to weigh-in on."

Trump and Massie butted heads in March 2020 when the former president called for the Kentucky representative to be thrown out of the Republican Party. Trump did endorse Massie in the 2022 election.

The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire was excited that Trump welcomed Bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

The libertarian group was also interested in Trump's "flirting" with the elimination of individual income taxes.

"Trump promises much and we are skeptical of promises from politicians," the group said.

The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire then warned about the dangers of the Democrats winning the 2024 presidential election.

"However, we know for certain what the Democrat alternative is: more socialism, more censorship, more taxes, more authoritarianism," the statement read.

"The barbarians are at the gates. We must make sure that New Hampshire continues to repel progressives, socialists, communists, and leftists of all stripes," the LPNH stated. "New Hampshire, being the only red state in a blue New England, helps achieve that goal. For these reasons and more, the most popular Libertarian state affiliate in the country is endorsing Donald Trump for President. Now get out there and vote!"

The last time a Republican presidential candidate won New Hampshire was in 2000.

President Joe Biden won the state by 7% in 2020.

Trump lost New Hampshire to Hillary Clinton in 2016 by fewer than 3,000 votes.

Prominent libertarian and stand-up comedian Dave Smith also recently announced that he was supporting Trump in the 2024 election.

Rand Paul claims '15 US agencies' knew about Wuhan’s development of COVID-19 and did NOTHING

Apparently, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) did a little digging into the COVID-19 pandemic and what he found was that “15 U.S. agencies knew full well that the Wuhan lab was trying to create a virus like COVID-19 in 2018, and they did nothing,” reports Pat Gray.

“If that’s true — and certainly it is — somebody’s head needs to roll, somebody needs to go to prison over this,” he tells Jeffy, adding that “that someone is Anthony Fauci.”

“How many millions of people died because nobody said anything, nobody did anything about it?” Pat asks.

Of course, the left is “trying to blame those deaths on Donald Trump because he didn’t act supposedly the way they wanted him to,” and yet “these people did nothing” even though “they knew about [the virus’ development] the whole time.”

“These officials, according to Rand Paul, knew that the Chinese lab was proposing to create a COVID-19 like virus, and not one of them revealed that scheme to the public,” reads Pat. “In fact, 15 agencies with the knowledge of that project have continuously refused to release any information concerning this alarming and dangerous research.”

Further, “Government officials representing at least 15 federal agencies were briefed on a project proposed by Peter Daszak — Ecohealth Alliance head and the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” which “proposed to insert furin cleavage sites into a coronavirus to create a novel chimeric virus that would’ve been shockingly similar to the COVID-19 virus.”

“All technical stuff aside,” says Pat, “they knew about it, they did nothing, and nothing is going to happen to anyone — and we all know it.”

To learn more about Fauci’s likely role in the scandal, watch the clip below.

Steven Crowder's off-the-cuff reaction to Sen. Rand Paul interviewing Dr. Rachel Levine

The Left is outraged again. This time over the "audacity" of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) asking Joe Biden's pick for assistant secretary of health, Dr. Rachel Levine, about the consequences of genital mutilation associated with sex change operations.

During Levine's confirmation hearing Thursday, Sen. Paul expressed concern over allowing minors to make a "life-changing" decision like changing their sex.

Facebook locks Ron Paul out of his account for violating 'community standards'

Former Republican Congressman and libertarian icon Ron Paul (Texas) was locked out of his Facebook account by the social media giant on Monday, after he shared a column blasting Big Tech for silencing Americans and accused platforms of a coordinated attack with government to stifle free speech.

What are the details?

"With no explanation other than "repeatedly going against our community standards," @Facebook has blocked me from managing my page," Paul tweeted. "Never have we received notice of violating community standards in the past and nowhere is the offending post identified."

He explained, "The only thing we posted to Facebook today was my weekly 'Texas Straight Talk' column, which I have published every week since 1976."

The last post on the anti-war former congressman's Facebook account was from Monday morning, titled, "The 'War on Terror' Comes Home."

Within it, Paul began by arguing, "Last week's massive social media purges – starting with President Trump's permanent ban from Twitter and other outlets – was shocking and chilling, particularly to those of us who value free expression and the free exchange of ideas."

He goes on to write:

"Big Tech" long ago partnered with the Obama/Biden/Clinton State Department to lend their tools to US 'soft power' goals overseas. Whether it was ongoing regime change attempts against Iran, the 2009 coup in Honduras, the disastrous US-led coup in Ukraine, 'Arab Spring,' the destruction of Syria and Libya, and so many more, the big US tech firms were happy to partner up with the State Department and US intelligence to provide the tools to empower those the US wanted to seize power and to silence those out of favor.

Paul concludes:

So what is to be done? Even pro-free speech alternative social media outlets are under attack from the Big Tech/government Leviathan. There are no easy solutions. But we must think back to the dissidents in the era of Soviet tyranny. They had no Internet. They had no social media. They had no ability to communicate with thousands and millions of like-minded, freedom lovers. Yet they used incredible creativity in the face of incredible adversity to continue pushing their ideas. Because no army – not even Big Tech partnered with Big Government - can stop an idea whose time has come. And Liberty is that idea. We must move forward with creativity and confidence!

Daniel McAdams, executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity confirmed to The Washington Examiner that Paul had been locked out of his account, telling the outlet, "They claim the lockout is temporary, but have provided no additional information as to the length of the suspension or the remedy."

Facebook did not immediately respond to The Examiner's request for comment.
